From the first visit to the Cooper House, we knew it was the place we wanted to have our wedding. Both interior and exterior are absolutely beautiful. There is no need for any decorating inside other than your choice of flowers. Its a rustic paradise. They provide the house to get ready for your special day, that had ample space for both bride and groom. Their garden is breath taking. Having our ceremony under the large, beauitful tree was perfect.
Marnie and Lauri were phenomenal to work with. They helped plan everything. We had our food catered from them, they hired servers and a bartender. Ordered, picked up, and returned any linens we rented. Going with The Cooper House and Marnie and Lauri was the best decision we made for our wedding. Completely takes the stress out of the planning.

We live in Michigan & made all our plans through Marnie & Lauri via telephone chats & e-mail. The decor was executed flawlessly. The napkins, lanterns & flowers looked amazing. The food selection, pricing and preparation was an excellent value and every bite was delicious. They procured a photographer for the day. The cake & bite sized sweets were phenomenal- hand painted decor on our Pina colada flavored cake. The rehearsal & set up ran smoothly and the private areas to prepare for hair & make up were charming & inviting. And Cooper, the facilities resident cat, oversaw everything. We had a great experience & highly recommend this venue & wedding coordinators.

We just got married here and I can’t recommend it enough! Great location, beautiful house, outside garden area, plenty of parking, beautiful view, and history in itself. It was my dream venue and I’m in love with it. It was so beautiful for our outdoor wedding, and then an easy transition to the reception. Marnie and her team were absolutely amazing and incredibly helpful the entire way through! They also work with a lot of great vendors that they recommend to you. If you wish to have a simple or themed wedding, this is the place for you. Marnie truly made our big day beyond magical!

I can’t even begin to explain how grateful we are that our friend Sherry recommended Marnie & The Cooper House. Marnie has been an amazing person to work with. She never dropped the ball, always on point. Patient, kind, gracious, and honest. She always reminds the bride that it’s your wedding and it’s about what the two of you want.
As for The Cooper House, wow!! It was magical. Beautiful venue outside and in. The food from Ralph.....amazing. We had the fried chicken, so delicious!!!!!

Very professional and romantic venue

I am so glad that I chose to have my wedding at the Cooper House! It is such a beautiful venue and Marnie Kennedy (runs the venue and also has a wedding planning business) made sure planning was as seamless as possible; which was a blessing since we had to postpone due to covid. There are so many special things about this venue that make it one of a kind from the beautiful oak trees, to the general store, and new deck area outside. The Cooper House offered everything we were looking for in one convenient space. We loved working with Marnie and we love The Coop!

The Cooper House is an absolutely amazing venue. Every aspect is wonderful. The bridal suite, historic house, beautiful garden, and rustic General Store make it all around perfect. This venue is ran by Marnie Kennedy and she’s an all-star! We can’t thank her enough for giving us the wedding of our dreams.

We could not have asked for a better venue for my daughter's wedding. The weekend before the wedding most of South Carolina was flooded by the 1000yr storm. We had planned to have the ceremony and cocktail hour in the gardens and dinner/reception in the general store. Rain forced us to Plan B which meant we had to find a way to accommodate 100 guests indoors for ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception. Rita and her staff did an unbelievable job of making everything perfect. None of the guest were aware of all the craziness behind the scenes to pull this off which is exactly what you want under the circumstances. The venue was gorgeous, the food was great, and everyone had a wonderful time. I would recommend The Cooper House for any occasion.

Our wedding was absolutely amazing and beautiful!!! We don’t know what we would have done without Marnie!!! She’s always there to help with all our needs and she’s full of great ideas, our wedding wouldn’t have been the great wedding it was without her.

Oh my goodness. Where do I even start??? This is going to be a long review because it's very, very much deserved. Well, I came to Marnie Kennedy about 67 days ago and told her I wanted a fall wedding. I explained to her that my now husband and I were coming from out of state and were likely to deploy next year, hence the short time frame. Marnie immediately said, "not a problem...let's do this!" and thus our awesome journey with The Cooper House and Leave It to Marnie began....

I cannot say good enough things about Marnie...we gave her just over two months and she executed our wedding flawlessly...allow me to gush a little more..

The Cooper House Venue: absolutely breathtaking. We knew it was "the one" just by looking at pictures. I actually got goosebumps when I visited it in person. Our ceremony was outside under a huge willow tree. The cocktail hour was inside the general store and in the courtyard and dinner was inside the general store. If you're looking for rustic, charming, warm and just overall beautiful, this is the venue for you. The general store is perfectly set up and all of the wooden shelves are filled with beautiful items that Marnie has collected over the years. Absolutely adorable. Since we were going for a rustic, fall wedding, this venue was quite literally out of dream.

The food: OMG the food. Ralph does the catering and he's amazing. I had several wedding guests tell me afterwards that this was the best wedding food they EVER had. Wedding food is tough--especially when you want to make sure your guest are fed good food---but it's a breeze at the Coop. Ralph whipped up some of our favorites, including chicken parmesan and beef brisket, and they were to die for. Even as leftovers, still mouth watering!

