My husband was instantly sold on having a castle venue! Went to an open tour and were just amazed at how beautiful The Castle was! And a major bonus, its a freaking beautiful castle, so now much was needed in terms of decor.
We took one of the fill up dates for June 2019, but due to covid we postponed to December and it was a very easy process. I've been told we were very lucky with how they handled it. We didn't get jerked around or anything I've heard other couples had to go through with postponing. So that in itself was lovely.
Angela was very quick to respond to any emails we sent during the planning process. They were great to work with.
The day of was perfect and our guests loved being in a castle. The food was also delicious! The groom and bridal suites were very cozy and a lovely way to spend the day relaxing.
If you're looking for a fairy tale venue, The Castle at Rockwall is the place to go! -

The venue is absolutely beautiful and Angela is so great! She helped us with everything when planning our wedding, she was patient when we changed things last minute, and was so accommodating leading up to our big day! The venue itself was stunning and all you needed was a few decorations to make it sparkle and bring your wedding vision to life! All of our guest had the best time, raved about how gorgeous everything was and how amazing the food was (Beyond the Box Catering)! Our dream wedding happened here 9.21.2019 and we will always recommend the Castle and working with Angela specifically! -

I can’t express how much we and all of our guests LOVED this venue. Angela keeps things moving w/ease and Julia was the sweetest and most helpful! Our guests raved about the food and how stunning the venue is! You need very minimal decorations. They took care of everything and took great of us! Thank you for making our day special! -

We got married here 12/1/2018 and it was perfect! He proposed out front so it made choosing our wedding venue pretty easy. All my guests raved about how beautiful the architecture was and everyone LOVED the photo booth. We got our pictures back 2 days after the wedding so it was a great turnaround time! The bride and groom suites are very roomy. They come with a full bathroom so you can shower if needed. I was worried about having so many people in the suites with us but they were very spacious and was not an issue on the day of. Angela, our contact, was very helpful with our many questions and visits leading up to the day of. I highly recommend this venue! -

Getting married at The Castle was a fairy tale dream come true. It was the 1st venue we looked at and we immediately knew it was the perfect one for us. As we drove up for our 1st tour I couldn’t stop smiling and as we walked around I could visualize exactly how our wedding would look. We were married on 10/13/18 and (even though the day was rainy, we were drenched while unloading all of items to set up, and there was a leak at the front door) our day was flawless once we were inside and set up we were in a fairy tale. The gentleman who was there was extremely helpful and accommodating. Also working with Angela throughout the process was stress free as she ensured all of our questions were answered. As we were eating dinner the ceremony room was “flipped” into the dance floor with our DJ setting up in front of the fireplace with two tables on each side allowing plenty of room for tons of dancing! We loved photo booth and separate bar area as we had ample room to set up a “trick or treat” goodie table for our guests to grab sweet treats while filling up their glasses. We had so much fun we weren’t ready for our reception to end nor were our guests. I’ve always heard to be prepared because something will go wrong but I can honestly say our wedding was PERFECTION and our dream come true in this GORGEOUS venue! -

Christina Sent on 08/01/2018We had a DREAM wedding at The Castle! The value was a big factor for us. They gave us 12 hours plus one hour for our vendors to load out, time for an engagement shoot, an hour for a rehearsal, the in-house photobooth (a GREAT HIT with our guests) and they never hesitated to answer any questions in all the months leading up to the big day. They even worked with us to let us in the facility early on our wedding day to do the rehearsal that same day. We had a fairly large guest list (135 people) and there was plenty of space for everyone to have fun. We also got SO MANY COMPLIMENTS on the venue from everyone, and it made the perfect backdrop for all our photos. Honestly can't say enough good things. -

Very warm and welcoming, you feel right at home at the beginning of the tour and feel like part of the family at the end of it. The Castle is nothing short of amazing! It's gorgeous, it decorates itself due to being so ornate, is spacious for a large wedding, was surprisingly within our budget, and is the perfect venue for the most creative weddings. I can't wait to have our Renaissance-themed wedding here next year! -

Stephanie Sent on 09/28/2015From the first time we drove up to the Castle and met with Alicia, my fiance and I knew that this was where our wedding was going to be! After all, who doesn't want their Happily Ever After to begin in a castle?! I know my 6 year old self is over the moon that this venue exists AND, even better, in my hometown!! My fiance and I knew we wanted to get married close to home and avoid some of the traditional venues in the area, but I never even dreamed we would have found something so perfect. The Castle is gorgeous inside and out, but the Castle staff really make this place shine. Everyone is SO friendly, helpful and knowledgeable in their efforts to make your party the best! We hired the venue photographer for our pictures and were blown away with the quality results...and the quick turnaround! Not to mention we had SO MUCH FUN at our shoot!! Everyone has been so easy to work with and have made us feel like we're getting special, one-on-one service for such a special day in our lives. THANK YOU!!!! THE COUNTDOWN TO DECEMBER IS ON!!!

