Let’s be honest: as the wife, I know for certain that my husband would not think to write a review, so I’m just going to write it for him. WE’RE OBESESSED with The Gentlemen’s Tux Club! They are incredible human beings, and they carry practically every suit and tux you can think of. My wedding dress was a bridal ivory, which is the hardest “white” to match to a suit. My bridal shop let me borrow the detachable bow from the back of my dress (because they said how much they loved TGTC) and the tux they pulled out matched PERFECTLY! Plus, the price was too good for how gorgeous the tux was. We were so impressed from the beginning with how professional and wonderful the team was and can’t wait to recommend them to every engaged couple we know in the future! My husband felt like James Bond on our wedding day (his dream) and can’t wait to put it on again for a future event. Thank you, Gentlemen’s Tux Club! -

When my now-husband and I got engaged, I knew that our wedding would be something a little bit off the beaten track. Instead of a modern tux or suit, I wanted something hailing a bit more from the 1800s era. I did consider using one of the many online suit rental places, because all of the groomsmen were from out of town. However, I did read some reviews saying that if there were issues with fit, it was sometimes a scramble to get the right size to the right location in time. In addition, Men's Warehouse's website only showed that they had tailcoats, which wasn't what I wanted. So, instead, we decided to pay a visit to the Gentlemen's Tux Club, and I'm glad we did.
I showed Vanessa a picture of what I had in mind, a cutaway coat with a puff tie. She immediately brought out a perfect match, and shortly thereafter we had my husband's measurements taken, colors picked, and deposits taken. There was a small issue with the email when I submitted my father's measurements, but I managed to clear it up with them in person. All of the groomsmen submitted their measurements online, and the pick up went smoothly. They requested that they pick up the suits two days before the wedding, so if there were fit issues, they would have time to correct them. However, they were flexible when I said my father couldn't be in town by then, and he just showed up the day before. The men looked super classy, and the drop off also went well. User1024050 Sent on 11/22/2012We got married in August 2012 and had our reception at The US Grant. We started the tux process in Feb and our wedding coordinator -- Wynn Austin -- recommended The Gentlemen's Tux Club to us, which was only a 10 minute walk away from the hotel.
In short, we highly recommend going to The Tux Club over any other chain/national brand because you're going to get personalized attention from an owner (John) who really knows his stuff, at prices that are as good, if not better, than the major rental retailers.
During the entire process, John was courteous, professional, responsive, and his selection of tuxedos were modern and extensive. Our groomsmen loved their tuxedos and they looked absolutely fantastic with their black skinny ties and black suspenders.

Super helpful and courteous: while John did provide guidance, he let the customer (us) ultimately choose what we wanted. Wasn't pushy at all.
Knowledgeable & experienced: a couple of our groomsmen submitted measurements that didn't look right to John, so he emailed us to let us know and said that it wouldn't be a problem to take care of it when they came in for their fitting.
Prompt & attentive: responded very quickly to all of our emails and even called us to confirm when we’d be in the store for our fittings so that he’d be sure to be available for us.
Location: seems like if you’re going to have an event in downtown SD, you can’t beat the convenience. It was only a couple of blocks from our hotel to easily coordinate the fittings and return the tuxes the day after our wedding.
In summary, awesome service and fantastic selection. Many thanks to John for helping make our groomsmen look their best for our wedding day! -
User1139028 Sent on 04/19/2013My husband had a great experience with John! We went in a few times so he could try things on. John was very attentive and nice to deal with. He offered great advice in choosing the fit of the tux and helped with the details such as long vs. bow ties, vest, pocket squares, etc. Ultimately, we decided to work with him because of his excellent service. The groomsmen looked very well put together with classic tuxes; modern cuts and details helped keep a fresh, contemporary look. John did a great job fitting all the groomsmen so that they didn't look like prom escorts in ill fitting rentals. They were nicely tailored and the quality of tuxes were great. It was also important to us to support local businesses and we appreciated all his attention and professionalism.
