Best Day Ever

Andy was amazing and made our wedding day go so smoothly! We had a lot of moving parts, a live musician, and he truly helped to run the show. He made sure there were people on the dance floor the entire time and played a wide variety of music to please all age groups and interests. He was very willing to incorporate requested songs from our guest rsvps, and took inspiration from some playlists we put together. A DJ can make or break a wedding day, and I cannot recommend a more fun, reliable dj for your big day! We also loved that he offered the phone guestbook and photobooth as an add on to our package. He handled all set up and we got our messages back the next day! Thank you Andy for making our dream wedding become a reality!

I highly recommend The Groove!

We chose The Groove as they were highly recommended by our place of venue and I'm so pleased how perfectly my daughters wedding was from pre-ceremony music, ceremony music, and entire reception. Andy coordinated with us on the timeline making helpful suggestions which we are grateful for his expertise and professionalism. His MC skills are the best I have ever seen at a wedding as Andy did all the announcing and made everything run so smoothly with the timeline. With four generations attending everyone enjoyed the music and the dance floor stayed busy all evening. Everyone said it was the best and most fun wedding they'd been to and I credit Andy & The Groove for helping make this day so perfect!

Dance Party!

We chose DJ Andy for our wedding and he was amazing! He DJ’d both of my sisters weddings and many of my friends weddings so I knew he would be a perfect fit for our wedding too! He’s professional, very detailed, has great communication, and so much fun! I’ve had so many people tell me how much fun they had at our wedding and that our wedding was the best dance party they had ever seen, which is exactly what we were hoping for! He has an excellent talent of feeling out the vibes of the party and playing music to keep the party going. I highly highly recommend hiring Andy from The Groove!

I 100% recommend The Groove for any event! They made planning for the big day very easy and stress-free. Tim was our DJ, and after our planning call with him, I knew it would be a seamless day. He was very knowledgeable and reassuring. He was very professional and helped us when planning which specific dances or events to include during our reception. He did a great job being flexible and changing the music to keep the dance floor busy. He also made requested announcements throughout the night to keep us on track with our timeline. He was also very approachable and friendly! I am so glad we used The Groove for our special day.

50th Wedding Anniversary

Andy from the Groove was great. From the planning stage to the day of the party, he was professional, responsive, and knew how to keep our guests on the dance floor. We made guests from 9 mo. to 82 and all were on the dance floor. Andy also offers a photo booth which was the hit of our party. I highly recommend.

DJ Andy is the best!

Andy was a blast and made our wedding night so much fun! He did a great job of mixing in the songs we specifically requested with other songs that fit in perfectly with whatever the dancing mood was at the time. He also was an awesome MC and helped to push the night along throughout all of the different events. He was very attentive to what was happening at the moment and we received a lot of compliments from our guests about how much they enjoyed him. He was so on top of it that he even noticed our college being mentioned during some of the family toasts and played our school's fight song at the perfect moment! Overall Andy was such a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend him.

Awesome choice for a DJ!!

I recently worked with Andy and Tim for DJ services for my daughter's wedding. Andy contacted me very quickly after my initial email and provided me with a quote and all the information I needed. After that we worked with the DJ assigned to our event, Tim English. Tim was great! He met with us by phone to go over the play list and timing of special moments (first dance, grand intro, etc.).

Tim had everything ready to go when we got to the reception, he was dressed very nicely, and the tunes just kept coming all night long after that. We literally did not stop dancing all night! It was so fun! These guys do a great job and I would highly recommend them for any event!

Awesome Wedding DJ!

Andy and The Groove DJ truly brought the party to our wedding reception. The music was great all night and the dance floor was always full. Flawless experience with DJ Tim! Super flexible and very efficient.

My wife and I had the pleasure of having Tim DJ our wedding. Not only was he extremely professional but he was so much fun to work with! Andy was an amazing DJ for our wedding. We gave him creative liberty for a lot of it because we trusted his judgement and he did not disappoint!! We had the absolute best experience with Andy and The Groove. He was so fun and easy to work with and I always looked forward to talking to him! He was so flexible and helped us perfectly edit the song we wanted to walk down the aisle to so it worked perfectly. He also did a FANTASTIC JOB WITH THE MUSIC ON THE DANCE FLOOR. He really read his audience and just came in with banger after banger and our hoarse voices the next day from singing the night away further confirmed that! He also helped us when we ran into a little unplanned snafu and helped seamlessly keep the wedding going and keeping the guests having the time of their lives. Very professional!

