We had our wedding reception at Emerald Event Center in September 2025. I have nothing but positive things to say! Shannon was incredibly helpful and flexible throughout the process. The staff were all friendly and accommodating at the event.
We received compliments from guests on how beautiful the ballroom looked. The patio was enjoyed during cocktail hour. Our guests enjoyed the food! We had our wedding at the Emerald in July 2025. From the moment we toured the venue, we knew this was the place we wanted to celebrate our special day! The Emerald is a one-stop shop, saving you the hassle of booking and/or working with multiple vendors. This made the wedding planning process so much less stressful as our bar/food service, linens, tables, chairs, and even our wedding cake, were all included in our package at the Emerald!
The Event Center being connected to the hotel was a huge plus, especially since we had so many guests coming in from out of town. Our guests loved being able to step out and enjoy the courtyard patio during cocktail hour and throughout the reception if they needed a quick break from the dance floor. The bridal suite being so close to the ballroom was another huge plus! We were able to change, run to the bathroom, or just take a second to ourselves throughout the night. Shannon and Alyssa were amazing to work with from start to finish! They were patient, flexible, and quick to provide answers or solutions to any concerns we had. Rachel Sent on 11/06/2024The Perfect Wedding Venue that Fit all Our Needs!
We booked the Emerald Event Center for our August 2024 wedding reception and it was absolutely perfect! From the very beginning, our communication with Shannon was prompt and efficient. She was always quick to answer when we had questions and helped us throughout the entire process - adjusting the venue service offering to fit our needs, creating blueprints of the space until we landed on what we liked best, confirming day-of timeline, setting up our venue space and decor on the wedding day (which was amazing and such a stress relief!!), ensuring cocktail hour / dinner went smoothly and more. She was so easy to work with and truly made our experience amazing.
As for the venue itself, it is a large ballroom which gives you the opportunity to be creative with how you set things up. We used the hallway and outside patio space for cocktail hour. The food was really great and we received a lot of compliments on it! We also received a complimentary wedding cake which was a really nice add on! It looked beautiful and tasted very good too! One of the best parts about this venue is that it is attached to the hotel, which makes things SUPER convenient for guests. So many guests stayed the night which kept the party going! The hotel bar also stayed open for us until 1am for an "after party" which was fun way to wrap up our wedding night!
Overall, we would highly recommend booking the Emerald Event Center as your wedding venue if you are considering it. You will not be disappointed!The Emerald Event Center at the Residence Inn by Marriott Cleveland/Avon's reply:

Oh my goodness!!! If you are considering the Emerald Event Center for your wedding, DO IT! We just got married on 10.12.2024 and I only have amazing things to say. The EEC staff was spectacular, responsive, and professional. They answered any questions from me or my guests. The food was PHENOMENAL. Multiple guests told us that this was the BEST food they had ever had at a wedding. The staff decorated the space exactly how I wanted and checked with me ahead of time to make sure it was all correct. The lighting in the ballroom is completely spectacular. I knew it would be cool but was absolutely blown away when the multicolored lights came on and dancing started.
The coordinator/manager Shannon was professional, calm, and so incredibly organized. She really knows her stuff and made sure that there was nothing to stress us out whatsoever.
If you want to have a blast on your wedding day and to have a beautiful wedding you are proud of, book with the Emerald Event Center. You will certainly not regret it.The Emerald Event Center at the Residence Inn by Marriott Cleveland/Avon's reply:

