We worked with Danielle for our wedding in September of 2015 and we had a wonderful experience! She was very prompt and thorough with answering all of our questions, and completely put us at ease about all the details about the day. We had previously attended an open house there and were very impressed with their entire setup. They have a bar on-site and are very familiar with all the local vendors and can make recommendations to help ease the process. This was wonderful for us as we do not live in the Greensboro/Summerfield area and appreciated the recommendations they provided.
The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and there are many options for ceremony sites and photos! They allowed us to have our three dogs in the wedding and at the reception, which was very important to us as they are a huge part of our lives. We had a wonderful wedding there and would highly recommend this place to anyone! The Gardens at Gray Gables's reply:

This is such a beautiful venue!! Danielle was truly helpful with all our plans. On the wedding day the weather gave us a run for our money and they offered us an alternate plan that worked so well. They handled everything just like we were family. -

Gorgeous facility. Very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. So many different beautiful spots for ceremony, cocktails, dinner reception and photographs. So happy we chose Gray Gables! -

We had our May wedding at the Gardens at Gray Gables, and I could not have been happier with our venue choice. This is one you should definitely tour if you're considering it; there are so many beautiful spaces and thoughtful details that you can't fully appreciate it through photos.
I loved have separate defined spaces for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. (The cocktail area may have been my favorite. I've been to many weddings where it felt like this time felt like an afterthought and guests weren't sure where to go, but the patio with it's own bar and cocktail tables setup made ours feel very special. They even let the kids in attendance feed the koi in their pond!)
The level of service was also fantastic. All the venue staff was included with the price of the venue, and they had more than enough people to manage guest parking, run the bars, and direct the flow of the event. I was pleasantly surprised that my bridesmaids and I event had a bridal cottage attendant to help us with anything we wanted before the ceremony. Danielle was also really helpful leading up to the event. I texted her probably once a week at least and visited the venue multiple times to take measurements and figure out where everything should go. She gave great advice when asked for her opinion, and made sure our wedding ran very smoothly and looked beautiful. I appreciated all the little touches, like an emergency kit for guests in the bathroom and her help with the decor. (After the ceremony she suggested to my mom that we reuse some of the flowers in other areas, then took care of moving them.)
The fact that the venue provided a very sizable reception tent and all the tables and chairs, plus the setup for all these, was key to making everything come together for us. I was also very glad we could choose any vendors we wanted, as a few were smaller or newer businesses that provided great service but aren't on many approved vendor lists. -

The whole venue was absolutely beautiful and it made our wedding seem like a fairytale! I loved everything about it! There were a few hiccups with the cocktail hour but they fixed their mistakes right away and went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. -

We loved this venue so much. It was beautiful! Our guests and vendors said it's one of the nicest venues that they had been to. Everything had a separate location (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception) which was wonderful and made everything run so smoothly. The staff was super attentive on the day of the wedding, especially the manager. We didn't know we were going to have her assigned to us that evening to make sure we had anything and everything we needed but it was amazing! I couldn't have asked for a better day. The price is definitely reasonable considering what you get. We also saved some money since we were married on a Sunday, which helped. -

This is a beautiful venue. The grass is well taken care of, the trees and plants are gorgeous. We got many many compliments about how pretty our venue was. For the beauty of our wedding and now our pictures, this venue was definitely worth the price we paid. The day of our wedding, the venue was well prepared and very helpful. We had a really hard time getting in touch with Danielle, who is the person who runs the wedding venue. We planned from out of state and so having such difficulty getting in touch with the her became quite frustrating. She always eventually got back to us, but it would sometimes take up to a week. We also booked the venue before they got their ABC license and were told we could bring in our own alcohol. This was a huge selling point for us as it would save us a lot of money. Between the time we booked the venue and our wedding happened, they got their license and things changed increasing the cost of alcohol for us a lot. They were very understanding of our budget and worked with us to give us the alcohol at a more fair price, closer to what we would have paid in the first place. Overall, we were very happy with the way the venue treated us. The only thing that could have been better is the responsiveness of Danielle. If you have a lot of time and patience, I would definitely recommend using this venue. It is one of the most beautiful wedding venues I've seen. -

