The Cotton Market was the only choice for us when setting our venue. It was located in Richland area and made it convenient for us and all of guest coming in from out of town, since they were all staying in Richland. Everyone that we dealt with was very friendly and offering to help any way they could. The only complaint that we had was it was dirty upon arriving. So there was some cleaning that had to be done in order to start start decorating for the wedding. All in all I would highly recommend this venue. The Cotton Market was the only choice for us when setting our venue. We only had a few hiccups on the wedding day...the plumbing and heat went out but they were quick to get them fixed before the guests arrived! This venue is great for the DIY Bride because it is already so pretty it doesn't take much to make it your own and make it beautiful. We only had a few hiccups on the wedding day...the plumbing and heat went out but they were quick to get them fixed before the guests arrived! THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE IVY VENUE, NOT THE COTTON MARKET!! This venue looks decent from the outside, however, one can easily find things inside and out that are not pleasing to the eye. Every time that I went to the venue to "check it out" there was always leftover crap from the wedding before. Outside: water hoses, used cigarette buckets, decorations, etc. Inside: floors are nasty, tables are dirty, decorations left out, bathrooms gross, etc. The DAY OF my wedding we had to clean the place before we could even decorate it. Ridiculous. I had to sweep the floor myself( the bride), wipe the tables somewhat clean, the bathrooms were okay, the floor was sticky with spilled liquids, etc. We had our wedding on a Thursday, they charged us another $150 on top of $800 to have the venue the night before( which we booked the night before (sept. 31) a week before the wedding(October 1)). It made me mad because who is going to book an event the week before our wedding on a Wednesday? Very frustrating. They just wanted to squeeze out money wherever they could. They also required us to use their catering service(who just so happens to be the venue owner's daughter), which would have made us spend another $1000 for 6 items of food. That doesn't include delivery(I know, right?!), utensils, plates, napkins, cups, anything. Their "compromise" was that we could have family cater our wedding. Which is essentially what we ended up doing. We also paid the money for the venue expecting to have a sound system(which they originally had, but said that it kept being stolen, which is fine, but that's not my fault). Their ceiling is over 10 ft tall, and they allow decorating the ceiling in some places, but don't provide a ladder tall enough to reach the ceiling, because " it kept getting stolen". Not very professional, in my opinion, and the thing that made me the most angry was that I had to clean the place myself. The place should have been spotless.THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE IVY VENUE, NOT THE COTTON MARKET!!
