I wish I could get married here again
Choosing this venue was THE BEST decision I made during this entire wedding planning process (outside of choosing my wonderful husband, of course!). The venue was absolutely gorgeous, the food was phenomenal, and Ms. Cindy is an angel walking among us. The venue also hosted our rehearsal lunch and our wedding party is still raving about the food. They were so kind, thoughtful, and really flexible/accommodating. Most venues have a really long list of things you can't do - Cindy and the BES team were solely focused on making sure hubby and I had the best day.
Seriously, if you're debating having your wedding here, just go ahead and do it. -

Excellent, superb, accomodating a true positive experience
When your wedding guests approach you during the reception to comment on the tastiness of the appetizers, the perfection of their steak & salmon meal, the excellent service delivered by each server and bartender, well, what more be said! But the compliments don't stop there!
The decor throughout the club was stately and proved to be a highlight for our wedding guests to pose with their family for keepsake photos. The rooms available to the wedding party for their preparation was highly accommodating and the convenience to the neighboring hotel was unbelievably convenient and so appreciated by our out-of-town guests!
The attention to detail by Asha and Danielle was top notch; the cuisine by Chef Kelvin was superb and the serving staff where nothing less than excellent. Every request, every whim was addressed and delivered with service excellence. You will not be disappointed in your experience with The Engineers Club at the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion for your wedding venue. -

The best venue in Baltimore
We had our December 2022 wedding reception at the Engineers Club. The evening was everything we had dreamed of and more! The venue itself is absolutely stunning, unique, elegant and is just something truly special. Several of our guests commented it's the most beautiful wedding venue they've ever seen. The food was delicious - from freshly shucked oysters, to some of the best crab cakes we've ever had - the Club has an incredibly expansive menu to choose from for your big day. The staff were also extremely pleasant and wonderful to our guests - so respectful and willing to help in any way they could with anything that came up during the reception. Asha was also an absolute pleasure to work with - she was incredibly professional, responsive, and instrumental in the planning of everything leading up to the big day. The Engineers Cub team is wonderful and we cannot say enough good things. -

Magic, special, creative, thoughtful, amazing.
From the time we saw the Engineers Club, we knew it was the perfect place for us to get married. It embodied our ideal wedding of “We just want to show up and do the thing. And then mega dance party” Being able to get ready on-site, hang out, relax, and then party was exactly what we wanted. Everything in one place, no one rushing from one place to another.
The space itself is gorgeous — from Tiffany windows to gorgeous wooden staircases, an ornate ballroom and a light and airy drawing room — we had so many options to choose from when it came to the flow of our wedding and pictures. Who needs to dress up a space when you already have so much to look at!?
The food? Delicious. Our guests didn’t know what to talk about more, the space or the food! (Speaking of, our food tasting was a private affair, just the two of us, which made it feel all the more intimate and special. And fun!)
There were little touches that meant the world to me. They moved the chuppah under which we got married into the ballroom for my husband and I to feast under. They worked with our family members to coordinate surprises for us. They made sure we had food and drink during the event so we couldn’t go hungry. They added little details and touches from their private stock so we didn’t have to think about additional decor purchases (table numbers, candles, etc.)
And they made sure everything was where it needed to be so we could show up and do the thing. And then mega dance party. And the morning after, there was an email from Cyndi with a personal note that made us both feel honored.
Speaking of Cyndi, she was our wedding guru, responsive to all our emails and phone calls and questions (of which there were many!) When COVID struck and we had to postpone our wedding a year, Cyndi and Asha worked with us so we could make it happen on what would become our one-year anniversary. Talk about an anniversary party!
It was magical, special, creative, thoughtful, and amazing in basically every way. These ladies know what they’re doing and to say you get your money’s worth is putting it mildly. What an incredible experience from beginning to end. I can’t say enough about how special the Engineers Club is. -

Amazing venue - can't recommend enough
We can't recommend the Engineers Club enough - we postponed our wedding due to covid and they were extremely accommodating and flexible. When our wedding day finally came, Asha and her team made sure everything was perfect for every moment of the day, from champagne while we were getting ready in the gorgeous bridal suite to the late night pizza. Truly a beautiful venue and exceptional, professional service - they think through every detail so you don't need to, but are also happy to accommodate special requests. You will not be disappointed. -

If you're even slightly considering this venue, DO IT.
Our wedding was September 18, 2021 and there is no exaggeration when I say that the Engineer's Club was.... PERFECT. From food to staff; from booking/planning to execution, it was professional and fun as hell.
I've been to so many stuffy Greek weddings where things look good but the food is meh, attitudes are shit, and it is essentially an empty shell of itself. Samantha and I knew we wanted to make sure everyone was happy - not just our guests but the staff. Asha, the coordinator, is a powerhouse, like the perfect mom figure that's going to keep things on track. The food. THE FOOD. Chef's food was incredible, consistent, people were complimenting. Staff was energetic, courteous, fun.
Honestly, if you're considering, do it. You are in GREAT hands. -

Stunning Venue, Delicious Food, Exceptional Service, and Above & Beyond Coordinating Help Thanks to Asha!
The Engineer's Club was our dream venue! This venue is gorgeous, plus there are so many other perks involved...the onsite catering is top notch, the bridal and groomsmen suites were huge, the service is fantastic, and the best of all is the amazing venue/catering/wedding coordinator extraordinaire, Asha.
We booked the venue far before the pandemic, but by the time our wedding happened we needed to drastically change our plans. Asha worked with us every step of the way to offer us several different options and went above and beyond to make our day perfect & special! She coordinated flower deliveries, set up decor, and made sure the food/bar was perfectly in place. She is also helping us plan our anniversary reception since we reduced our ceremony due to Baltimore COVID procedures.
The Engineer's Club offered us a truly magical experience and made planning exceptionally easy. Our guests couldn't believe how beautiful this hidden gem was and are looking forward to attending the reception there this fall!-

A Hidden Gem. The most beautiful venue in Baltimore
Cyndi and the entire Engineer's Club team is truly the best in Baltimore. Every meeting, tasting, call, etc. was met with detailed answers and they made each of my requests come to life. My wedding day was perfect thanks to them and their staff. I got so many compliments on the beauty of this venue and how it was unlike anything anyone else had seen before. - Jackie-

Look no further if you want a PERFECT wedding experience!
If you are looking to have the perfect, most stress-free wedding experience, then you cannot go anywhere else except the Engineer’s Club of Baltimore! My husband and I could not have asked for a better place to start our journey together as a married couple back in March. From the moment we first walked into this stunning venue, Asha and her whole team made us feel so special and so at ease. Both of us being from Baltimore, it meant so much to have such a classic Baltimore venue with such great history! My husband and I are very family oriented and come from huge families. From start to finish they were so accommodating, making sure we could have everyone be a part of our special day at each step of the way. Asha somehow managed to remember me, my husband, and all our parents’ names for the whole year and was always the kindest most welcoming host whenever we came by (which we did often since the membership allows you to go to their awesome brunches!). They took care of everything we needed before, during and after the wedding – even all the small details we would never have known to think about – and were always available when we had any questions or needed help. This was one of the only venues that allows you to take the whole day for set-up, and gives you membership for a full year, so you know the venue and are able to see it whenever you need to, making it so easy and stress-free to plan things. The chefs and catering team are out of this world great and you can rest easy knowing they will work with you to make your wedding day meal perfect for all your guests. Our guests cannot stop talking about how great the day was, from the beautiful venue, to great food and generally just how well organized the whole day ended up being. But I cannot say enough that for as beautiful as the place itself is, it’s the amazing team that makes this venue the BEST IN BALTIMORE!! Thank you Asha, Ms. Tee, Stephanie, Chris, Johnathan, Koveni, and all the others who made our day so special!!-

Perfect Venue for a Memorable Night
The Engineers Club was the perfect venue for us. Asha was a pleasure to work with, she was so flexible and helped guide us through the entire planning process. Some small but nice things about the venue are that we were able to drop items off the night before and we got ready at the venue the morning of the wedding both of which made logistics easier for everyone. The food at the Enginers Club was delicious, you definitely need to have the crabcakes on your menu. It is an amazing venue with countless beautiful spaces to use. All the employees we interacted with were so nice and caring and made our event even more memorable. If we were to start the process all over again, we wouldn't even look anywhere else. -