What a beautiful Venue!
This place was what my wedding dreams were made of, and helped to make them all come true!
Danielle was very helpful offering different floor plans to accommodate my guests and vendor set up. Her staff set everything up beautifully!
The tent was wonderful, and they had fans running to keep everything cool.
The only thing that would have made them a 5/5 venue is if they didn't start cleaning up before my guests had gathered My wedding things and their belongings. I ended up with rushed guests and had to get replacements for my cake topper and ribbons, b/c they were forgotten/trashed in the hurry to leave. -

The Gardens at Gray Gables is an absolutely gorgeous venue and worth every penny. We had a few occasions where we reached out to the venue and did not receive a timely response, but overall it was a good experience. Any lack of communication about the wedding prior to the event was totally forgotten the day of the event as everything looked perfect, and Danielle was on hand to handle any issues and requests. I would recommend this venue to others, we are still receiving comments from our guests about the venue and how beautiful it was! -

I booked Gray Gables for my September wedding, and I couldn't be happier with our choice! First off, the venue is absolutely beautiful, with well landscaped facilities and separate areas for ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and bar. There's also a cute little bridal cottage on the back of the property.
I thought the value was great for what you receive. On the day, there's attendants throughout the venue as well as Danielle, the director. There's also Pat in the bar, who's awesome! All our guests loved the venue and said it was a beautiful wedding. It was exactly what we wanted - a stunning venue outdoors without feeling super fancy or stuffy.
Danielle was wonderful too. Like past reviews, communication was a bit slow, but my questions were always answered and any issues (only really one on the day of with tables) were handled quickly and professionally. She really helped put my mind at ease as we got closer to the day, especially when we would meet in person.
I was completely satisfied with Gray Gables and I wish I could do it all over again! -

We loved the venue - the grounds and all facilities were absolutely gorgeous and well maintained, which is why we chose the location to begin with. The staff on the day of the wedding was helpful and accommodating. We also enjoyed the wedding shows they offered on-site that we were able to attend in the months before our wedding. There were just a few issues - they charged us an insane amount to close their on-site bar and they got into some legal issues, almost causing them to be shut down the week of our wedding. Unfortunately we only found out about the legal issues through a friend - we were not even alerted by the venue that we might need to have a Plan B. Fortunately it worked out, and overall we do not regret using the Gardens at Gray Gables, just could have done without some of the drama along the way. If they can work some of these issues out, I would happily recommend the venue to a friend, especially if they're planning an outdoor fall wedding. The Gardens at Gray Gables's reply:
Rachel,
Thank you so much for taking the time to write you're review! I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed your time at Gray Gables. We did not inform you about our issues with the Town of Summerfield because it would have never affected your event in anyway, it would have still taken place regardless. Therefore, we did not believe it would be right to bring any issues to you the week of your wedding that would cause unneeded stress. If it was going to affect your event, then of course, we would have informed you immediately.
I hope that you have fond memories of Gray Gables for years to come :) -

I used the Gray Gables for my wedding and It was so beautiful. The property is amazing and the staff is friendly. I would possibly save a bit of money on using their director services. The director was very nice but was not always as present or informative as we would have liked. The house is beautiful and they have a nice bar inside. The water features are well maintained and they have ducks and koi!
Overall I loved the venue. -

Gorgeous outdoor venue for the ceremony and the reception. They have separate spaces for everything, including a cocktail hour, and bridal cottage away from the main house. They even have a solid rain plan in place. Communication is the huge issue with this venue. Emails nor phone calls are answered promptly or even at all sometimes. The venue director, Danielle, is a very nice woman in person and seems willing to do anything for you. But during every form of electronic communication, you're left wondering if they're going to get back to you at all. My (now) husband and I set up several additional meetings with Danielle (which took some time to schedule due to her lack of communication), and they were worth the effort. We had much better piece of mind after the in-person meetings. I was also promised to have someone from the venue to help me with my dress train before I walked down the aisle, but I ended up doing it myself. That is my only complaint from the day of my wedding, and that is a very minor detail. I did bridal portraits on the property as well, and they turned out great. This really is a fantastic wedding venue, just with poor communication skills. As long as you go in knowing you have to take the extra step there yourself, I think it's worth it! -

The grounds are absolutely stunning and the perfect place for your special day. The communication with point person, Danielle, was less than adequate. Specific requests made during our floor plan appointment were not honored (even though it was a mere 5 days before the event). In addition, I was astonished to see the venue serving my guests from the open bar prior to me walking down the aisle. While I am not originally from the south, I am quite sure that this is not appropriate, even here. -

