We used the Cake Studio as the in-house vendor for Scioto Reserve and we were not disappointed. Katie was fantastic, and created the cake we had wanted!! The flavors were fantastic, and every guest commented on how delicious it was, but also how elegant the cake looked. Would highly recommend!!!

Katie's cakes are amazing! We got married at Heritage Golf Club and could choose from two different bakeries to provide our wedding cake. After tasting both options, we knew we had to go with the Cake Studio's signature cake. We also chose the buckeye cake, which I still have dreams about. Haha. Not really, but seriously it is that good. :) We received many compliments from our guests about how great the cake was. Highly recommend the Cake Studio to anyone looking for a delicious cake for any occasion.

If you are looking for a perfect cake baker in the Powell/Columbus, Ohio area, you absolutely cannot go wrong with The Cake Studio. We sampled multiple cake bakeries in the greater Columbus area and none tasted as good as hers. She not only had a great variety to offer, but they are unique and SO tasty. We got the signature cake which is a layered cake with vanilla, fresh raspberries, chocolate ganache, and chocolate cake in a single layer with buttercream frosting... YUM! Her prices were hundreds lower than the other bakeries we looked at for the same amount of cake. Additionally, she designs some of the most beautiful, elegant cakes I've ever seen. Go with Katie at The Cake Studio!! :)

Katie is amazing! The cake she designed for us was just perfect; it looked great and was so delicious. The cake fit into our theme and all of our guests loved it. In addition to making the perfect cake, Katie was a pleasure to work with. She communicated promptly and made sure we had no concerns. I would definitely work with her again and can confidently recommend her to anyone who wants a perfect cake; you will be in good hands!

We would highly recommend The Cake Studio! Katie was so easy to work with, and helped us design a beautiful wedding cake that went with the theme of our wedding. Her cake is delicious, and the buttercream icing is amazing! We received many compliments about our cake from our guests, and it looks beautiful in our wedding pictures.

Our cake from The Cake Studio was perfect and a simple process. I submitted a picture, from Pintrest of course, and they made the cake exactly how I wanted it! The guests loved all of the different flavors and I cannot wait to eat the top layer for our anniversary! I would definitely recommend The Cake Studio to any bride!

My sister hired the Cake Studio for her wedding 9 years ago and I knew that's who I wanted for my wedding as well. We were so excited when we booked with Scioto Reserve and found out that their package included a cake from the Cake Studio! Katie was very accommodating to our needs as we had several people who required gluten free options and she made them an entire gluten free cake! We ordered the signature cake so that everyone could have a little bit of both vanilla and chocolate heaven with each slice! The cake was moist and perfect! It was decorated beautifully as well! I am very happy we went with the Cake Studio!

Katie of The Cake Studio is amazing! She is very personable and pleasant and her cake melts in your mouth. Katie provides many different flavors and designs and is more than willing to work with couples in creating their perfect wedding cake. Our cake was absolutely stunning and we truly appreciated Katie's attention to detail in making it. We had french vanilla with fresh strawberries, lemon with fresh raspberries, and cinnamon carrot cake for our guests and we got rave reviews from our families and friends. It was delicious and I can't wait to eat our top layer next year on our anniversary!

Our cake was gorgeous! And it tasted AMAZING!!!! All the guests were gushing about the flavors! Katie is great - she even did some awesome smaller cakes for a baby shower just before my wedding for me so that I could test out the different flavors!

Katie was so easy to work with. Our wedding cake with a cake from Cake Studio automatically but I am so glad it did. She was very responsive in designing the cake and flexible in altering the design to fit my specifications. It was GOREGOUS the day of the wedding and exactly like what we had talked about. We got so many compliments on how amazing it looked and more importantly tasted!!!

Katie is the best baker in town! I tried many cakes before but with her Signature cake was love at first bite! I ordered a cake for 100 people but I had 75 adults so I was hoping to have some leftovers and guess what? There was none!

