Great DJ and selection of music

Gil did our wedding and was excellent. We heard so many at our wedding talk about how great he was. They asked us where we found him. He played music that kept people of the dance floor even helping some to learn how to dance.

Unforgettable Evening

DJ Gil was top notch! We thought we had a difficult request blending two songs for our first dance but for DJ Gil it was no problem. The crowd couldn't stop complimenting him and the music, guests barely left the dance floor! We couldn't ask for better music and a better DJ. HIGHLY recommend.

Got married 04/23/22 at The Essex Steam Train and River Boat in Essex CT

DJ Gil and his wife Michelle are amazing entertainers! We had so much fun at our wedding. They were at a wedding in Philadelphia we attended and we said “we have to get them to do our wedding in Connecticut” They said yes with no hesitation. Very reasonably priced! Trust us it’s not a party without them. Very professional and knowledgeable!

I have known Gil for over 10 years and worked with him on Client Events where the guests loved him soooo much; he was booked for lots of other events Gil played at my wedding Saturday, 10/23 and everything was perfect!!! Flawless Experience

From start to finish, Gil made the experience so easy for us. The key with Gil vs other DJ's is that everything is so natural for him that there were things we did not even need to coordinate with him, that he made a stand to make sure would run smoothly such as getting the dance floor going, directing people for food, coordinating people when to toss roses at our "Send-Off", Everything was just flawless. The proof of his excellence when after your wedding one of the top statements we heard (besides complementing the bride and groom) was: "Where did you fund your DJ", Your "Dj was amazing". He helped a hot humid and rainy wedding day seem unnoticeable for us and our guests.

Amazing DJ and a great time.

Gill was a great DJ to work with, he was the DJ at a friend's wedding. We got his contact information from them and gave him a call. He met with us and listened to what were looking for on that day. We basically gave him a list of what songs to not play, any everything else was open. His dance lessons made all the difference for a first dance we both remember. Highly recommend to anyone looking for amazing DJ, which will make the night truly memorable.

Gil Keough - The Dancing DJ

I work in the hospitality industry and have worked with Gil for 10 years. He is our first choice for any event we have such as a Holiday Party, a grand opening for one of our hotels, a client event, our corporate conference, etc. He is so engaging and so fun to be around. You can tell he really loves what he does. When we have a client appreciation party, one of the first questions asked is will Gill be the DJ. In fact, one of our client's has actually hired Gil for one of their events because he is THAT GOOD!!

Best DJ hands down!!!!!

So Gil is amazing, he did my friends wedding a few years ago and I knew my next event I was going to have to hire him. We threw a surprise 20 year anniversary party this weekend and the level of energy he brings is exactly what you need to get the party going, they don't call him the dancing DJ for nothing. You will not be disappointed. Its the little details that counts too that made our day special. Lighting, speakers, microphones, and flexibility in taking special requests, he has it all. He can even sing, he does it all.

Just amazing!

We cannot say enough about Gil! If we could give him more stars we would. Gil has a contagious energy that made working with him so much fun. He was always smiling, responded to us quickly when we had questions, made last minute changes when we asked, and even helped out with our ceremony when we needed it. Our guests raved about the music, and really enjoyed him. I was extra impressed when he checked in with us during the night to make sure we were happy with how things were going. I feel so blessed that we found him, and wish we had another reason to use him again soon.

We love gil!

We found Gil though the recommendation of a friend and absolutely adored him! His energy and positivity are contagious, and he was truly a pleasure to work with from start to finish. I think the overwhelming number of five-star reviews say it all! He really listened to what we wanted and knew how to read the crowd. My biggest fear was having a cheesy DJ, but felt confident in Gil and his taste level from our very first interaction! His services were affordable and accommodating, I really can't say enough good things!

If you want your party to be remembered hire GIL!

Where to start with Gil. He has a HUGE personality. We hired him for our wedding because I went to another wedding, years ago, where he DJed and I never stopped dancing. Gil likes to meet with clients beforehand, which was great because he really got a sense for who we were and what we wanted. On the day of our wedding he started jamming outside before the ceremony. We could tell he loved what he was doing. He played all the requested ceremony music seamlessly. The reception was bananas! He was dancing and so was everyone else. We had MULTIPLE couples tell us how awesome our DJ was and some friends are even using him for their upcoming wedding. We cannot wait to attend that wedding to dance again!

Gil is THE BEST! Gil was referred to us by one of our groomsmen and we were so glad, happy and thankful that we booked him. Everyone is still talking about our wedding and Gils name never fails to be part of the conversation! Every single person including the photographer and waiters were dancing! Gil was great from start to finish and had positive energy from our first meeting. Many guests commented on how much they enjoyed the music and Gil’s enthusiasm. He was dancing, singing, and engaging the crowd, but he was never overbearing. I think there was even a dance-off with my 7 year old niece; it was too close to pick a winner. We had a proper dance party from start to finish, which is exactly what we wanted. Also, Gil was extremely accomodating during the entire process. Our to-do list piled up near the end, and consequently, we gave him our song selection pretty close to the actual wedding date. We also had a few last minute changes on game day: extra microphone here, moderately altered introduction there, hastily organized karaoke performance for my wife. They all went off without a hitch. Finally, Gil helped me secretly organize my performance of Roy Orbison”s “You Got It” and made sure the background singers could be heard.. She was thrilled. I got major bonus points. We couldn’t be happier.