Shannon and the entire EEC staff were professional, courteous, flexible, and made for an extraordinary wedding and reception for us, our family, and friends. Accomodations, food, and drinks were outstanding as we received nothing but accolades for the venue. Special kudos go to the bartender for the evening. He received rave reviews for his drink mixology and service with flair. EEC should be very proud of the team and we highly recommend for any event! Perfect Wedding Day
Myself, my husband, and my guests had an absolute blast at our wedding here! It was so nice to be able to have our guests since a lot of them were from out of town not worry about transportation to and from reception and could just walk up to their rooms if need be! The planning process with Shannon was well organized, I knew we were in great hands and Shannon would be there to answer any questions. When I had ideas of what I wanted to do (as long as they were reasonable) Shannon made them happen! It was so nice too that our package included tablecloths/linens, our cake provided by Top Tier Cakes, and everything the party needed so that we could just bring in our decorations which the Emerald Event Center team set up beautifully. Honestly, it was better than we could have ever imagined. I'd highly recommend working with Shannon and the team at the Emerald Event Center. We couldn't of asked for a better venue for our wedding reception! From the start of planning to the very day everything was PERFECT! Shannon was great and answered all questions and was great with communicating. The food was outstanding. This was the best day of our life and it was absolutely perfect. The staff was great with setting up and clearing plates and what not through the night. Everyone was so nice and helpful through it all. Would recommend to anyone. -

A perfect day
Shannon Besenfelder and the staff at the Emerald Event Center were unbelievably professional, efficient, accommodating, and kind. We had the best day of our lives! They thought of everything from putting champagne and chocolates in our wedding night suite to making sure all of the small details were taken care of. Our reception ran unbelievably smoothly! We worked with Shannon Besenfelder for our wedding on July 29th and could not have been more impressed. From the moment we toured the venue all the way to the reception, Shannon was in constant contact and made us feel totally confident.
We wanted a venue that didn't require any setup on our part. Emerald was perfect because I was able to drop off all of the centerpieces, table cards, etc. and all we had to do was get married and enjoy the evening. The room looked even more gorgeous than we anticipated!
I wish I could get married again simply to work with Shannon. You can tell she loves what she does. Shannon made wedding planning completely stress-free and was able to accommodate all of our requests.
Our guests had high praise for the food and staff (thank you Sue and Kevin!). They especially loved being able to walk upstairs to their room after an open bar. We can't say enough wonderful things about hosting our wedding at the Emerald Event Center. Shannon and her team were amazing to work with. From our initial consultation meeting, we really felt that Shannon cared about providing a unique and positive experience. She was always responsive and timely in her communications and quick to answer any questions we had. We have continued to receive many compliments from our guests about the reception. The food, catered in-house, was the best wedding food we've ever had. The hotel connected to the reception space was especially convenient for our large number of out-of-town guests with a very reasonable hotel block price. The venue staff did an excellent job setting up the venue to our specifications. We could not be more pleased with how accommodating, friendly, and professional everything was. Where to even begin? Our May wedding at Emerald Event Center was absolutely perfect. The staff, ESPECIALLY Shannon, was so amazing to work with. Shannon was incredible -- she would respond immediately to any questions, talk through anything you need, and made us feel so special on our wedding day. And the food/bar, wow! I have rarely ever been to a wedding that I said "wow this food is amazing"... ALL of our guests raved about our food, including my husband and I. When you go for a food tasting, they set it up for you like the tables will be set for the wedding which makes you feel valued and special. The cake is included from Top Tier Cakes in Westlake which makes for such a simple process when booking the venue, and all around we could not have been happier with the food & desserts. We got the upgraded bar package which was also a hit with our guests. There were so many options and the bartenders were very fun to work with-- they were even dancing while making drinks, how fun!
We also had a lot of moving parts to our day/night because we were surprising our guests with a choreographed first dance that included spark machines. Shannon was so kind and supportive of us and she even allowed us to practice in the space a few weeks ahead of the wedding so that we could feel comfortable on the wedding day. It may have been a small gesture to them, but to us it showed us they were wanting and willing to go above and beyond to make our vision come to life.
I could go on for hours about how much we loved our wedding, but I will end with this. We talked with Shannon previously about how much we love wine, and even handmade our wine bottle centerpieces. The first piece of mail I got with my new name was from Shannon, inviting us to a wine tasting event at emerald with a handwritten note. This just goes to show how much she cares for her clients.

