Best wedding venue - we had ours in the summer. 30 min from Portland, lots of natural florals, had our ceremony at the Forest Terrace which is a $500 add on but SO worth it. The waterfall adds to the aura, we did the mansion sleepover (super Bridgerton vibes), and had the reception in the woodland Cheateau and did the grand entry. I had guests mention it was the most gorgeous wedding they'd ever been too. We had so much fun, the food and wedding cake they offered at the venue was incredible. The whole process of the venue manager speaking to my needs and being flexible in moments was very thoughtful and considerate. I recommend this venue. -

Would highly recommend!
We celebrated our wedding at The Empress Estate Venue on June 27th, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The staff was incredibly helpful and responsive during the entire planning phase. Every question we had was answered promptly, and any concerns were swiftly addressed. On our wedding day, the staff's dedication ensured that everything went off without a hitch, making our event just as we had imagined. My wife and I are thrilled with our choice and would highly recommend The Empress Estate Wedding Venue to anyone looking for a seamless and memorable wedding experience. -

Dream Wedding
This was our dream venue!! Literally, it’s the most gorgeous property! The Empress Estate has both the fairytale castle and the cabin in the woods feel. They provide you with an incredible wedding planner named Sarah who is AMAZING at her job!! She works hard to ensure everything is taken care of and all goes smoothly! Their motto is that everything should be easy and stress free for the couple (and it truly was)!! They have a varieties vendor list that they work with and recommend that are familiar with the venue, to make things easy! They have a great system and process in place to make the whole wedding planning process streamlined and simple to follow as it relates to budgeting, due dates/deadlines, wedding schedule, payment processing, etc. They provide catering, cake, tables/lines/silverware/dishes and so much more! They recommended We and 16 of our guests stayed the night at the mansion and they provided breakfast for us in the morning! We feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to get married at the Empress and to work with Sarah!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! -

They have a very helpful and friendly team that are willing to answer questions especially from someone new to planning a wedding. The whole experience went so smoothly and was beautiful and made my daughter and new husbands day very special. We're so glad that we chose it over any other option we had. Zoe went above and beyond to make our day extra special. My husband and I were both amazed at how much effort he put into it to make it perfect. Zoe accommodated all of our special requests for details and cultural preferences. We got everything in writing on the Empress planning guide and we stuck to the plan. Everything went very smoothy during our event (Zoe and Stevie were around to help out when needed). Best day of our lives! We received great reviews from our friends and family and we will definitely recommend this venue to anyone who is interested. Huge thanks to Zoe and the Empress team for making our dream wedding come true! PS: We were initially concerned about some of the negative reviews but we've personally had a great experience. After sitting down with Zoe, we've learned he has very extensive experience with weddings and he gave us a lot of great advice beforehand to make sure our wedding runs smoothly. If you show respect for the venue and the owner Zoe, you will have a blast! I recieved an email and text message reminder from Stephanie the coordinator the night before! It was nice since I have viewed another vendor who didn't even remember our appointment. When we arrived I instantly knew this was the place I wanted to get married at. The pictures really don't do the experience justice. The tour was given and we all fell in love. The owner of the estate was there and was able to chat with us as well! Overall this place was amazing and we booked that day! -

We had our wedding at empress and it was absolutely our DREAM wedding for under our budget! We are from out of town so we had the all inclusive package, which I highly recommend. We hired a dj and limo service and Empress took care of the rest! The wedding day went perfectly without a beat skipped. Nichole, our coordinator, was AMAZING and made me feel completely relaxed the day of. The food was incredible, and my family of New Yorkers are not easy to please! The wedding cake was superb! My father is a professional baker and we were beyond impressed! I honestly can’t wait to eat some on our anniversary. Nichole had the top of the cake boxed up for us when we were ready to leave! The venue.....you guys, it’s a dream venue for an outdoor wedding! Plus the woodland chateau is gorgeous for indoor, with a huge balcony over looking insanely bright colored hydrangeas and the valley below. We had our dinner out on the balcony and it was so beautiful! Guests repeatedly said it was the most beautiful wedding they’ve ever been too, and I know I’m biased but I feel the same way! -

Our day was absolutely perfect! Stevie, Zoe and their crew attended to our every need through everything. Stevie even went out of her way to fill a last minute special request for sparkling cider because she didn't know that we don't drink alcohol. Zoe was very helpful with our unprepared photographer. He gave him many ideas for our night time photos at the mansion. The food was amazing and our guests are still raving about it. Everything was absolutely perfect from the flowers to the little details on the tables. I have never felt more like a princess than i did that day. Thank you for making our vision come to life and being there for all of our little needs. -

