The District Reviews

The District was an amazing venue for our wedding! Ginger and her team made sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Ginger was very organized from the first time we met with her, and she worked with us to make everything exactly how we wanted it. We had a plated meal catered by ROAM, and the food was great. Additionally, we had both our ceremony and reception at The District, with a cocktail hour in between, and the switchover was seamless. The decor, lighting, etc. looked amazing and all of our guests loved the venue. We couldn't be happier with the way everything turned out and we are so glad we chose The District to host our big day!

The District was a naturally beautiful venue for our wedding day! We did very little decorating because the place is big and is perfect the way it is! They were very responsive and attentive to whatever we needed. The District was reasonable price wise and they offered many different options to cater to how you want your wedding! If we were to do it all over again, we would chose The District again!

We recently had our wedding reception at The District and it was perfect! Shawn really went above and beyond for us to help make our reception special. He was always very responsive for any questions we had, and was never too busy to meet with us in person. Everyone there made sure that our reception went by extremely well, and there were no hiccups. We got so many compliments on our venue from guests and we couldn't recommend The District more for your reception!

The setup was perfect! On arrival, our guests went to the balcony for drinks & popcorn. This helped keep the dinner tables neat and allowed people to interact with others not sitting at their table. We put our head table on the stage and 300 guests on the floor. It didn't feel crowded at all. The venue is already beautiful and didn't need a ton of decorating. They have up-lighting options as well that are an extra cost, but worth it.
They were able to do 2 buffet lines and get guests served right away! There are so many bathroom stalls that there is never a guest waiting. Also, a huge perk was the bridal sweet/lounge that had a bathroom, couch, chairs, table, etc.
It was fun working with Shawn. He was very laid back, never pushy, but kept me on track when it came down to the final week. He was always quick to get back to me via phone call, text, or email.
Overall fantastic experience!

My daughter and son-in-law got married in Sioux Falls Sept 1st 2018 and we had the reception at The District! We were so pleased with everything. Shaw was so wonderful to work with. He was open to working with anything to make this day perfect! The food was delicious and we were served huge portions. The wine glasses were always filled to the top and the beer was cold. The staff was so friendly and so helpful throughout the evening. I definitely would recommend The District!

The District was perfect for our 200+ guest reception. The food was great as was the service. They were very accommodating, even with our last minute changes!

Excellent place to work with! You are able to tell them what you want for your wedding reception and they make your vision come to life! This place is priced higher than other venues, but well worth the extra cost! This venue definitely made our reception stand out from other wedding receptions. Plus, the food is to die for!!!

We had our wedding here September 2019. Highly recommend for couples looking for a modern twist to their special day! If you can dream it you can do it with the district ( for a price, but worth it!). We did ceremony and reception here and our guest loved it. The staff was amazing worked quickly to switch the venue (tear down chairs and set up tables) in less than 30 min. Servers and bartenders were also pleasant. Only "negative" thing to say is there was an issue with our dinners (supposed to be beef and mashed potatoes and chicken with rice and we were served rice with beef.. not a major deal. Slightly disappointing, but once brought to their attention it was corrected for the majority of our guests). Communicating could be better, back and forth emails does get confusing for both the wedding planners and hosts, but worth it because they ensured every detail of the day had been considered!