I don't think I could possibly say enough positive things about Gil. I'll start by saying that I did NOT make his job easy. My wife jokingly referred to me as a Groomzilla (that's not a real thing) because I was quite involved in the wedding planning. Music is my passion so Gil has his work cut out for him. At a wedding the most important thing to me (besides love and family, etc.) is good music and a lot of people dancing. I gave Gil a number of special dedications, song interruptions, very obscure songs, and a list of songs to play that he could not possibly get to in the time allotted for the reception.

Gil delivered. Every quirky thing I asked for (play this, stop this, skip this, say this, mix to this song, etc.) he pulled off impeccably. He mixed through songs to get to as many of the ones I had listed as possible. He had people on the dance floor THE ENTIRE NIGHT. My wedding was weeks ago and people are still talking to me about Gil. Here's why: when you hire Gil, you're not hiring a guy to play music. He has dancing skills second to none, charisma in abundance, and the energy of a five year old on a sugar rush. Gil doesn't play music to get people on the dance floor. Gil puts on a song, gets on the dance floor, and drags people out to dance with him. He shows guests how to dance. He gives them a mic and lets them sing along. Gil isn't only a DJ, he is an entertainer and if you ask him to be, he will be the highlight of your wedding.

On a more serious note, we priced several DJ's and Gil was the most reasonable. We told him our budget and he worked with us on times and such to make it work. But what we got that night was a DJ worth twice as much as we paid, if not more.

At the end of the evening, several of my friends who are engaged as well as the manager of the venue asked for Gil's information because he made a lasting impression. This review hardly does him justice, you need to see him for yourself. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

DJ Gil! Where to begin?! Our wedding was on 5/12/18 - a month ago today and every person we have seen or spoke to since our wedding absolutely raved about Gil! He made the atmosphere so fun for all ages and got the party started for everyone. Our friends and family who claim they don't dance, were dancing and having a great time! Not only did Gil put on a WONDERFUL performance for our wedding but he was also so genuine and caring through the entire wedding planning process. From the first meeting with him, where he met us face to face, we instantly clicked. He took the time to get to know us, our story, to understand us and cater to our day. We didn't look anywhere else for our music entertainment. I recommend DJ Gil to anybody and everybody! ALSO - not only does he spin the perfect beats but he also offers awesome dance lessons for the first dance. My husband and I met with him weekly and he eased us into the dance moves. He was so patient with us and it was SO FUN! I truly miss our Monday nights with Gil. We killed the dance floor the night of our wedding during our first dance and I know we wowed a lot of people. We will know those dance moves forever. Oh how could I forget, he was very very patient and accommodating to last minute changes. Who wants to deal with that when putting on a show for 175 people? Gil didn't mind a bit, it was all about us - he was so easy going.
We can't thank you enough, DJ Gil!! You made our wedding day absolutely amazing and so so memorable.
If you don't have Gil at your wedding you are TRULY missing out!!

Gil is an AMAZING DJ. We have hired him for 3 of our family weddings, and would not dream of hiring anyone else. He is so full of energy, always has a good playlist, and keeps the crowd on the dance floor all night. WOW! What an amazing man! Gil is so professional and fun! He plays exactly what you talked about and gives suggestions if you need them. From the second we met with Gil, my husband and I knew he was exactly what we were looking for! We met with a lot of dj's before him and could not find that spark we needed to celebrate our over the top new years eve wedding, until we saw DJ Gil at another wedding, we knew he was what we needed to make our day great. Gil understood our vision and delivered perfectly! Every single question answered right away even adding his own creative ways to make it more fun! Every idea we had he brought each of them to life more then we could have expected. Our guest did not leave the dance floor the entire night, and we know that was all because of Gil!
During the planning process, every time we wanted to meet in person, not a problem at all he would be there, need songs mixed for your entrance? He does that incredibly too! He will take care of everything, our lighting and monograms he did were fabulous!!! He will blow you away!
At one point there was a misunderstanding and our videographer was not in the room during our mother & groom dance, Gil noticed the panic in my face and pulled out his own personal cell phone to capture it for us!! He ended up sending it to our videographer and it is in our final video and you can not even tell it was missed, all because of Gil! We had a dvd play during our father daughter dance, Gil took care of all of it! Got us the projector, even let me send him the DVD in advance to make sure it worked perfectly!