We were referred to the cake studio through the four seasons. The process couldn't have been easier! W met with Katie who was able to help me come up with the perfect cake and I left my cake toppers there. She dropped the cake off and we were billed through the four seasons - such a great thing to have it all rolled into one! The cake was perfect! It was beautiful and delicious! We needed more cake than was I wanted for a design, so we had a sheet cake in the back as well as the 3tiers that were displayed. Great service, great cake, we loved it!

The Cake Studio was the best cake vendor we met... hands down! She was the only vendor to offer us something to drink during our tasting, which although seemingly simple, was actually very important. We were able to cleanse our palette between bites and really get an accurate taste of each cake. They also have THE BEST cakes! They were all so delicious, with a delicate sweetness that we both like. She was able to design a cake based on our damask design. We used the pattern sparingly throughout our invites and decor, and she was able to do the same for our cake. It looked perfect!
We can't wait to get our anniversary cake so we can eat it again! One of the best cakes we've ever had.

Katie at The Cake Studio is great! She made us a delicious lemon cake with raspberry creme and fresh raspberries. We had a 4 tier cake, and there were so many designs I liked that I couldn't pick just one...so Katie designed one for us where each tier had a different "design" with our watermelon pink accents!

Our cake was the best wedding cake we have ever tasted! (Maybe a little biased??) Everyone was raving about the cake during the reception. Not only was it beautiful but it was amazingly delicious! Katie did a wonderful job on our cake. She listened to exactly what we wanted and the cake was WONDERFUL. In fact my husband REALLY wants to eat our top portion that is in the freezer. He won't stop begging to eat it... even giving me compromises. He doesn't even like sugar!

I LOVE the Cake Studio! They were very easy to work with and created a custom design for our wedding cake. It tasted delicious, and the sugar flowers looked impeccable! The prices were unbeatable as well. I would definitely recommend The Cake Studio to other brides!

We got the Cake Studio in our package with Scioto Reserve Country Club. This made things so easy. All we had to do was pick the design out of a book and pick the color. Then our florist threw some flowers on top of it the day of. The cake was beautiful and delicious!

The Cake Studio was very easy to work with! They had so many choices for types of cake and filling! I (the bride) am gluten free and they were able to make a gluten free anniversary cake at the top and also a small gluten free cake for us to cut at the reception, and it was delicious! The cake was beautiful and everyone enjoyed it! I would highly recommend the Cake Studio!

The cake studio did a fabulous job on my wedding cake. All i had to do was describe what i wanted and she drew it out perfectly. She made my cake look like my wedding dress and it was just breathtaking.

The cake was gorgeous! Exactly what I was looking for! My only regret was not trying each one of the 5 tiers! We got so caught up with guests, we only had the piece we fed each other... but it was so good! Guests raved about the design (which was garden inspired with branches up one side) and how amazing the cake tasted!

We loved the flexibility that we were offered. We had all layers a different flavor, and they were so willing to do that for us. The cake turned out amazing, and everyone complimented on how beautiful the detailing was! Some people even said it was the best cake they had ever eaten- I have to agree with that :) It was the best cake I've ever had in my life! Thanks so much!

Our wedding cake turned out perfect. Katie did such an amazing job that when I saw our finished cake, it took my breath away. I had forgotten to leave our cake topper out, so she used some of the extra calla lilies that we had bought for the cake and made a gorgeous arrangement on site on the top for our topper. I am actually glad that we did forget the real topper because it turned out so much more elegant the way she did it.

Also, we got SO many complements on the taste. Several of our guests asked for her contact info for them to get cakes from her for other events that they have in the future. Definitely recommended.

The cake was awesome! It came out looking almost exactly like she described it to me. The important thing is that the cake did not only look good, but tasted like a dream. I know the bride and groom do not typically get to eat the cake, but I gobbled down a piece after people were leaving.........I had to, it tastes so good!

Katie was a delight to work with and our cake was absolutely gorgeous. She make some beautiful sugar paste flowers. The cake was equally delicious and she did some custom flavors for us. She was also able to do our design with buttercream rather than fondant which made us really happy. All in all, we were beyond thrilled. Also, her prices were in line or slightly better than most comparable vendors. I would wholeheartedly recommend The Cake Studio to anyone.