Oh my goodness. I am still in disbelief over how absolutely perfect my wedding day was. I can truly say that this day was the BEST day of my life, and a huge part of that is due to the excellent team at the Empress. The planning process with Ambree and Nichole was fabulous, easy and fun. Zoe, the owner was fantastic and eager to please. The Empress mansion is incredible and breath taking, and has hundreds of amazing photo opportunities, just calling your name!
My now husband, Scott and I had our reception at the newer building, the Woodland Chateau. Wow. Just wow. The space is absolutely gorgeous. We didn't feel the need to bring in much decor at all. Natural lighting just flooded the space and allowed for some amazing photographs. The venue's grounds are breath taking as well. It is high up on a hill so you will be able to see the river in the distance and the town down below. Awesome selfie opportunities just everywhere ;)
Back to the day of the wedding. Nichole is the woman of the hour, let me tell you. She made it happen and made everything flow so smoothly from beginning to end. She made sure everyone stuck to the schedule and that everyone was happy and had what they needed. ALSO. MY WEDDING DAY WAS HER BIRTHDAY! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY NICHOLE! She is the true MVP.
I couldn't recommend this venue more. Go take a tour, you will not regret it. Oh btw, the food is to die for. -

So starting at the beginning, our first visit was right after they finished the chateau so Stevie was really excited to show it off to us and let me say it is beautiful up there, After we finished the whole tour we had definitely decided to pick them as our location for the wedding since everything was just so gorgeous. Which led to picking packages and signing contracts, everything was nicely laid out and explained in depth after Zoe got some details about what we were looking for. Once we left that afternoon we were really clear and happy with our choice. Next up were the planning sessions where we got to sit down and plan out the menu, as well as certain decor choices each time they were really organized and had a clear plan for what was to be accomplished at that meeting. We also went to one of the tastings so we could ensure that our food choices were good, and let me say the food is amazing especially when you consider that a lot of catering places kinda phone it in for large scale production (all of our guests were raving about the food!).
Now fast-forward to the actual wedding night. We had a HUGE issue in that the person bringing my Husband's suit was about two hours late, once we told the venue what was happening Ambree and Zoe jumped into action to rearrange and make sure that our guests still had a great time while we were waiting on it to arrive. Ambree did a great job of keeping me in the loop as to what the plans were and what was going on downstairs since I had to stay up in the room. Their flexibility and quick thinking definitely made it so we were able to still have a beautiful wedding. Everyone on staff that night really went above and beyond which really helped ease all the anxiety I was having about the delay. If anyone asked me if I would recommend The Empress Estate I would say yes in a heartbeat, I can't imagine our day without the help and support of everyone involved that night. -

Lauren Sent on 04/30/2018The Empress Estate is a gorgeous venue tons of options of ceremony & reception locations. It is the dream wedding venue - and yet still affordable! On top of that, the food is delicious and the service is awesome! Katie was our wedding planner during the process, and she helped us every step of the way. On the day of, the owners, Zoe & Stevie made my day wonderful and were able to easily and quickly flip around our schedule at the last minute when our officiant didn't show up. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to book a wedding!

I recently held my wedding at The Empress, and I can't recommend it enough! The planning process was seamless and I didn't have to worry about many vendors required for wedding thanks to their numerous options for food, cake, decorations, and beverage plans. The food was delicious, with plenty for all our guests, and the cake was a highlight as well.
The venue itself is stunning, and the staff is incredibly attentive, ensuring everything went smoothly. They are also very transparent about their contracts, making everything easy to understand. I appreciated their monthly payment plan, which alleviated financial stress leading up to the big day.
One of the features I liked is the flexibility in guest count; you can finalize numbers just a month before the event. This is a huge advantage compared to hiring third-party catering.
Lastly, I highly recommend considering their preferred vendors as they know very well how the Empress operates. I especially recommend Stevie, the florist—she's both affordable and talented.
Overall, The Empress made our wedding unforgettable! -

A Memory we will Treasure
We chose the Empress Estates to be our wedding venue not because it has stunning landscape, 10 different spots on the property to have a wedding ceremony, can accommodate up to 300 people, and has a mansion (that you can stay at!), but for the fact that they coordinate the wedding, provide catering and the cake, as well as have alternative options if it happens to rain on your outdoor plans! That's right, they can relocate everything indoors! Which is a must when trying to plan an outdoor wedding in Washington State. Zoe got us started on our journey with planning the wedding at his venue. He is a man with a plan and definitely has mastered the wedding planning process down to the minute. He will provide you with a list of his preferred vendors, but will work with whoever you pick as long as they agree to stick with the timeline you and he will put together for your special day. He will need to have an idea of how many people you plan to invite, and a potential day for the wedding selected for him to work up numbers for you. I loved that you could get ready at the venue and they have a room upstairs for the Bridal party and one for the Groom and his men! Day of the wedding, Sarah ended up being our coordinator. She was amazing! New exactly where to be before we even knew we needed her. She kept everyone organized and on time. Made it super easy to know where we needed to be. The catering was wonderful, everyone was super kind and thoughtful. I chose the buffet style for the food (which I should have mentioned, he has cake tasting events throughout the year that you can attend and sample the food and cake! As well as explore the grounds and see the mansion). Everyone enjoyed the meal and cake, and the sparkler send off was a success! Thank you all for providing and maintaining a beautiful property, and having a team that worked together to make our day run smoothly. It was truly a pleasure working with you all, and a memory that I will treasure. -