My wife and I found Andy on The Knot website. He had excellent reviews and comments from past customers. Andy gave us a call and introduced himself. Andy was very professional, excited, and organized. Prior to our wedding, I asked Andy if he could switch through different songs during the Garter Toss. He said Yes! & it turned out perfectly. Awesome DJ - would use him again.

Andy is the best! I’ve known Andy for several years. He provided the music at my former place of employment. I always wished I had an occasion to use him as a DJ. When my now husband proposed I knew immediately Andy had to be our MC/DJ. He did an incredible job. We live out of state, so all our communication was via phone and email. He played great music that kept everyone dancing all night. Our wedding coordinator even came up to me and said she had never seen a bride dance practically every song at a wedding. I could not help it; the music was so good that I didn’t want to miss an opportunity to dance to a great song. We had a lot of guests from Germany and Andy played some German songs. It was a lot of fun watching the Latinos teaching the Germans Latin dances and vice versa. Months after our wedding we still had people telling us it was the best wedding ever, and we know the main reason for that was because of the great music Andy was playing. He played a great mix of Latin, German and American dance music.
Andy does an amazing job of reading the crowd. During one of the songs Andy noticed that people were singing along and during the chorus he would lower the volume and all you heard were our guests singing along.
He also did a fabulous job with lighting. The up-lighting set a soft romantic feel in the ballroom. Andy also helped with the timeline and kept everything on schedule.
Andy is very professional, he always responded to our calls in a timely manner. We highly recommend Andy. You will not go wrong with him.

Nothing but the Best!!

The Groove and Andy made our night so very special! It was so important to my husband and I to have a full dance floor all night long - and Andy accomplished just that. The dance floor NEVER cleared! He was great to work with us through the types of music we wanted, the mood, the atmosphere we wanted for our night. Not once did Andy make it about him or what he wanted, he was so focused on making our day exactly what we wanted. If I was to do it again, I'd chose The Groove 100x over! Highly Recommend!

We hired The Groove to DJ our wedding a few years ago, and to this day one of our favorite memories, that friends and family continue to rave about, was the dance floor that evening. It was packed the entire time and I think every single person got out there for at least one song (and some never left!)
Andy was our DJ that night and prior to the big day we were able to sit down with him and discuss our vision, favorite songs...and "please don't play" songs :), and songs to play and announcements to make during specific portions of the evening (cake cutting, etc.) He was so helpful, knowledgeable, full of suggestions, but also really listened to what we wanted and executed perfectly the day of.
I can't say enough good things about this DJ company for helping us make our wedding day even better than we imagined it could be!

Must Hire!

Andy from The Groove is worth every penny! We decided to have The Groove DJ for our wedding and he exceeded our expectations! Everyone was on the dance floor from start to finish. Andy kept the party going all night and everyone was sad for the music to end.

Organized, Personable DJ!

We are so excited to have Andy for our wedding in August. We have talked to him a few times and he even joined us for a venue tour. He is very organized and has helped guide us in our timeline of the day. His website is really cool and allows you to go on and choose your songs. We can't wait to work with him closer on our wedding day!

My favorite vendor of my wedding

Andy was PHENOMENAL! So much fun, really read the crowd, kept the party going until the very end. He was very responsive and professional- truly a pleasure to work with. He even verified how to pronounce the name of every single member of my wedding party (greek, polish, and german- not easy!). He remembered details from our very first phone meeting, and I could not recommend him more highly. He was the only vendor that I had that wasn't somehow connected to me personally, yet he still ended up as my favorite. Hire Andy- he will make it fun and easy on you!

Couldn't have been better!

The Groove DJ was one of the highlights of our wedding! All of our friends and family raved about how our DJ was a hit! From the very beginning we were impressed with the online profile for our wedding that made song selections and timeline planning a breeze! Andy met with us before the wedding to discuss everything and was very fun and professional. Andy did such a great job with song selections and making sure that our wedding timeline kept moving on time. The set up for the ceremony was perfect and made it so all of our friends and family were able to hear our ceremony without the wind howling into the microphones. We had such a fun time dancing and would definitely use The Groove for any future events!

Great with tricky family dynamics

Andy is terrific at handling the most nitpicky details of weddings--including any uncomfortable family dynamics (divorced parents), unconventional introductions ( I didn't take my husband's name, and we'd already been legally married for some time, so we weren't just 'the new mr. and mrs. so-and-so). On top of that, we had to cancel our ceremony musicians the night before the wedding due to inclement weather, so at 10pm the night before the wedding I hastily sent Andy my music requests for our ceremony. He was totally flexible and accommodating, and it all turned out perfectly!