Gil loves what he does and i promise you it shows in his work, even now almost 3 months later we still are having guest tell us what an amazing time they had! Look no further you found your wedding DJ right here !! Gil, we can not thank you enough!! Joe & Nina

Gil is an enormous entertainer. He is a big guy with a huge personality. We wanted a DJ that would do what we wanted, help us where we needed, be high energy, fun and keep the party going. Gil delivered on every aspect. We interviewed MANY DJs as music and dancing was extremely important to us on so many levels and NO ONE even came close to the genuine understanding of what we wanted our wedding and reception to convey. Gil is just amazing to work with! He was the DJ at both of our daughters' weddings and he'll be doing my nephew's wedding this spring! He's become part of the family and we all agree he's just the BEST! He's offically our family's DJ. :)

The DJ can make or break the reception - especially the dancing part - and that's where Gil shines. The dance floor was always packed and everyone had such a wonderful time! Gil gets right out there and dances with the group which just energizes the croud. He's friendly, enthusiastic, flexible, and full of fun energy. He reviews everything with you ahead of time, shows up early, makes sure he knows how to pronounce all the names, and then makes the whole evening run like clock-work. Can't say enough. When I was planning our wedding, the main item I was worried about was finding the perfect DJ that would have all 185 guests dancing all night long! Then, following a few less than stellar calls with other DJs, we found Gil :) After reading his reviews I knew that he was the DJ we'd been looking for and lucky for us he was available on Dec 2nd 2017! All the reviews about Gil are spot on! Not only did he go above and beyond meeting with us before the wedding to make sure to give musical advice as well as understand what we were looking for, but during the wedding he had everyone on the dance floor all night long, which is exactly what we wanted! Gil's extreme energy and exceptional personality make him a one of a kind DJ, and I can't imagine our wedding without him. Everyone was on the dance floor from the second the dance music started until the very end, and one week later I still have family and friends messaging me, raving about Gil and how amazing he was!

If I could, I would give Gil 10/5 stars. What an amazing person overall! He was responsive and made sure my husband and I got everything we could possibly want from our wedding day. We got compliments all night and since then about Gil. He was so well liked my MOH is using him for her wedding AND my mother-in-law took his cards to give out. BEST DJ IN THE ENTIRE TRI-STATE AREA, hands down.

Gill was awesome to work with. He played the exact music that we discussed previous to the wedding and he helped me come up with certain songs during the ceremony that I was unsure of. After my wedding i had so many compliments on the dj even my boss loved him. I would definitely recommend.

If you want your guests up and dancing all night long, Gil is the DJ for you! If you're looking for a fun, party atmosphere, Gil is the DJ for you!! Gil was very energetic from the get-go and kept everyone on the dance floor. My guest said that the DJ was awesome and loved the energy he brought. Gil also provided the sound for the ceremony (also at Meredith Manor) and the music for the cocktail hour. Gil has DJ'd many weddings at Meredith Manor, so it was great to have a vendor there who knew the venue! Gil was also very accommodating when we had a little snafu with one of the payments. He was very willing to work with us and we got it all sorted out. Overall, I recommend Gil as a DJ if you're looking to have a hell of a good time at your wedding!

DJ Gil was AMAZING. He was full of energy and excitement about our day from the first conversation. He really paid attention to what we wanted and made sure that's what we got. He said we were going to have "the best party of the year" and we did. HE ROCKED IT!!!!! From dacing with the kids to feeling like we gained an extremely fun family member. DJ Gil is extremely highly recommended for any occasion in need of a DJ from us!!!!!!!

Gil was so much fun at our wedding! We wanted nothing but a fun, upbeat party and he made sure it happened. DJ's are the life of the party after all, so our main concern was finding someone fun! Our guests had a great time dancing all night and singing along. It was even more fun when he sang and danced with us.
In addition to his DJ services, my dad and I took swing dance lessons from Gil for our Father-Daughter dance. Having NO dance experience at all, Gil taught us to swing in a few short weeks. He is the nicest person and treats you like family so you never feel embarrassed for not knowing how to dance! Plus you'll be a pro in no time, I highly recommend.

Gil was amazing to work with and understood our vision when it came to setting the tone of our wedding. Our wedding was very small, only under 30 people which made us worry if it would seem to small of a party, but with thE right mix Gil provided as well as him amping up our guests, everyone, including my husband and I couldn't stop dancing. Gil was so intuitive and honestly took such good care of us, if I ever need a DJ for another event or if one of guest needed one, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Simply perfect!

Gil was absolutely fantastic at every step of the process for our wedding. He made sure to set up multiple meetings to ensure he covered off on anything we needed. We gave him a list of music we wanted as part of the ceremony, cocktail/dinner hour, and reception and he played almost every song (and respected our do not play list). This might seem like it's not a big deal, but when the bride/groom from the last three weddings you've been to are upset because the DJ ignored their wishes, this was a big deal!

On our wedding day he was amazing, all anyone could talk about the week after our wedding was how awesome our DJ was. He was high energy and kept the crowd engaged. I don't think I saw the dance floor empty all night. He even accommodated our request to stay an extra hour to keep the party going!

I can't recommend Gil enough, it was an honor to have him as part of our big day!!

I saw Gil at a bridal show performing. He was so charismatic and personable with the staff as well as the customers who were there. I decided to play one of the games, and I won a deal with Gil. I sent the information to my now husband and they set up the meeting. Imagine how I felt when I received a call from him and he told me that he just had a meeting with Gil, and that he was going to be our Dj. I knew my future husband was in good hands with Gil. Wedding day, he made our wedding feel like we all were at a concert. He worked very hard to make sure everyone was entertained. The music selection was perfect, and it appealed to every generation in the building. The dance floor stayed packed the whole day, This was truly a wonderful experience for us and we have Gil to thank for it.