Wonderful experience with The Empress Estate!! Everything turned out perfect and exactly as planned for our wedding in April 2019. Our cake was fantastic (highly recommend the Earl Grey Spiced with Lavendar and the Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese filling!!!), the food was a HIT and the set up was perfect. I was initially a little worried with the spacing and table set up during our planning session/email correspondence, but it all worked out day of and the staff made every effort they could to ensure everything went smoothly and set everything up with my wishes in mind. Long story short - based on the mock-ups, I was nervous that we weren't going to have enough dance floor space with the amount of tables and our 6-piece band (usually, weddings booked here use a DJ service..) but we did and it was AWESOME!!
The grounds are so beautiful, you truly do not need much decoration. However, they allowed us to bring flower petals for the reception tables and our own small pre-made floral arrangements for the aisle and later used them on the cocktail tables.
Nichole was OUTSTANDING day of and had the help of Stevie co-owner/florist for all things coordination. We had an extreme last minute change of ceremony location because the weather took a turn for the BEST and allowed us to stick to our original outdoor setting. The staff were so flexible and helped make it happen with ease! So many people commented on how it was the best and most beautiful wedding they have been to because it truly was so magical.
No wedding is PERFECT.. we had a couple very minor things but in all honesty, they were just that - very minor and all the good that happened far outweighed the "bad". Sure, there were some things I would have changed but what Brides and Grooms need to understand is NO ONE notices those little things except for you and if you fret and stew over every little detail, getting married truly probably shouldn't be on your list of things to do because there are always going to be some problems with EVERY wedding venue/vendors. I would 100% recommend Empress Estate to couples because our experience was nothing short of amazing and damn near perfect especially since everything was a one-stop shop. -

A Dream Come True
Look no further for reviews and CHOOSE this venue! The owner takes the time to listen to every detail for your special day and make it come true. They have so many services available including: catering, sound systems, decorations, alcohol service, florist, etc! The venue itself has so many beautiful areas, including the Empress Estate, the Chateau, the open fields, gardens, arbors, and more. They truly help your wedding go smoothly by bringing the services to you, providing an excellent staff catering to your every need, and consistent communication during the planning process.

I fell in love with this venue when I first came to visit. I live in the Seattle area, so it was a bit of a drive for me and many of my friends/family, but it was TOTALLY worth it! My wedding went flawlessly, and everything was just so easy. The coordinator kept everything moving along, and we smoothly transitioned from ceremony, to cocktail hour, on to the reception. Everyone gets a little worried and flustered on their big day, but my coordinator and staff made everything go so beautifully!
The venue itself is gorgeous. I got lucky and had a beautiful, sunny day for my wedding (despite it being the second to last weekend in September), so we were able to have the ceremony outside in front of the Empress, and cocktail hour by the fireside. Everyone kept raving about how beautiful everything was, literally every guest was blown away, and asked how we found it, and everyone keeps complimenting us and telling us what a great time they had!
I can't speak too much about the food, I was way too excited to really eat! Haha. The few bites I had were good! But guests really enjoyed the food. They even made everything gluten free for us (as I and several guests require it), even the cake and cupcakes! (although they are not a 100% gluten free facility, for anyone that may need that level of non-contamination) We ended up doing cupcakes, and they made a cutting cake for us. It was very cute, and yummy, and they had it boxed up and ready to go for us. One of our cupcake flavors was spiced earl grey with lavender cream cheese frosting, and guests were raving about them. The staff even boxed up the extra for people to take home.
We opted to rent out the bnb afterwards for the wedding party and ourselves, so after the reception we went to our rooms, checked them out, and then had our midnight snack out by the fireside (where we had cocktail hour). It was so fun to unwind with our close family and friends, and I'm SO glad we opted to do that! The owner, Zoe, himself brought out the snacks and extra cupcakes, and cups and water and everything we needed. The bnb guests absolutely loved it, and it gave us more time with them, which was so great!
I really can't recommend this venue enough. They made everything so easy, and seriously allowed me to have the wedding I've always dreamed of! I can't stop looking at all the lovely photos, and thinking about how amazing everything was. I could not be happier! -

