We used The Grand Chapel for our reception, and had an absolutely amazing experience. Jill was extremely helpful the entire planning process and did her absolute best to accommodate any requests or questions that we had. It is very reasonably priced and a gorgeous facility. We had our own catering brought in and they worked very well with the caterer and anything she needed. We were able to decorate the day before because there wasn't any events that day, which was a HUGE help to us. We were able to have a photobooth set up in the lobby area which was also great. We loved having the security officer there, he walked every woman out to their cars as they were leaving and made sure everyone was safe. He also prevented two sets of people from coming in that were not affiliated with us in anyway, and overall was just a really friendly guy. Overall just a really positive experience and I would absolutely recommend The Grand Chapel to anyone.

I realize most people who are reviewing this site are looking for wedding venues. I just wanted to tell my non-wedding story with everyone! We held our company Holiday Party here in December 2012. All aspects of planning, coordinating, meeting, and brainstorming were as easy as you can imagine in a dream! We had multiple games set up, karaoke/dj, a picture booth, and gift table. There was more than enough room in their reception room for our 110'ish people. The catering was spectacular and the bar was much nicer than you'd ever imagine in a chapel! I plan on booking our event here again this year and would recommend it to anyone.

Wow! The Grand Chapel was perfect for our short term planning. We had two months to put everything together, so with catering, flowers and decorating provided it was so easy. The staff was generous and kind, from the manager to the servers. Food scrumptious! Our Halloween theme was achieved with contributions from the staff's own collections. I've been told by family and friends that I was the most relaxed and calm bride ever. I knew everything was under control!

Excellent experience. This is the most beautiful place to get married in Wichita. I wanted to have a traditional church wedding, but since I didn't go to any particular church, there were none in town that would let me get married there. That's when I found The Grand Chapel. It was a church setting at an affordable price. They handled everything for me - all I had to do was get a dress and plan the honeymoon. It went down wonderfully and the food was literally the best food I have ever had! Make sure if you get married here that you have them use their own menu and do the food for you - it is to die for!

I am so, so thrilled my husband and I chose this venue for our wedding. In a year we had three different planners, and I have to say, in the weeks leading up to our wedding day, I was so stressed! But to be perfectly honest, the event went even better than I expected. Dan and Jill were so thoughtful, and even met with us late after hours more than once due to my (now!) husbands schedule. It was a little toasty on the rehearsal day, and I asked the staff to please turn the a/c on earlier than they planned for the wedding, they agreed to do so. I wish I hadn't, because despite it being 100 degrees outside it must of been only 50 degrees in the sanctuary thirty minutes befor our ceremony. Imagine my embarrassment when I had to ask them to turn the a/c back off! Dan smiled and said he had turned it off ten minutes ago. The elevator was down, and we did have an individual in a wheelchair. I guess that's a Rick you take with choosing a venue with so much history though. Again, I couldn't of been more thrilled with everything! I think the new ownership and management is in the right track!

Jill did an absolutely amazing job helping us prepare for our event. She is professional, listens to the clients' needs, and has a great sense of customer service! WE are truly glad we used The Grand Chapel for our event and would recommend this venue to anyone! Of course no event takes place hitch free, but The Grand Chapel is as close as you can get! Reasonably priced, accommodating, would be two words I would use to describe it. I would however consider using a different caterer than Corporate Caterers. They absolutely sucked! I can't say anything nice about their service, their food, their regard for customers. I hope The Grand Chapel finds a different caterer to use as their in house vendor. Again, I would recommend The Grand Chapel to anyone wanting a very nice venue for hosting an event such as a reception, wedding, or party. I would not recommend their in house caterer, Corporate Caterers of Wichita! Look at my review of the caterer and see why...