We found Andy H, DJ at the Groove, thru a general internet search since we were planning our daughter's CA wedding while in AZ. We saw he consistently received great reviews and decided to take a chance on him after a phone conversation. We are so happy we did. The reviews are true and Andy was awesome. He took all of our input and implemented it exactly as requested. Our daughter did not want traditional ceremony music and specifically requested Andy's help in finding instrumental guitar music. They worked together to find just the right processional and recessional music to accommodate her taste. Andy is also extremely helpful and knowledgable about how to plan a wedding reception that runs smoothly and will keep the guests engaged. He worked with the bride & groom to develop a timeline for the reception that included all the elements the bride & groom wanted (ex: toasts, speeches, special dances, etc) with lots of time for all the guests to dance. He made sure to inquire beforehand as to exactly the types of music, and any special songs, they wanted played. He also made sure to ask about any type of music or songs they did NOT want! The guests danced the night away and everyone had a wonderful time.

Andy was the best! He was everything we were looking for in a DJ for our April 2018 wedding! We knew we had found the perfect DJ right away at our initial meeting because we had so many unusual wishes and requests and he listened and asked questions until he really "got" our vision. He then did everything he could to make our vision a reality. It came off flawlessly with everyone having a fabulous, unforgettable time. Even things we didn't ask for or think of, Andy had it covered! He knew how to anticipate our needs and desires and make things the best they could be. He was a pro at reading the crowd and inspiring even the reluctant ones to want to dance and be part of the fun. We didn't want crazy and we didn't want rowdy, and Andy knew how to balance fun and energy with class and good taste. He was the perfect Emcee as well, with his rich voice and friendly laughter. Choosing Andy as our wedding DJ was the easiest decision we made in the whole planning process. From the first time we met with him, we were completely impressed, and it was clear that he knew exactly what needed to be done to make sure a wedding and reception flowed well stayed fun and exciting! His online portal made it very easy to make decisions about our timeline and song choices at our own pace, and he took the time to meet with us a few weeks before the wedding to plan out the schedule of events, make sure he had the correct pronunciation of all the wedding party names, stuff like that. We also had Andy place some lighting around the venue for some added decor. On the actual day, everything went smoothly and Andy kept everyone dancing until the reception ended - it was perfect! Do yourselves a favor and hire Andy for your wedding!

We had Andy DJ our wedding earlier this month - hands down the best DJ that we have seen. You don't need to look anywhere else. Super easy to work with, detail oriented, and helped to keep the wedding evening running to always coordinating with the venue to ensure things moved along as planned during the night. Rather than give him a play list, we built him a 'no play' list and gave him the type of music that we both liked - and then let him use his talent to tailor music to the crowd. He continuously read the crowd, from cocktail hour to dance time, and figured out what to play to keep the entire wedding up dancing on multiple occasions. He was playing great song after great song for hours on end and made our wedding epic. We even extended our wedding an hour to keep the party going as everyone was having so much fun. Truly talented DJ that we would hire again in a second.

