English Hills was everything we needed. The event coordinator was incredible. Flexible, responsive, and kind. She was understanding and I felt like she truly cared about giving us the wedding we dreamed of. The prices were also incredibly reasonable, without sacrificing on quality. I'd recommend this venue again and again!

Alex and English Hills Country Club we’re amazing to work with. We switched venues only two months before our wedding due to COVID restrictions and they were so helpful in making that process much less stressful. 4 days before our wedding we had to make the call to move the reception indoors due to storms and again, English Hills and Alex were so incredibly helpful in making that happen on such short notice. It was a seamless transition not to mention we received so many compliments from our guests on the food. We absolutely loved working with English Hills and with Alex and would 10/10 recommend booking your reception at English Hills. You won’t be disappointed!

This is my 2nd daughter having her wedding at English Hills. They totally go above and beyond for you. I loved that they took care of so many questions and concerns and made my daughters wedding perfect.
We also used the Rose Garden at the 4 mile location for the ceremony and it was perfect!! Great for pictures. We had the reception at the ballroom on West River which is always beautiful. Food was great and highly recommend for a large number of friends and family.

BEYOND pleased with this venue we were in the PGA room at the country club. From the very beginning we felt comfortable and Kim made us feel so special and genuine during the beginning stages of planning. Throughout the year while we were planning every email was answered the day I sent it. They were very informative and helped guide us to the very end.

The day before we went in and spoke to Paul who was going to help manage the night was so kind and quick to help us adjust and move things around that better suited our vision. HE was INCREDIBLE the night of and the staff was so fun and kind the night of the wedding.

The food was amazing, all of our guest kept telling us how good it was. We had one bartender and she kept up with ALL of our guest. It was pretty impressive!

This place was affordable and I will 110% recommend English Hills to anyone that is planning a wedding. Thank you guys again for such awesome work.

Kim and her staff were fabulous! Kim checked in often and was always there when we had questions. She always had time to meet with us in person. Kim made us feel very welcomed. The event center was gorgeous and staff on the wedding day were very attentive and genuinely excited for us. Very affordable! Thank you to all staff and Kim for being with us every step of the way. We highly recommend English Hills!

The staff was great, never made us feel rushed, always friendly and helpful! The food was absolutely delicious, it's been almost a year and we still talk about how good it was!

We had our Son's wedding reception here on New Year's Eve. The Staff was wonderful! The food was incredible and the room looked amazing!! We were very happy with all of the services provided and everyone had a wonderful evening :)

English Hills is a great place to host any event- we had a totally awesome 80's party for my husbands 50th birthday .David from the English Hills staff was so helpful and so great to work with - He made it so convenient to come in and set up for our event - he whelped with the room set up - picking out the colors sashes for the table- Just amazing and so friendly work with. The entire team is amazing so friendly and helpful. the food is always amazing and at a great price .this was my second event that I booked at English Hills and I recommend them to everyone You will be impressed with the quality of service and the price

I had both my ceremony and reception at English Hills Country Club. I could not be happier with how things went! The decorations were beautiful, the staff were so attentive and friendly, the food was amazing, and the office staff made everything easy and worry free during the process of planning! They were so good about any requests that we had and really treated us well. I even received so many compliments from my guests about how good everything was and how professional the staff was. I would definitely recommend this venue!

We had our wedding and reception at the country club. The room was beautiful. The food fantastic (the guests are still raving about it 4 months later). The staff very professional and accommodating.

English Hills has very reasonable rates when it comes to room rental...We had our reception on a Sunday, so the charge of the room was free! (: The food was amazing. They had TONS of options (which we got to sample at one of their wonderful food-tasting events), and we received raving compliments on the venue from several guests.

We had our daughter's wedding reception in the Ballroom at English Hills Terrace and I just want to thank David in the Sales Office who answered all our questions and Shelly the Event Manager for working with us and taking care of anything we needed. Shelley and her crew set up the Ballroom with a mixture of our décor and theirs and it turned out beautiful. We had SO many compliments on how pretty it turned out. With the huge chandelier and the tulle and lights around it on the ceiling and also behind the head table, it just looks elegant......yet you can still make it country chic like the look we went for. Oh, and I cant forget to mention how yummy the food was too! We shopped around last year for a big enough place for our guest list of 300, had good food, and didn't charge drinks "by consumption" and English Hills was the most reasonable by far. I would highly recommend English Hills to the bride out there looking for a venue!