What can I say that may not have already been said..... Well, I will say this: having a background in sales makes me a very difficult customer because I like to test the temperament of the person I am talking to in order to make sure I am not getting into something that doesn't benefit me. I sent an email blast to a few places, and Gil called me about 10 minutes later. We set up the meeting.... and he thought I was a Dj. It was the best opening conversation I had. From there, I called the wife, explained that I had a great meeting... she knew who he was from the Bridal Show..... I knew if he impressed her on one meet, then it was going to be on. Gil was very professional, prompt, and patient with us while we went through the process of choosing music, creating the timeline of events, and meeting at the venue to discuss setup locations and how things will transition from one place to the other. Up to Wedding day, Gil made sure that we had our check list done, and even made recommendations that he thought we would like, which we definitely took advantage of. On the Wedding day, Gil was at the venue about 2 hours ahead of schedule to set up his equipment. We had a good talk, and he said "Watch me work". Gil did exactly everything he said he would do, from the dancing with the guests, to singing along with the music, Gil provided unparalleled service and delivered a performance that was better than most concerts I have attended. Gil made our wedding day such an event, I wanna get married again, just so I can experience it again. Other than my wife in the dress, Gil made the wedding day everything we wanted it to be. Thank you Gil, for everything you have done. We are very grateful for what you did.

What a blast!! Gil has such an awesome spirit, and EVERYONE raved about his service (my grandma won't stop talking about how much fun he was)! Gil is incredible. I don't feel like I only hired a DJ for my wedding, I feel like we truly made a friend. I found DJ Gil through the open house at our venue and was immediately drawn to his high energy, fun loving personality. I knew instantly that we would hire him! He graciously met my husband and I to get to know us better, and to talk with us about his style and what he offers. We had more contact leading up to the wedding- he genuinely cares about creating a relationship with you. My grandmother passed 5 days before our wedding, and I sort of "dropped the ball" with giving him all the info he needed...but he truly came to the rescue and so much more. He made our wedding THE absolute best day of our lives. He can get ANYONE to dance and have an AMAZING time! I could not have imagined a better day. He will absolutely make your wedding the best day ever, and your guests will have the time of their lives. Most importantly, he listens to what you want...he will make your day exactly how you envision it, and so much more! He will grant any and all requests you make and will actively engage your guests. I have nothing but incredible things to say about him. Just make sure that after your wedding you're ready to give him email address/phone number to all your guests- because they will want to hire him too!

DJ Gil helped put on such a wonderful day. From Day 1 of his involvement, Gil has been invaluable to our wedding experience. He invests himself fully to make sure your day is what you want.

Our reception blended high tradition and superhero entertainment. It was the easiest thing in the world to partner up with Gil and come up with creative ideas and a fantastic A/V solution to cover our needs. He understood, and enjoyed, the nuance we were aiming for and hit it perfectly.

Gil also opened up the opportunity for us to take dance lessons. It was an extra side cost, but worth every penny and more. I went from having two left feet to being able to dance across the floor with my bride in just a few weeks. We learned how to partner dance and without having to study a routine. I'd have never thought it possible.

Thank you, Gil. You rode shotgun on the best day of our lives (so far).

My husband and I were looking for someone who would be extremely upbeat, life of the party, and who knows how to get the party started! If you are looking for the same things, you need to hire the Dancing DJ! Not only did he get everyone on their feet but he truly worked up a sweat during our reception because he was dancing too! For months after the wedding, all my guests were raving about him and how he made our wedding so unique. Not to mention he is super flexible and will do whatever you say - last minute before I walked down the aisle, I asked him if he could switch the song that was going to be played while I walked down the aisle and he totally knew what I meant and switched it for me - talk about professional! Not only did he throw a crazy party, but he also played a couple of songs for the older folks. If you want to have an unforgettable wedding, DJ Gil will go above & beyond!
P.S - I'm a musician myself and I wouldn't say these things unless they were true!
P.P.S - He is bilingual, and my in-laws are Spanish so he catered to both sides of the family!

Gil was a rockin' DJ and helped make our wedding day extra special. What makes Gill such a unique DJ is his approach to the whole event. First he takes the time to get to know his clients, what their interests are, what makes them tick etc. and then he thinks long and hard about how he can tailor his contribution to make it extra special for the bride and groom. Gill goes far beyond the call of duty for his clients. For example I am Scottish and my wife is American. As I was getting married in a kilt, my national dress, and many of my guests were too, Gill also turned up to our wedding in full highland dress, looking amazing and even gifting me a Sgian Dubh (traditional dagger) to wear on my wedding day. (I've even heard of Gill dressing up as Darth Vadar to give one Star Wars fanatical bride a imperial guard of honour - it's maybe not to everyone's tastes but it just proves how far Gill will go to make your day personal and unforgettable.)
As the Dancing DJ, Gill has a hands on approach to getting your guests up and dancing. As the name suggests he gets out there on the dance floor and encourages all to get on up and have a good time.
If you want your guests to have a good time hire this guy!!! Last thing to mention but certainly not least is that Gill is a warm and friendly big fella and will always greet you with a smile.

Gill did an excellent job at our wedding. All of our guests commented on how good he was and how hard he worked to keep the reception exciting. He played everything from our playlist and kept everyone on their feet.