Andy was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process! We loved that we were able to meet up with Andy a couple of times before our wedding day so that we could all get to know each other! This made him feel more like a friend of ours celebrating with us on our wedding day! Andy was prompt with all forms of communication from the initial contact, planning meetups, to any last-minute requests that we had leading up to our wedding day! Andy has a great process of first and foremost getting to know what YOU want and guiding you throughout the decision making. Even if you’re unsure of what you want, Andy’s professionalism and experience help to point you in the right direction! Andy fulfilled all of our requests with adjusting the schedule of the night, incorporating specific dances (like an anniversary dance), to making sure guests of all ages enjoyed the music! Andy had also worked with some of our other vendors which helped throughout the whole process and wedding day! The Groove has a great website to help with the planning process! You can add your music and requests with just a click of the button! We found this to be very helpful! Andy is a great guy to work with and truly took the time to make sure all details (schedule of the night, specific song requests, specific songs/genres to not play, the pronunciation of names) were all covered! We hired Andy/The Groove for our daughters wedding and the experience was nothing but top notch from the moment we learned about his business at a wedding show. The value in hiring Andy/The Groove is that he WAS the wedding! The package that we bought made it nice as he played beautiful music before the wedding started (didn't have to hire a 3 piece instrumental group), had the perfect music for walking down the aisle and when the Newly married couple celebrated! Everything was orchestrated perfectly---he had the timing down and introduced all the next "steps" of the wedding so professionally. He played great music and kept the guests on the dance floor! I honestly would hire him for our next daughters wedding! We had a very productive meeting before the wedding to talk through details and he executed beautifully. Excellent experience! Great Guy! MADE the wedding really run smoothly and we didn't have to micromanage on single thing. He made the wedding wonderful...truly. Andy was amazing. He did the sound and music for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. He was very professional and responsive during the planning of our wedding. He had a meeting with me and my family before the wedding to go over timelines and song selection. Andy helped keep the timeline for our whole reception so everything moved flawlessly through the night. If you are looking for the best DJ for your wedding you have to go with Andy from The Groove!! He did an AMAZING job at our wedding and had everyone dancing all night!! He was also was great at making sure we were always on track with time and everyone knew what was going on. I wasn't sure what songs to do for our walk down the aisle, cake cutting, etc. and he gave us so many good options that we ended up choosing. Everyone had a blast dancing all night and we got so many compliments on the music!! Not to mention he is so nice and easy to work with! We could not have asked for a better DJ! Andy was referred to us by our photographer. Our wedding coordinator had spoken to Andy on the phone before we met with him and gushed about how professional and experienced he seemed to be. Then after meeting with Andy in person, he continued to exceed our expectations. He is hilarious, friendly, informative, and professional. His services are worth the cost. Any questions we had were easily answered. My husband and I went into our wedding day with full confidence. The day of was flawless. Every song was perfect, and I did not provide him with a list of songs, all we did was discuss the type of music we listen to during our previous meeting. Our wedding was the only wedding I have ever been to where EVERYONE of ALL ages went out onto the dance floor the very first song!!! And after the wedding, everyone raved about our DJ!! I will start by saying that choosing The Groove as our DJ was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Andy was our DJ and he was so great! He always made himself available for questions and was really flexible while working with us. For most of our wedding planning, we lived in another state and weren't able to meet at any time. Andy was really accommodating throughout this time. Fast forward to the wedding day -- it was absolutely perfect! Not one song from our "Do Not Play" list was played and we heard all of our favorites that we requested. He knew exactly when to play different types of music and really kept the crowd entertained. All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend The Groove and Andy to any couple planning their wedding!

We also used their photo booth (Starlight) and had nothing to complain about -- everyone loved it!

Andy was the best dj we could have asked for! I assumed hiring a dj would give us awesome music, but Andy went above and beyond! He met with us a couple times to go over the vibe and timeline. The Wednesday before my wedding, I had to scramble to find a new DJ. Andy was highly recommended, and he moved around his schedule to be available. I quickly discovered that the only mistake I made was not hiring him in the first place! Andy stepped in with short notice, asked us what we wanted for the major parts of the evening and considered some of our special requests. Our guests raved all night about how great the music was, and he helped our night move smoothly as our emcee. If you're looking for a DJ, you should definitely go with Andy!

Andy is amazing! I highly recommend his DJ services. He knows what he is doing and how to communicate with you. So, trust in him to deliver. He’s very professional, has a great personality, has impeccable timing, is very organized, knows how to mix music well, knows how to be a good emcee (always looking out for us to make sure we were in place for cake cutting, etc., keeping us on schedule in a positive way but also knowing when to go with the flow, not making any inappropriate comments), and knows how to read the crowd. He also had experience working at our venue (Grand Tradition Estate in Fallbrook) which was a bonus.

During our first meeting, I was so impressed by the way Andy asked and talked about reception logistics, gave helpful suggestions, and answered my thorough “what-if” detailed questions. With Andy, I knew in my gut that we would be taken care of. I felt like he took the time to ask the right questions to get a feel for our style and what we wanted for our wedding. He totally delivered! Many people throughout the evening of our wedding complimented our music and DJ. One of my guests even mentioned how she heard the wait staff and other vendors complimenting the music. Heck, I saw both our parents and some relatives who never dance… DANCE! Well done, Andy. You made our wedding feel extra special.

He is great with the small details. For instance, I didn’t want to be recognize as MR and MRS only-his-entire-name. Andy remembered and made sure to phonetically note my name since it can be hard to pronounce. He also made sure to smoothly introduce family members and be aware of any notable family dynamics. For instance, my parents are divorced and he suggested a tactful way to introduce them. I wouldn’t have thought about that without him! We only needed to meet with him twice (when we interviewed him and 2 weeks before to nail down the final timeline details). He was always always by email or phone to answer any questions. Book him!

