Absolutely loved this venue. My husband and I had our wedding here at the end of last year. The garden is what made me confirm to myself that this is where we will get married at. Christi is very organized and had everything flowing while we were enjoying our wedding. The garden was absolutely beautiful even though it was close to winter. The food was amazing, a ton of options to chose from and everybody keeps telling me about it. You have to see this venue for yourself to really see how truly gorgeous it is. Our wedding day was prefect and I would not change anything about it, and Christi and the Gatehouse is the reason why. A big contributor to our decision to pick this venue was the price. We had a small wedding but didn’t want to spend ~$15,000 for just the venue. The Gatehouse offers everything you need, food, drinks, reception hall, the wedding cake, etc. in the price, and it didn’t break the bank.

The quality of service at the Gatehouse is top-notch. We had our wedding in February and Christi and the rest of the staff were incredibly kind and professional. I was able to perfectly customize everything, and their process is incredibly stress-free. The food, cake, and venue were amazing. I’ll never forget my wedding here!

My husband and I live out of state but are both from Louisiana so our families still live there. Ever since we got engaged, we had been looking at wedding venues throughout Baton Rouge and New Orleans, but not seriously. It wasn't until unforeseen circumstances in my family (illness) that made the decision-making process more critical. Thus our wedding date moved up sooner than we originally intended. We only had a few short weeks to fully plan our wedding.

After looking at what seemed like an endless sea of options (e.g., deciding between a large vs. intimate space, in-house catering/decor vs. using outside vendors, etc.), we were overwhelmed to say the least.

We decided if we were going to get married in just a few short weeks, we had to go with something that had it all so we could have peace of mind. I finally came across The Gatehouse and ultimately chose it for several reasons.

The location was suitable for most of our guests, available parking, the indoor space was just right for the amount of expected guests (~75 people) with an outdoor covered space for overflow, and it was all-inclusive for food/beverage, decor, hospitality/coordination, and DJ/entertainment.

Christi made planning for our big day seamless. Before the wedding, she guided us on what was customizable/provided options, and allowed us to include our preferences on what we wanted. She provided a timeline of the day which was a huge help and weight off our shoulders. This allowed us to focus on other things like getting our marriage license, wedding attire, music playlist, extra decor/flowers/guest favors, and booking our officiant, photographer, and videographer.

The day of the wedding was smooth. Christi and Jen were our Day of Coordinators. Before and after the Ceremony, we were walked through what was to happen so we didn't have to think much about what was coming next. It really helped with my nerves.

After the Ceremony, we had so much fun at our Reception, and our guests had a blast. It was an absolute hit, from the food and cake to the music. Everyone had many nice things to say about our wedding day and loved how beautiful the space looked. They still talk about it to this day.

We want to thank Christi and The Gatehouse crew for making our day special and a truly unforgettable experience. We recommend The Gatehouse to those looking for something more intimate and a stress relief from planning such an eventful day like a wedding, anniversary, or party. Thanks again!

If you are looking for a special place where every detail is taken care of for you, then book this venue. You won't regret it. My niece had her wedding and reception there last night. Everyone, from the event planner, to the DJ, to the photographers, to the videographer to the wait/service staff were OUTSTANDING. They even packed up the leftovers and put them in our car -for us -- no one has ever done that for us!!! They guided us through every step, making sure everyone was comfortable. Can't say enough about the whole experience. Everyone on the staff made us feel like we were part of their own family. Special shout out to Kristie, our hostess. She even took pity on me personally (I was the wedding officiant for my niece) when I was limping badly from my shoes - and searched and found me a comfortable pair to wear for the rest of the evening and our photographers promised to crop the photos so no one would know I did not have my extremely painful pretty shoes on ( Word to the Wise -never buy shoes for looks - always go with comfort-LOL)

Booking The Gatehouse was hands down the best wedding decision we made. Christi was an absolute dream to work with while planning a wedding from another state. The day of, everything went so smoothly and I could not have asked for anything more. It was the perfect venue for our wedding and reception. The grounds were beautiful and provided endless photo opportunities. I can’t wait to get back our professional photos!