Shannon was AWESOME! My event went off so well. The hotel held our decorartions and even our marriage contract the day before. One stop shop. They cleaned up everything afterward and put our decorations in front of our suite so we could easily take it home. The food was GREAT! So many compliments. An absolutely perfect day!!
My husband and I began researching venues to host our wedding last year. We happened to come across Emerald Event Center and decided to make an appointment. We were immediately blown away by the venue, location, hotel amenities, and how knowledgeable Shannon was. Upon booking our date for 8/27/22, we had no idea that we were making the absolute best decision! Shannon was phenomenal at answering phone calls and e-mails. She truly went above and beyond with everything from start to finish! On our wedding weekend, the staff were all so kind and helpful to us! Everything was more than we could have ever asked for or dreamed of! From the food to the small details everything was the best! We got so many compliments from our guests, too! Super simply put, you will not get anymore bang for your buck anywhere else. The Emerald Event Center is beautiful, clean, new, and attentive. They handle nearly everything and make sure the logistics are taken care of, even on rehearsal day. I’ve heard so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was and how delicious dinner tasted. The people at E.E.C. were incredibly friendly and helpful. They were also very accommodating, as we had a "Covid" wedding and constantly had to make changes. We requested a Vegetarian only menu. The Chef came up with a unique (& fabulous) menu. Shannon, our coordinator took care of everything on our wedding day. I didn't have to worry about setting up a single decoration. She made it beautiful and exactly how I envisioned. We initially thought we didn't want a "hotel" for our venue. But I am so glad we went this route. Neither the ceremony or reception rooms, had a hotel/conference room feel. Absolutely perfect venue!!!
Planning a wedding through Covid, you would think be a nightmare. Kelly made the experience so enjoyable and so much less stressful than I expected. Kelly was fantastic figuring out ways to keep the wedding elegant even while following safety protocols from the state. She listened to my ideas and did everything she could to make our wedding perfect. She truly cared about making our day special and personal. The venue was stunning and the food was great. Perfect is an understatement for how great this venue was. -

I can’t say enough amazing things about the Emerald room and our event planner Shannon! Everything I could ever imagine was put into place to make my wedding exactly how I envisioned it to be. It was so nice to have Shannon help with honestly everything, she gave great input and recommendations, helped with the set up of both our ceremony and reception, and overall put my mind at ease that she could handle anything brought upon her. The venue is beautiful, providing literally everything you could think of to make a perfect wedding. The food was awesome, the staff was attentive and helpful, and ever wish within reason was granted. Amanda Sent on 06/05/2018We primarily worked with Emily during our wedding planning process with The Emerald Event Center and she was AMAZING! All of the planning, any question I had, Emily was there with fast responses and friendliness. She even went above and beyond and did fun little extra things for us that we weren’t expecting (like giving me an extra side of mashed potatoes with my meal since she found out how much I loved them and giving my husband his favorite potato we tried at the tasting, with his meal on our wedding day even though that’s not the starch we went with) and a few other things that to me was a reflection of her character and she’s absolutely perfect for the job.
Emily had her cousins wedding the day of our wedding so she could not be there (which is completely understandable) and we had Shannon filling in for Emily. My husband and I both felt that we were lucky to have Shannon fill in for Emily and she did a perfect job helping with the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner Friday night and the entire wedding day on Saturday. Shannon made sure everything went as smoothly as possible and we are very lucky to have been able to work with her too.
Mindy is such a sweet sweet woman. We are so lucky that we got to work with her for our wedding too! She stayed until almost midnight on Friday night working and that work ethic is amazing to me. We were putting up our backdrop Friday night while she was in there and she got an extension cord for us, when we were trying to untangle our lights she brought out mini water bottles for us. She is seriously one of the sweetest women I have ever met and she is also perfect for the job she does.

The entire staff was so easy to work with throughout the planning process. Shannon made sure to keep everything on track and checked in with me often. Every guest raved about how gorgeous our reception was, how amazing the service was and how absolutely delicious the food was. The food was cooked to perfection. Every staff member was extremely courteous and polite. If there was a spill on the dance floor, a staff member was near by to clean it up. Any last minute changes were quickly changed by Shannon's amazing staff. Our reception was absolutely perfect!! Thank you so much to Emerald for the reception of our dreams! -