We can confidently say that our wedding reception was a huge success in large part because of Andy's exceptional work as a DJ, and emcee.
From our very first meeting, Andy was very helpful and provided insight and advice to help us organize our big day, all while taking our personal needs and desires into consideration.
Through the whole day of our wedding he was prompt, and did his entire set up behind the scenes, providing his services almost without being noticed. As the reception continued, he coordinated all of our events, including cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc, again in a non-intrusive manner, allowing the party's attention to be directed towards the bride, groom and our families.
Then throughout the night, he kept a large group of people on the dance floor uninterrupted for hours, all while coordinating a wide variety of music styles and song requests from all of our party guests.
We would HIGHLY recommend Andy for any wedding.

Andy was awesome! We heard of him from two other vendors and we really were impressed with his website and reviews. We did a skype meeting since we are out of town, and Andy made us feel so comfortable. He was friendly and we could tell he would be a good MC, but also wouldn't be talking too much during the dancing. He shared about their online planning system which I loved since I'm a very organized person. The online system made it very easy to add all our music requests for ceremony and reception. We also could make a do not play list, and top requests for dancing. Andy worked with us to create a timeline with our coordinator and did our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception music. We had a great mix of music for the reception with songs our older crowd enjoyed as well as more recent popular music for the younger crowd. We have gotten a few compliments from friends of "arguably best playlist". We had one individual who had too much to drink and bumped into the sound system and Andy fortunately was able to save it from messing up! Thank you so much Andy for making our day great! We love to dance and you made dancing so fun at our wedding. We also booked our photobooth which was SO FUN through The Groove. Definitely check this vendor out :)

We used Andy as the DJ for our ceremony and reception. He also provided all of the lightening for our ceremony. The lightening perfect, the up lights made the room look was so beautiful and elegant. He created a go-bo light that matched the design on the gifts we gave to our guests. It looked fantastic! And the music- I cannot even tell you how many friends (both ours and my parents!) and family members complemented us on Andy and the music. People wrote it in the guest book, in the photo booth book comments, and on our facebook/instagram pictures from the wedding. It was crazy! We had such a good time that night- it was perfect and a lot of it had to do with the vibe Andy set. My friends are still talking about it. Some memorable comments include:

Andy of the Groove was more than accommodating with our requests. We wanted to have specific music for cocktail hour, and he even found my favorite album from an obscure group and I could hear it playing while we were having our photos taken. He kept the party going the whole time, but not in an intrusive "DJ" way. Even when everyone moved outside (we had more food, cigars, and activities outside, he continued to play music that could either be danced to or just enjoyed while holding a conversation.

I highly suggest Andy to anyone in the San Diego area, especially north county.

Do it! Andy is great at tailoring the music choices to your preferences. He is also a great MC. He keeps the audience up and dancing without ever being pushy about it. We had a wonderful time in part because of him!

Andy was absolutely amazing! It was the most unforgettable event of our lives.

Prior to the event, Andy sat down with my husband and I to get a feel for the type of music we wanted to play and to gather information so he could draw out a detailed timeline for the big day. We used his timeline as a baseline for the entire wedding weekend.
Andy was organized and always responded to my 1000000 emails very promptly!!

His music was exactly what we wanted (we had a lot of requests :) ) and he was the perfect MC.

Andy - my husband and I are going to miss you! You really made this day that much more magical for us. We cannot wait to get the video footage so we can rematch the wedding day over and over again.

We used The Groove DJ Service for our wedding back in October of 2015. He was recommended by the venue that we were holding our wedding at. With all of the unknowns, stress, and emotions that accompany a wedding, Andy was hands down one of the best parts of our special day, and helped make our wedding absolutely amazing! We ended up having the wedding go over an hour after we had planned, and he was happy to do so. We paid the for the additional hour of course, but he seemed like he wanted to stay and had a smile on his face the entire time. There are so many decisions that you have to make in planning a wedding, some turn out good, and others not so good. Choosing Andy as our DJ was one of the best decisions that we made for our wedding! Enjoy!! K & S

Andy made our wedding wonderful! I was very particular about what I wanted played at our wedding. Plus, I had specific plans for what genre of music I wanted played during each portion of the wedding. Andy not only did a beautiful job arranging the music we had selected but he had to move his equipment from our wedding location to the reception venue and did so seamlessly. Any concern I brought up to Andy, he had a solution for. I totally recommend him!