Best of the best
The Engineer's Club at the Garrett Jacobs Mansion is quite simply the best of the best. The venue is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. But a lovely venue does not make a great wedding. A great wedding is completely dependent on the dedication and hard work of an entire team of people, many of whom you never see. The Engineer's Club has it all. From the bartenders, to the servers, the porters, the chef, the kitchen staff, and the truly amazing Asha, every single person brings their 'A' game. All of the food was amazing – truly beyond our expectations. We also loved that they have an awesome bridal suite with hair and makeup stations and a groom’s suite with a TV and pool table so we could all get ready onsite. It really made everything so much easier and stress-free. We so appreciated that Asha and her team were flexible and accommodating with every request we made. We wanted specific wines, she said yes. We had specific requests for lunch, she said yes and made sure everything was beautifully presented. We wanted to extend the reception until late, they said yes, and then stayed until the early hours of the morning making sure everything we had brought was organized and cleaned up for us to pick up on Sunday morning. We simply can’t say enough good things about our experience at the Engineers Club. We would do it again in a heartbeat. -

Absolutely amazing!!
In retrospect, I can’t imagine a more amazingly perfect wedding day experience!! EVERYTHING flowed seamlessly and appeared effortless. This is due entirely to Asha and her fantastic staff who treated us like their extended family. Because of them, I was able to truly relax and enjoy the entire day and evening as the MOB. The venue itself is exquisite and it was wonderful to have the entire mansion to ourselves from early morning til the very end of the evening Definitely not a wedding factory where you are herded in and out with only 1 1/2 hrs before your ceremony. I would HIGHLY recommend The Engineers Club to anyone desiring a truly elegant romantic venue -

Beautiful venue
What. A. Venue. One of our guests commented that it looked like they went to a wedding at Versailles. The Engineers Club was absolutely beautiful and the location was perfect for our out-of-town guests who were able to walk less than a block to their hotels. It was great having access to the venue the whole day to get ready. Asha and the rest of the staff were easy to work with and accommodating of our requests as well. -

Best Venue in Baltimore
The engineers club was such a beautiful venue for our wedding.
The space is just gorgeous, and it offers so many possibilities for a wedding! You get the entire space for yourself, with all of its history and beauty!
But the Engineers club is more than just a beautiful venue. The food served for the wedding was amazing, they have the best crab cakes and I still dream about the lamb!
Last but not least, the staff was super helpful, always available, and going the extra mile to satisfy our guests!
I also wanted to say thank you to Asha, who was always available to answer our (numerous) questions, and who basically planned our wedding for us! She was a great resource for vendors and ideas, and was also present all day and evening to coordinate the event. We would not have been able to have such a wonderful day without Asha! -

Extraordinary all around
The venue is so stunning on first glance it is hard not to fall in love. So much space, so gorgeous with an old world glamours feel. A million different options for photos and arrangements of events. So you think cannot get much better... then it does. At the tasting I wasn't expecting much since the venue is so beautiful you do not need great food. Was blown away because every hors d'oeuvres was phenomenal. Then the mains. Heavenly. Oh and by choosing the venue you become members in the club, so can attending great events (orchestra, teas, dance classes) and incredible brunch. Really get a great feel of the space prior to the big event so it feels more comfortable day of. Then there is the wonderful advantage that you get the whole building for the day. No set times to be in or out. Showed up at 9 am, got hair and makeup there, had lunch, really felt at ease and got to enjoy the whole day. To top it all off the staff was so wonderful. Had to thank each of them individually because they worked their butts off, but also were fun, sweet people. Those bartenders were fabulous and the event coordinator, Asha, was so amazing I think I am actually going to miss her. Could not be happier myself, but had countless compliments from guests. Not a single regret. -

Its been about a week since my wedding and the one piece of feedback I keep hearing from guests is how much they ADORED the venue and the venue staff. Not only is Asha the queen of event planning, but Ms. T and all of the Club staff members assisted in giving me and my guests the best possible experience we could have possibly hoped for. They were responsive, accommodating, kind, helpful and always 2 steps ahead of me!! Every single staff member that worked at my wedding deserves an employee of the month award - I've seriously never seen anything like how hard they all worked for us. Our entire wedding went off so smoothly without anything going wrong - that's seriously unheard of, and I credit that entirely to the expertise of the staff at this venue. I can't thank them enough for the beautiful day they gave us!-

The most spectacular venue! The Engineers Club was the perfect venue to host our wedding reception (180 guests). The beauty and charm of the mansion is one of a kind. Every single room is so unique and breathtaking. Not to mention the staff is truly extraordinary! Working with the staff at The Engineers Club (especially Asha) was a joy! They went above and beyond to make our wedding reception the most joyous and beautiful event! Working with a staff that is as kind, friendly, accommodating and welcoming as the staff at The Engineers Club made our wedding that much more special. Also, the food is out of this world! Every hors d'oeuvre and dinner dish that was served at the wedding got rave reviews from every single one of our guests!! Also, my husband and I added on a brunch the next morning for all of our guests at The Engineers Club. The brunch was just as amazing as our reception the night before! My husband and I cannot express how fantastic The Engineers Club is! -

The Engineer’s Club at the Garret-Jacobs Mansion is the most elegant of wedding venues with a phenomenal staff. Asha Hislop is the wedding coordinator for the venue, and she is a superstar. Asha and her staff took care of every little detail the day of the wedding, including bustling my dress after the ceremony ☺ We had the entire mansion to ourselves the day of the wedding, with the bridal party getting ready in a suite upstairs and the grooms’ party getting ready in a downstairs suite. Our family and friends are still raving about the food and drinks (we served the Chicken Oscar and the New York Strip Teryaki), and how friendly and helpful the staff were. The Club was so gorgeously decorated for our December wedding, that my Facebook feed is filled with guests taking family photos all over the venue. We all felt like we stepped write into an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel- thank you for a glamorous and absolutely magical wedding day! -

The name is unassuming, but the venue is extraordinary! The Garrett-Jacobs Mansion of the Engineers Club is a perfectly preserved 19th century elegant and romantic setting for a wedding. The mansion even has a fully enclosed "garden" with a skylight ceiling if you want an outdoor wedding, but don't want to take a chance on the weather. The event coordinator (Asha) is amazing and she organized many, many details to make our daughter's dream wedding come true! The food was outstanding. This is the best wedding venue in Baltimore. -

I cannot say enough amazing things about Asha and my wedding at the Engineers Club. Sososo many people told me it was the nicest wedding they had ever been to. Asha made my day extremely smooth and amazing. I did not need a wedding planner because I had her - and she just made everything beyond what I could have hoped for. There were surprises everywhere and it turned out gorgeous. I wouldn't hesitate to book this venue!!! -

We could not have been happier with our experience at the Engineers Club. The event coordinator, Asha, was helpful throughout the planning process, working with us on a budget that felt comfortable to us, suggesting options but never imposing her own tastes. It helped that she already knew all of our vendors from past weddings and could coordinate directly with them when necessary. When we had guests with specific needs that popped up the weeks before and the night of the wedding, she and her staff were really attentive. On the day of the wedding, everything moved seamlessly. Asha was professional and responsive while maintaining that cheery, upbeat demeanor that won us over on our initial visit to the space. (So long as you have her, there is no need to hire a separate wedding planner.)
Speaking of the space, it's beautiful and gives you a lot of options, especially for a winter wedding (ours was in January). We used the atrium for an afternoon ceremony and the after-dinner dancing. We used the ballroom for dinner. Many of the rooms look like they could be scenes from Dowton Abbey, and the setting (ex: a fire place, a spiral stair case, a study) adds a classical look to the photos without the need for extra decoration. We also liked that the wedding party could arrive early in the day and get ready on site. Lastly, I'll mention the food. Our guests raved about the crab cakes, the lamb chops and the carving stations, though I have say, what was most remarkable was the consistency in quality. Everything was delicious.
We really can't say enough good things about Asha or the Engineers Club and feel confident giving our stamp of approval for anyone else considering this venue. -