They did such a wonderful job, helping make my wedding a dream! The Terrace Garden was beautiful! The service was fantastic! It was a great venue! I can't thank them enough!

Our experience at English Hills was nothing but spectacular! Everything about it! Their food is great and their customer service is the best we've received! They never once took more than a day to respond to emails and were so flexible accommodating our weekend only availability. We are living out of state currently and they made planning a wedding from 400 miles away so easy! We had our reception in the ballroom and it was beautiful! I would highly, highly recommend them!

We used English Hills for both my and my sisters wedding, both times it was an awesome experience. I was married at the country club and she was married at the terrace. Their customer service is amazing and so is the food. Also the price is great, I have done the research twice and found this to not only be the best deal but also was able to get everything I wanted. Sarah in the office was always very happy to help and make sure we got what we wanted. We also used Linda's centerpieces and she has so many options and it was so convenient that they set up and take down. I would highly recommend English Hills, we truly loved working with them and the atmosphere they provide!

We worked with Linda and Sarah to plan our wedding. We chose English Hills after our original vendor cancelled on us. We were upset by the change at first, but everything happens for a reason and this turned out to be the BEST thing that could have happened for our wedding. Linda and Sarah helped to plan every detail and were always available to answer any question we may have had. We used the British Open room for our wedding, using a set up that had not been used before. The venue was so willing to work with us for our desires. We also requested that the path between the PGA and British Open rooms be shoveled, and it was done perfectly. Our day turned out perfectly. Having the staff available for help was great, and I cannot stress how easy wedding day was with having both rooms set up already for our use. Thank you for working so well with us!

English Hills was a great place to hold my wedding reception. It was big enough to hold all my guests, the food was great, and they were so easy to work with whenever I had an idea or wanted to set something in stone. They were always very quick to respond if not available at the moment I needed them, and I had many compliments about my venue of choice. I would recommend the venue to anyone. They hold open houses to sample the food, and have multiple rooms that you can choose to host your party in based on how much space you need.

I found English Hills after a venue I had planned fell through. Linda emailed right away and I went to view the venue the very next day. I instantly fell in LOVE! I had my ceremony in their beautiful rose garden at the country club and the reception in the PGA room. The staff was super helpful and nice and helped me through all aspects of my wedding. The food was AMAZING!! The quality and quantity was just right! If I had to do it all over again, I would use English Hills. I tell anyone and everyone how wonderful the staff and location is!

We planned our wedding out of state and the staff at English Hills did a great job helping us prepare from so far away. The staff was very quick to respond to calls and e-mails. The event space was beautiful and the food was amazing. Overall, they were a wonderful place to celebrate our wedding day.

We had our wedding reception in the PGA room at English Hills Country Club. The room was decorated beautifully (went with Linda's centerpieces) and the food was amazing. We had a buffet and there was plenty for everyone. English Hills was easy to work with beforehand and very professional the night of the reception. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic service, wonderful food, excellent venue. We had concerns about another ceremony that was happening during ours - that their guests might wander the wrong way and end up in our photos - but Aubrey took care of everything for us, including having human shields to make sure it didn't happen! We really appreciated that. We were also grateful for the open houses that EH hosted - we were able to book our officiant and DJ through those. Overall, the perfect day was accentuated by everything English Hills did for us. Thank you!

SPECTACULAR!!...if there is a word more descriptive than this, it slips me at the moment. Speaking from the mother of the bride's point of view, I can tell you that upon meeting Linda, the wedding coordinator in charge of both facilities, I immediately admired her warm approach and enthusiastic energy. One can tell from the get go, that she truly LOVES what she's doing, believes in the flawless customer service she and her staff can provide, gives gentle guidance to couples and their families who are wrestling with too many decisions to be made all at once, BUT still leaves the final decision up to her client(s), and has a talented eye for detail! Often times, she works well beyond the normal 9-5 workday (ie. checking and answering emails from home, etc.), and is willing to be flexible around the client's busy schedule. Her staff is next to none, working tirelessly on set up, last minute changes, preparing & providing excellent, palatable food service, bartending and tear-down...all with a smile on their faces. This translates into your guests feeling comfortable and welcome at your celebration! Really? When you think about it, isn't that a top priority on anyone's entertaining list? This venue DELIVERS and gets my 100% stamp of satisfaction!! Thank you, thank you, Linda & staff for making my daughter's dream wedding a reality!