I have been to several weddings that Andy has been the Dj at, so when it came time to planning my wedding, there was no question as to who we would hire. I knew that everything would turn out great and i would have no worries with him as a vendor. He is awesome to work with and helps you with all the details that you have questions about. He also has a great website to help with the planning of the music so you can log in and customize it yourself, Makes the process so easy!

Andy was incredible. People always remember how much fun a wedding was by the atmosphere and dancing. Andy did an incredible job with the music. We met a few times so he could get to know us and make things personal. I would definitely recommend Andy.

Holy moly! We couldn't have asked for a better DJ/MC than Andy Hagenah at The Groove. Going into the whole process, my husband and I had no idea what to expect (we were like lost kids in the woods), didn't know what to ask, didn't know what we were looking for exactly. The second we met Andy we were blown away. He's been doing this for so long that everything came very naturally to him and we felt completely at ease.

What made us feel really special was that Andy got to know us so he could match his DJ style with who we were as people. But on top of all that, just a night or two before the wedding (yeah, we're those people...whoops) we came up with some very obscure music we found off YouTube that we'd hoped we could have him play during our dinner reception and he didn't even bat an eye. He took care of it and all of our guests, my husband and I, our families... we had a BLAST! He MC'd our "shoe game" like he was a professional game show host from TV, people were laughing and clapping and having just a darned good time.

We were also shocked at the affordability of his services. With our package we not only got sound equipment for the ceremony/reception and poppin' lighting for the reception (can we say technicolor dancing? heck yeah!) but also a lit up wall with our own custom design. Talk about sweeeet!

Thanks Andy! You're awesomesauce!

We contacted Andy exactly 12 days prior to our wedding after deciding our original DJ was not going to work out. With limited time and the wedding being aboard one of the flagship yachts out in the San Diego Bay we did not expect perfection. However, everything went perfectly and Andy could not have been better for our event. We only had time to meet with him once prior and we were able to get everything (timing / music choices) worked out quickly. He is professional and not cheesy like some DJ's can be. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ. Our event had a little over 100 guests, was 4-5 hours long, and occurred on a Friday night.

Andy was an amazing DJ! He did everything we asked, including making a loop of "Hey Mickey" for our introduction to go along with our "Pitch Perfect" themed wedding. Having him there was more than just having a DJ but also having a coordinator to keep us on track with our time line. Guest were always dancing. He even played perfect music to keep "The Hoffard Battle" going. My husband and his brothers love to face each other in dance offs and Andy made sure the right music was playing. Andy kept a lot of wedding stress away so we could sit back and just enjoy the night! We recommend him to all of our family and friends!

Andy was beyond amazing for our special day. He met with us months in advance to discuss the options and packages that he offered. He was extremely easy to work with, polite and first class. He was more than just the DJ, he was the emcee that greatly controlled the timining and flow of the evening perfectly! He worked with me to make a fun mashup for the father/daughter song and offered plenty of good suggestions for the timing and music of the night. We spent over an hour going over the timing of the evening before the wedding as he has so much experience and knew what I wanted! I highly suggest Andy and received so many compliments throughout the night of his professionalism and work ethic. You will not be disappointed with choosing Andy as your DJ!!

Not only did Andy & The Groove DJ my wedding, I have been to 3 other weddings he has been the DJ at and they have all had amazing dance floors and flawless ceremonies!

He helps you nail down all the details with his comprehensive planning list so you won't forget a thing. He took the time to learn the pronunciation of my friends and families names, helped us set up a microphone & played background music so our grandpa could sing at the ceremony and obliged my husbands ridiculous request to hand me a mic in the middle of our first dance. The day of he knew exactly what the schedule was and had the wedding go off without a hitch!

But I guess you get a DJ for the music, which is always awesome. He was the DJ at my sister's wedding and we loved him so we didn't even hesitate to choose him when our wedding came around. The dance floor was always full and he knows how to keep the music on point with the crowd!

His company can also provide a lot of cool little extra's like a light up monogram that made our venue look extra cool at night!

I would recommend him to anyone! He is professional, fun and will not let you down!

We were referred to Andy & The Groove via a friend who had recently gotten married. And we were feeling bogged down by all the DJ Choices that were out there, but it was clear from the beginning that Andy's style met with ours perfectly. First, his communication was excellent. If you're planning a wedding you know some people are prompt, some are slow, some respond in ways you weren't expecting, so Andy was the clear choice when he got back to us promptly, clearly and was clear about his services, pricing, etc. And obviously, the referral helped fill in the blanks. Andy was our guy! In terms of the day, we are an OCD couple who loves music and wanted our special day to feature all our favorite songs that we've cultivated over the years. Andy masterfully played the music we wanted, when we wanted (even sections, beginnings, clips, etc) and sprinkled in some of his own flavor to make the perfect day. Music was near the top of the list of important details for our day and the bottom line -- Andy totally nailed it. Highly recommend.