WOW! Just wow! The cake studio was awesome, Katie was a pleasure to work with and gave us everything we wanted. She let us design our own cake and then gave us her expert advice! I am a person who generally doesn't like wedding cake but I ate every last bite of this one. The buckeye cake is FABULOUS. There is no reason to look anywhere else, whatever you want Katie can give it to you!

Katie was awesome. She knew exactly what I was trying to achieve with our cake - and the result was awesome! The cake was so delicious and looked perfect. We had sevearl layers with different fresh fruit and cake! The only cake left over was our topper - but she told us to go home and eat it - on our one year anniversary she would make us a new one!

I also used her for my shower cake and cakes since our wedding because they taste so amazing - people always ask who we used!

Katie was great to work with. We hired her when we were at our first venue and when we switched her cake was included in their package. She ended up just using our deposit to cover the filling instead of charging us for the cake as we had previously booked her for. Her cakes are delicious and she is so nice and great to work with. Try the buckeye cake, it is what go my husband hooked!

Our cake was AWESOME!!! The taste of it was to die for & it was so unique looking...just what we wanted. We froze some to eat after the honeymoon & even that tasted amazing. I can't wait for our anniversary to get another cake from her. I would recommend The Cake Studio to anyone! She was very friendly, very easy to meet with at the last minute and when I told her that I wanted to try a couple of flavors she told me she would have them ready the next day. The one thing is that you pay for any samples that you try. I came in with the design that my husband and I had drawn up hoping she could do something like it and she nailed it completely. It was a beautiful, individualized cake.

Amazing Cakes

We got married and Kinsale Golf and Country Club, and they use the Cake Studio as their house vendor. I was unsure at first but said one less thing to worry about. We had a samples and I was blown away!! All of the cake samples were just amazing! It was hard to choose, but we did narrow it down finally. We did have a small hiccup with communication as my emails with the cake design and some questions were going into the spam folder but we reached out through text message and got a response within 10 minutes! After that everything went very smoothly on the cake side, and the end result of the cake design was breathtaking! I went to change after cutting the cake and found all the cake gone! Every piece! I had been worried about left overs but nope none. I was sad about that due to the fact i really wanted a piece of the cassata. But I am glad everyone enjoyed. I very much recommend!

Katie at the The Cake Studio made a wedding cake for me and my husband that not only looked beautiful but tasted delicious! We had a 5 tier all buttercream cake with fresh flowers and gold lace design. I had a few ideas that I provided Katie with for creating the cake and she was able to design something beautiful and that fit my theme. Her cake flavors are delicious; highly recommend he signature flavor. Our guests loved the cake as well. Katie is very easy to work with and her service is wonderful. I would highly recommend her for your cake needs!

Our wedding cake not only looked beautiful, but tasted amazing! We continue to receive compliments on how delicious it tasted! My only complaint was at one point it was hard to get a hold of her, which made me concerned I was going to have to find another baker. Once we had our final meeting my concerns were completely gone. I loved how much input she wanted from me on the cakes design. She also made the cake for my shower, which had cute polka dots on it in my colors. It was equally delicious!

Katie at the Cake Studio is a cake genius. We had her do our wedding cake and the rehearsal dinner cake and our guests were so impressed we spent most of our time during brunch discussing the cake and passing out information. We ordered their signature cake for the rehearsal dinner and she created a very sweet sheet cake that captured a very important memory for us that involved a beach and some sea turtles. It was the sweetest (and most delicious) cake. Our wedding cake was even more amazing and was white chocolate with every other layer in strawberries in cream and raspberries in cream. It was light and fluffy and the merengue icing was perfect for a hot august day. Please make sure you bring your cake topper with you to your design meeting. We did not and had an unfortunate accident with our cake topper at the reception hall because of a small design issue. Please make sure you put the Cake Studio on the top of your list of cakes to taste. You will be impressed with your end result and you will have a wedding cake unlike everyone else.