If I could give English Hills more than 5 stars, I would. They are professional, helpful, and kind. They made my wedding day an absolute dream. The food they serve is MORE than worth the price, and the decorations were so very beautiful. It was my fairytale wedding, with no stress involved. They even reassured me when I was freaking out! I could not have asked for a better venue, tastier food, or nicer people.

We had our reception in the ballroom at the Terrace, it was BEAUTIFUL!!! Everything turned out so nice and they were great to work with! The food was unreal! I am cheap which is what first drew me to English Hills but after seeing how it turned out I would have picked it even if money wasn't a concern!

This is the first venue we looked at and instantly chose. We were in the Terrace building in the Continental room. It was a beautiful set up. I loved that the bar was seperate from the main area, it gave more room for sitting, eating and dancing. The people that worked there were very nice and helpful. They also did our food which was absolutely fantastic. The only downfall was that it was extremely hot in the sumertime. We had an August wedding, which meant it was a hot day but inside the venue was just as hot.

I had my reception at English Hills (The Continental Room) on December 29, 2012. The entire staff at English Hills was incredibly helpful from the first time we met with them until after my event. The food here is phenomenal (I had the "All Our Favorites" package), and the packages give you a ton for your money! They were very easy to work with, especially with allowing us in mid-week prior to the wedding to decorate, which was easy to do since I was off-season, and any time we asked for a change or addition, they were on top of it immediately. Linda did all of my centerpieces and did a beautiful job! She listened to what I had to say and made exactly what I wanted for a fraction of the price I could have made them for. Linda also did my wedding flowers for my bridal party. They were absolutely stunning! Even though they were fake flowers, they were incredibly lifelike and no one would have known the difference! It is great to be able to keep my bouquet exactly as it was the day of my wedding. Overall, I have no complaints about English Hills, and I would recommend them to anyone who wants a great reception hall for a good price. Five stars all the way!

We were married on August 18, 2012. My husband and I would very highly recommend English Hills for your ceremony and reception. We had an outdoor summer ceremony in the Rock Garden at the 4 mile location and our reception in the British Open room (holds about 135 guests) and everything went perfectly. Everything that we had planned was followed through. They will set out your decorations and gifts if you want on the tables. We had appetizers, beer, wine and pop, and the italian buffet. I can't tell you how many people told us that was the best food they have had at a wedding before. It was truly delicious. We also had the ice cream sundae bar which included a great selection of toppings and hot fudge! You only pay for the food, no room fee, all linen, chairs, tables etc are included. We couldn't be happier with the service. Everything went wonderfully. Thank you English Hills for your flexibility, time and attention to details. I had the 2011 prices which were good value as well. Truly a wonderful company that is willing to work with you and make sure your day is exactly how you want it to be.

They were very flexible with the military schedule. Our room was very clean, and set up exactly how we had planned. Everyone was more than helpful starting from day one. The wait staff were all dressed very professional. The food and drinks were both great!

English Hills was beyond amazing for our wedding!! The food was so great our guests are still talking about it. I was a very stressed bride and they really helped me to get through the final stages of the reception planning. They were beyond patient with me while we got the final things figured out. The only way I would ever do a wedding (renewal) in the future is if I could use them again they were amazing and made everything beautiful!!!

Our wedding at English Hills Country Club was amazing! From the beginning, Linda and Sarah were extremely helpful and professional. We changed the location of our ceremony about 6 months before the date due to a family health issue and they were very gracious and understanding. Our room was gorgeous, everyone loved the food (Especially the bread! Yum!), and our bartender, Denise, was great! And considering all of this was at an amazing rate, I would (and have) definitely recommend EH to any bride!

English Hills met absolutly all of my needs. They worked with me on my wedding day in setting up early, they did not charge more than what was agreed and they were very friendly and helpful.

We used English Hills Country Club for our wedding and could not have been happier with our experience. We were put in a bind with losing our reception venue 4 months prior to our wedding and English Hills literally saved the day. Due to the circumstances we had very little time to finalize our reception with more than 200 guests. Linda and the entire event staff welcomed us with open arms and took care of everything. The customer service was excellent, I will never forget Linda saying "Oh honey, we will take care of everything" and from that moment on, all the stress and worry went away because I knew she would help make our event exactly what we wanted. Our food was spectacular, the event staff the night of our reception were amazing, and our reception room was perfect! We still get compliments about our reception and all of it is due to English Hills. They were amazing from start to finish and I would recommend them any day of the week!