I'll start this review by saying I strongly believe music is one of the most important parts of a wedding. Like, one of the top three things to not skimp over. It sets the whole mood. Andy came recommended by our venue, Lomas Santa Fe Country Club, and he totally ROCKED our wedding. I was super concerned about getting the moods right and making sure people were on the dance floor all night...and although I gave him a list of suggestions (couldn't help myself, and which he was totally open to) he read the crowd energy perfectly and literally people were dancing all night long.

I loved that Andy asked my husband and I a bunch of preliminary questions to get our style of music down. That first meeting I was like YES. He's understood what we didn't want and held true to staying far from it! He put me at ease and had a ton of great suggestions (I was stressing out last minute about ceremony music and he relieved me almost immediately with great suggestions).

Not only does he play great music, but he is an amazing MC and kept the flow going all night. He was even dialed in enough to remind me to sit down and eat before the first speech cue (seeing that I was mingling and hadn't sat down as I should have!). I was beyond impressed, and for such an important decision, which I know many brides stress over, I say go with The Groove and you'll be super happy :)

Also, their photo booth rocked, our guests loved it!

Andy and his team were wonderful to work with. He is a terrific DJ and I can say as a result, we had an amazing wedding. I've had many people tell us that we had the most fun wedding they have ever been to, and I know it was in large part due to Andy. He took the time to meet with us and go over a timeline for the wedding. He truly helped us plan our wedding and his knowledge and experience are invaluable. We can't thank him enough. He brought everyone together and got everyone dancing. He was never the center of attention and really read the room. We couldn't be happier with their service. Thank you Andy!

Andy DJed for my sister's wedding in 2013, and my husband and I loved the way he ran the reception. He played music that kept everyone going and there weren't any "dud" songs. We asked him to work our reception as well, and he was even better than we remembered. Many of our guests complimented his work and more than a few relatives that don't usually dance were out on the floor.

Andy Hagenah was easy to work with, flexible when we had to change things last minute, and made the whole process very simple. A great example of his service was our anniversary dance. As couples were called out my sister and husband cleared the "one year" mark, but then Andy's next call was for "one year and 14 days!" to eliminate my sister and her husband specifically. We were very impressed that he remembered their wedding date and called them out.

We would recommend Andy to anyone.

Andy was the perfect choice for our wedding! From our first meeting we knew that he was the right mix of fun and professionalism that we were looking for. We were looking for someone who would let the music (and us) be the stars of the night and not be overbearing or cheesy. We had our guests write song requests on their reply cards and Andy did a great job of incorporating some of their requests along with our long list of must-plays. He kept the upbeat vibe throughout the night and the dance floor was always active. He was very easy to work with and easy to get a hold of. His prices were a little higher than we originally wanted, but definitely worth it. We received a lot of great comments about him at the end of the night and continue to. Andy was a great choice for us and a definite recommend!

This was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding day!

Andy was incredible during the entire process - from wedding planning to execution. We met with him twice during the planning process and provided him very loose guidelines for what we wanted. We told him our favorite Pandora stations (Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Mumfords & Sons, etc) and he crafted a perfect playlist for us. Leading up to the big day we changed our mind on the "first dance music" several times and he completely rolled with it. The music for our day was absolutely perfect. At the end of the night he provided us with 3 CDs with all the music he had played that evening - what a wonderful keepsake!

Almost more important than the music was Andy's personality during the event. He was professional but fun! Not at ALL cheesy (I didn't want a DJ who stole the lime light with cheesy comments). He was more like a member of the wedding party than a vendor. He kept us right on schedule for dances and cake cutting. It was seamless.

If you are able to book The Groove for your event I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! You will not regret this decision to have them participate in the most important event of your life!

Andy offered his recommendations for layout, music and many other aspects of the wedding.
It's clear he has done this before and his wisdom and experience was greatly appreciated.
Extremely comfortable to work with.
He is open to anything you have in mind and will give you his opinion if you ask.
This is all just in the setup of the event.
Day of, no worries. Everything runs smooth and perfect.
Andy is even willing to accommodate extra time or details at the event.
Couldn't have been happier.
The atmosphere at the wedding was awesome.
I recommend him to anyone.

