We loved this venue for our 70 person wedding! The space was beautiful and the epitome of a New Orleans building. We had both floors and the courtyard. Our pictured turned out beautiful. The food and alcohol was excellent. They made espresso martinis and had so many different alcohol options for our guests. Linda was really great to work with and made coordinating with our vendors simple for us. Would highly recommend Swoop Duggins for a wedding or rehearsal dinner. Our out of town guests loved the building.

We had the most amazing wedding at Swoop Duggins. It was an intimate wedding ceremony in the delightful courtyard. Followed by celebratory drinks with our closest family and friends. The ambience and style at Swoop Duggins created a unique atmosphere which made us feel we were part of Jazz/ Blue culture in New Orleans.

Linda the owner and Cheryl the venue manager we're amazing to work with. They we're both professional and knew their venue so well. We toured the venue and originally planned to use the upstairs for our 50 person reception but ended up using the downstairs and courtyard. The food was excellent and the every day wedding menu spread. We had a range of options and spice levels. The bartenders (with the fab manicures) were attentive to guests and made delicious cocktails. Everything was perfect and vibey for our intimate wedding.

We loved the Swoop Duggins House!! This venue was beautiful! Food and drinks were great. We planned this from a distance; Linda was so easy to work with and everything turned out better than I could have expected. I have recommended the venue to friends in town and would book again for an event without a second thought! Thanks!!

Having a surprise engagement at Swoop Duggins was an unforgettable experience! Linda and her team were incredible, assisting with every detail from arrival, food, and decor. The venue provided a stunning backdrop for photos, and the courtyard was absolutely gorgeous.

Linda was extremely responsive, making the planning process seamless even though I was in Atlanta. She introduced me to the photographer and carriage company. Choosing the menu was easy, and her chef provided options for everyone, ensuring all our guests were delighted.

We chose Swoop Duggins for our wedding. Linda was amazing to deal with, it's a stunning venue. The most relevant and overriding experience was that in general you are happy if 'most things' go well. It was a flawless experience - there was nothing that was less than excellent. The food, the service (amazing staff and a real credit in this day and age regardless of price), the beautiful venue. I arranged our own bands, and they were accommodated effortlessly by Linda and her Team. An absolutely outstanding experience for which we are grateful to Linda, the Team and Swoop Duggins House.

From the very beginning of viewing to leaving on the night of our event - we had a fantastic experience!

my husband and I have been coming to New Orleans our entire life from just over the state line in Texas, we knew that we wanted to renew our vows in New Orleans and so happy we chose this venue. We only booked the top floor and it was still perfect for the 25 people we had on site.

All I had to do was pick my menu items and show up! That’s how easy it is to book this location.

Not to mention, it is absolutely gorgeous! My husband and I have already talked about potentially having family reunions here as well.

Must book this place!!

I cannot say enough fabulous things about this beautiful venue and Ms. Linda Novak, its proprietress and event coordinator. I approached Ms. Novak with less than one (1) months’ notice and an unusual request to propose to my girlfriend there after discovering that the Swoop-Duggins House was open for private events – years ago, my girlfriend (now fiancée) and I had our very first date “Cellar Door” (bar operated by previous tenant/owner), but I had been advised that it had been shut down in Hurricane Ida. I was so thrilled to see that Ms. Novak was now hosting events in the space again and invited myself over for a walk-through as soon as I got in contact with her. Despite my paltry budget (much less, I’m sure, than she normally agrees to rent the space for); an insanely complicated plan for a proposal (I had to lead my girlfriend in through a side entrance that she’d not recognize, then ask Ms. Novak to herd in in 30 guests to the front room within a 5-minute window before bringing my fiancée out to propose to her on the balcony where Ms. Novak had provided a perfect “hiding spot” under a tablecloth for my friend to photograph the proposal, after which I brought her down the courtyard steps where she coordinated the timing of my friend’s dad’s trumpet-playing); an ever-changing number of guests and menu items (from 12 to 35 and then back down to an eventual 30); and two highly-invested mothers participating in the surprise, Ms. Novak graciously and seamlessly pulled off an engagement event that most people that I was crazy for even attempting. Ms. Novak spent weeks working with me and my friends and family to ensure that everything went right in this multi-layered plan that likely would take the award for “venue’s worst nightmare event” – from coordinating walk-throughs in the week leading up to the event, to actually playing a part in the surprise herself (she went so far as to make fake signage and decorations for another “event” that was to take place that night; and put her acting skills to work to make my charade more believable), she was beyond incredible. All of my guests asked whether she was a career wedding coordinator that we could hire, given her flawless facilitation of the entire evening – if only she were available to handle my wedding! Needless to say, my fiancée was thrilled and said yes. I would have loved nothing more than to have my wedding reception there, but we have an insanely large invitation list, so unfortunately, our capacity was a bit beyond what the venue could comfortably accommodate. As for the venue itself, Ms. Novak has done an impeccable job of decorating the space down to the very last detail – it is New Orleans through and through, and captures the essence of the Crescent City through its décor and ambiance. It Is not only a perfect place for a celebration, but also a venue that is rich with beautiful history. Cocktails and appetizers were of course fabulous, as well. My guests were raving about the food afterward. No way to go wrong with this venue and Ms. Novak. Thank you for everything