My fiance and I are from two separate states both not being the Louisiana area the gate house venue was a perfect place to have our Tim Burton inspired nightmare before Christmas wedding Christy was such an enormous help she's very attentive through phone calls and emails there's also a bridal portal on the gatehouse website that was so much help along with the three ring binder that I received for homework helped make this experience and almost flawless one. The food was amazing the room was beautiful she allowed us to upgrade a package to include our very own theme.thank you for everything that you've done Ms Christy we really appreciate you and the gatehouse in baton rouge Louisiana comes highly recommended from the prince family here in Killeen Texas

Wedding planning was way more hectic than I expected, The Gatehouse was the easiest part of my experience, everything was beautiful and Christi was always one call away.

Choosing The Gatehouse was the easiest decision I made during the entire wedding planning process. Christi and her crew are amazing!

So glad we picked this venue for our wedding!!!! It was absolutely beautiful and the food was amazing. Christy made everything so easy and worked with us through the entire process and made the day smooth and perfect. We are from out of town, so the biggest thing was how much was included in the prices! It was practically a one stop shop for everything we needed!

When we got engaged we immeidately knew we wanted to get married at The Gatehouse. Being my very first phone call to check the availibilty I was elated to hear I could get married in 6 months. My first meeting I was greeted with a planning binder and a list of "to-do's". Throughout the planning process all I had to do was shoot an email or a quick call to go over what we had in mind. Our cooridnator, Christ Edwards is the best I've ever encountered. All of our guests were able to be guests and not have to worry about setting up or taking down a thing. The day of the wedding was seemless! She checked up on me making sure everyone was having a great time, kept the timeline going perfecting all the while my family and friends danced the night away. I would 100% reccomend getting married at The Gatehouse if you're on the fence. Best experience of my life.

Christi and her staff are the best. I was so undecided in the decorations that I just gave her my colors and she worked her magic!!! Smooth from start to finish. Food was GREAT, my guest are still talking about it 5 months later.

This is a long overdue review, but as we found out back in March we were having a baby, this got pushed back but finally wanted to post. Christi and her staff at The Gatehouse were BEYOND spectacular! From our first meetings with her, she was determined to help us in the planning stages to have the best wedding and reception possible. She always made sure to double check on certain things, like when we weren’t interested in saving our wedding cake for a first anniversary, she asked more than once “are you sure” just to make sure it was what we wanted and didn’t miss out on something that could’ve been important. And speaking on the cake, the cake we fell in love with was a past design on shown on the old venue website that she had for the time being retired, but when we said that was one we liked the most, well, that's the cake we got! There were certain decor things that we changed here and there from initial meetings that didn’t come close to tripping her up, and on the day her placement of our decor was nothing short of perfect. Day of the wedding, Christi and her staff were on point every step of the way. Christi numerous times checked on us to make sure there was nothing we needed. She even caught my wife and I when we went to get food the first time to ask if we wanted her and her staff to make our plates for us. We were fine with making them ourselves, but were both blown away at that level of caring. Let me just say that if you are looking for a venue, go with the Gatehouse. It is a gorgeous venue (as they do some degree of seasonal decorations themselves already), the food and music done in-house can’t be beat, and the simple fact that you have a venue, music, caterer and wedding planner all in one, run by a top-notch lady, makes this a perfect place to hold a wedding.

Even though I had no idea how to plan a wedding, I had the most beautiful wedding ever. Christi did the most amazing job with everything. She was so helpful and full of positivity and ideas. All of my guests are still telling me how beautiful everything was and how wonderful they thought my wedding was. They should be telling Christi because without her none of that would've been possible. The Gatehouse is definitely a venue that I will recommend again and again. Everyone that works there really cares about making your event special and they really hit their mark every time. Having our wedding here really was probably the best decision I made during the whole planning process. At the Gategouse almost everything is included in their packages and it really just helps everything else come together and fall into place. If you are looking for a venue around Baton Rouge definitely put the Gategouse on your list, you wont be disappointed.