This is a beautiful place to get married. And the fact that they do the decorating and clean up is great! Had only the wedding there....reception would have been way to expensive. Everything went pretty well, they had a girl there the day of to help and keep everyone running smoothly and she was fantastic. She was fanning me in the lobby before I walked down the isle....it was hot in there and with the dress and all! haha The only thing was that it was sooooo hot in the girls changing room and the table decorations in front weren't what I had picked out...they looked fine, but not exactly what I wanted. But over all it was a beautiful day and we are glad we chose to get married there!

I advise to never use this venue. I was working with Ken Elliott who was supposed to be buying the venue since November of 2014. My wedding is on June 7th, 2015. In December I was told if I put $100 down that it would hold my wedding date 30 days so nobody else could take our day with the bridal show that was coming up in January. During the 30 days, Ken was supposed to contact my minister, send me proofs of the invitations, and email me a quote. I never heard anything from him and I called him to make sure everything was okay and he assured me it was and that he had just been busy since the bridal show. The week of valentine's day, I called again because I still didn't hear anything and the 30 days was up. He said valentine's day is the busiest day of the year for him and to call him the following week. So I said fine and I did. When I called the number was disconnected. The next day a family member tagged me in an article on facebook and that's when I learned that the venue was shut down and back up for sale. So I drove by the grand chapel and found a different number. I called that number and reached somebody else and that person gave me a different number to reach Ken at. I called Ken again and left a voice mail. He never returned me call so I called again and this time Ken answered. He "apologized" and then offered to go to another venue right down the street. It was the 21st century building. He was going to give me a tour that night but never called me back. He stated that the $100 I put down would follow to the other venue. Come to find out, he doesn't have anything to do with the 21st century building. I heard he also owns the serenity inn and breakfast in Wellington. I know it wasn't much money that I lost but I lost a lot of time and had to start over. I found a different venue at villa luna and come to find out, one of their new employees had a bigger issue with Ken and is now in the process of suing him.

I attended a wedding here on 9/28. It was a very warm day and there was no air conditioning. My grandfather recently had a stroke and another elderly person that was there also had a very difficult time getting up the flight of stairs to the chapel. The elevator wasn't working. The sanctuary was beautiful, but it was so hot that no one could enjoy the ceremony. The bridesmaids were handing the bride and groom paper towels to mop the sweat off of themselves during the ceremony. There was one small fan running on the stage. The wedding party were very upset about many things. I was upset about the heat.

During the year that I had my contract signed, the management changed 4 times. I was told many different things by each manager. It was a very frustrating year. I wish I wouldn't have signed the contract and picked somewhere else to have our ceremony. The actual owner was there for my wedding and rehearsal, and was extremely disrespectful and rude. He was not willing to help--it really felt like he hated what he was doing. I wanted to ask why he owned the place if he didn't enjoy being there. The air wasn't on for our rehearsal and we were told it would be. Then we were told the air wouldn't be turned on for our ceremony until an hour before. The elevator was not working, I was told it 'just went out,' but I truly feel it has been out for a while. I was so dissapointed with the customer service we recieved after my first meeting. (The first meeting was great with the manager...then it went down hill--of course after I had signed the contract). I wouldn't recommend this venue to anyone unless the ownership and management changes. Beautiful building to be married in and my ceremony went as planned, but only because I had many family members taking care of the many things the Chapel employees didn't take care of.

This place ruined my wedding the owner is full of lies don't ever ever ever use this place!!! I was promised the planner was to decorate and make all bouquets and boutineers she did nothing at all my girls the last min decorated the chapel and threw together flowers for my bouquet and theirs! It was a horrific experience! The air conditioners didn't work the plug ins came out of the wall when we were doing hair downstairs because dressing rooms were 90 degrees from no air at all! It was the worst ever the elevator didn't work no hot water no air at all other than in the reception hall. We are suing this very very crooked owner for every dime back! Don't ever ever go there!!! My face dropped and poured sweat during the cerimony all my guests were miserable my husband and I had to keep passing a paper towel back and forth to try to get all the sweat pouring off us! So many empty promises and total breech of contract!