Such a letdown.
Disappointing! My daughter was married here 11/08/2025. I wish I could say good things however I can’t let this happen to someone else. Danielle, the on site wedding planner that works for Gray Gables, did not show up at 10:30 am and when my daughter contacted the owner after no one answered at the venue, we were told she wasn’t there.I went to find this woman in the main house. She was hanging out there. The schedule that Danielle and my daughter agreed upon was not executed at all and when I questioned her - she blamed it on the contracted photographer who works for us NOT Gray Gables. First look photos were to be at 1:15 yet Danielle was no where to be found delaying photos almost an hour! The photographer that works for us - not the venue- went to find her and ended up having to take the groomsmen photos because Danielle did not even try to locate the dads for first look. I had to seek out Danielle and then inform her of her duties to which she replied it’s the photographers job. No ma’am, it’s not. I literally said to her I need you to take charge so we aren’t roaming your property blindly and if you aren’t going to help as stated in the contract then tell me and we will do it all. She claimed she was busy setting up all morning however at 12:30 when the florist arrived there were no tables set for flowers to be placed in the hall or on the patio for the cocktail hour. So my florist facilitated that too-I honestly don’t know what she was busy with from 8 am to 1:30. She should have been available. Danielle finally went to my daughter 40 minutes later who was waiting patiently in the trees for first looks on RED mulch that was freshly put out the day before. That’s important because it rained the night before and my daughter could not move without assistance if she wanted to keep her dress from being stained. Danielle apologized to my daughter; however, my daughter had to pull up the contract to read it to her to prove her duties. The photo schedule was significantly behind at this point so we didn’t get bride and mom or bride and bridesmaids shots. The bridal attendee we hired from the venue did not show until 2:30 (although I must say Melissa helped get us through photos). No one greeted guests or helped with parking so they almost ran into my daughter as she was finishing pictures. It was so much confusion. When a car alarm went off as the wedding party was lining up - Danielle refused to go see which car since as she told me she wouldn’t know who it belonged to. When we entered the reception hall, the donut cake had already been eaten from so my daughter did not have a groom and bride moment. The wedding planner, Daniele, that we hired from the venue then approached me about 8:30 pm to have me not only clear out the bridal suite, but also orchestrate decorating the car so I missed the fun games with my daughter and her new hubby. I should have declined but I was already used to running around all day doing their job- I wanted to make sure things went well fo my daughter. I also missed the dad and daughter dance - Melissa eventually came and got me so I could see the steps dad and daughter dance thankfully but as you can imagine I spent the night doing wedding planner duties. I sprinted from the bridal suite to the reception hall in my heels and fancy dress sweating to catch the last 30 secs of the groom and his mom dancing. The entire staff is simply not helpful. They will not speak to you or your guests. They will not assist at all. WHO puts the mother of the bride to work during the reception!
Finally a few quality/safety notes. The outside light for the bridal cottage is out. The small area in front of the door to the cottage that joins to the deck is about to fall through. Don’t step there. The bridal cottage also had a recent leak evidently and the interior ceiling is stained. I want it to be great but it’s run down and the staff can not pull off what they promise. The shuttle is limited to 11 people and runs one time, not multiple times as promised. On top of that guests were allowed to occupy the bridal suite all night so lock your stuff up before the wedding begins. -

Bad service deducts from 5 star beauty. Do not use the director services. That was the rip off of the day. Aside from practically no direction, director Danielle added a chair to the front row and "directed" an unauthorized change in seating to what bride and mother of the bride specified at the rehearsal. We were unaware until the wedding started and the seating faux pas has caused a family issue. Danielle was nowhere to be found when some of our vendors arrived. An extra table was set than number in our director-provided layout, leaving us a centerpiece issue. Tent lights were "blown" according to the venue management and did not all come on for our evening reception. Venue management did not inform of us of MAJOR liquor license change until 3 WEEKS before the wedding although the new bar at G of GG opened at least 2 months prior to our event. Of course, we already were contracted with a caterer for alcohol. Danielle "forgot" to place item on the table that was part of the ceremony and on and on. Efforts to call and ask to speak to the Danielle's boss have failed. I keep getting connected right to the director, even if I just call and ask for her boss's name!!!! That was almost a whole other star deduction, but venue is so very undeniably beautiful. -
