Perfect Band!

We chose the Dickens to perform at our wedding in Lexington, VA. They created the perfect atmosphere and kept all ages on the dance floor the entire night. It was evident that they really enjoyed their work, and their energy and joy really helped elevate the party. Everyone raved about them (and continued to months later).

Best Decision we made!

We had The Dickens perform at our wedding in Lake Placid NY. They were the party. They catered the music to our interests and customized a huge mash of the hits we love. At the end of the night all of our guests were screaming encore. All of our guests said it was the best music they have heard at a wedding. Best decision we made.

Toss out the 11-piece band for these guys

We hired the Dickens (out of NC, via Sam Hill Bands) for our June 18, 2022 wedding in Virginia. Sam Hill made the hiring process seamless and set clear terms for what to expect throughout the lead up to our wedding. The company was also responsive when our venue didn't have the standard listed accommodations (dressing room & power level), and worked with us to make the event happen.

We were given the option to send the Dickens one song that we asked them to learn - our first dance - along with 5 songs we needed them to play, 5 songs we'd like them to play, and 5 songs not to play (we didn't send this last bit because everything sounded SO good). They accommodated our traditionally piano first dance, adapting it perfectly to guitar.

The energy was so high all night. They customized songs to our names to make it more fun. They engaged with those in the front row on the dance floor, and on their breaks they played songs like the "Wobble" and "Cha Cha slide" (we're sure you could ask them not to do that) that got so many of our friends strutting their stuff on the dance floor.

Finally, we had a small space -- but that wasn't a factor in our choosing them -- they just sounded more skillful than most larger wedding bands we listened to. It worked out with spacing, so if your venue is looking tight and they are in your budget, The Dickens is a great option.

absolutely Fabulous !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As the Father of the groom and partly responsible for booking this band they did not disappoint. They even let me sit in on a song and surprise my Son as I jammed down with them. The guests couldn't stop talking about the evening. Thanks so much Dickens Band. The Love was spread.

There really are no words to describe how AMAZING The Dickens were at our wedding. They literally MADE the party. A month later and we still have friends and family talking about how we had the most fun wedding they had ever been to, mostly thanks to The Dickens. From the second our reception started, until after the lights came out the Dickens ROCKED! There's simply no other way to say it. Our entire crowd was up and dancing the whole night - the music always seemed to be the exact song you wanted to hear and our guests of all ages enjoyed the mix and variety. I wish we had a reason to throw another party and have them play. My husband and I both love music and we see a ton of live music, so many of our guests also love and see a ton of live music. They were blown away at how much fun The Dickens were. My best memory from the whole day/night was at the end when the band got my husband and I on stage to sing with them and we looked out into the crowd and saw all of our friends and family singing and dancing along with us. I will have that memory forever. If you are looking for a super fun, talented band for your wedding with a diverse catalog of music that will have you and your guests dancing all night, HIRE THE DICKENS! And please, invite us to come :)

We chose our wedding date to coincide with The Dickens availability. They are fabulous! Best wedding ever! Everyone danced all night long.

Best Band Ever!!! Food was not ready on time before wedding so while people were eating they were too... so instead of two 15 min breaks they used both of their 15 min break for dinner and played the whole night. Crowd was going from ages 11-90 until 11 p.m.! people are talking about them from our wedding at other weddings. loved getting the crowd going!

We used to go see The Dickens in college at ECU so we couldn't have imagined our day without them. My friends are still raving about it. They've recommended the band to other brides they know! Our day was an absolute blast and I couldn't be happier with our selection! This band with always be near and dear to our hearts.

What a PLEASURE to work with the Dickens Band!!! Speaking with Frank before the wedding assured me we had made the right decision!! We truly fell in love with their promo video and were so excited to have them play at our wedding! They delivered nothing less than an amazing performance that night!! Everyone couldn't stop talking about how great our band was and engaging they were with the crowd! I would highly recommend The Dickens to anyone in search for such a talented group to perform live at your events!!

Everyone at the wedding reception loved dancing to the Dickens. They were great at reading the crowd and picking songs that everyone would enjoy. They were able to entertain both my 85 year old grandparents and my teenagage siblings! Their energy was amazing and they kept the night moving acting as MC for the cake cutting, first dance, etc. The most common feedback we get when we reminicse with friends about the wedding is the band. They are worth every penny.

WOW, the Dickens band is amazing!!! They made the wedding event! I changed my entire wedding date around the Dickens for the only weekend they were available!! I had heard them at 2 other weddings and several shows in Raleigh. They were fantastic, they sure know how to throw a party!

The Dickens put on one hell of a show. They get the crowd up and keep them engaged at all times. There is never a dull moment. They do great mashups that make sure that every generation in attendance is enjoying the music.

The lead singer accidentally called my wife the wrong name a few times and seemed to have one too many drinks - but compared to the quality of music and entertainment - those are only minor nits. I still recommend this group my highest recommendation.

Great band, bad communication

These guys sounded great, and our guests had an excellent time on the dance floor. Would have been much better if we had coordinated something beforehand, being forced to sing American Girl by Tom Petty (a song I hate) was torture and literally the only stain on the entire wedding day for me.