Katie is awesome!! Not only was the cake B-E-A-UUUUTIFUL!!! But it is delicious! The cake turned out exactly how I'd imagined it! Katie's cake do not tast like a typical wedding cake. Katie is willing to go that extra step to make the day perfect! She was very helpful with ideas to pull in all the little touches! And she was willing to do a holiday wedding, New Years Day!

Our cake got more oh's and ah's!!! the flavor and texture were out of this world and the decor was exactly what I had imagined! The cake topper was't quite what i was looking for but, it was better than most! I would totally go back to the cake Studio for any parties, or special occasions. Def look them up at the Bridal Expo wher you can def see the special"ness" of thier cake and service. Don't fret at the laid back style of the company they never fail!

I first sampled cake from The Cake Studio at the 2010 Columbus Bride Show. There I had the opportunity to sample many cakes. But when I got home, it was the Cake Studio's brochure that I saved as my favorite of the event. That fall, when we were getting into the particulars of planning the wedding, I was positive that I wanted The Cake Studio to bake our cake. I was thrilled to learn that they partnered with our reception facility to include the cake in our package. We met with Katie to have a tasting and the options were delicious. At the recommendation of the reception site, we had to narrow it down to 2 flavors. That was a difficult, but tasty decision. We settled on her signature flavor minus the raspberries and the peanut butter with buckeye fudge filling. The groom doesn't typically care for peanut butter and he even loved this. We picked one of her former designs and tweaked it for our color scheme. In the end it looked beautiful and tasted amazing. I can't wait to cut into the topper on our anniversary!

We found our consultation with Katie to be delightful and fell in love with her "signature" cake. I am not a fan of cake, and this cake left me wanting another piece. The only thing that would make this business better is responsiveness- getting back with emails and phone calls in a more prompt manner. Overall, the wedding cake and grooms cake were beautiful and her cost was very competitive!

The Cake Studio was our reception venue’s top preferred baker, and from the moment we met with Katie, we knew exactly why! Katie was so wonderful to work with. At our initial meeting, she sat down with us, showed us her portfolio of cakes, and even provided us with a few samples of some of the flavors she offers! We chose a 4-tiered decorated cake and a sheet cake to accommodate all 200+ guests, 5 flavors in total, and our guests could not stop raving about our cake!! So many family and friends said that it was the best cake they had ever had. Not to mention our 4-tiered decorated cake was absolutely beautiful! She matched our vision completely. She is such a talented baker AND cake designer! My only complaint is that there were times where I would email or text Katie and would not hear back for several weeks, if at all. We wanted to see if we could sample a flavor that we had not tasted at our initial tasting, but she never got back to us. I would have preferred a little more communication, but honestly, at the end of the day, it didn’t matter, as our cakes were incredible! We were beyond impressed with them, especially our 4-tiered decorated cake!! I would definitely recommend The Cake Studio!

Our wedding cake was amazing!! Our venue had 2 cake companies they include in the package and we chose Katie with The Cake Studio. The cake was amazing at the tasting and even though my now husband could not attend, she packed him up a to go box. The only negative I had is Katie is a little hard to get a hold of but I think it is because she is so busy with cakes. I was nervous at first because I changed the color of my bridesmaid dresses and needed to change the ribbon color on the cake. I had emailed Katie with the changes. When we talked the week before the wedding she still had the old color of ribbon down so we got that all straightened out before it was too late :) The day of, our cake looked just like the sketch and was absolutely perfect and the right color! Everyone raved about the cake and all the flavors.

Our wedding cake was beautiful and delicious! Katie did an excellent job-- and she made our vision come to life exactly as we imagined it. Our only complaint was that it was very difficult to get in touch with her. It took several email attempts from both my mother and I and our venue's wedding coordinator before she finally set up a meeting to discuss the cake's design (we had already booked her well in advance). That being said, she did a fantastic job, and we got many, many comments about how great our cake was!

