Stunning everything!
I can’t say enough to express how incredible our wedding experience was at The Historic Davenport Hotel! Our planners were not only professional but so kind. We felt like they treated us like family. I have to give a shout out to Mackenzie Huff, Sasha Baron, Meagan Nillson and Nicole St. Laurent. They took care of every detail and all we had to do was show up and enjoy our special day. Thank you ladies!!! I’ll forever be grateful for all of you!!!!! -

Sabrina and al the other gals and staff went above and beyond, not only was my wedding beautiful they treated us like royalty. They never once let me know of anything that went wrong. Matter of fact my engagement ring was lost almost the entire night and I was none the wise until it was found. I couldn't recommend them.or sing their praises more. They were phenomenal.-

A++! I highly recommend this classy, elegant, and stunning venue to every bride out there!! Our wedding was on 8/18/18, with the ceremony in the Isabella Ballroom and reception in the Marie Antoinette Ballroom, and our wedding ended up to be a truly perfect experience. In fact, we had so many guests saying it was the best wedding they’ve attended and that it was genuinely a princess dream-come-true event! I can honestly say that I will forever have the upmost gratitude for all of the wedding coordinators and Davenport Hotel staff as a whole for such an incredible experience! I can't say enough great things about all of them and how hard everyone worked to make sure our wedding day was perfect! It truly was the fairy-tale wedding of our dreams and we have The Davenport to thank for that! The staff worked endlessly to keep ourselves, our wedding party, and our guests happy. They listened to everything we wanted and made it all come true. This venue is worth every single penny and more! And the ballroom architecture is absolutely breathingtaking! Thank you to The Davenport staff for making this the best day of our lives!!!! -

Here is the deal (I rarely ever write reviews), you MUST have your Big Day at the Davenport! A lot of our friends recently had weddings at other places and I know their experience was exponentially more stressful. Not us. The "Dav" is a well-oiled wedding machine that will give you your dream wedding with basically no stress. Sabrina, the wedding coordinator, went above and beyond numerous times to ensure our day went smooth and seamlessly. We would do it again without question, to be honest I would have happily paid MORE for their outstanding work. Keep it up Davenport! -

Myself and my bridesmaids got our hair and makeup one in the salon and spa. It was absolutely perfect and all of the staff was so nice. We all got exactly what we wanted. -

Wonderful hotel for out-of-town guests. Very easy to work with. The historic is very grand, and the tower is more modern. My guests were in the historic and they were impressed. -

The Flower shop at the Davenport did an amazing job. We told Tammy what we wanted and what our budget was and She figured out how to create arrangements that looked exactly how we described and under budget. We reused the arrangements from the ceremony in the reception, and before any of the guests had entered the reception room the flower shop had already moved all the flowers so the guests had no idea we reused them. They were always friendly and helpful and very attentive to our requests. The bridal bouquet was incredible, nobody could believe how perfect it looked and that the flowers were real. Even if you are not having a wedding at the Davenport we recommend the flower shop for your floral needs. -

The team of women that The Davenport has to help with the wedding is priceless! Brianna (the wedding planner) was incredible to work with! She was always on the ball with making sure she and I were on the same page and she did it in a way that was a stress relief for myself and my husband. The other girls there were perfect at helping me keep everything coordinated and just always there to help which allowed me to step back and breath. I cannot say enough about how well and how easy it was to plan my wedding with them.
Aside from planning the wedding, when it came to out of town family and guests, the Davenport kept us up to date as to discounts for the family. We had family from NC come to the wedding and they told us it was so easy to book a room for the time frame around the wedding. To have everyone with us on that day was a blessing but to have them in the same hotel of where the wedding was at so we can spend additional time with them was perfect. I would do it all over again in a heart beat and still go with The Davenport for my wedding! -

Tammy (from the Davenport flower shop) worked within our budget to create absolutely beautiful designs for our wedding. Initially I was not sure how our wedding ideas would mesh with the Davenport's because my fiancé and I had a very modern, minimalistic design in mind. We were also planning the wedding from San Francisco which made it difficult to be completely sure about how things would look in the end. However, Tammy completely met and exceeded our expectations. She understood our taste. I was thrilled with the results and would recommend the Davenport's flower team to anyone. -

I would highly recommend the Davenport Hotel for any brides looking for a place for their reception. Especially if you have people coming from out of town. We were treated like royalty. It is an amazing value for the service provided. We also used their florist which we were truly impressed with! We will forever cherish our wedding day! -