I chose to have my Mom's 90th Birthday celebration in Baton Rouge, at The Gatehouse in August 2018. My priorities were a beautiful, luxurious Southern venue, great food/wines, indoors (August is hot) , creative & meticulous planner, music/dancing, guest capacity of 80-100. All of my expectations were met exceedingly by Christi at The Gatehouse. From the first phone call to her walking my family out to the car at the end of the party, Christi's many years of experience were realized.
After meeting with her at the venue, all details of the party were planned via email/phone calls. All details were carried out with excellence& joy. Courteous and prompt attention to every minute detail took all stress from me for this important life event for my Mom. Christi treats her clients as her own family. She provides all services for a seamless event tailored for full enjoyment by all, truly an all inclusive event, no surprise charges...no surprises.
Communication for a large event is primary. Christi leaves nothing assumed , nor unconfirmed. In my case she confirmed confirmations !
The Gatehouse ballroom and grounds provide the perfect setting for any occasion. Parking is more than ample for your large event. A lavishly appointed "Brides Room" is available. Any special needs are attended to (including strained relationships among the guests) The ballroom is the ultimate in Southern charm and beauty. Christi and her team reflect the same.
The grounds are lavishly designed for year round use. Picture perfect settings are at every turn. The setting is so beautiful that not much else is needed. However, Christi shines in suggesting from her varied array of fine linens, candelabra, anything for tablescapes, music. If you desire a "WOW!" detail, she has it for you. She will creatively design for your look. Flowers: Christi quickly referred me to Billy Heromans for the most excellence in flower creations. Christi received the order and saw to the correct placement of the order.
Crhisti quickly gets to know her clients and creates a custom celebration that perfectly reflects the guest(s) of honor.
Food/wines/beverages: I watched as our 100+ guests returned to the delicious, huge food buffet, not once, but twice in many cases. The bar was very busy. Reminded me of Thanksgiving with my family ! Excellent wines offered. The packages offered were most helpful in planning.
Traffic flow in this venue has been well thought out. Moving from the bar, food , gardens, bathrooms, and visiting from table to table with guests are so easy. During your event, Christi and her team move about, making sure all guests have exactly what they need/want. You and your guests only notice that everything is attended to. I've hosted many large parties, 2 large weddings for our daughters. I'm a control freak. Never have I relaxed completely and let someone take care of everything....until The Gatehouse. I have found venues that have good food, but the setting is lacking. Or the venue is dramatic, scenic, yet the food lacks, details fall by the wayside. The Gatehouse truly has it all. Christi and her team make all your dreams come true for your special event. And, the pricing is truly all inclusive.
My mom was so blessed, honored, had so much fun at her party. Christi had set her up in an antique setee in order to see & be seen by her guests, and for them to sit and visit with her. Mom's party fun continues today as her guests are still calling, telling her of details they'd remembered at The Gatehouse, how that party was really what a 90th Birthday celebration should be !
I'd return here anytime for any type of gathering for the most excellent in client service, professional planning , lavish setting, outstanding food, organized FUN. Please bring your event here. We knew that the Gatehouse was the perfect place to get married as soon as we walked in the room! Inside and out, this venue is so beautiful. It also helped that Christy was so easy and fun to work with. She took the stress of getting married off of us and into her own hands. From food and cake to decorations, she did it all! Where do I start?!!!! It was love at first sight....literally. I had a list of venues to go checkout, The Gatehouse was my first stop. And when I tell you I immediately fell in love, I really did. I didn't even go to the other ones I had on my list. The Gatehouse met our expectations and more. We are so thankful for Christie and all her help during our wedding planning. She really went over and beyond to make sure everything goes smoothly and to make sure we are happy. The venue was magical. The cake was amazing. Every little detail was just perfect. I can go on and on and on about how happy we are to find the Gatehouse, but it'll take ALL day. So I highly recommend The Gatehouse. It was worth every penny!!!!!

They were so on the ball and very helpful. Any last minuet thing we needed they were able to provide. My son actually blacked out because he locked his knees and they were right there on the spot to help him and help one of our guest take care of him until the vows were finished. I loved how there was someone there just to take care of the bride and groom and make them plates.