Unlike some of the other reviews, we had a great experience with English Hills. Our reception was at the County Club location on 4 Mile Rd. We received many rave reviews from our guests about the food quality and the servers were excellent, especially our bartender.

The best feature for our reception was the per person charge for the bar. If you anticipate a large bar bill, this is a really great option for those on a budget.

English Hills is SO great! This place has been incredibly helpful, transparent, and honest all along the way. They helped us get the reception room of our dreams and at a very good price. The customer service has been unbelievable, and they have bent over backwards to help us out. I recommend this venue to any and everyone!

The employee's of english Hills are amazing, any little question or concern I had was answered the same day through email. They allowed us to set up the night before which was such a huge help. The food was phenomenal, all of our guests were raving about how great it was. We had a little over 200 guests in the ballroom and it fit all of us very well. The only thing that I wasnt a fan of was that they charged $150 for lights behind the head table and another $150 to turn on the lights above the dance floor, but hey, it looked beautiful and was worth it in the grand scheme of things. I would highly recommend this venue!

The food was incredible. Many of my guests talked about it for a long time afterward which is weird because the tasting beforehand was not impressive. We had the Windsor room, the smallest of the three. It was perfect for us. Our bartender was amazing. The only bad experience was that they forgot a letter in my name on the sign and didn't change it even after saying something.

English Hills was great for my wedding! We got married in the garden, had the reception in the Windsor Hall and the staff was wonderful! They worked with me from start to finish, and knowing that brides are very busy would call to remind me of things that needed to be done. They were very supportive and did an awesome job!

They were very professional and answered all our questions.Linda and shelley were so pleasant and patient to work with.the food was good and they let us in a day early to decorate.only complaint i had was that we paid for the premium bar and every time someone would ask the bartender to make a drink he kept saying he cant make that. For example the groom asked for a amaretto sour and he told him the same thing..finally after complaining to the room manager he changed his tune.also they didnt have the cake cutting utensils out and it took them forever to cut and serve the cake.also there was only butter knives to cut into the prime rib,the guests were complaining about that..but other than the little glitches i would highly recommend them if your on a budget.its a great value for the price.

The food was great, the staff was helpful, and the wedding went smooth. Not being able to rehearse indoors in case of rain was a little nerve-wrecking but in the end it worked out well. I would highly recommend English Hills, especially the British Open room.

I RECENTLY ATTENDED A CLASS REUNION AT THE COUNTRY CLUB ON 4 MILE ROAD. WHILE THE FOOD WAS GOOD, THE SET UP WAS CONFUSING AND THE ONLY FORKS WE WERE GIVEN, WERE SALAD FORKS...EVEN FOR PASTA. HOW DO YOU EAT PASTA WITH THAT? THEY ONLY USED FLIMSY PAPER NAPKINS WHICH SEEMED TACKY FOR AN EVENT. THE SERVING STAFF, HOWEVER, WAS EXCELLENT AND FRIENDLY. JUST A COUPLE OF CHANGES COULD HAVE MADE THIS EXPERIENCE SO MUCH BETTER.

We really enjoyed the Country Club venue, but we received mixed responses a lot. The head salesperson would say one thing, but then forget and say she could offer us the previous offer. She even got a bit snippy in email when I asked for a seating arrangement clarification the week of my wedding, and when she made things a little confusing putting the additional table number in an odd spot and I tried to do it a certain way, I got charged an extra $100 when it was set up wrong for the day of. I recommend talking to Taylor instead.

I would recommend this place. I have been to several receptions there and also had my own there. The only problem we had was they forgot to put out the appetizers in the evening, but once we realized that and talked to them they took care of it. They ended up giving us the appetizers half off because mostly everyone had left since it was so late in the evening. They do let you decorate pretty much however you want to. For the price, the food is great and the enviroment was wonderful too. We found that it was cheaper than a lot of places for us because of the bar. We wanted a full bar and most places charge by the bottle and we knew we would go through a lot.

Gilmore was in the process of buying English Hills and communication was somewhat difficult while they were making changes. Changes had to be made to my planning as well but in the end my our wedding was beautiful and everyone was happy!

Decorations were beautiful. The catering however was not spectacular. The appetizers and deserts were great but the presentation of the actual meals was somewhat sloppy and the food was just so-so. The Prime Rib was very good but the Tilapia lacked flavor. The service during the event was pretty good though they did forget to do something we had agreed upon and they didn't ask the guests if they wanted champagne or sparkling wine so all the adults got champagne.