We couldn't have asked for a greater team working for us! Briana met with us several times to go over details. And she was more than happy to meet with us every time we wanted to change or add something. She offered her advice when she felt it was appropriate to do so. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect! Everything was exactly as we dreamed it would be!! The team went so far as to place a couple pieces of cake in our suite that night. It's the personal touches like that that we really enjoyed. We can't say enough good things about them!! -

Our wedding reception at the Davenport Hotel was absolutely perfect!! The catering service was the most professional team I dealt with. They answered all my questions promptly and with good detail. On the day of there was nothing I had to worry about, nothing! They kept us on schedule and everything went smoothly. I wish we could have had more time for the price we spent but that is my only negative comment. I would do it over again there in a heartbeat. -

The staff at The Davenport could not have been more helpful for my brunch reception in one of their smaller ballrooms. From helping me find a date and an available room to choosing my menu -- I went from engaged to married in only 2 1/2 months -- they were there for me. If anything did go wrong on the day of my wedding, I'll never know because the staff managed it all effortlessly. -

I believe the Wedding department was under a transition in staff during my wedding planning which caused the lack in communication. Once a new Wedding Events Coordinator was hired the communication was much more streamlined. -

The Davenport was great to work with. They did an excellent job and I was really pleased with our reception. They were less responsive than I would have liked and I had to pester them quite often to get the details I needed. My only other complaint is that they did not follow the table numbering scheme I provided them for the reception. Not a huge deal, but it did put our bridal party and the opposite end of the room than the bride and groom at the sweetheart table. I intended to have the bridal party closer to us, but they missed that detail. -

The Davenport Hotel is gorgeous, and that is all that really needs to be said. There are so many beautiful restored ballrooms to choose from, the staff is courteous and professional and the food was amazing. The only downfall is that you cannot do outside catering or bar service, which means that you are forced to use theirs, which is incredibly good, but a bit pricey. If you are on a budget, it is probably best to pass this place by. Also, we planned a winter wedding, and it was pretty much impossible to book a Saturday night wedding in December because they have companies that hold their annual Christmas parties there every year. We decided to go ahead and do an afternoon wedding, which worked out well because the lunch menu is nearly half the price of the dinner menu, and it gave our guests the entire evening to explore all the Spokane had to offer. Having a winter wedding at the hotel was great because they decorate the hotel so elegantly, leaving little decorating that I had to provide, and the spaces are gorgeous, so you don't mind the fact that you are indoors. There are plenty of great photo opportunities throughout the hotel and the surrounding area. They give you and your guests 10% off rooms at the hotel the weekend of your wedding, making it really convenient for your guests if they decide to stay there because they won't have to drive to the ceremony or reception (and they don't have to drive home after the reception, should you choose to have an open bar). All and all an amazing experience that I will never forget. -

The Davenport Hotel is a GREAT location especially if you have out of town guests. You hardly have to do any decorating which is great. The food is fantastic and I highly recommend catering their buffet - the kitchen was cooperative with all requests. The wait staff working during the reception was fantastic - attentive and extremely friendly.
I would not recommend working with the in-house florist. I requested eucalyptus and greenery for my flowers and she later called them "cheap and tasteless". She even went on to insult the pictures in the brochure that The Davenport event sales manager provided us calling it "tacky and not my work". Hardly something I want to hear when I am paying a ridiculous amount for them. You can request to work with an external florist even though they say you have to work within house. I am so happy that I didn't have to work with someone who insults a client.
It was difficult to get requests fulfilled - such as wanting our buffet inside the same room as the reception instead of across the hallway into another room (We used the Marie Antoinette room for the reception). It was a battle from our wedding coordinator who would passive-aggressively retort comments. We only requested this because we spoke to 3 brides who said that having the food in a different room was annoying and made the room look very empty. Our wedding coordinator kept saying it would make the dance floor smaller, which turned out to be a perfect space even with the buffet tables inside the room.
Our wedding coordinator was also EXTREMELY rude to the groom's mother when she had done nothing offensive. Her personality just seemed to clash. Her tone was pretentious, judgemental, and uncooperative. We had to be flexible for HER even after countless discussions - absolutely ridiculous when we were paying upwards of $18,000. Her managers were very well aware of this friction and they still chose not to do anything about it. -

I felt that on the day of the event, I was told no a lot. I felt that the staff has a disconnect that you work really hard, spend a lot of money, and look forward to this one day for a long time. They cut a few of my guests off from alcohol, including one of my cousins that has never had a drop of alcohol in his life. He slipped on the stairs while wearing some dress shoes. The elevator attendant wouldn't let me up to my mom's room (where she was waiting for me to give me a gift) because I didn't have a room key. I was standing in my wedding dress... I wasn't allowed to take pictures in the Peacock Room though my photographer had made prior arrangements. All of the drinks that we had in between the ceremony and reception that my wedding party had in the Peacock Room, were charges to my room. I just felt very unappreciated by the staff on the day of. It really felt as if it was just another shift for them. Made me very sad. I addressed these issues with a few staff members after the wedding and was dismissed. -