Working with Marnie's recommended vendors: We opted to not only have our wedding at the Coop, but we also had Marnie serve as our wedding planner/coordinator. With Marnie came a list of recommended vendors--flowers, hair, photography, cake, etc...and we were so happy with all of them. The great thing about working with someone that has great connections is that you get to benefit from them as well. Even when we weren't 100% sold on someone, Marnie gave another 3-4 recommendations. As an out of state bride planning a wedding in 2 months, this was a saving grace....not to mention they were awesome at what they did.

Working with Marnie: The BEST part of this whole experience was Marnie herself. The woman must be secretly a superhero because she never stops. I gave her an idea of what I wanted the venue to look like (decor wise) and I was literally blown away. Beautiful doesn't even begin to describe how amazing the venue looked. Marnie pours her heart into EVERYTHING she does and it shows in her work. She handles all of our concerns and does everything from setting up to making sure the day runs smoothly to safety pinning our best man's pants that ripped down his booty! It was such an incredible experience working with Marnie and I would recommend it to every person I meet. Most brides are stressed on their day. Not me--despite how type A I am--haha. I was as cool as a cucumber. I ate, danced and drank my heart out on my big day because I knew we were in great hands. Honestly, it was the most fun wedding I've ever attended (and not just because it was my own, LOL).

To sum up my long review: The Coop is amazing! Ralph's food is incredible and YOU MUST #LeaveItToMarnie if you want your day to be perfect. Thank you, Marnie, Ralph, and the Coop family for making our wedding the most fun, beautiful, stress free and epic day we could ever ask for!

From the moment I toured the property I knew it was the one. The food was delicious. My wedding day was perfect thanks to the Cooper House and staff.

I had the pleasure of attending a wedding at The Cooper House on 4/20/2018. It was the best wedding we have ever attended. The decor and food was just amazing. The service was impeccable. Truly a fascinating evening all around!

The Cooper House was the best decision I made when looking for a venue. I lived out of state and we planned a beach destination wedding. The Cooper House was supposed to just be our reception venue. The plan changed after a storm rolled in and lasted the entire evening. They were more than accommodating to let me have my ceremony at their venue as well. The food was amazing.. my guests still talk about it to this day. We loved our experience and our wedding was truly special thanks to the Cooper House. The process was easy and everyone was so helpful. Would recommend to anyone looking for a more unique, intimate setting. You will not be disappointed.

We had a very, very small service at the Cooper House in Spring 2017. The Cooper House was an absolutely beautiful venue and they listened to us and catered to exactly how we wanted our day (short and sweet). It was very stress free.

My sister had the most beautiful wedding ever thanks to Cooper House (and the wonderful Marnie!!). This is an absolutely beautiful and serene wedding location and Marnie was beyond helpful with everything. I recommend them to everyone in the area.

I loved this venue!! I chose it sight unseen, only via pictures. When I first saw it the day before my wedding, and I was blown away by the beauty of the venue!! It was everything I dreamed of and Rita was amazing to work with. She was very accommodating and it was all about mine and my husband's day! I would 100% recommend her and the venue to anyone. Also, I recieved soooo many compliments on how pretty everything was! Go with Rita and The Cooper House, you will not be disappointed!!

Rita and her staff are amazing! Betty is a God-send. They are extremely professional and helpful. Whatever you can dream up they will make it happen for you. Betty is the caterer there. If you book the venue you have to try her food. It is simply amazing. I was too excited to eat during my wedding day but the staff wrapped up some food for me and I enjoyed it later that night. I am so happy with my choice in this venue I couldn't imagine my wedding day anywhere else.

Cooper House Event Center in Myrtle Beach was an excellent venue choice for us. After searching several venues throughout the area, this venue served our needs. Rita Gray, the owner was wonderful. From the beginning to end she was great to work with. Their price was reasonable and they had so much to offer. My Darling Husband feel in love with this venue. He could not stop talking about. Our guest were also amazed by the venue. We did not want anything traditional. This was a great choice for us. We were pleased with their services and would recommend this venue to all couples. Whatever you want they can do it. I only had a one problem. The response time, I would send an email and I would get a response until a day or two later. (Could be bossy bride syndrome) lol. Great venue. They also provided the food for our venue. The food was wonderful. Chef Betty is grand. My family was asking for receipes. She was wonderful and very professional.

This venue is great if you're looking for a beautiful rustic venue at a good price. However, the phone doesn't actually ring there, they don't check voice messages and Rita is absolutely rude via email. They're great with face to face contact, if you can get in touch with them to make an appointment. Chef Betty was pleasant and great to work with every time I spoke with her and she was great over email.
6 months out from my wedding, about a month or two after I booked and paid in full with the Cooper House, I found out the venue I originally wanted was going to be able to do my whole wedding. I immediately contacted Rita to let her know that I wouldn't be able to have my wedding ceremony at the Cooper House. I told her I completely understood her keeping the deposit, but that I would like the rest of the venue fee back since I had paid it in it's entirety. She refused and told me that I could hold another party there instead, when I told her that I wasn't holding any parties of my own, she still refused. I have yet to see a dime of my venue fee (of course not counting the deposit) back, even with 6 months notice. It was very rude and very unprofessional.
So, great venue, very pretty, but if you're going to go with this place, make sure you absolutely want this place and aren't going to change venues, and do not pay in full until the day of the event. If something happens, Rita will not be ethical and pay you back the portion of the venue fee that isn't the deposit, she just considers it all the deposit, no matter what the signed contract says or she says in person.