They were helpful with the planning and getting exactly what you wanted. They offered extras that I wouldn't of even thought they offered...mic, guest book stand, tables for extra things (d.j. and unity candle). Some things that I didn't mike so much is they charge for every little thing.... My grandparents do not eat that much. I think they should offer a senior dis. Other things ( I was knid if upset by this) I had extra cake and they said they would box it up for me... when I went to go get it they said there was no cake there.

I was not impressed with this venue whatsoever. The outside location (rose garden) that we were married in was pretty but contained no roses whatsoever and was told when I booked in winter that rose bushes would be in full bloom by July. They were not flexible with anything we suggested. We wanted sparkler exit but told us no. They wouldn't budge on pricing for food even though we were paying for 150 guests. The only beverages that came with the buffet package was water, coffee, and hot tea. Who wants coffee and hot tea on hot summer day. So we ended up having to purchase unlimited beverages and they did not make this known to our guests. I feel as if they "nickel and dimed" every thing after signing the contract with them. For the head table we weren't even given vases to place our bouquets even when they told us they would provide those. Speaking of our bouquets, one of the employees does decorations for English Hills at a reasonable price. I had her design and build our bouquets, boutineeres, corsages, and centerpieces for what I thought was a reasonable price. It turns out our bouqets were falling apart before the ceremony even ended. I am not happy with the service English Hills provided whatsoever! The day-of coordinator however was amazing, and made my plannning at this terrible venue bearable.

They were not as accommodating as I wanted them to be for the amount of money we spent. I was disappointed with certain parts of the venue and staff.

Our reception was alright, we had a little problem getting the appetizers out that we had paid for, but it was taken care of. We got a new event coordinator right before our wedding but that wasn't too big of a problem, we just liked the other girl better. Overall the staff was great, and it was a good time. The food was a little cold, but it tasted good. Budget wise it was a little high. I would recommend it.

We had our Reception here (not the ceremony). The building is getting kind of old. The fact that you don't have to pay for each individual item, like the food, plates, linens, etc was really nice! They did promise us that the horribly choppy driveway was going to be repaved before our wedding and it was not. There are different entrances depending on which room you use. In the planning process, we always went through a nice doorway. For our reception, we entered in the back and it definitely looked like a back door... not cool!

I used the Four Mile road location. The facility was kind of old, and they had a big tacky sign up for the pro shop... all that I could deal with for the excellent price I got. (I know this is a long review, but keep reading... it's not all negitive).

What I could not deal with is the level of customer service I received. We'll call her "Carrie". First off, Carrie made me conform to her schedule. I was working 6-7 days a week, with my hours being 8am-8pm. She would not make concessions for me to come in and view the venue on a Sunday. I could not do it after work because she wanted me to arrive at the facility, which was across town, by 8pm. They haven't invented teleportation yet. I had to take a Saturday off of work to come out and view the venue because Carrie did not want to come in on a Sunday (the only day that I had a 75% chance of not working).

Carrie did not listen to what I wanted. She chose how to set my room up without consulting me, and then charged me to "re-set" the room stating that all the linens and dishes were already in place. This was the Wednesday before our Saturday wedding. When I arrived at the PGA room later that afternoon (Wednesday) to help my decorators, much to my surprise, nothing was on the tables. Carrie charged me $100 to "re-set" a room that was not set up in the first place! I got charged $100 for the staff to move 4 banquet tables from one side of the room to another. When I brought that up to Carrie, she had no response. I did not get my money back. I was so upset (and still am 6 months later). I feel that I've been ripped off.

On a brighter note, our room captain was awesome. She handled things beautifully, and my guests had a great time! If you do go through with using English hills I suggest the vegetable lasagna. It sounds gross, but it was wonderful. The Alfredo sauce on it was to die for. Steer clear of the kielbasa and sauerkraut. It was not as good as I thought it was in the taste test, and when I brought that up to Carrie after the wedding, all I got was more excuses.

If you are looking for a decent venue when you're on a budget, and you're willing to put up with the customer service rep's crap, this is a good venue. If you value customer service, steer clear of English Hills.

I had my wedding there and would not recomend the place. I had plated food and it was terrible it was not cooked or prepared as agreed. They ended our reception early even though we paid extra for the time. They never returned my phone calls when questions wore asked. We also got our centerpiece and decor from them and they looked great however we had some decorations missing.