Nicole Sent on 10/07/2017Linda from The Castle was amazing from start to finish, our problem came with their catering vendor of which you cannot use anyone else. The venue is beautiful and it's accommodations for both sides of the wedding parties is unmatched. Our favorite feature was the customized photo booth, everyone loved it! The only thing I would recommend is that they open up their catering option to other vendors outside of Culinary Catering.

When my husband and I went looking for a venue we almost decided to sign right then and there for The Castle when we visited. We were having a themed wedding and a castle was the perfect setting for this magical event. They had just come under new management and were in the process of renovating the 2nd and 3rd floors into guest rooms that could be let out. The space was beautifully appointed, with a built in photo booth that could be rented for relatively cheap.
Pros:
- One of the longest hours of availability for the contract available for venues. For the price we paid we were able to be at the venue for over 12hrs.
- Able to do BYOB, which does cut down on the costs for having an open bar, even for a small guest list like ours. They do offer bartending packages as well so we don't have to mess with the hassle of finding a certified and insured bartender(s).
- A very nice gazebo area for outdoor ceremonies.
- Spacious venue grounds which insulated us from the noise and lights of the city, making it seem even more fantastical.
- The showers in the newly renovated rooms are magical! They're full body sprayers with a rainfall showerhead over the top. Truly a relaxing experience after such a long and tiring day.
Cons:
- Any time we had a question our planner had to hunt someone at the venue down to get an answer.
- No wifi offered at the venue at all.
- You HAVE to use their caterer, Beyond the Box Catering, no outside food/beverage vendors at all. They also charge a 20-30% "service" fee for their catering services, so keep that in mind for budgeting purposes.
- And you cannot take any of the leftover food that YOU PAID FOR home with you. They pack it all up and take it with them. My planner made up a couple of extra plates for my husband and I, and when she went to take the food up to our room (we had a special where we were staying in their honeymoon suite the night of the wedding) but they would not let her up to our room at all. She finally convinced the onsite coordinator for the venue to take the food up to the room for us.
- While the food for the most part was pretty good (the salmon pinwheels were excellent) they are not upfront about their ingredients in their foods. We had several people with nut allergies that had close calls because one of the salads that didn't have nuts in it originally had nuts, and one of our side dishes that also didn't have nuts when we did the taste test had nuts in it the day of. Make sure if you use this venue
- The bartenders were only supposed to open bottles of alcohol as needed. However, when we got all of the alcohol home several of the bottles of wine had been pre-opened and uncorked, and several cases of beer had also been opened. This meant we couldn't return them to the liquor store for a refund.
- The venue does NOT have adequate refrigerated storage for anything that needs to be kept refrigerated. Our cakes were delivered a couple of hours before the ceremony, and they made the vendor take the cakes back to their store to stay refrigerated and to be re-delivered closer to the ceremony. And you would think that the onsite coordinator would have been able to handle that with the vendor without getting me (the bride) involved, but NOOOO. I had to be fetched from the dressing room mid-hair session to deal with the issue.
- Speaking of refrigeration. They did have SOME fridges in the back and in the little food prep room they have. But did they stash the extra salmon pinwheels that they had in there so they could be eaten throughout the night? NOPE! It all sat out all evening and night, and had to be thrown out for safety reasons. Oh, and those plates of food that went up to our room? Did they get put in the full size refrigerator that was in there? NOPE! It was set on the counter in the kitchenette, along with the boxes upon boxes of leftover cake.
- The rooms. Let's start with the fact that they had a single trash can, a bathroom sized one in the bathroom, and that is it. Our food had been sat on the counter, with fish and chicken in it, instead of in the fridge that was in the room. No where to throw it away, or the mountains of cake they didn't think to ask if it should be sent home with any of the guests instead of hauled up the stairs and stacked in our room.
- No coffee maker or complimentary coffee that is standard in any hotel room.
- No Wifi or cable hooked up in the room, even though there were cables and a box, it was clearly not hooked up.
- THE BED WAS THE WORST I HAVE EVER SLEPT ON IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. It rocked like a freaking seesaw, so much so that my husband had to wake me up any time he got up or laid back down so I could hang on and not get launched off. It was also MAYBE a queen, but my husband and I sleep in a queen at home and this bed seemed smaller, so I am more inclined to believe it was a full. This was the "HONEYMOON SUITE". It needs at least a friggin king bed. Some of our wedding party also stayed in one of the other rooms the night of, and said their bed was exactly the same, and they had the same issues in their room, so this is not an isolated issue.
- There was only ONE set of towels in the bathroom, as if only ONE person was going to be staying there. Generally when someone gets married there is going to be TWO people sleeping and showering in there.
- There isn't any counter space to set your standard toiletries. Not even a place to hang them near the bathroom sink.
- No screens on the windows.
- A/C didn't cool the room down much.
Overall, the venue was beautiful and I am sure the pictures will look amazing. But I would only recommend this venue if you plan using all of there services exclusively. -