Our wedding was more than we could have ever dreamed of thanks to Asha & her team! I had seen MANY venues before stumbling across the Engineer's Club- it is truly a hidden gem. Pictures don't do justice to how elegant and beautiful it is- there is not one detail left untouched!
My husband and I got married during winter (not our 1st choice, but the only time our crazy grad school schedules worked out), so we had a brunch wedding to create a more airy, light feel. We had brunch in the atrium and it was gorgeous! We felt like we were eating in an elegant European garden with the high glass ceilings, beautiful plants, and natural light. The food was truly that of a 5-star restaurant. The service was exceptional and my husband (& all our guests) felt like we were royalty. The staff was so friendly, and really went out of their way to make sure we did not lift a finger the entire weekend. They also had so many thoughtful touches such as champagne, juices, etc. ready for us when we were getting ready in the beautiful bridal suite that morning!
Asha, the wedding coordinator, was phenomenal to work with. She was dedicated to tailoring everything to our wishes- and accommodated all of our requests as far as fine-tuning the menu, adding our own touches to the reception, letting us bring in any decorations we wanted, etc. I could go on forever about Asha but she had so many great recommendations and tips, knew the flow of events very well and kept us on schedule, & worked diligently behind the scenes to make sure everything went smoothly (ex: moving the bridesmaid bouquets around for decoration depending on where we were in the reception, or making sure I had my shawl when we did our final exit into the limo). We didn't even have a wedding planner or day-of-coordinator, and while at first we were alittle nervous about this, Asha truly did it all. All of our friends are still, months later, raving about how high-class and beautiful the wedding was. Thank you, Asha!! -

This was the perfect venue for my wedding! The space is gorgeous, the food was delicious, and all the guests raved about everything. The evening was magical, and Asha, the coordinator, was amazing! She not only gave great ideas and advice, but also helped with the rehearsal and was fully prepared with a steamer, pins for my dress, etc to get ready. Her expertise was invaluable! The bride and groom suites were also fantastic and a perfect place to get ready. I would highly recommend the Engineers Club to anyone! -

Just like the reviews before mine say, The Engineers Club @ the Garrett-Jacobs mansion is an absolutely beautiful building. From the first time I walked in there to see what the place looked like in person, I knew that is was the place I was going to get married in. Pictures do help, but when you walk in for the first time, you are kind of taken back by the beauty of this historic mansion. And every room is unique and more beautiful than the next. I had my ceremony and reception at the EC, and both turned out better than I could imagine. The cost to have the EC for your wedding is pricey, however, it was worth every penny. You pay a flat fee for the venue, and what that gets you is a year long membership to this private club. That entitles you to go to any event that they host, lunches, dinner, and brunches. (These do cost a price per person if you choose to go to any of the things I listed) The EC has their own catering in-house. They have multiple food and beverage packages for you to choose from.
Our guests were amazed by this place, just as my husband and I were when we first visited the EC, and we received so many compliments on the venue, food, staff, and the flow of the evening. The quality of service is exceptional. Asha Hislop was our point of contact/event coordinator at the EC, and she exceeded mine, my husbands and my parents expectations. She is a wonderful person to work with. Responsive, professional, flexible, kind and helpful and just a few words to describe her work ethics. Any time we needed anything, or had a question, she would get to us a timely manner. I could go on and on about her, but I only have so much time. :) She is just amazing! And not to forget some of the other staff that myself, my husband and my parents dealt with at the EC, such as Ty, Deon, and many of the other managers and wait and bar staff. They are all so pleasant to work with. If I could give more stars, I would! -

Working with Asha at the Engineer's Club over the last year has been so easy and when everything came together so magnificently, I knew it was largely because of her and the most beautiful venue of all times. She guided me through a daunting task, referred me to some of the most wonderful vendors, and when I saw everything in its place the night of my daughter's wedding, perfect, magical, and enchanting were the three words that came to mind.
I remember like it was yesterday coming to the Engineer’s Club late last year and I could barely walk the circular staircase to see the bridal suite where all the women would get ready, or the downstairs where the guys would spend time together, watching sports, playing pool, and bonding before the ceremony, but I didn’t want to miss anything. I had very recently been discharged from the hospital after an organ transplant surgery and I wanted to book a venue as early as possible after our daughter and son-in-law got engaged, because I wasn’t 100% confident that I would still be alive for their wedding, and wanted it to be perfect. I knew then, that if I didn’t survive, Asha's qualifications and expertise and the beauty of the meticulously kept historical venue would make it a spectacular evening. Asha was always patient, responsive, flexible, and happy to help. All the staff at the mansion were wonderful to work with and couldn't be more polite and accommodating. -

In addition to being a unique and beautiful venue, the Engineers Club was expert at coordinating all aspects of my wedding. We had our ceremony and reception there, and it was a complicated schedule with three different bands, acrobats and other performers. The staff at the Club was extremely well organized and kept everything running perfectly on time. Guests raved about how good the food was and how nicely the evening flowed. They could not have done a better job, we are so happy that we had our wedding at the Engineers Club. -

My husband and I got married here this past month and we were blown away by how everything turned out. The mansion was built in the 1800s and is out of this world. We didn't have to go overboard on decorations, because the venue itself was enough to wow our guests (think traditional elegance). The club sits directly on Mt Vernon park, which is arguably the most beautiful spot in the city. We had free reign of the club on our wedding day, and we made use of it all- the 2nd floor bridal suite- we moved guests from one room to the next as our ceremony, cocktail hour, & reception progressed. We decided to do a brunch wedding to cut down on costs, with the addition of hors d'oeuvres, a salmon entree and crepe station. A lot of our guests raved about the food, but they were even more impressed with the beauty of the venue. It truly felt magical, and we could not have picked a better place to celebrate our marriage. Asha Hislop was our coordinator, and she was right there with us the whole year while we were planning... remembering all of our little requests and making sure none of the details were overlooked. Asha is a true asset to the club. They were extremely accommodating, and even extended our wedding an extra hour with no additional charge (4 hours total), and served drinks to our guests as they arrived before the ceremony. We had a friend sponsor us from the club, so we didn't have to pay an extra fees to book or join (although we would love to become members one day). We felt the overall bottom line price was very reasonable, which allowed us to spend in other areas. Bloody Marys and Mimosas were included in the per person brunch price, and for the rest we did an open bar per consumption (which totally worked for our daytime affair of about 130 people). Our wedding was like a dream come true, and I couldn't be more impressed with the Engineers Club and their entire staff. -

We just had our wedding here, what I can I say, the venue is so attractive & ornate, that we did not have to spend too much on flowers & decorations. We had the cocktail hour in the drawing room, dinner in ballroom, and dancing under the stars in the atrium so you didn’t have to worry about weather, but it was still like you were in a European courtyard! The whole mansion is extremely spacious, you do not have to worry like many other mansions about guests being in different rooms & not being able to see or hear what is going on. Everyone can fit into each room utilized! Also, there is an upstairs and downstairs that we had access to the whole day!!!! From 8am to 9pm when we left!. The upstairs bridal party suite was just renovated and all the girls could dress & relax in the morning. It was very spacious, with mirrors & the lighting was great for getting ready. Downstairs was where the groom's party could hang out with a bar & a pool table. We did not have to worry about another wedding & we had personalized service all day. The people there are extremely helpful & available. Asha was our coordinator and I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone. There were so many little personal details that she incorporated and allowed for us, which at other venues are an additional cost for everything little thing! They also had so many items, such as bird cage for holding cards, vases, mirror centerpieces, etc. we could borrow to keep down wedding costs. The Club is definitely worth the price for such tailored, detailed service for your special day. For example, I wanted an old bay aioli with our crabcakes, & horseradish to be served with the NY strips, & it was not a problem at all. This leads me to the food. The quality & selection of the food is excellent. We actually utilized the club membership for the year before we were married & attend many events such as crab feasts & Sunday brunches. I miss the food and events so much! I would highly recommend this venue to everyone! -

We just had our wedding at the club this weekend and it exceeded expectations. We threw a big holiday party that we happened to get married at and Asha and all the staff were amazing! The club is gorgeous with character you won't find anywhere else and then there was the food which was great! We did cocktail style reception, the food was constantly replenished and great value for the price (people are still talking about the crab dip days later). All came together for a night that just blew us away and we likely to join the club itself. -

We loved this venue. We had the dinner in the atrium, it was like we were outside in a European courtyard, without the heat (an August wedding). The reception was in the ballroom, very spacious. The ceremony was in the front room, which has a large window that brought a lot of light into the room. There are several other rooms on the first floor that we used, one for the dessert bufffet and candy bar, another for the bridal party to relax after the ceremony, before the party. Also, there is an upstairs and downstairs that we had access. The upstairs was where the bridal party could dress and relax. It was very spacious, with mirrors and the lighting was great for getting ready. Also, a separate room for food setup. Downstairs was where the groom's party could hang out. There was a bar and a pool table. We had the entire place for the whole day for an evening wedding. We did not have to worry about another party. The venue is so attractive, that we did not have to spend too much on flowers and decorations. The people there are very helpful and available. I would highly recommend this venue. -