Many compliments on the quality of our cake. It was delicious and the design was exactly what I had asked for. They did an excellent job. My only minor complaint was the lack of communication, I sent a few e-mails and tried to schedule a special tasting to try a flavor that was not provided during our initial consult at Scioto Reserve Country Club and they never responded to my request. We ordered the flavor anyway and it exceeded our expectations. I just would have preferred a little more communication.

My husband and I are from the Columbus, OH area but currently live in Wisconsin. Trips back to Ohio for wedding planning were far and few between and extremely busy when we did make them. The Cake Studio was very accommodating with our tight schedule and fit our tasting in over the Christmas Holidays which was beyond helpful. We immediately fell in love with her signature flavor and knew we had to book The Cake Studio. Katie was able to design our cake to fit our personalities and even used our custom logo as the focal point. We received many compliments on how wonderful our cake not only looked but tasted as well. Communication and getting a speedy response was lacking at times but after reaching out with a few friendly reminders we were able to get back on the same page. Overall I would highly recommend The Cake Studio.

Absolutely the best wedding cake we have ever tasted! The cake was a custom design and The Cake Studio was a little slow in their communication responsivness, so about a month out we were a little on edge. But they corrected for their inaction immediately and delivered on time. We have had an incredible number of positive comments from our guests. Katie Kolvisto is top of the line in the kitchen!

We were very happy with the design and look of our cakes. We decided to do cakes and pies from Kate, and they were absolutely delicious. The only issue we had was that there wasn't enough!! Not everyone was able to get dessert served to them. But for the people who did, they were very happy! The taste was amazing though.

Our wedding cake was spectacular. Katie took my idea and turned it into the perfect cake. Not only was it beautiful but the taste was amazing. Our guests enjoyed the cake and everything was done right to our expectations. The only downfall is Katie is a bit hard to get a hold of. I think this is mainly because she is so busy. She was very flexible on payment and was right on time with the delivery which was the most important thing. I would highly recommend her cakes to any future brides.

My cake was amazing!!! The Cake Studio definitely has one of the best cakes in the Columbus area. I would recommend them based on the quality of the cake and the pricing. Katie was great to work with. I custom designed my own cake and she took my drawing and made it come to life in this amazing white and hot pink buttercream dream. The fillings were amazing and everyone at the wedding loved it. I will say that Katie is horrible at responding to emails and phone calls in a timely manner and sometimes she has a hard time remembering exactly what cake you were working on which can be kind of scary at times, but I attribute that to her abundance of clients!! However she never fails to deliver exactly what you wanted and more, she exceeded my expectations. I would recommend The Cake Studio to everyone!

The Cake Studio was great. Katie is friendly and offered wonderful ideas. She was also so helpful with any aspect... this even includes reminding me to take the stickers off my cake cutter and clean it before the day of. I didn't even think of that, and I am so thankful she did because I had to get the goo gone out :)

The cake was amazing... and tastes just as amazing :) I'm so happy we worked with Katie and the Cake Studio. A beautiful cake!

The cake tasted amazing and definetely the best value around. We did have a little issue with the filling seeping out of the cake, but the overall design was beautiful. Our only complaint was quickness to respond to emails/voicemails, however we have recommended them to several of our engaged friends who are now also using "The Cake Studio". I also plan on returning my business to them for our future cake needs.

My one disappointment of my wedding day was the look of the cake. Her price was was reasonable and the cake tasted absoultely amazing but she did not have the cake hoisted up so that we could place flowers around the bottom of the cake like we had discussed. Oh well, the wedding was still absolutely amazing and I didn't have the energy to c/o about it!

Our goal for our wedding cake was for it to become a real show piece for our guests. We wanted viberant colors to show off our personality and the "look" of our wedding. We met with them 3 times before our wedding date. Each time we were not remember and had to start from scratch on our same cake idea. It was very difficult to communicate with them to ask questions and get simples questions answered via email right before the wedding. When the cake finally arrived on our wedding day it was missing all of the sugar flowers which were requested at all three of the consulations. When asked about the mistake, we were told that they were never part of our dicussions evethough they were noted on the bill and we had paid for them. At the end of the day, it was still a very beautiful cake that tasted wonderful. No one except my husband and I knew something was missing and not 100%.