DJ "Big Love" Gil was amazing! From the very first time I met him until the reception, he had this high level of energy that is incomparable. We walked through each portion of the reception to ensure everything was clear, which was great because he brought up things I did not even think of yet. Since he has been in the business for so long, he was able to recommend other vendors for photography, videography, etc. Also, the communication with Big Love was very good - he returned calls/emails within 24 hrs. At the reception, he really did keep everyone on their feet the whole time! I received sooo many compliments on how fun the reception was and how they love the Dancing DJ. I knew it was going to be good...I told everyone how awesome you were going to be, but I could not have predicted how epic that reception was. I'm sure that all of your receptions are like that because of how talented you are, but I want you to know that you went above and beyond because my family is not easy! I have never seen my parents up and dancing for that long. They always dance for a few songs, but I did not expect them to be out on the floor the entire time. That's huge!!! I am the mother of the bride writing this review. I told Gil when I met him that I don't give out 5 ratings very easily. But I am giving Gil a 5. I was reluctant to hire a dancing DJ because all the pictures I saw of him on his website, he's in the pictures! This led me to believe that he would be a little "to much" and take all the attention. I was completely wrong. He knows how much he needs to do to keep the party going and then he backs off. Our guest all liked him and thought he was a lot of fun and I agree with them. I did like the fact that the reviews I saw all said he was fun. Those reviews are all correct. He is not only fun but friendly and professional. Our guest danced all night. They were an eager young crowd itching to dance but there were others that told me not to be offended if they didn't dance because "they don't dance" at weddings. Well they were all dancing. Gil also did the music for the ceremony and came through with all the songs we wanted and played them timely during the ceremony. We needed the processional song "looped" and he made that happened. Thanks Gil. You were a joy to work with and deserve the 5.

We were completely blown away by DJ Gil. We selected Gil because he came highly recommended to us by friends, and it was easy to see why. Gil ran the show from beginning to end. Everyone was on the dance floor the entire night. People of all ages from our 5 year-old flower girl to my 85 year-old grandfather danced the night away. All of our guests told us this was the best DJ they had ever experienced and I'm certain Gil ran out of business cards that night. We had some unexpected changes to our wedding, but Gil was able to quickly adapt so that our guests didn't notice any issues. He was fun, charming, witty and professional. He got everyone involved from the beginning and was even on the dance floor with us most the night. I would highly recommend Gil, without hesitation, to anyone looking for a sure way to have the best night of their lives. It's cliche to say your wedding day is the best day of your life, but in this case, it truly was, and we will remember Gil for the rest of our lives.

A guest at our wedding summed it up when he said " here is someone who enjoys what he does." I think that captures DJ Gil perfectly. There are plenty of Djs out there, but only someone like Gil got everything one could wish to have in a DJ, energetic, fun, experienced, well equipped with gadgets, great social skills, gets everyone on the dance floor, can get down on the dance floor and show them how it's done, works with people's budget, and simply puts the bride and groom first. A good DJ makes or breaks a wedding. I am so glad we got to enjoy his excellent DJ'ing skills at our wedding. It made our big day an event we will never forget. In fact, we have a few friends who loved him so much they're also using him for their weddings too! I absolutely recommend DJ Gil to any bride who wants the dance floor to be jam packed all nigh long!!

Gil the Dancing DJ is amazing. He had 45 thirteen year olds dancing the entire 4 hours at my daughters bat mitzvah. He was out dancing as much as the kids were. They loved him! I would highly reccomend him and will definitely use him in the future!

As the mother of the bride yo can imagine how many things i had on my mind. The one thing i did not have to worry about was the music and announcements . He is a fabulous Master of ceremonies. I knew Gil would be on point and he was. From the very beginning of the process to the very end. He knows what he is doing and he he does it well. The music was fun, appropriate and motivating as was he. Our dance floor was packed from the moment the reception started to the very end. Let me put it simply: DJ Gil was by far the GREATEST DJ any of us have ever known! He absolutely killed it and exceeded every expectation my wife and I had for a wedding DJ—in music selection, general MCing, and, of course, the dancing! The thoroughness and perfection of Gil's Thriller dance will forever live in our family's lore.

Not only did Gil bring a wealth of energy, professionalism, and style to the event, but he was also a pleasure to work with. His love and passion for performing—and his endless desire to see people having a good time—translated into a truly remarkable performance. And he is now a veritable super star amongst our friends and family. I cannot even count the number of people who sung his praises at the wedding...and are STILL singing his praises to this day. I am not one to shell out hollow praise, so believe me when I tell you that I am not exaggerating here. My wife and I have had the opportunity to catch up with many friends since the wedding, and without fail, EVERY conversation about the reception at some point leads to a discussion of how absolutely amazing Gil was as a DJ. In fact, here's a verbatim text one of my groomsmen sent just the other day:

"Dude, I was in the O.R. today when Gangster's Paradise came on and all I could think about was DJ Gil. That guy was amazing!!!!"