I chose The Gatehouse for our corporate annual Christmas party and featured a Casino theme, with gaming tables brought in by a vendor. Not only was I completely impressed with this venue, but I had great feedback as well from our employees about the food and the ambiance. Christi was very helpful throughout the planning process - quick in her email responses, also an extremely knowledgable and professional event planner. I was uncertain the layout would work with the additional gaming tables. But she and my casino vendor corresponded and I could not have been more pleased with seeing it all come together. There isn't a detail that was left out. The event staff hung additional lighting over the gaming tables and also closed in the outdoor patio with drapes and set up space heaters to keep to space comfortable as the evening temps were in the 40s. Both indoor and outdoor spaces was beautifully decorated for the Holidays. The services and professionalism surpassed the affordable price. I'd recommend The Gatehouse to anyone interested in a moderately sized, intimate venue.

I had my wedding here on October 28, 2017. I highly recommend the Gatehouse! Christi was very helpful and the forms they have on the Gatehouse website made the planning super easy. I had no anxiety on my wedding day knowing everything was taken care of by Christi and the rest of the staff! Everything went smoothly and everyone had so much fun! I have heard nothing but complements from the guests :-)

I was very stressed coming into the planning process for my wedding and Christi did everything she possibly could (and beyond!) to make sure that was all handled. She listened to my concerns and my ideas and utilized all of the décor and tools she already had (was very impressed with the stock) to make my wedding exactly what I had pictured and brought to her via pinterest & Instagram. She guided us through the ENTIRE NIGHT I felt like I had my own personal assistant and I had no idea that we would be getting that kind of service. While taking care of everything detail for me, The Gate House staff catered to every personal need I had also. The atmosphere and setting were perfect. Our guest were impressed with the overlook and flow of the entire day. I was a stress free Bride, which is top priority for the big day! I would recommend The Gate House to my closesystem of friends and family!

So my Granddaughter had a surprise 55th Anniversary luncheon here at the Gatehouse! The Gatehouse was so lovely and more. Words can not describe how much I loved the place. We had just flooded and it was amazing how loving and caring the staff and Christi was. This luncheon made our 55th anniversary AMAZING!!! The food was so good! Outside was amazing! We took picture by the pretty bridge with the pond and by the swing! I would recommended this place to anyone! This day is one day I will never forget and I'm glad the Gatehouse was there to make my day perfect!

Everything about our rehearsal supper was perfect! Excellent food, great music and beautiful surroundings! Several guests remarked on the kindness and graciousness of the wait staff as they served during dinner. Christi is so easy to work with. I had my wedding here almost a year ago, and I cannot tell you how many people are STILL telling me how amazing it was. The food, the venue, the decor - everything was beyond fabulous. As the bride I expected to be completely stressed out and have a pretty intense day but I could not have been more wrong. From the moment I stepped into the building, Christi and her staff did the most phenomenal job of taking care of every single thing. I can truly say it was one of the most memorable days of my life thanks to the staff. Anyone looking to get married needs to look into going here for their service and DEFINITELY for their reception. I cannot say enough good things about The Gatehouse. From starting to plan to the actual ceremony, it could not have been a more flawless experience. This is a fantastic location. We had about 100 guests, and we had no issues fitting everyone in. There's also a spacious outside area, where guests can mingle and the music isn't so loud, so it's really twice the space. It also looks beautiful at night.

The package we got included the fee for the wedding cake and the DJ service, so in the end, it was also the best value we found of the other venues in the Baton Rouge area.

It was the perfect day and the perfect wedding. Christi worked so well with us. It was so beautiful and we didn't have to worry about anything. All my guest said it was the best wedding/reception they've been too. They loved the venue and the food!

My husband and I had our wedding at The Gatehouse in July. It was everything we wanted! The venue is beautiful, the food was great, and the decor was exactly what I wanted. Christi took care of everything and made the planning process very easy. She has wedding planning down to a science and her planning guide simplifies the decision-making process. She is so organized and it makes planning run smoothly. The day of the wedding was stress-free! It was an amazing experience and we were all so happy with the venue and the services provided through The Gatehouse. If you are looking for a venue in Baton Rouge, The Gatehouse has so much to offer!