Absolutely Stunning Venue
This place is the most beautiful of you are looking for that fairytale wedding. Everyone raved about how beautiful the venue was. The quality of the food day of exceeded my expectations as well! I had a few issues with getting email responses about a couple months before the event, but in the end everything was perfect and exactly how I wanted it! And the day of coordinator Stephanie was super flexible about making sure we got exactly what we wanted! This place is worth the price! -

The Empress Estates is a beautiful venue. Our wedding was on September 28th, and it was amazing. We highly recommend the Empress, with its gorgeous view and picturesque scenery for photos, as well as the professionalism the Empress Team demonstrated throughout our wedding planning phase (I do have to say I was a little worried when the coordinator was changed in between the tour and the wedding day) but it all worked out. We had only positive experiences from our tour leading up to the wedding day. Kim, our event coordinator was EXCELLENT; she exceeded our expectations as a coordinator. Kim took wonderful care of our family and friends and was visible at every turn making her presence known to show she was available and ready to assist if we needed anything. The food was great, everyone enjoyed the meal and the cake was delicious.

The Empress Estate has been a great experience. Everyone was complimenting on how great the venue designed looked. From Amber, Stephanie, Nichole and Zoe, each and every person who assisted was good. Service was very good. Zoe and his team went out of their way to make things easier. I personally used outside vendors for tableware and linens as they did not have what I needed, not their fault, I'm just a picky bride. Overwhelming for sure! So much planning and so much doing. I recommend The Empress Estate. -

The Empress Estate is a lovely venue! We fell in love with the location within seconds of driving up for the first time. We toured the venue in the summer of 2018 and knew this was the spot we wanted to celebrate our special day. Thankfully our date was available. Planning for our day was very simple and wasn’t stressful what so ever. The Empress has a variety of wedding packages and they coordinate a few planning sessions to make everything flow and come together with ease. During the year of planning we did have a transition between a few event specialists but nothing got lost during the transition in staff.
Our wedding was in July 2019! We used three areas within the venue. The ceremony was held outside in a lovely forest terrace, we used the Woodland Chateau for dinner, toasts, etc. and then moved down to the Empress for dancing! We were one of the Empress’ first same sex marriages as well and all of the staff made everyone feel welcomed! Zoe even agreed to switch out the lights around the Empress from white lights to rainbow colored lights. The venue was glowing in color during the late night hours.
We also rented out the Empress suites for the wedding party to stay in. Zoe brought out an outstanding midnight snack and fixed up a scrumptious breakfast the next morning for all of our guests who stayed overnight.
All in all the Empress Estate staff was fantastic and having Nichole, our event specialist, available on the day of to help watch the clock and manage the timeline was as huge help to the overall flow of the day. We highly recommend the Empress Estate to every engaged couple.

Bradley Sent on 08/11/2018When looking for a wedding venue, we focused our search on historic mansions in the Portland – Seattle corridor. We wanted a venue that offered our guests a distinctive and memorable experience; an event that they would remember for many years to come. After visiting our Top 5 options, we quickly chose to book with the Empress Estate. The packages offered were very clear and inclusive. Things that are add-ons at most venues were included as standard, and that made planning and managing vendors easier for us and our coordinator. The venue itself offers tremendous flexibility, and we built a plan that leveraged the full capabilities of the property. We used the mansion for our Cocktail Hour and overnight experiences. We used the Forest Amphitheatre for our Ceremony, and we used the Woodland Chateau for the Welcome Reception and the Wedding Dinner & Dance. Working with Lindsay was a pleasure, as she is very precise and offered helpful suggestions during planning, the rehearsal and the day-of. The chef prepares food that has great flavor, seasoning, and presentation – far above most wedding providers. The cake was superb, and many of our guests kept asking who we ordered it from (Empress!). Finally, we added on a Dessert Bar for midway through the dance and our guests LOVED it! Working with Empress was easy, and when the weather for our wedding weekend was forecast to be significantly warmer than normal, Zoe sat down with us and helped us work through some event modifications based on how the sun/shadows work at the property. He even had bottles of iced-down water placed by the ceremony venue for our guests. Overall, I would highly recommend the Empress Estate for a wedding or even for a corporate offsite event.

Ariel Sent on 07/30/2018We both loved how magical this venue looked! Honestly, everything about it was pretty much exactly what we expected with very little hiccups. The food was absolutely to die for, our friends and family are still talking about the prime rib and chicken Cordon Bleu. We did the root beer cake as our special choice, and I'm pretty sure almost the entire thing got eaten. There are a lot of hills and very little wheelchair access ( which wasn't a big problem for us since we didn't have an elderly guest list) but it's definitely something to be aware of if you do have someone that is. If you check the venue out ahead of time though you will see :-) we absolutely recommend booking the venue overnight, both my husband and I agreed that it was the best part of the entire experience getting to see our wedding party the next morning as well and having that extra day to clean up.
