After going through countless wedding florists, we met with Kathy from The Hidden Garden and were instantly pleased. Not only was she super helpful but she knew exactly the style we were looking for to capture our special day. All of our needs and requests were met without a hassle. The Hidden Garden is a pleasure to work with! They are AMAZING and we definitely made the right choice. Before we let more time slip by, we wanted to tell you our appreciation. We cannot begin to thank you enough for everything you did to make our wedding perfect. The flowers were OFF THE CHARTS amazing!!!!
Even yesterday morning as my mom drove us to the airport, we were still talking about the flowers. I could never have pictured a more beautiful mantle in that crystal ballroom – I wish I could have taken that whole set up home with me! That night, the candles just glowed and the colors of those flowers bounced off that fireplace. Every single table we went to during dinner complimented the flower centerpieces. Combined with the candles, the effect was stunning. As soon as we get the professional pictures, I will send some your way. I want you (and your entire hardworking team) to see just how beautiful it all was that evening. And the huge arrangement in the main lobby! Thank you so much for pulling that off!! It was the first thing every guest saw as they walked in and it was so impressive. Your talented eye for color came through in choosing the exact shades of flowers that gave our wedding the feeling it did. Daniel’s mom said it perfectly: we got a lot of compliments on the wedding, but the number one compliment that stands out to all of us was how beautiful the flowers were.
Anyways, thanks again to you and your entire team for everything. The flowers were truly spectacular, and they are such a big part of our memory of the best day of our lives. As a wrote on the note to Trisha on my wedding day, she and the rest of the Hidden Garden team are my stars!!! Trisha was so professional, but also became like a good friend. She was so helpful with planning the flowers and teamed up with my lighting people as well so everything worked together perfectly. She is such a wonderful person and has so much positive energy. She knows what looks best and gives very helpful advice. I can't say enough wonderful things about her!! As for the flowers, they are worth every penny. They do an amazing job. Our flowers were GORGEOUS and we received so many compliments. They also did the flowers for our rehearsal dinner which were completely different than our wedding day flowers and those were amazing too. Trisha at Hidden Garden did an AMAZING job on the florals for our wedding! Her work speaks for itself. She was so sweet, accomodating and professional throughout the entire process. The theme for our wedding was vintage French with a Marie Antoinette twist and she executed just what we asked of her. The flowers looked just how I imagined when we first started planning. The colors were exactly what I asked for. I wish I could keep my bouquet alive forever; it was gorgeous! I highly recommend them. Trisha is also a day of coordinator and I know she really helped pull everything together with the coordinator we hired; which was an extra bonus! Trisha did a wonderful job with my daughter's wedding. The wedding was at Casa del Mar in Santa Monica and numerous guests commented on how beautiful the flowers and tables were. This was a Jewish wedding and Hidden Garden had a good choice of chuppas available. In conjunction with our wedding coordinator, Terri Castillo, they took care of the flowers for the ceremony (including the chuppa and the aisle), the dinner reception, and the miscellaneous tables. They made sure that the flowers were complementary to the bridesmaid dresses, they consulted with us and ordered the table linens, etc. My daughter and I were both thrilled with the way they had transformed the space. Trisha was easy to work with, flexible, and really listened to what we had to say. All in all, Hidden Garden was outstanding!Trisha did a wonderful job with my daughter's wedding. The Hidden Garden designed the most spectacular flowers for our wedding. The Chuppa was exactly what i wanted (and more!). The Centerpieces were breathtaking! Flowers were critical for me. I wanted them everywhere! Trisha was my contact person and she was so easy to work with. Trisha was so responsive, she listened and wanted to truly make everything perfect for me. She has a true passion and and eye for flowers. All my flowers were the perfect color and full of life. I will never forget going in for my centerpiece preview. I walked in, went to the back where I was about to go up the stairs to meet with Trisha. I turned to go upstairs, and when I looked up at the top of the stairs was my wedding table! I didn't expect it. She picked out the silk linens that she thought I would like (and boy was she right!) The thing I love the most is, that they asked me how much I wanted to spend and took that in mind unlike a lot of other florists who would try to convince me to spend more than neccesary for half-dead flowers. They were extremely flexible in accommodating our work schedules during several pre-wedding meetings and they were very patient with our [cough] my wife's ever-changing requests. Trisha and Amy really hooked us up. My wife's exact words were "It was better than anything I ever could have imagined." I was pretty impressed too. I would and have recommended The Hidden Garden to anyone looking for a florist for any occasion, big or small. Amy is extremely positive person to work with and always has a smile on her face. One of the most important things to me were the flowers (to make the venue & photos beautiful) which were beyond what I had dreamed of!!! When I talk to people today they still remember the flowers! I still use Hidden garden for any flowers I need. They have done all my parties plus made many people happy with every day arrangements I have sent. We hired Hidden Garden to do our wedding recently. The punchline of my review is that it is indeed true that they do beautiful work with flowers, however, based on my experience with them I would not recommend hiring them to do your wedding. If I could do it all over again, I would have hired a different florist. I met with Trisha and her staff on at least 3 different occasions (for over an hour each) to go over all of the details of our centerpieces, our chuppah (wedding canopy), bouquets, etc. They seemed charming, attentive and like they could be trusted to carry out the design and contact we had agreed upon. But much to our dismay, as our wedding day neared (and on our wedding day), the flowers did not turn out the way we wanted them.