The Gatehouse was amazing! It is such a beautiful venue that feels like you're outside without completely being exposed to the weather - gorgeous gazebo, water elements, fountain, bridge, covered seating... They include many services and amenities that other vendors seemed to charge separate for... The soft drinks, tea, coffee, cake, cake stand, DJ, basic table settings, imprinted napkins, cake cutter, toasting flutes, etc. were all included in most packages! We were able to customize our cakes without additional fees. We provided a list of music to the DJ - for the ceremony and reception. We were able to add on little decorative touches for minimal additional costs. Everyone raved about how good the food was and they had an extremely flexible bar tab setup to where I didn't feel like I was paying for a lot of alcohol no one was drinking.
The best part that I tell others about though is the Couples 'to go' box!! They provided (and loaded into our getaway car) boxes and containers of a taste of pretty much everything that was served at the reception - labeled, with utensils, etc. We LOVED digging into that once we settled in to our hotel! Cause you know you don't eat at your own reception... AND they boxed up and labeled ALL of the leftovers and sent them home with my family! We were able to all get back together the next day and share it! And my cake topper was boxed and wrapped ready for the freezer - can't wait to dig into it in April... the cake was sooo good!
Communication was so easy too - we'd email back and forth and I would always get a a quick response to any questions or changes in plans or decisions ( you know how us brides can change our minds...). Lastly, the coordination at the event was flawless - Christie and an assistant were at my beckon call, but also making sure everyone was where they were supposed to be and that everything was keeping with a schedule - without it feeling rushed in any way.

The only thing I didn't like is not being able to taste the food that was provided before our wedding. But other than that everything looked so beautiful after it was decorated.

This was such a great experience working with the staff at the Gatehouse. Everything was fantastic! Everyone had a great time and raved about how great the food was and how perfect the venue was set up for our wedding and reception. Even the staff joined me in a line dance which was so fun! This was the best choice by far to have our wedding! Everything was PERFECT! And for all the services they provide, we found them to be the best price as well. They not only made our wedding our dream wedding, they made it affordable. There was not one single complaint or thing I'd change about my experience with the Gatehouse, from planning to the actually wedding, everything was perfect. PERFECT. From the food, to the music (which we had very particular requests for), the cake, the drinks, everything they did with ease and I never once had to stress over any of it. Not one single thing was incorrectly done. The process exceeded our expectations by so much more.

Christy is absolutely amazing and did a wonderful job with our wedding. She knew exactly the questions to ask, and when to ask them, she made planning our wedding a breeze. The only thing we had to worry about was the officiant, the photographer, and our bridal party flowers. She was professional, and available whenever we needed her. The venue is absolutely beautiful, the staff was professional, and my wedding went off with no problems that I knew of. If there were any problems, Christy hid them well. I would recommend this venue to any bride who wants a stress free wedding.

Christi was great through everything. She met with us to show us the venue and after we booked, she helped through each step. The day of our wedding, she checked on me every few minutes and made sure everything was exactly where it was supposed to be and go how it was supposed to go. Our wedding was held at The Gatehouse this past Saturday, 12.13.14, and we definitely had a wonderful experience. The food was superb and the service was amazing. The owner is one of the most understanding and generous individuals in the business and her work speaks for itself. The facility is A-1 and second to none in my book and that is saying a lot because my wife and I deliberating on venues for months, but we always found our way back to The Gatehouse. I give Christi Edwards and her staff, facility, food, and the atmosphere it all created when combined a perfect 5 stars. I'd recommend The Gatehouse to any couple looking for a place to create their special day because we were allowed to bring in our own special touches to just about anything we wanted. Christi Edwards provided so much help in little and big details from beginning to end. We could not have asked for a better wedding planner or more beautiful place to have this special occasion for our daughter's wedding. I would recommend anyone to Christi and the Gatehouse for any event. I had previously been to two weddings at the Gatehouse and loved the setting, so it was an easy choice for me and my husband. I believe once my daughter and son-in-law saw it, they were sold also. I can't thank Christi enough for the professional and personal way she took care of everything. I have played both roles at The Gatehouse, the employee and the bride. With this being said, I had no doubt in my mind I would marry the love of my life there. I have never heard a single complaint from guests while working at The Gatehouse. We always go above and beyond for our couples and guests. Sorry, I have to brag... we are pretty awesome. My wedding experience was nothing short of amazing. Although, it went by very fast and before you knew it we were leaving. Christi takes care of EVERYTHING. I mean every little detail is taken care of... things you didn't even realize she did to insure you had a great time. (Like packing you cake and food to go to have when you get to your hotel) It is soooo stress free! Besides praying your dress comes in on time and everything fits on the big day! LOL The only thing you actually have to do is flowers, photographer, and minister. Planning is a BREEZE when booking with the Gatehouse. It was so nice to have someone guide me through the entire process for my wedding and reception. This place, Christie and her staff were AWESOME!!! My daughter's wedding was fabulous! Every detail was attended to by the Gatehouse staff! I have gotten sooooo many reviews on the food, decorations, the ambience, the facility and the staff. Our guests have said they have NEVER had wedding food as good as they had at The Gatehouse!!! The food was superb!!!!! There was sooo much included in the price and it made the planning so easy, especially since we don't live in Baton Rouge!!! I would definitely recommend The Gatehouse to everyone!!!