Let me just take a moment to express how AMAZING Asha is. This woman is nothing less than Superwoman. Asha was responsive, amicable, & willing to do whatever it took to make me happy. I trusted her completely with all tasks related to the wedding. If you have Asha, there is no need to even think about having a wedding planner! She did it all. She is nothing short of amazing to work with.
Her staff and that venue run events like CLOCKWORK. Asha was amenable to bartering the price if we were flexible on payment. I always felt welcome at the venue, and I would often stop by to get ideas and see layouts.
On the Engineer's club: What an amazing venue. It is a bit pricey. Realize that you will be paying for a membership fee just for the priviledge of being ABLE to access the grounds for a wedding. This fee is approx 3k, and that is what I paid, though I have heard other brides bartered that price down a bit. Then you have to have a minimum of 120 guests (approx) for sat. & plates will run you between $120-150 pp. It does sound like a lot. But hereare other things you are getting wrapped up in that price:
- tables/chairs/linens
- No need to decorate because this place is BEAUTIFUL and full of history. If you have never seen it, google it right now!
Since they do so many weddings, they had an OVERSTOCK of wedding related items. I didnt need centerpieces bc they have an entire ROOM dedicated to glass flower vases/jars/candelabras/baskets/ etc. They have silk flowers. They have excess candles. Cake stand/cutters.... you get the point. Just ask and if they have it, you are welcome to use it.
Everyone could not stop complimenting me on the location and how delicious the food was or how friendly and fun the staff was (my dad grabbed one of the lady servers and started dancing with her in the middle of the night to which she happily obliged!).
Thank you Engineer's club for an unforgettable wedding. Thank you Asha for being my rock star during this process!!!

As soon as Ed and I got engaged we had appointments with many different reception sites all over Baltimore City. The first place Ed and I visited we thought we were sold. Ed and I had other appointments scheduled for that night. We did not want to be rude so we decided to still go ahead and meet with the other reception sites. Boy am I glad we did!! Our second appointment was at the Engineers Club. As soon as Ed and I walked into the Club we grabbed hands and looked at each other, we knew this is was it!
When entering the Engineers Club you can not help but notice its incredible architecture! We met with Asha and she took us through the entire club. There are four rooms in the Club; one more beautiful than the next. You get to figure out how you want to use all of the rooms because if you book there you have the venue to yourself for the whole day!
Asha was very easy to work with. She helped us figure out the best way to set up the club for our special day/night. Ed and I were looking for more of a cocktail style reception and some other venues said that they did not know how to make that happen. Asha gave us about 5 different options on how this could be achieved right on the spot.
I had previously read some reviews about the food. I tried to go into our tasting without any expectations because I did not want to be disappointed. My highest expectation was blown! The food was GREAT! The crab cakes are some of the best crab cakes I have EVER had!
The venue looked INCREDIBLE! The staff was so helpful and friendly!
I am getting compliments from everyone that was there! If I had to do it again I would do the exact same thing!
I 100% would recommend the Engineer's Club for your venue! You will NOT be disappointed!!! -

As I rest up from my daughters wedding on October 27th, I wanted to take a moment to tell you how wonderful Asha was to work with. I produce commercials for a living and am so familiar with endless details and how some people are naturally equipped for those tasks and others just are not. Asha is quite a find and a wonderful asset to the Engineers Club.
When we were shopping for venues, and there are many great ones in Baltimore,we came upon the Engineers Club. The bride felt instantly attached to it and while I thought the physical building was lovely, it was Asha who turned my head. From the first instant I met her, she was warm, welcoming and so professional. Dealing with Brides, and Mothers of the Bride is no small task as emotions can run very high, but not once did Asha show anything but calm and a willingness to make the day as special as we had hoped. She made us feel that we were the most important thing to her and helped me with finding vendors who were the perfect match for what we wanted.
A wedding is a huge investment and while the Bride and Groom had the day of their dreams, I also, with Asha's help had the day I dreamt of.
Thanks to all of the staff for their hard work. The Chef helped my husband finish the wedding cake. We were down to the wire on that, as the decorations he had ordered did not arrive on schedule and there was a last minute run to get more icing. Good wedding stories for the future! But, your staff who does dozens and dozens of weddings acted as this was their one and only and with the Chef's help, my husband got into his tux in time.
Best wishes to you and your entire staff. If anyone ever wants a recommendation, just send them my way. -

Our wedding experience at the Engineers Club was absolutely delightful. Krystal and the staff took care of us from start to finish and helped to put on a most classy affair. During the preparation phase, Krystal went out of her way to help keep things within our budget and advise on each and every detail. On the day of the event, Gayle was there at our beck and call to help make the day special and assist with everything. Krystal went beyond the call of duty to help decorate and add little touches to bring everything together. I never had to worry about anything on the day of the wedding - it all went so smoothly. The food was excellent. The venue is a spectacular place to have a wedding. It couldn't be more beautiful. Our guests were blown away. In summary, it was a magical evening - the photos resemble a scene out of the Great Gatsby. -

I loved the Engineer's Club! It was beautiful, and really set the tone for an elegant wedding. We had lots of space to get ready and we loved that the whole space was ours for the whole day. It's a beautiful venue and they make it really easy to get things done. I loved the food there also. It was delicious, and they let us add some foods that weren't regularly offered on the menu.
Also, I loved working with Krystal. She was our contact person and she eased my nerves and made me feel confident about my decisions and how the day was going to go. They do this a lot so they know what they are talking about, and at the same time they gave me personal attention so I didn't feel that I was one of many. -

We could not have found a better place to get married. I searched for 6 months for the perfect place. The second that we walked into The Engineers Club, the search was OVER! I cannot say enough good things about Asha. Asha was the point person for my wedding. She understood exactly what I wanted from the second I walked in the door. She made sure that my wedding was a dream come true. Asha truly made every idea or thought I had become a reality. The staff at EGC are phenomenal. They could not have been any nicer or more helpful. For example: They made me a plate, told me that I needed to eat, when I didn't eat they packed us food to take to the hotel. When I was finally willing to take my veil off, they put it somewhere safe and packed it for me to pick up in the morning. They danced with my wedding guests (of course, they asked me if it was ok first) the wedding guests LOVED it! They were so much fun. It truly felt that they were part of the party and not people being paid to be there. I cannot say enough positive things about EGC. My wedding could not have been any more perfect thanks to Asha and her crew.
If you are looking for a more traditional route, Asha will be very willing to work with you. I wanted a causal approach. Asha will take the things you want and create something even better than you imagined!
My wedding guests are still talking about how amazing the staff was/is and how delicious the food was! You will not find a better place to get married!

This place is amazing! Not only is the service impeccable (I worked with Asha) but the venue is classic and timeless for a historic mansion within the Baltimore City area. Leading up to the day I worked with Asha who made everything as easy as possible from table seating, food, even allowing us to bring in our own sushi chef to celebrate our asian culture for the cocktail hour! They just recently redid the ballroom. I recommend dining under the skylight and dancing in the ballroom because of the acoustics.
Everyone also raved about the food (we did a buffet) but it was still piping hot and the drinks were strong :)
Either way, I wholly recommend this venue for anyone searching for something unique in Baltimore. -

I cannot be happier that I had my wedding at this perfect venue (3/31/12). The setting is gorgeous (beautiful wood staircase to take pictures, stunning indoor courtyard, ballroom) and the venue is located near a pretty park and monument - perfect for both indoor and outdoor pictures. The food is amazing, and the staff will work with you before the wedding to give you exactly what you want. We heard so many compliments about the food after the wedding! We LOVED the staff - so friendly, accommodating, easy to work with. Our on-site coordinator was Asha, and she was amazing. Organized, attentive to every detail - I don't know how she does it, but she is incredible at her job! Would recommend this venue and Asha to anyone without reservations - it was perfect!!!!!!! -