That's been the basic gist of everyone's praise. So, it is with much sincerity that my wife and I heartily recommend DJ Gil for whatever event you have planned. When we first met Gil for our consultation, he mentioned that a DJ is one of the critical investment decisions that can make or break your wedding: nothing could be more true, and Gil absolutely made our wedding reception. He has a fun, outgoing personality, and places the bride and groom's wishes first. He believes in taking requests to accommodate your guests as well. His pricing is more than reasonable (he amplified our harpist for the ceremony, and provided gorgeous uplighting and DJ services for our reception). Sound quality was great for everything, he verified the order of events and bridal party name pronunciations, and accommodates special requests you may have (in our case, dances for my grandparents). The flow of the music energy went seamlessly all night, not to mention he can sing and dance with the best of them, which means no worries about getting guests up and partying. Our guests raved about him and what a fun reception we had. My husband and I literally never stopped dancing for our entire reception after dinner, and the memories we have are priceless.

Gil was amazing!! He went above and beyond not only helping keep the timing of the reception, but keeping everyone on the dance floor so long, many forgot their shuttle back to the hotel!! Gil knew how to keep the crowd on the dance floor all night long, even people who haven't danced since the 80's... I had the time of my life and I have no doubt that it's because DJ Gil is an amazing entertainer.

Looking for a DJ that can really get people dippin' and dancin'? Look no further. The crowd at my wedding was a solid mix of people from the West Indies and New England. Gil was able to read the flow and mix two completely different musical styles together. What happened next was awesome; dance moves were shared, good times were had and the people were blended and mixed as well as the music was. In addition, Gil has the experience to handle, help, and boost your confidence and spirit at every step of the wedding process. My husband, my father-in-law, and many of their family friends had careers as DJs on Long Island at one time, so when it came time to hire a DJ for my wedding I was super worried. Hiring The Dancing DJ was a no-brainer! I had been to a wedding he DJ'd at a few years ago and remembered how much fun everyone had. The event we contracted Gil for was a Relay for Life event. This event is to help raise money for cancer research and to aid those suffering with the dreaded disease. Gil was Fantastic!! He not only performed the entire 12 hours he was contracting for but also helped with other activities going on while performing his own responsibilities. Gil has the utmost professionalism with very high energy. He can get the most stubborn, I don't dance, person to get upon the dance floor and shake their booty. He is great with handling last minute changes and the 2 man crew he brought with him was there to help at a moments notice. His collection of music would satisfy any age and is not the typical wedding music type arrangement. You can tell him what kind of music you want to hear and that's what he'll play. He had to fill 12 hours with music and never once repeated a song. Well except for the annoying song activity where he had to play an annoying song until $250 was raised. He even made that fun.
I would recommend Gil for any type of DJing. He knows how to keep the party going and is very high energy. Thank you Gil for all you have done for us and I look forward to next year.

The Dancing DJ (Gil) and his team were AMAZING!!! We received sooo many compliments from our guests after the wedding about him and the entertainment. We don't know how he is so energetic and happy but it is awesome. The Dancing DJ did more than just play songs. He brought out the energy and ensured everyone was dancing and having tons of fun!! Our expectations were surpassed and they made our wedding so memorable. We have seen a lot of DJs and no one that we have seen before was as unique and special. Gil was amazing at my daughter's wedding this past weekend!! He did the music from the beginning of the ceremony to the end of the night without a flaw! The music during dinner was perfect! Had the crowd going nonstop from young and old. Got out there with everyone to take them through some dance moves. He's great at blending all types of music through the evening so not one person could say there was nothing they could dance to. Oldies, pop, Motown, rock....whatever you want, he's the best!!!

OMG AWESOME!!!! Gil is absolutely WONDERFUL. Did everything we asked him without question. He has an awesome array of music (even the theme to the Peanuts!!!). I think the best way to describe how DJ Gil delivered everything he promised and that all reviews on this site are in fact DEAD ON - is to provide some examples and quotes from my big day:

1.) Dinner was announced twice - YES TWICE - and people would still NOT leave the dance floor. Indicator number 1 the party was kicking from the beginning. Consider counting fewer heads if you book DJ Gil b/c people will choose dancing over food...

2.) He somehow managed to WALTZ with my redneck-wanna be sister after she exchanged her strappy MOH shoes for cowboy boots. May need to know my sis to grasp the depth of this, but trust me - this is big time. So not only does Gil breakdance, he will also Waltz.

3.) The waitresses were WOBBLING with the videographer - and of course Gil was showing everyone how to do it properly. Enough said with that one.

4.) NO ONE ATE CAKE. Which normally happens at weddings - but I DIDN'T EAT CAKE - and I LOVE CAKE. I also neglected ice cream, which is also embarrassing to admit....

5.) The 'people not wanting to leave the dance floor' theme continued until the end of the night. Once the music was cut the guests changed "ONE MORE SONG" for a solid minute before we got the OK from the reception staff.

6.) People still would not leave the floor after the second last song played and the chairs and table cloths were being cleaned up.

7.) No one in the wedding party had a voice left by the end of the night.