My husband and I are from Mississippi but decided to have a wedding in Louisiana. After searching online for a venue, we found The Gatehouse. Our desire was to have an outside ceremony and indoor reception. The Gatehouse was the perfect venue for us. Instantly, we fell in love with the photos of the outdoor ceremony area and the indoor reception area. There was some hesitation because we were planning a destination wedding. Christi Edwards, owner and wedding coordinator, was absolutely amazing!!! After the first conversation with her, I knew we made the right decision. She is an amazing person. Her humble personality and patience helped to reduce my stress level. Once you book with The Gatehouse, you have access to another portion of the website which offered many suggestions and options for the wedding and reception. Even though there was a distance between us, Christi did an awesome job of communicating with me through phone calls and emails. I can honestly say that the day of the wedding went smoothly. We were able to enjoy our special day without worrying about the planning and setup. The ceremony was outside during the early evening and was BEAUTIFUL!! The food was AMAZING and definitely exceeded our expectations. Our guests are still raving about how great the venue was and how much they enjoyed the food. Througout the day, Christi checked with us to see if there was anything we needed. After the reception, she ensured that we had all our gifts and belongings in the designated vehicle. The Gatehouse was excellent! The price was within a good budget and included so much. I didn't have to go out and find a ton of vendors because most of it was already taken care of there at the Gatehouse. I still had to find a photographer and a florist. Other than that everything else was provided and included in the price (DJ, cake, food, and beverages,) The planning process went very smoothly and the manager of the Gatehouse made me feel more at ease the closer we got to it. The wedding day itself ran very smoothly as well and I honestly didn't have to worry about anything. The manager took care of it all for me. I didn't even know the few things that went wrong (because something always does) until after the wedding. This, of course, is what I wanted. I didn't want to know what was wrong. Everything was set up the way I wanted it too be and looked perfect. The garden is beautiful so I suggest a wedding in the evening when it isn't too hot. Though my wedding was in the middle of hot June and it worked out just fine. The ceremony space is outside BUT fanned and is covered so you are okay even if it rains. Everyone of my guests loved it and enjoyed themselves. The food was delicious day of and even the day after. We were packed a to go box after the wedding to take with us to our hotel plus all extra food was packed up for us. You for sure get your moneys worth here. My husband and I are very pleased with our decision to get married at the Gatehouse and strongly recommend it.

We had our wedding ceremony & reception at The Gatehouse, and we are so happy that we did! I wanted our wedding day to be stress free, beautiful, and fun. The Gatehouse made this possible for us! She was informative, her communication and responses were so quick, and even we had last minute craziness she kept calm and was supportive. This was an excellent place to host my wedding. They handled almost everything for me and really helped make the whole day and event go much smoother. The Gatehouse will handle all the food catering including the wedding cake and groom's cake. They do all the decorations that you want. They have several options to choose from and you can bring in anything extra that you want. They provide their own DJ, but also allow you bring in your own band if you choose. They work with your photographer, minister, wedding party, and family to help keep the stress off the bride on her wedding day. Christi did a fantastic job working with me with all the decision-making. They have a beautiful gazebo outside for the ceremony and great landscaping that make the pictures come out beautiful. They have a very nice indoor reception hall. I would recommend this place to any one who asked me where I got married. They helped make the day very special without all the stress of the all the wedding planning and worrying if everything was done. They handle all that for you. All the bride has to do the day of the wedding is show-up.