Our daughter's wedding was held at this venue last week and we could not be more thrilled. The TWO!! wedding coordinators-Asha & Crystal- absolutely devote themselves to making each event perfect. From your first visit they are responsive to every request. They take charge of your favors, bathroom supplies & even gowns the day before the wedding. We spent the day of the event there with women upstairs doing hair & make-up, etc. & men downstairs playing pool. Bottles of champagne, soda & water abound. A catered lunch can be arranged. All of the employees from servers to cleaning crew are so proud of the mansion & happily talk to wedding guests about its history. The food is fabulous-definitely not "hotel chicken". And the place is so beautiful you save money on decorating and flowers. 10.0/5.0 stars is my rating. -

Choosing the Engineers Club for our wedding was the best decision we made! It's worth every penny!! We had both our ceremony and reception there for about 130 guests. Everything was beautiful and effortless. Krystal Atkinson, our venue coordinator, was like our fairy godmother.
We were looking for a unique venue (not your typical hotel ballroom), something that could accommodate our numbers without being cramped or crowded, and a location near hotels. Those were our priorities during our venue search. The Engineers Club exceeded our expectations!
Their in-house catering is amazing and our food received rave reviews. The waitstaff became part of the family and took care of us. Unlike other venues, they only host ONE wedding per day, so you have the entire venue to yourself from AM to PM. The photos on their website do not do this place justice. It is gorgeous in person and in our wedding photos.
They are on the pricey end, as far as venues in the area go. But I assure you that is it worth going a tad over your budget for this place! This is one case where you get what you pay for and I cannot say anything bad about the Engineers Club. -

The Engineer's Club was such a magnificent venue for our wedding, All our guests are still raving of how incredible the decor was, how much they enjoyed the food choices, and how much they loved the staf being so interactive and attentive. Crystal was simply wonderful in helping us plan our special day. She was prompt to respond and very accommodating to how we wanted the day to turn out. We iterviewed MANY places and this was by far the best value for everything we recieved! -

It has taken me some time to compose this review because, quite honestly, there are not even good/kind/thankful words to use when I talk about the Engineer's Club. Choosing this venue was literally the best decision we made when planning our wedding...not only was the location beautiful (2 months later and our guests are STILL commenting on how incredible the place is) but the staff went above and beyond to accommodate any need we had during the entire 12-month planning process. I don't exaggerate when I say that working with the staff of the Engineer's Club was the easiest and most fun vendor experience I had during my wedding.
Krystal, our coordinator, knows her stuff front to back -- no crisis is to big, no detail too small for her -- she is born to do this stuff and it shows. Her guidance and help and her constant willingness to work with us made our planning process as easy as could be. On the day of our wedding, she was everywhere, making sure things were set up to my request and to her exacting standards; she spent the night making sure my groom and I and our guests had everything we needed. We couldn't have done it without her. And the rest of the staff at the Club was phenomenal...every single one of them made it a personal goal to ensure we and our guests had the time of our lives. They brought us extra food without being asked, made sure we had a drink or cool towels when we got overheated from dancing, made sure everything -- from dinner to toasts to the cutting of the cake -- went smoothly and on schedule. They even danced with our guests and joined the party!
Truly, the food was delicious, the presentation and location impeccable, and the service top notch; we were so very lucky to find this place. I realize it sounds like I'm blowing my positive comments completely out of proportion to the service that was provided, but I promise you -- my review is a shadow of how good the Engineer's Club really is. If you're considering getting married in Baltimore, do yourself a favor and book this venue today. You will be so grateful that you did! -

The Engineers club provided a wonderful venue for our daughter's wedding. We were very impressed with the beauty of the mansion! The food met our highest expectations. The service that Krystal Atkinson the representative gave us was with the utmost professionalism. She was always there when we needed her for whatever reason. She was efficient, knowledgeable and courteous. Our event was a day to remember. We would recommend the Engineers club to anyone looking for a wedding venue.

I am so thrilled that I found the Engineer's Club... searched high and low for a reception location and nothing compared to it! Not only is it incredibly beautiful, the people there were so great to work with, and it is pretty reasonably priced! Food was also delicious! Krystal was amazing to work with- she's such an easy going and fun person, she definitely knows what she is doing and is very detail oriented. She completely put my mind at ease with everything. Other pluses include that it is right next to a great hotel, the sights in Baltimore (great for out of town guests!), and the Mount Vernon square has beautiful scenery for photographs. I heard from so many people that our wedding was the most beautiful and fun wedding they have ever been to. The only regret I have about my wedding is that it is over!!! Loved the Engineer's Club and would recommend it to anyone searching for a venue in the area. -

We had our wedding reception at the Engineer's Club 3 weeks ago and we truly feel we could not have picked a better spot in the Baltimore area. The club is magical. Nevermind the unbelievable decor and cozy atmosphere, the venue is so unique in how it is setup. Each room has its own beauty and character which makes it such a special place (great for photos too).
The entire staff is amazing. Specifically though, working with Asha was a breath of fresh air. Her expertise and ability to understand my vision was proven when I walked into the club on the night of the reception and saw it become a reality. She listened to what we wanted and executed everything to almost perfection. She was hands off during the planning but was there to answer any and all questions, put me at ease and was a pleasure to speak with throughout the process. She is a veteran in her field. My guests raved about the food, accomodating staff and beauty of the venue. We are so happy we had our reception here and would highly recommend this venue to anyone. -

I do not think that there are enough words to describe how happy I was with the Engineer's club. They were flexible and creative and made me feel so relaxed leading up to the wedding. Krystal and Asha were a delight to work with as was all of the staff.
So many of my guests have remarked on how beautiful and unique the wedding venue was - if you are looking for a memorable location that provides an unforgettable setting, the Engineer's Club is right for you. -

I dont even know where to begin when talking about the Engineers Club. Everything from the food to the linens to the beautiful courtyard was PERFECT. Krystal and her staff did an unbelievable job catering to our every request especially when it came to the food. The food was delicious and as long as you pay for it they are willing to be flexible with food options. We added things like ahi tuna ect and our guest loved it. Krystal made sure the Ballroom and Courtyard ect looked flawless and I really cant thank her enough for helping plan the most beautiful and perfect day of our lives. The venue itself is gorgeous but the staff made the day unforgetable. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone that has the funds available to do so ! It is GREAT ! And the courtyard setting with all the candles truly makes a fairtale setting !!! -

From an e-mail I sent to the executive director of the Engineers Club:
My daughter got married at The Engineers Club two nights ago, on November 13th. I feel compelled to write to you, to let you know what a pleasure it was to work with Asha Hislop. From the moment we met her when we were exploring our venue options, to the night of the wedding, Asha was instrumental in the success of the entire process. Asha was there, by e-mail and phone, every step of the way, patiently answering questions and offering advice and suggestions. Her knowledge and experience touched every aspect of our event, and we were all the better for it.
I cannot thank her enough. You are very fortunate to have someone like Asha on your staff.
Gratefully and sincerely,
Dr. Susan Albert (mother of the bride)
To this website, let me add that the mansion is a gorgeous venue. We had 140 guests, and we used all the rooms for different parts of our wedding. If you want a very special place, take the time to look at this venue. -

It looks amazing! they are able to change things around so quickly you wont even notice! the speed at which they took the chairs from the ceremony and was able to replace them in the dineing area was amazingly quick. I dont think that anyone even noticed! They are able to help lots with lots of things. I had my own room to get dressed in while my husband had his own seperate room. the staircase is beautiful. Its just amazing and historic and a beautiful place for a ceremony and reception! -

We had worked with Asha for the last year, planning our reception (we did not do our ceremony here). She was wonderful to work with, very responsive, very helpful. She answered a ton of my questions on almost a weekly basis (at some points in planning). The consummate professional, she answered all of my emails and every question. I really feel like they go above and beyond there. It's not cheap, but well worth the expense. So many possible points of stress were not even a consideration for us, as everything was taken care of. Asha coordinated everything and made sure things ran smoothly behind the scenes. Linens, chairs and decor (not flowers) were taken care of. The club is a gorgeous, classy, mansion to begin with. They made it even more special with lights and candles in the atrium. We got tons of compliments on how elegant this venue was. We used the drawing room and library for the cocktail hour and then transitioned people to the ballroom for dinner through the marble staircase area. I didn't have the appetite to eat (though the food there is wonderful!). I was too tired and distracted to be able to eat a lot, so they kept our food warm in the back and wrapped it for us to take when we went home, which came in handy at 3am back in our room. We had family members who have eaten in very nice places all over the world, tell us that this was one of the best meals they had had during their visit to the states. We also had a few very tired babies, who were able to use the downstairs rooms to sleep in. My stepson got to play some pool downstairs as well. I had major bustle issues throughout the evening and they were extremely responsive. Asha (8 months pregnant!) was on the floor pinning my dress with the help of someone else from the wait staff. They knew what they were doing and totally took control of the situation. This was also the only venue where we were able to stay until 2am. We had a sparkler sendoff, which of course, Asha was already prepared for, and knew what to do. They were also very flexible with the numbers and worked with us in terms of last minute changes. From start to finish, everything was first class. In this case, you really do get what you pay for! I could not recommend the club highly enough. -