Fantastic cake and they had a huge variety of things to choose from. When I went in for my consultation they gave me a bad (incorrect) quote and then later increased the price. Totally worth the cost, but they way it was handled was frustrating since I had it in writing but what could I do about it 2 weeks before the wedding.

Final product was flawless and gorgeous - the best wedding cake we have even seen and it was ours! She knows cakes and she knows decorating them. Only downsides...didn't get the $50 deposit back (for returning the cake tray as agreed) and the 1 year anniversary cake was teeney tiney and non-decorated. Expect to compete with her kids when you meet with her (in her home)...but when it all boils down to "did she deliver a great wedding cake?"...the answer is a gigantic "YES INDEED! IT WAS AWESOME!"

I absolutely LOVED how the cake looked and tasted! I tried quite a few cakes, and Katie's was by far the best one! I couldn't have been happier with the final product.

However, it was very difficult to get in touch with The Cake Studio. I met Katie at a bridal show, and tried to make an appointment over the phone as well as by email a few times. It took quite a bit of persistence to schedule an appointment. When we met, she was more than accommodating and very helpful and I left feeling great about my choice. But then again in the weeks leading up to the wedding, I had to call and email quite a bit to confirm. Everything went perfectly, but I can't deny that I was nervous. If the communication was better, I would have left a 5 star rating.

Our cake was delicious however we had some problems with figuring out what flavors we wanted and tried contacting and we were getting no responses back. We had a cake tasting at our reception venue and it was very unorganized. We could not even discuss or ask any questions with the owner of the Cake Studio. When we emailed, we had to contact our reception contact first and then they were to contact the owner. There were flavors on the menu listed that we did not get to try and there were even flavors on the website that did not match up to the ordering sheet. When asked to have an individual tasting so we could sit down, the owner was not flexible with this and so therefore we went with plain vanilla and chocolate cake. We asked to have a monogram added to our cake and when we showed up to the reception there was no monogram. Like I said at the beginning, the cake tasted amazing and everyone commented on how good it was, the service, professionalism and flexibility are lacking.

I ordered my cake from Katie for my summer wedding. I found her business through WeddingWire.com and I fell in love with her cake photos from her website. She was very quick to get back to me about my inquiry and when we sat down to design my wedding cake, it was a breeze! Her prices are a bit expensive but she offers ways to fit your budget. On my wedding day, I absolutely loved my wedding cake!! It was very pretty and delicious.
On the down side.. a $100 deposit was required for using her cake stand. I was told once her cake stand was returned to her, she would refund the $100. Well, on my wedding day there wasn't a cake stand at all which was very disappointing. After contacting her several times about my refund, a $100 check was mailed but it was bit of a hassle getting my money back.

Was disappointed when the first thing I saw when I entered the Venue was my cake that had no decoration at all!!! I had sent pictures of the scroll work we liked and even talked in detail with Katie about the decor of the cake a week before the wedding. I am glad I provided ribbon to go around the bottom of the tiers....at least that was used. We even read a review on here about the same thing happen to someone else. Tried to follow up about the mistake and still no response a month later.

The cake tasted good and everyone liked it. Nobody knew there was suppose to be design on the cake except us.

She was friendly when we met and discussed exactly what my cake was going to look like, however when it arrived the day of my wedding is was completely wrong. I told the man that delivered the cake (her husband) that it was incorrect and he acted clueless and unhelpful. He told me to get in touch with his wife.

The day after my wedding I called and left messages for her to call me back. I even called everyday for the next 2 weeks and failed to ever get a response.

I filed a complaint through the Better Business Bureau and still failed to get a response from her. This issue is still unresolved.

I would not recommend using this vendor.

Had 2 meetings with the owner about my wedding cake design. My wedding day arrived and we got a COMPLETELY wrong cake than what we ordered. This cake was ugly and I was so unhappy with it. After the wedding we were talking with the owner about the mistake, and she wouldn't take ownership for her mistake. Very displeased!