We received many compliments on how delicious the food was and we enjoyed the box of goodies they packed for us, giving us a chance to sample all the food our guests enjoyed. The Gatehouse was a wonderful experience for our wedding. It is a smaller venue, but we didn't have a large wedding. AND BOY WAS IT A FAIRYTALE! My host was a pro at handling anything that came up and was ontop of everything. The food was surperb! I couldn't have imagined our evening better. They have great packages that included my cake, the food, the ceremony and reception, decorations, napkins, and more! I had a wonder experience and would reccomend them to anyone that was looking for a venue!

I could not have been more pleased, my reception at The Gatehouse was remarkable, It was wonderful she helped us on every little detail, I relied on her expertise since i did not have a coordinator, everything turned out perfect.All of my out of town guests felt very welcome and comfortable during their stay.

I couldn't have wanted my wedding to be anymore perfect and amazing!! They took care of everything and made the whole process up to my wedding day the best experience EVER!!! The gazebo area is beautiful! I didn't bring many decorations and I'm glad I didn't b/c once everything was ready it was perfect! Laura is the best, most wonderful person I have ever met! I had my wedding reception here last month. Christi is so organized and she made the planning process super easy. When we arrived to our reception, I was blown away with how beautiful everything turned out. Christi and her staff definitely went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. As I was busy and overwhelmed with occasion, I wasn't really able to eat but our guests told us that the food was amazing. The place and service was great that our guests had a blast, too.

Laura and Christi at The Gatehouse were very professional and great to deal with! Fast responses with any questions I had! I have heard nothing but compliments on how beautiful my wedding was and how delicious the food was!

My daughter's wedding was held on May 26th in the evening. Our experience with the gatehouse was first class!. The food was excellent, the staff very professional, and the package we choose for decorations was spectacular. The bride and groom felt it was truly there day! The wedding party laughed and nicknamed Laura the "drill sergeant of wedding planners." Everyone realized by the end of the night that is exactly what you need to pull off a very organized, upscale wedding. So, thank-you Laura for providing the "perfect" wedding for our bride and groom. As we were shopping for bridesmaid dresses etc., the first question was always were is the ceremony going to be held? When we said the Gatehouse we were surprised by the number of people who said they either got married or knew someone who got married there. We never heard a negative comment and took that as a good sign. In closing, we are another fan of the gatehouse. Thank-you for a job well done and giving us memories to last a lifetime!!

Laura is my favorite person in the world, and everyone involved in my wedding seemed to feel the same way. I just can't imagine getting through the wedding without her! There were so many people and so much going on. I was so glad Laura had my worksheets with her, and she knew EXACTLY what I wanted and made it happen.

The Gatehouse includes so much! The food was amazing, the cake was delicious and beautiful, the DJ played some great songs that fit right in with our tastes (but he did cut songs short during the ceremony instead of fading them out, it was a little abrupt). The location itself was perfect, everything was clean, well-maintained, and they turned the patio from ceremony to reception in no time! The entire staff was so polite and friendly.

I cannot imagine trying to plan a whole wedding without the Gatehouse. They took care of just about everything. I am really glad we did a separate rehearsal the night before the wedding. That was a really good decision, and Laura stayed until we made sure everyone knew their part.

We took home more leftovers than we could possibly eat. All our keepsakes and extras went home with our parents so we could pick it all up later. I didn't worry about ANYTHING on my wedding day. And if I did begin to stress, Laura was right there to put a glass of water or champagne in my hand, touch up my lipstick, and always had a smile on her face.