We used the Davenport Florist for our wedding flowers. Unfortunately we did not have the best experience. We worked with Barbara who was not the most responsive person. We live in California and were planning our wedding from afar, and being able to only communicate via email and phone made it difficult to get responses from Barbara. After many attempts at trying to tell Barbara our vision (and budget) for our wedding flowers, I felt like she never really listened. Our flowers turned out beautiful, but they were not what I wanted. My bouquet was way too big (after telling her multiple times I wanted something small!) and she incorporated flowers I specifically requested not to include. I would not recommend the Davenport Florist for wedding flowers. -

Waste of money
Beautiful venue, horrible staff. They changed what we talked about and are horrible communicating and we spent half our reception chasing down the coordinator. HUGE waste of money. -

Brides and Grooms beware!
What can I say, for a once in a moment experience this venue and the coordinators were the worst.
To summarize they changed the coordinators twice before our wedding. Everything discussed prior in writing and phone conversations did come to be on our wedding day. All reservations, details with our photographer, loosing bridesmaids dresses, ruining the first look, ruining the grand entrance, serving kids meals to adults, letting random people get served at our open bar, letting random guest walk through our event, missing items and a staff that doesn’t take any responsibility or understands what true customer service is — this was a nightmare. High level things that are a huge red flag are the following:
—The coordinators were no where to be found throughout the night/day of our wedding. My bridesmaids had to keep calling them.
—Our wedding guest were served kids meals rather then the pre order platted meals. Even though we paid for the most expensive meals.
—The sales director is extremely condescending and didn’t take any responsibility. Honestly we should of be refunded for the whole event.
—To top it off the director of sales tried to frame me and my wedding party for a broken glass shelf in the bridal suite. Thank goodness I had a photo for when we originally tour the venue 9 months prior to prove the shelf was broken 9 months earlier and not from my bridal party. But it shows how this staff is completely immature and unprofessional.
I don’t know if it is because we were not from that area or not from Spokane. But it’s a shame with all the beauty and charm the Davenport has lack of management and internal organization leaves the worst taste from our wedding.
Brides and Grooms please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else for your special day. Let us please gift you with knowledge in this horrible management. I’d also be cautious that the good reviews are even real honestly we were scammed!

Tread Cautiously.
I was born and raised in the Spokane area, The Historic Davenport is where I always dreamed of having my wedding. So when my Fiance proposed and The Historic was within our budget I felt as though all my dreams were coming true. It breaks my heart to say that I hated my wedding, my husband and I both look back on the night and are not pleased with how the evening went. The entire process with the davenport was very difficult, there were several communication breakdowns between us and the event staff. I was constantly reaching out to them trying to get clarification only to be left more confused. When misinformation was provided rather than apologize for the confusion and clarify the information, I was told that it was my fault that I didn't understand. When my husband reached out to question what we were told in regards to payment and the breakdown of charges the rep argued with my husband and told us there is no way that anyone there would have ever given us that information. We ended up paying for our entire guest list to have salmon when only about 15% of them had ordered salmon, The rest of the guests had chicken, this was only the tip of the iceberg. We had both our ceremony and reception at The Davenport, the set up for the Ceremony was good and done per my request. However they didn't bother to turn on the air conditioning in the Elizabethan room, I got married in June, the room was so hot I was dripping sweat by the end of our ceremony. Then we went into our reception and the tables were not set as we had discussed, I said something and they rectified the situation. The rest of the issues throughout the evening were not rectified nor addressed after we brought them to the attention of the General Manager. Throughout the entire evening, our wedding coordinator was MIA until it was time to close up the venue. Our DJ didn't know what to do because the coordinator was not communicating with us or the other vendors. The worst part is when I got our photo booth pictures from that vendor there was several photos of the Davenport Staff in our photo booth, WHERE WERE YOU WHEN WE NEEDED SOME DIRECTION! The entire night was disorganized, even though we had countless meetings and phone calls with the event coordinators to work out a schedule and all the details. Guests were leaving because there was nothing happening, the DJ didn't know when to have us do our first dance, when we realized how late it was we went up to the DJ and asked him to start the first dance, I thought this is what the coordinator and all the planning was supposed to take care of. The entire evening was a mess. For over $20,000 we would have expected more. Very disappointed and would advise anyone thinking of booking with the davenport to tread cautiously -