The Engineer’s Club was simply amazing. I can’t imagine getting married anywhere else. I was very reluctant to even go see the venue because I had priced it out online and thought it would be too expensive for us. But my fiancé really wanted to check it out so I obliged him. This venue was exactly what we wanted; a historic mansion in the city with space to fit all of our guests in the same room at one time. After seeing the mansion I was really excited, but still worried about the price. Luckily, we were told from the beginning that they were willing to negotiate the price. We were able to knock a decent percentage off of the price as well avoid paying the membership fee because we had our wedding on the same day as someone else. Typically if you rent the mansion, you get it for the whole day, but someone else was having a brunch wedding the same day, so we weren’t allowed to get there until 4:30pm. That worked fine for our schedule.
There’s so much you can do with the beautiful mansion and the coordinator, Asha gives great advice about how to use all of the rooms. We spread out and had the ceremony in the drawing room, cocktail hour in the courtyard, dinner in the ballroom with the buffet in the library and dancing in the courtyard. Most other venues I saw had everything in one or maybe two rooms. The other great thing about getting married at the Engineer’s Club is that everything is included; they don’t nickel and dime you for little things. Asha was very helpful and said “Yes” to almost everything I asked. She would worry me because she never seemed to write anything down when we would meet, but sure enough she remembered all of the details the day of! If you are thinking about getting married at the Engineer’s Club I would recommend that you at least go look at it and talk to Asha because you can probably make it work for your budget. -

The Engineer's Club is a beautiful venue and I am so happy and lucky to have been able to use it for our wedding! Asha is so sweet and did a wonderful job. The food is amazing and I received so many compliments. There is no parking specifically for The Engineer's Club but we reserved spots at the 600 Cathedral street lot right around the corner and it was no problem. While the venue is not exactly reasonably priced it was well worth it! -

The venue was decorated for the holidays and looked beautiful. The food was incredible and so delicious. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Gorgeous Venue with Wonderful Staff
I fell in love with the Engineers Club just seeing pictures of it. The venue in real life surpasses even what you see in the photos. I was looking at other venues in the area and this just had everything I wanted in terms of luxury feel but also with so much extra included when you choose to book your event there. When you choose to host your wedding there they have you join as a member for the year, which ended up being very nice because the club also has lots of nice events, brunches and dinners throughout the year. And the food is PHENOMENAL! Anyways, I can't say enough positive things about the staff there, with extra special mention to Miss Cyndi who was my dedicated planner, and Asha who is also a resident planner at the club. They went above and beyond to make sure the day was everything we wanted and more. The price for the event is on the higher end but you really get so much value from what you put in, in terms of the location, the service, the food and rentals all included. Me, my husband and our family and guests were so impressed and we would not hesitate to recommend the Engineers Club in Baltimore for a wedding or other special occasion!! -

Just the Best. Gorgeous Venue, Great Staff!
I know the word "stunning" gets thrown around a lot in the wedding industry, but seriously...this place is STUNNING! There are multiple gorgeous rooms for your guests to enjoy. We had a Hallowedding and wanted an upscale gothic vibe -- the ballroom was absolutely perfect for it with candelabras!
Not only is the space gorgeous, but this venue does not nickel-and-dime the way that others we looked at do. While it's not cheap, the price is the price -- period. Want to use the piano? Sure. Get ready space? Absolutely. No cake-cutting fee or other surprise charges! We had the run of the mansion the entire day of our wedding, and they were super flexible and willing to accommodate us. Food was delicious, too!
Asha was great to work with. She could be a little slow to respond earlier in our wedding planning, but when it came down closer to the event, she was awesome! Everyone on staff was so nice, pleasant and had a "can-do" attitude. They clearly wanted our event to be successful, and it was.
Our guests are still talking about how amazing this venue was, with several saying "it's like something out of a movie!" and "this is the best wedding I've ever been to." The Engineers Club was the perfect choice! Highly, highly recommend! -

Gorgeous venue! Asha is so sweet and thought of every detail - including making sure that one of my bridesmaids (who had to fly back early to work) get food to go before the meal is served! The location is absolutely gorgeous especially the woodwork and the Tiffany glass dome! There's also an indoors courtyard area with glass ceiling - beautiful and gives that outdoor feel without having to feel the wind blasting outside! We love this location and are so glad we've found this place! -

I was initially introduced to the Engineer's Club through some events hosted by Baltimore Concert Opera. I have always been wowed by this venue, but it really was the highlight of our wedding. We had dinner in the Ballroom, which is SO stunning on its own, and then dancing in the Atrium. The layout of the club is awesome for a wedding, as it allows your guests to mingle and explore in a number of areas. We were also able to get ready all morning at the club, which was a highlight of the day. I cannot say enough about the staff at the club. They are complete professionals and gave top notch service at our wedding - from the drinks to responding to requests for assistance, they were absolutely awesome! Asha at the club is also a dream - she is the sweetest and very accommodating. She will make sure everything is perfect. Thank you SO MUCH for (as cheesy as it sounds) the best day ever. -

Not only is the space breathtaking, but Asha (the event coordinator) made everything a dream. She was incredible! Everything went so smoothly because she paid attention to every detail, has a well trained (and very sweet) staff and a professionalism that can't be matched. She is the reason our wedding was as beautiful as it was. Booking the Engineers Club was worth it because of her. She met with us several times, worked with my vision, improvised to make things work, seamlessly managed the other vendors and took care of everything.
Plus, the food is incredibly delicious, the space is beautiful, and Asha has an impeccable list of recommended vendors. Everything, right down to the café lights and the cake cutting stand, was beyond what I expected. People have told us it was the best wedding they've ever been to - I credit that to the venue and to Asha. Set up a meeting and meet her for yourself! You won't be sorry you did. -

Engineers club is a gorgeous venue located in a gorgeous neighborhood. The venue rental includes the whole building with multiple rooms that have very different looks which is really nice. The rental also includes using the space for the entire day and there are really nice rooms to get ready in. I wish I had known earlier in the planning process about all the supplies that the venue can provide, like vases, candles etc. Engineers Club staff, from servers to set up crew, are mostly in-house and they are very helpful and knowledgeable of the venue. It may be priced on the higher end of wedding venues in Baltimore, but the grandeur of the venue along with the amenities and flexibility it provides make it a great deal. I would highly recommend the venue! -

Looking for a gorgeous, unique, memorable wedding? The Engineers Club should be your first choice!
Every single room is unique and beautiful -- and you get the whole venue for the whole day! We were able to have the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing in four different (gorgeous) rooms, which gave each event a unique feel. The crab cake and filet were excellent. Guests could also mingle throughout the venue -- the pool table downstairs was a huge hit with our non-dancing guests, and other folks were able to find a quiet place to chat away from the dancing. Every room felt just the right size for our crowd of 135 people. Guests gushed over both the beauty of the venue and the amount of fun they had.
Asha, Tyrone, and the staff at the club are amazing! They took great care of us throughout the process! They handled every detail of set up, timing, etc, which really took the pressure off of me. They also accommodated some pretty tricky dietary restrictions among our guests. Asha was sometimes slow to respond to e-mails, but I trusted her based on the other wedding wire reviews -- and this trust was well placed! Asha also deserves praise for her flexibility: she always opened her schedule to make sure that we could meet whenever I was in town (pretty important since I was planning this wedding from 1900 miles away). Furthermore, Asha has great vendor connections -- every vendor that she recommended was top notch. This planning so much easier!! Thank you to everyone at the club for making our dream wedding a reality!