What did I hear from my guests to know Gil helped me throw a fabulous party?!
"No one danced at my wedding and no one will stop dancing at yours!"
"I have never been to a wedding where everyone danced like this"
"Can you believe _____ was on the dance floor?!" (I could fill in the blank with probably 15 names)
"I have never danced like that before in my LIFE"

The easiest decision we made planning our wedding was hiring Gil! The first time we heard Gil was at our friend's wedding 2 years ago. It had been the most fun we had ever had at a wedding just because of the vibe on the dance floor and the great songs that were played. When we got engaged, there was no question that we needed him to be our DJ. Gil was so easy to work with and he is just a natural entertainer. Gil was an awesome DJ! He was organized and thorough with the pre-wedding preparations. His ability to read a crowd and pump up the music was impressive. The Dancing DJ is simply the best! I cannot thank Gil, The Dancing DJ enough for how wonderful he made our wedding. Gil provided music for prior to our ceremony, the entrances for our ceremony, as well as cocktail hour, dinner, and reception music. I never knew how closely I would be working with our DJ until a few weeks before the wedding date. About a week before our wedding Gil came to our venue to go over the layout and timeline of the eveneing with myself and our wedding coordinator. Putting my mind at rest is an understatement!

Gil is the epitome of prefessional, however that word is so "boring". Gil is anything but boring. Every Bride and Groom should have the experience that my husband and I had on our wedding day. We couldn't have been happier with his services to us. He is now the #1 recommended DJ at our venue, friends have asked for his card and information, others had wished they booked him for their past weddings, and he will DJ every event I plan in the future.

There are no words to describe what DJ Gil provided our wedding. I never seen so many people dance at a wedding in my life. He was engaging, energetic, and just had a blast in all he did. Made us feel comfortable the whole time!! Music was the hottest mixes of music but so tasteful for our wedding . The rating scales doesn't go high enough for DJ Gil. We want to have Gil do all our parties, small or big, his personalty just shines is so priceless when looking for a DJ. We truly feel that DJ title does him no justice, DJ Gil is an entertainer. Hands down best DJ ever . He DJs, he dances great but he entertains everyone. When you meet him you will have no hesitations on he will be the man to do your event.

I brought my seniors to Mt. Haven for the first time and The Dancing DJ was there.What a show. Gil or Gilberto was excellent . He interacts with the seniors. He sang , danced with us and taught new dances they do at weddings today. We enjoyed him so much I told them I wanted to book already for next year. Gil is very personablle and also professional. Gil Keough has been our DJ twice, for our daughter's bat mitzvah and our son's bar mitzvah. He is very courteous, professional, and interested in ensuring that the guests of honor especially, but also all attending have a great time. Gil is a great dancer as well as DJ and announcer, so if you'd like your wedding or other party guests to learn a new dance or have more fun rocking out on the dance floor, he will definitely make it happen. Because he really listens to his customers and their requirements, I would recommend him for any event.

Best DJ ever!! High energy, Super accommodating and made sure EVERYONE had fun! The "Dancing DJ, GIL" had prior obligations, so he had DJ Matt step in. Gil couldn't resist the opportunity to dance, so he came shortly after my wedding started to dance the night away with all of us...they BOTH were great! I would never hire another DJ.

This is the second time we have used Gil as a DJ for a Bar/Bat Mitzvah and he is AWESOME! If you want to make sure that your guests have a great time, may sure you hire Gil.

At my last affair, my photographer ended up hiring Gil for a bachelorette party and then the bride ended up using him as well.

Gil was incredible!!! There aren't even enough outstanding words in the dictionary to explain how phenomenal he was. We absolutely love him and love his work!!!!!

From the start, Gil was on his game. He sent us his information in the mail and sent us emails a day after I contacted him. We had several contacts through phone and email and he met us close to our house for a meeting to see what we wanted and to explain what he offered. He was in constant contact with us up until the very day of the reception to clarify things, ask questions, make sure he knew what we wanted, and to even get proper pronunciations of the people’s names he was announcing. We had a destination wedding in Jamaica and a PA reception in Conshohocken. Gil knew all of this and worked with us every step of the way.

Gil contacted our caterer and the guy who we were renting our hall from well in advance to our reception date. He wanted to iron out details and ask any questions he had. That impressed me and I was very happy with that. It showed that he was reaching out to make sure all his bases were covered. Our caterer and Gil worked together at the reception so they were both aware of the timeline of each event that was taking place throughout the night. Which he consistently came over to my husband and I to give us a heads up when things were coming and to make sure we wanted it that way and that we were ready.

Gil showed up early to set up and his set up looked awesome. He was dressed so handsome and appropriate for the wedding reception. He played everything we asked him to, along with so much more. He also stuck to our 'do not play' list and did not play songs we did not want played. My husband's uncle brought a Jamaican flag with him and since we got married there, Gil hung it on his DJ table which was great & went well with our theme. He played some Bob Marley and island themed music, which we didn't ask him to do, but he did it on his own and it gave it a real nice touch and gave the reception a nice feel. It was great he listened to us and knew exactly what we wanted. 
He was always making sure everything was going according to plan and got involved. He is not only a DJ; he is an incredible dancer and an entertainer. His title suits him well. He had the crowd going, dancing, smiling and having fun. He even had people dancing that do not like too, as well at my 87 year old aunt which was impressive. It was hard not to dance with Gil as the entertainer. He did a wonderful job and is so talented at what he does. HIRE HIM! You won’t regret it I promise.