The chuppah - I had provided exact photos of the chuppah design we wanted to Hidden Garden on at least 5 different occasions before our wedding (2 times in person, and at least 3 times via email). We discussed this design in detail, and even went so far as to specify the design we were trying to stay away from. To our huge disappointment, on our wedding day, Hidden Garden changed the design of our chuppah to something we did not want, WITHOUT consulting us. By the time we saw the chuppah it was too late to change it (our wedding was going to start in an hour or two). To make matters worse, it was nothing like the chuppah we had discussed and agreed upon (in our contract!). This was not only unprofessional, but was beyond anything we would have expected an established florist.We were disappointed with our chuppah but we were appalled by the fact that we
paid a ton of money for a chuppah we didn't order and that we didn't like. After our wedding when we approached Hidden Garden about this, they were hardly apologetic and said "all of our guests seemed to like it." They didn't offer us any discount or any consolation for the fact that we have a chuppah we did not like in every single photo of our wedding ceremony.
The bridal bouquet - I requested a particular variety of rose for my bouquet. They emailed me about 2 months before our wedding (I had booked them a year out from our date) and told me that their grower could not supply that rose and that I would have to choose something else they had. It wasn't like I was requesting an obscure flower or anything - it was a cream lush/full rose. I was shocked that they did not try to find the flower from another grower in the area, but rather told me that I had to choose another flower or that I had to locate them myself and have 24 stems shipped to them 2 days before my wedding so they could use them for the bouquet. I'm sure they could have found another supplier in all of LA that had access to that flower. In the end, I ended up locating and ordering flowers myself for my own bouquet (which I paid for out of pocket) and had them shipped to the florist. My centerpieces - My smaller centerpieces were supposed to be floating in water (this was even stated in the contract and also shown in photos provided on several occasions). This was not done one my wedding day. Instead each of these centerpieces was placed in a dry vase (which makes no sense...flowers and plants need water!).
The curtain - Oh and also, they quoted us $500 for a piece of plain ivory fabric we needed to cover a window facing the ceremony area so the guests arriving outside would not be able to see us (the bride and groom) while we waited for the ceremony to start. After much ado, we talked them down to $150 which is still way too much if you ask me.
All in all we were truly disappointed and upset that our experience
with Hidden Garden turned out this way. We do appreciate that the flowers did look nice at the event, but we wish our wedding day flowers had been as we had designed and agreed upon with them.
We hired Hidden Garden to do our wedding recently. The punchline of my review is that it is indeed true that they do beautiful work with flowers, however, based on my experience with them I would not recommend hiring them to do your wedding. If I could do it all over again, I would have hired a different florist. I met with Trisha and her staff on at least 3 different occasions (for over an hour each) to go over all of the details of our centerpieces, our chuppah (wedding canopy), bouquets, etc. They seemed charming, attentive and like they could be trusted to carry out the design and contact we had agreed upon. But much to our dismay, as our wedding day neared (and on our wedding day), the flowers did not turn out the way we wanted them.
The chuppah - I had provided exact photos of the chuppah design we wanted to Hidden Garden on at least 5 different occasions before our wedding (2 times in person, and at least 3 times via email). We discussed this design in detail, and even went so far as to specify the design we were trying to stay away from. To our huge disappointment, on our wedding day, Hidden Garden changed the design of our chuppah to something we did not want, WITHOUT consulting us. By the time we saw the chuppah it was too late to change it (our wedding was going to start in an hour or two). To make matters worse, it was nothing like the chuppah we had discussed and agreed upon (in our contract!). This was not only unprofessional, but was beyond anything we would have expected an established florist.We were disappointed with our chuppah but we were appalled by the fact that we
paid a ton of money for a chuppah we didn't order and that we didn't like. After our wedding when we approached Hidden Garden about this, they were hardly apologetic and said "all of our guests seemed to like it." They didn't offer us any discount or any consolation for the fact that we have a chuppah we did not like in every single photo of our wedding ceremony.
The bridal bouquet - I requested a particular variety of rose for my bouquet. They emailed me about 2 months before our wedding (I had booked them a year out from our date) and told me that their grower could not supply that rose and that I would have to choose something else they had. It wasn't like I was requesting an obscure flower or anything - it was a cream lush/full rose. I was shocked that they did not try to find the flower from another grower in the area, but rather told me that I had to choose another flower or that I had to locate them myself and have 24 stems shipped to them 2 days before my wedding so they could use them for the bouquet. I'm sure they could have found another supplier in all of LA that had access to that flower. In the end, I ended up locating and ordering flowers myself for my own bouquet (which I paid for out of pocket) and had them shipped to the florist.