Since I live in Florida and wanted to get married in Baton Rouge, I really wanted to find a place that had it all, and I did with the Gatehouse. I had the pleasure to work with Laura, who was the most wonderful person I could have asked for. The Gatehouse supplies you with so many things, that all I had to do was decide on what I wanted and it was there. The Gatehouse not only supplies you with your wedding/reception site, but with delicious food, the cakes, a DJ, decorations, guest book, personalized napkins and the list goes on and on. Since it's a family ran business the moment you walk in, you feel like you have known them forever. I had Laura do extra decorations for me, and it was absolutely beautiful. She took the time to make sure she included everything I wanted plus more. Laura even took the time to clam my nerves when a few things before the wedding didn't go as planned. She made sure I was comfortable and reminded me to focus on what mattered. I love the entire staff at the Gatehouse, and I couldn't be happier with my choice.

Christi was awesome! Having a list of preferred vendors and having someone to help plan out the day of our wedding was huge. I would recommend this place to anyone not doing their wedding in a church, it was a fantastic experience!

I would totally recommend this place! It was everything I wanted. Christie was awesome. It was easy the day of the wedding, I did not have to deal with tables, linens, flowers, cake delivery , ect. My guests loved the place and food. I do recommend getting the premium package.
My only complain would be the music.The DJ played a couple of songs multiple times. He played Brick House like 4 times throughout the reception.
Overall it is a GREAT place!

I loved the Gatehouse! I've gotten so many complements on the location of the wedding and reception and I couldn't agree more. The hall is gorgeous, the food was great, the wedding coordinator, Laura, was awesome. I'm very very pleased with the service I got there and would recommend them without hesitations.

Laura was our hostess and she was EXCELLENT; very easy to work with. The food, also, was amazing! They made a huge box of food for husband and I to bring with us back to the hotl that night. The only things that were fumbled: 1. The cake. It didn't come out like the picture (at all!) I could have done a better job myself. They order the cake through a website. (I wouldn't have chosen another venue for my wedding/reception, but I would have ordered the cake through a bakery myself. It tasted okay; it looked AWEFUL.) 2. The music was NOT what I asked for. We needed the music started at very specific times in the ceremony. He also cut the songs in the middle to stop instead of having them play out (which is what i asked for). It made for a very abrupt atmosphere. We gave them a list of "requests" so that the DJ wouldn't be bombarded with people asking for songs (I sent out music request with my rsvps). They played 4 line dance songs; I said MAYBE play ONE, MAX!

...of course on the day-of, especially in the middle of the ceremony, i'm not going to say anything. but i was pissed that i spent over 9k there and the messed up so badly on the music. music is a really important part of our lives. we spent MONTHS trying to pick the right songs and mood...

I would have to say this place is wounderful!! A great place for small weddings. Christie Edwards and staff did an amazing job on my special day. Food was great! Would def recommend the gatehouse very nice very pretty amazing.

The Gatehouse was beautiful, and overall my experience was fantastic. Good food, tasty cake that was exactly what we wanted and gorgeous grounds made for a wonderful day.

The main reason I have given the place lower ratings is because I spent the last two months prior to my wedding picking out the perfect song for me to walk down the aisle to. I gave them a cd of the song (because they didnt have it) about a week before the wedding. Right before I walked down the aisle Laura said the cd was not working and aparently the cd only had a few seconds on it. Why wasn't this tested BEFORE the ceremony?? I understand I didnt give them very much time to test it but even 30 minutes before would have been better. Also, they played my cake song during my first dance song. Very annoying. And tried to make it seem as tho I was responsible because I changed the order of things although that was not true at all! OTHER THAN THAT....I love the place. It is beautiful and Laura was very helpful with everything. They even altered the menu for me. And my bridal party decided to use silly string on us as we left (against the rules btw) and Laura was very cool about it and did not get upset. She helped me stay calm and was always their when I needed her. So I guess its their dj I am unhappy with. I was never allowed to meet with him and I do not even know who he was. So I would be cautious but if you have traditional music I would go for it! It was a beautiful scene for my wedding!! oh, and the wedding cake is included and they have many choices!

The staff at Gatehouse were awesome for my wedding! I was such a mess and really had no idea what was done or not and they got everything out perfectly! The only thing I was upset with was that they messed up the ceremony music.