Our wedding was on September 17, 2011. I spoke with Gil about a week before. As Gil can attest to, I was a little hesitant about a dacing DJ. I have been to weddings where the DJ can make himself the center of attention. I explained this to Gil and he stated not to worry. I gave Gil the benefit of the doubt and am so glad I did. I had the best time. My family and friends stated they had a blast and I always felt that dancing at weddings is 90% of the fun. Gil actually did dance a bit but I didn't even know he was on the dance floor. At one point he played Man in the Mirror ( a favorite of mine) and he was going crazy behind the dj booth which I felt got my friends even more pumped. I wouldn't change anything about my wedding it was perfect. Thanks Gil we really appreciate it.

I have been in the entertainment nearly 40 [gasp] years and every once in a great while, something surprises me. I was attending a function in the Poconos July 2011 - a Spanish Theme - and wasn't expecting much.

What I got however was the single most high energy, charismatic, audience friendly, talented, unforgettable DJ I have ever seen. Once again, let me put this in perspective: nearly 40 years!!!! And am a professional entertainer!!!!

You know folks, it just doesn't get any better than Gil Keo. He sings, dances, chats, teaches [all bi-lingual] and carouses in the best possible way - to qualify as a family entertainer. And infectious? They wouldn't let him stop! Even when the gig was over [and I saw management indicate this], the dance floor was packed. Not just with screaming kids. As a matter of fact, there wasn't a person under the age of 21 in the room. From about 30-80 years old, even an old man with a cane and an elderly woman with a walker, was dancing to and with the dancing DJ.

He was out there with them, teaching and dancing like there was no tomorrow. You cannot ask for more than that from any entertainer. If you are looking for a DJ who is an ENTERTAINER, pleas call Gil Keo. You simply will not regret it.

I would recommend anyone use DJ Gil Keough for a wedding if you want to have your guests dancing through the night. The majority of our guests danced most of the night. Our guests ranged in age from early twenties to early seventies. He played great music and everyone had a good time. He made our wedding one of the best weddings we have attended in years. His personality definitely added to the party atmosphere and encouraged people to dance. He danced with guests to encourage them to dance. He also taught people the moves for a few songs. Our wedding was near Halloween and “Thriller” was played around the end of the evening. He taught everyone the moves to this song as the song was playing. Everyone seemed to enjoy doing the “Thriller” moves.

Gil’s friendliness and warmth also made him easy to work with. He asked us our goals for the reception and made us feel confident they would be achieved. He was easy to get in touch with and was open to different ideas. He was also on time, professional and open to taking our guests’ requests.

We are glad he was our DJ. He made our reception fun, memorable and one of the best days of our lives.

Gil was a blast to work with! Leading up to the wedding he would check in to see if we had any questions and to go over any specific requests we had for our play list - he was very accommodating and put us at ease.

He is a very energetic person and you can tell that he's genuinely excited to be involved in making the day memorable for everyone.

Some people didn't even finish dinner before they were on the dance floor, and once they were dancing they didn't stop! The music was great and Gil did a great job of keeping the energy up. He even turned the mic over to my husband so that he could sing along with his favorite Bryan Adams song!

Overall, Gil was great to work. We were so happy with the service he provided.

Attention future Brides & Grooms: You can finally stop searching for a DJ! Gil Keough is the end all and be all of DJ's and MC's! Let me just tell you Gil went WAY above and beyond in delivering and making good on everything he said he would! He far exceeded our expectations!!! We were in need of a bilingual DJ for our reception and were a little nervous about doing all the introductions and announcements in both English and Spanish for fear of it becoming drawn out. Also, we wanted to have a wide variety of both Latin and American music. Gil did an absolutely amazing job literally from start to finish! He started our reception by getting all of our family and friends very excited and "hyped" up with a very high energy level and this same excitement and involvement lasted the ENTIRE night! The introductions were alot of fun. I have no idea what he said for the Spanish version; however, everyone was smiling and laughing. The music was incredible! We are STILL getting compliments. Our dance floor was always filled even with people I never expected would participate. Gil is such a graceful and talented dancer. The mothers thoroughly enjoyed dancing with Gil especially to the Latin music. Gil was able to even get the grooms Father to do a Michael Jackson dance. We can't wait to see our reception video! We are so happy we went with the "Dancing DJ"! He was full of energy and definitely kept the party going until the end. We loved his dance moves and how he taught us a new dance besides the everyday electric slide. He also had some amazing advice which helped us tremendously. Gil made our wedding reception a blast with a great playlist, attitude and dance moves without trying to be the the center of attention. He knew the exact times to step in and show off his moves, and when to let us do our thing and play the music. He had a great enthusiasm for his work which was contagious throughout the night.

He was always responsive throughout the booking process and flexible with some last minute playlist changes. I would most definitely recommend booking him for your next event. A DJ can make or break a party, and he most definitely made ours the best night of our lives and many guests said it was the best and most fun reception they've ever been to!

All I can say about Gil is that he is AWESOME! If you want a DJ that is going to get people out of their seats and dancing - he is the man. Gil dj'd our wedding and everyone kept asking "who is that dj" "where did you find him"? everyone loved him because he doesn't just sit behind the turn table, he actually gets out there on the dance floor with you. and with his fantastic personality and skills, he gave us an event we will remember forever. i will never use any other dj ever in my life, nor will my family or friends if i have something to say about. he is that special to us. you will not regret hiring the dancing dj. thanks again for making our day so special, amy and i love ya!