I couldn't have asked for a better DJ at our wedding. My husband and I and our friends aren't huge dance music people, so we weren't sure what to expect for the dancing at our wedding. Based on a few bands that we told Andy we liked and thought our guests would enjoy, he read the crowd perfectly and played an amazing mix of music that we loved but that also had everyone on the dance floor all night. I had so many guests comment to me about what awesome music was played plus what a great MC Andy was. Andy was also extremely responsive, organized, and wonderful to work with throughout the process, and I really appreciated that he offered to meet my husband and I half way for our two planning meetings since we live in Orange County. Would definitely recommend!

We knew our DJ would be key to having the FUN wedding reception we wanted. Andy Hagenah with Disc Go Round was referred to us by our friend (whose wedding I attended years ago, and remembered we had a blast dancing at her reception where Andy DJ'd), and he was a true pleasure to work with for our wedding! He interviewed for the job with not only me, but also my Maid of Honor, who also used him for her wedding just a couple months after ours. We were both very pleased! At both weddings, he kept our guests dancing until we had to be kicked out of the venue! At our wedding, he was happy to play a picture slide show I put together, which he looped all night through his equipment onto the large screens the venue provided. As an unexpected awesome surprise, he loaded every song he played onto my flash drive for us to keep. How special to have a soundtrack of our wedding!! He was very reasonable on price, and absolutely easy to work with in every way. He made sure he knew all of our expectations, and he offered his expertise as well. I had my bridesmaid submit a long list of song requests on the day of the wedding, and I believe he played every one of them. Unbelievable! He remembered unique announcements we requested, and was a fantastic master of ceremonies. Lastly, we also used their sister company, Starlight Photo Booths, for our photo booth. Highly recommend them as well! Great HIGH quality pictures (not grainy like other photo booth companies), and they give you a flash drive with every JPEG image, as well as a guest book with every photo strip included. Their props were great, and they let us bring some of our own, which they made sure to return to us. Overall, you can't go wrong with Andy! Tell him Mr. & Mrs. Myers said "Hi!"

I thought the DJ at my daughters wedding was wonderful. He took the time to learn about the bride and groom and their families, and was very professional in all of his comments. He also played great songs, and everyone had a great time dancing!!

Andy was extremely flexible and easy to work with. Our wedding was a destination wedding in San Diego and we did not have a wedding planner. With this being said, Andy (through FaceTime) walked us through his recommended series of events for the ceremony and the reception. His recommendations were phenomenal. The wedding and ceremony went incredibly smooth and we are still receiving compliments from our guests regarding the DJ.

We hired Andy as the DJ for our wedding at Mt. Woodson Castle. Andy was very easy to work with, always got back to texts/emails right away, and gave us a good discount for booking both the DJ and photobooth services. He did a great job as emcee for the wedding and made sure that everyone was were they were supposed to be.

Andy provided MC, DJ and photo booth services for us. We cannot speak highly enough of his contribution to our fabulous wedding.
Pre-Wedding : Andy met with us several times and was an excellent communicator in between. He worked closely with us to provide a descriptive timeline that all the other vendors used, and really spent the time to get to know us. Dealing with Andy was hassle-free, professional, and enjoyable. Additionally, as we were having a destination wedding (LA based), Andy was able to plug us into other vendors and helped us to arrange a day-after party for all of our traveling guests.
DJ Services : Andy was a fantastic DJ. We aren’t the type of couple that would micro-manage the music selection, yet we do have our particular tastes. We trusted Andy to provide a musical atmosphere at our wedding that was inline with our own tastes, and he far exceeded all expectations. He has a deep repertoire of musical knowledge and truly knows how to read the crowd. We could not recommend Andy enough and if the need ever arises for a DJ in our future, he’ll be the first we call.
MC Services : Andy was a charismatic MC. He really let the wedding take center stage and follow a more organic/free format.. which we loved. Everything was well timed and on schedule, and moreso, everyone loved him!
Photo Booth : The photo booth was huge! It fit 10 people in frame easily and was such a highlight of the wedding. Everyone loved the props and costumes, and the service was set up promptly and run professionally. If you are in a situation between upgraded silverware and a photo booth, nobody remembers silverware.
Overall : There is no regrets or small fits we had when dealing with Andy. If you want a hassle-free and knowledgeable DJ/MC that keeps the party going, look no further. And get the photo booth!

As the Bride, Andy made my day perfect! He helped us organize the timeline and kept us on schedule! He carefully remembered people's names and captivated the audience.