So happy we chose the Engineers Club for our wedding. Not only was the venue beautiful, but the staff was amazing and helped to pull everything together behind the scenes. The food was delicious and I loved that our wedding party had a private attendant taking care of just them the whole night! If you have your wedding there, you also have the venue for the entire day which I loved rather than having both an afternoon and evening wedding. There is also an amazing bridal suite for you to get ready in the entire day before! -

We originally planned to use the Engineers Club for our reception dinner. However, after making changes to our guest list, the Engineers Club would have been too big of a venue. We decided to use the Engineers Club for our Rehearsal dinner instead.
The location itself is beautiful. There are several rich, ornate rooms, a wonderful atrium with great natural light, and ample spaces for the bridal party to get ready (if needed).
We worked with Krystal, the event manager, who was very helpful. She was able to work with us to adjust our plans, and made a few suggestions to help us keep the budget and style we were looking for. Before we made our change in plans, we actually went through a full tasting, which was nice. Overall the food was good, but not great. When we arrived for our dinner, it didn’t appear everything was quite set up (bartender not present, gifts not set on the table). However, things were quickly put into place and the night was able to start. Be aware that membership in the club is required in order to use the venue, which requires an extra fee. -

Expensive, but worth it! I got SO many compliments on my wedding reception: the space, set up, and FOOD were all applauded by the guests. I chose the crabcakes, filet, and chicken Chesapeake for my menu and everyone loved it! The club also offers a buffet option, which I wouldn't suggest. I went to another wedding at the club a few weeks before mine: they ran out of food so I had to wait... And fettuccine Alfredo was on the menu. Not worth the $.... Even if you are saving a few bucks!!! (although when I asked for more food - not seconds, but my first plate - the servers were happy to get me something. It's just annoying to have to wait fr your food after standing in line. Go with the seated dinner option!!!!) -

The Engineer's Club was an awesome place to have a wedding; we loved everything about it. Over the course of planning, we worked on and off with both Asha and Krystal and both were very responsive, kind, and down-to-earth. They know the ins and outs of wedding planning and knew to ask about numerous issues that we hadn't even thought of. Compared to other places in the area, we were impressed that a) they have in-house catering so food isn't being transported there, not to mention you don't have to pay for table/chair/linen rental b) you have the place for the entire day, they don't double book, so you can get ready there, take pictures, etc. and c) there is so much space and many different rooms to use and play with for cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, etc. Everyone was really very kind and flexible and we had a total blast the night of our wedding, we got lots and lots of compliments, not only on the food but also on the quality of the service. Highly recommended! -

My wedding was everything I wanted it to be and more. The food, ambiance, flexibility, and service were above and beyond what I expected. The only suggestion I have for anyone looking at this venue for your wedding is to be patient. Asha, the catering manager knows her stuff but is literally the only one covering all of the events. She did take a while to get back via email on questions, but at the end of the day everything I wanted, asked for, etc. was executed flawlessly. They should hire her an assistant to help her, but my stress from the lack of responsiveness was all for nothing. I couldn't have asked for anything more than what Asha and her team provided. -

The Engineer's Club is a beautiful place to have a wedding. The mansion is gorgeous, with each room unique and elegant. I didn't want the stress of an outdoor wedding, and this was a great place, because the glass ceiling courtyard gives plenty of natural light to bring the outdoors in, and if it is nice out, then you can step outside to Mount Vernon Square for pictures (which we did, and they are some of the best photos from the day!). Krystal was wonderful to work with, and they were so flexible and met all of our requests. All our guests raved about the food too! I couldn't have picked a more stunning, memorable place to host my wedding. -

The venue itself and staff were great. Everyone was easy to work with and very accomodating. The food was excellent and everyone commented on what a great venue it was.
They recommend valet service, which is expensive but there are a few parking lots in the neighborhood. A word of caution is remember that you are still in downtown baltimore, one of the bridesmaids had money stolen out of her purse in the upstairs room where we had gotten ready. -

Our guests loved moving from room to room throughout the night. The place really lights up at night. The food is delicious. We also loved that the venue let us use the place all day for getting ready. Many places that charged more did not have that option, which was important to us because all of our wedding party came from out of town. -

The staff was amazing, the venue was GORGEOUS and the food was the best with the most accommodating chef ever! They worked very hard to make our daughter's wedding spectacular and they didn't disappoint! We had very customized food/stations and they went overboard to make our vision come true. Ms. T was amazing, she was at the venue at 6:00 a.m. catering to our every need and she didn't leave until after midnight - all day long with a smile on her face! Even our guests commented to us about how wonderful the staff was and how delicious the food was. I don't write recommendations often, but they deserve to be complimented and you should consider this venue as first class. Thank you to everyone at the Engineers Club who went out of their way to make our dreams come true, you hit it out of the park! -

I couldn't have asked for a better ceremony and reception site. All the staff were personable and helpful. The only hangup I had was with the number of guests I actually had- only half of those I invited- and the club could only refund a certain amount of the catering. I paid for an extra 10-20 plates and I thought it would have been nice to get offered the leftover food wrapped up to take home to family versus simply paying for the invisible guests that didn't eat. If I had to do it all over again and remembered to ask however I'm sure the club would have done it for me. The food was spectacular, the staff were responsive, and I had extra help preparing the flowers the day before from the coordinator who was meant to be off that day. Definitely an extra effort from the staff's part -

This location is beautiful. The website does not do it any justice, you need to see it in person. It's gorgeous as it is, and even more so when it's all set up for a wedding.
The staff is lovely. Asha was on top of everything from the beginning to the end of planning. The service staff the day of the wedding was beyond gracious. Numerous guests mentioned how nice, helpful and accommodating they were.
The food is top restaurant quality as it is the same as they serve their members.
Overall, it was a wonderful day and a wonderful experience. -

Wow. The Engineer's Club is a top notch venue! Scott and I worked with Asha Hislop for our event, and we had both our ceremony and reception at the venue. From the very beginning, Asha was helpful and accomodating. We were able to set up our day basically any way we wanted, and Asha was so great at putting our ideas into action. The mansion is stunning alone, but the fact that the staff are so friendly and helpful is a definite plus. We had use of the entire first floor for the event, as well as use of the downstairs billiard room and upstairs bridal suite. The catering is done on-site, and is absolutely outstanding! We had trouble choosing at the tasting, since everything we tried was so good. And it was just as good, if not better, on the day of the wedding! Everyone commented on how wonderful the food was, and how helpful and kind the staff were! Asha and her team went over and above to make sure our day ran smoothly, and to make sure we and our guests had everything we needed.
Asha took care of all the little details on the day of the wedding, like arranging the cake placement, flowers, candles, ceremony set-up, guest book and place card tables, etc., so that Scott and I didn't worry about a thing. She already had a cake stand, cake-cutting knives, a bird cage for the envelopes.... which definitely helped us with not having to buy those last minute things. We wound up having less people at the wedding than we expected, so Asha helped us set-up a Sunday brunch at the Club for close friends and family. The brunch food and service was amazing as well! Overall, we can't recommend this venue and their staff enough. Although the venue is not inexpensive compared to some of the other sites we visited, the service that you get for the money is exceptional! -

The Engineer's Club cost some up front money to book the location but it is well worth what you get in return. We had the entire mansion for the whole day to take pictures before hand. They also do not "kick you out" after your 5 hour reception. Our wedding was scheduled to end at 10:30pm and didn't end until 12:30pm. The service is exceptional and the food is some of the best you can get catered. I got comments on the venue from almost every guest. My photographer even thanked me for having her do our wedding and allowing her to photograph in such an amazing space. They don't allow you to bring in your own caterer but the catering at the location is awesome. I have had crab cakes at many Maryland weddings and these were lump crab meat with little filler. If you are not looking for a typical hotel wedding this is the place to have it. -

The second we walked into The Engineers Club we knew we were at our wedding venue. It is beautiful and we loved all of the history and the capability to manipulate all of the grand rooms in order to create a truly unique event. We booked over a year in advance so we were able to come by and visit multiple times and even had the opportunity to pop in on some events so we could see how other couples set up their weddings in the space. We changed our floor plan a few times, and each time Asha, who was our point of contact, helped us figure out what would work best for our vision and guest count. On the day of, everything came together perfectly- from the girls getting ready upstairs starting at 10 AM, the set up happening throughout the day, the guys hanging out downstairs while the girls were getting ready, to the perfect execution of the flow and timeline that we had planned, we could not have been more happy with how our wedding day turned out. The only complaint on the day of was that the temperature in the atrium during our ceremony was extremely warm, however they were able to make some changes and it felt much better during our reception. We used the atrium for our ceremony, the ballroom for cocktail hour, the atrium for seating, the drawing room for dancing, and the ballroom for dinner stations. The food was amazing and the bartenders had our guests having a great time in a timely fashion. Despite everything turning out perfectly on the day of, we did have a hard time getting in touch with Asha throughout the engagement. She would eventually return phone calls and emails, however the time that it took her to respond sometimes made me concerned. However, she proved me wrong by delivering a perfect event on the day of. Go visit The Engineers Club and see for yourself how beautiful and unique this place is! -

Asha and her staff at the Engineer's Club were wonderful. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, and they know exactly what they're doing which meant no worries for us. Asha even worked with us once our RSVP numbers came in less than we expected, and helped use flowers from the reception for the ceremony, allowing us to get the most of our flowers. They also put up with stressful bridal requests, like moving the rug or chair from the public spaces. I could not recommend Asha and the Engineer's Club any more highly. -

We absolutely loved the feel of this beautiful, vintage-inspired "mansion" in downtown Baltimore. The beauty of the Engineers Club is that it needs little to no decoration because it is art in and of itself. Being on Mt. Vernon square only adds to the view outside, and most of our guests stayed at the Peabody Hotel, which is literally 20 yards away. Since I grew up in Baltimore, some of our guests had been to the EC before, but many had not. The "lobby" alone will make you stop and stare with the beautiful carved wood, winding staircase, and marble floor. We got married in the atrium, which is such a gorgeous space because it feels like you are outside but it's a covered roof, so there is no threat with bad weather. We then had our cocktail hour in the library and drawing room, dinner in the ballroom (which turned out beautifully with using long tables since it is a rectangular room), and dancing back in the atrium. I love the open flow of every room and it was easy for some guests to sit back and watch but still feel part of the wedding.
The staff was wonderful throughout the night, especially Gail, who took such good care of us. We worked with Asha in the planning and though she was at times hard to get in touch with and to nail down the details, but she was always friendly and willing to help. I was glad I had my own planner to help us with all of the details.
The food was phenomenal, which was so important to us. Their crabcakes are some of the best in Baltimore, and that's a pretty big thing to say as a Baltimore girl. Everyone who had the tenderloin said it was done perfectly, and that's not an easy feat either for over 100 guests. Rave reviews on the bacon wrapped scallops and quiches, which were actually mini pizzas. We were highly impressed with the food!
If you like the old world, vintage feel we definitely recommend this venue! We loved it!!! -

There are a couple of flaws with the Engineer's Club, but the bottom line is, the place is so beautiful it almost doesn't matter. A lot of people commented on the venue and how gorgeous it was. It is also nice if you have several different groups of people, because your high school friends (for example) can go wander out to the foyer and hang out while your dad's work partners can go over to the bar area and people can get away from the music if they want to. I felt like the place was all mine and it had such a personal feeling- so unlike a big hotel or something. The staff at the club worked with me to create a look I liked, and they also allowed us to bargain down the price per head, which you should absolutely do! We also used them for a brunch the next day which was really great. I definitely recommend the Engineer's Club to people who want a beautiful wedding that feels personal. You just have to make sure to stay on top of what you want b/c the coordinator we worked with seemed to get distracted and would forget the changes we'd made- there were a few mistakes with food and seating on the day of the wedding. -

We had our wedding reception at the Engineers Club and had a wonderful experience from start to finish! We worked with Asha and she made sure that all of our questions were answered. The Engineers Club has a wonderful staff who was attentive to us throughout the evening - they made sure everything went smoothly. The food was great. The atmosphere was amazing. If we did our wedding all over again, we would do it there again!
My only complaint was that with 190 guests, I think we could have used 1 or 2 more bartenders (they had 4), and more waiters passing horderves. -

The Engineers Club is the perfect venue if you're looking for a romantic, elegant setting for your wedding. We held both our ceremony and reception here and loved it. The ballroom provided a beautiful space for a ceremony (and dancing later in the evening) and the atrium was perfect for dinner that felt like the outdoors (without having to worry about the weather!).
I worked with Asha to create the menu, arrange the decor and organize vendors. I was a bit leery about her responsiveness at times but when it came to the day of my wedding, she was amazing. She was basically my wedding coordinator (without having to pay for one!) and made sure everything ran smoothly. She dealt with the vendors' and guests' questions so I didn't have to.
The Engineers Club is a bit pricey but if you're looking for a unique and elegant setting for your wedding and have the money to spend, I would definitely recommend it! And the space photographs beautifully! -

This venue is so beautiful, the food is delicious, the drinks are poured just right, and the event staff is wonderful; however, I was pretty unhappy with the work of the wedding coordinator, especially the day of the wedding. She seemed to disregard every instruction I gave her, and even wound up losing part of the props for our bridal party announcement into the ceremony due to not listening to my instructions. I also found that I was overcharged a significant amount for our wedding, which she tried to tell me was because we had added something to our menu last minute, which we hadn't. She then didn't send me our final invoice for nearly a week after I requested it to check our final charges. When I was finally able to check the invoice, I was able to prove we were overcharged, as I originally thought. When she called me to "apologize" she seemed upset with me and not truly apologetic like she should've been. I would give 4.5 stars for the venue and all bar and waiter staff, the quality of food and drink, and the overall location and beauty of the venue itself, but only 2 stars for the wedding coordinator. I would recommend this venue to a friend, but not the wedding coordinator. -

I was reading the other review and the bride is correct .This venue is so beautiful, the food is delicious, the drinks are poured just right but buyer beware! I had numerous complaints that our guests never saw the hot appetizers. The small amount in the bridal room were cold and we had 22 people in the party. The bride who had issues with the wedding coordinator is right on target too. She does what she wants and not what you ask her to do. I didn't' have any last minute changes. I had countless meetings and emails with both coordinators and they just blew off my requests as the event was unfolding!! First of all, the coordinator doesn't return emails or phone calls to you or your vendors? We also asked for the invoice ahead as well and when we got it 3 days before the wedding with overcharges. We gave them very detailed floor plans for the seating. My husband did not sit with me at Table 1! He had to sit with the grooms family!! They were told immediately during the seating that there was not a spot for my husband. I was running around trying to find someone to fix the problem . I missed most of his speech. So instead of enjoying my meal I was annoyed at their incompetence .My beautiful flowers that were suppose to be given to my family and friends the next day at a breakfast were given away to the staff without permission!! My expensive head table centerpieces were gone!! I In lieu of favors I made a donation and had a presentation to be put out during the cocktail hour. I found then under a table at 11 p.m. I am still wondering why all of my pastries were never replenished at the dessert table? I paid for strawberries / whipped cream but that was never put out either ? Our gifts were never locked up but left out all night? They say yes to your requests but on the day you will find out that they don't chat with each other or you ! They do what they want even with what you paid for without asking! Hands down, the worst customer service I have EVER experienced in 30+ years. If I could give 0 stars I would. Our first meeting with Krystal was a sign of things to come. She was late, reeked of smoke, and was busy texting another client during the first 10 minutes of our meeting. She then disappeared for 20 minutes leaving my family and me to sit and wait having ignored our request for information to read during her absence. After twenty minutes and asking two staff members to locate her, Krystal returned. Needless to say, it was a bad first impression.
Meeting #2 - Krystal told my fiance and me to arrive at 5pm on a Monday. My fiance took unpaid leave from work in DC to make the trip only to find out the club was closed on Monday evenings.
The drama continues...
Meeting #3 - We had given our budget to Krystal who seemed to ignore our request to work outside of the box to try and stay within our means. Krystal's idea of 'out of the box' was telling us to move our wedding from a Saturday evening to Sunday afternoon since the club could "easily book a party for over $20k on a Saturday". In fact, she emphasized, they would likely be turning people away as our weekend was a popular one. Not what you want to hear as a bride to be.
The last straw - After Krystal made the comment that the Executive Director of the club would have to be contacted to make a decision about our event and how he was likely sitting by his pool and sipping a cocktail so it might take some time to hear back, we were done with the Engineers Club. Not professional. We then reached out to the Executive Director to see if we could salvage our impression of the club. His response to our experience and growing concern was to generously offer to NOT increase the quote we had been given by 10% - a price adjustment scheduled for the following spring.
Not exactly the generosity we were hoping for. Save yourself a migraine and go elsewhere. -
