Delicious cake
We are so happy we chose The Cake Faerie for our wedding cake. Many of our guests commented on how good the cake was, which is not often heard at weddings. The cake truly was delicious and beautiful, for a much better price than nearby fancy bakeries. Michelle was very nice and easy to work with, and was accommodating to a last minute change in our order. Would highly recommend her for your wedding cake! -

10/10! YUM!
We hired Michelle for our 7/10/22 wedding, and we are so glad we did. We did a small 1 tier cake for us to cut during the reception and then did cupcakes for our guests. We had 5 different flavors, and everyone LOVED them. Michelle was so flexible with us choosing different combinations and everything turned our beautifully and tasted delicious. -

Rocks My Socks!
I found Michelle, The Cake Faerie by chance online, and I’m so thankful that I did - she had me at “I love Cookie Monster Cakes,” when I reached out with what I had wanted to do.
Every single interaction with Michelle was beyond fantabulous, and I’m kind of going to miss our communications back and forth.
The cakes were amazingly delicious, and the buttercream icing, literally had me drooling. A+++ on deliciousness!
And, as y’all can see from the attached photos, the cake and cupcakes were visually astounding!! I was just over the moon! Everyone at the party, literally gasped when I pulled the cake out of the box.
I promise you, you will be so happy with your decision to book The Cake Faerie. I found my cake person for life, and I can’t wait to make up an excuse to get my next cake.

Beautiful and delicious!
Michelle created the most beautiful little cake for us, and helped us come up with some fantastic cupcake flavors! She was super communicative throughout the design process, and we received so many compliments on how delicious the cake and cupcakes were. -

Wonderful and Delicious!!!
We wanted a half/ half drape cake for our wedding and she Made it happen! She took our thoughts and added her creative vision to make a super awesome cake! The guests couldn’t stop commenting on it! Oh and to make it better.... it was delish too! We did two different flavors bc the groom and I couldn’t decide haha! The top was my choice and the bottom his! Just need another occasion now to order a cake from her!!!! Highly recommend! :)-

After getting engaged, I started truly wedding planning Summer 2018. My husband and I were stationed in Germany. I was searching high and low for a reputable baker in the area with reasonable prices and available on a very popular wedding date! My best friend had actually used Michelle for her own wedding.
Michelle was so sweet and easy to get along with. She was great communicating with me despite the 6 hour time difference. When I came home in May she set up a great tasting for us and really explained all the different flavors and frostings. She gave us full range of different variety’s of flavors we could use. The contract was easy to read and straight forward.
We opted into a 4-tiered cake. 2 cakes were lemon with a raspberry/lemon curd filling and 2 cakes were almond/amaretto flavored with an almond brittle filling. The cake looked great from my inspiration picture, she truly is an artist who loves what she does. I highly recommend Michelle to any brides!!!

Perfect cake!
We were very excited for us to experience the wedding cake tasting process and we were not let down with Michelle. She provided tasty samples, even during the process of changing buildings, and gave us all of the options we had to create the perfect combination of filling, cake, and icing. The presentation of the cake was amazing and so was working with Michelle! -

Our wedding cake was perfect! It was beautiful but also delicious, and Michelle is awesome. We had a simple design with fresh flowers and different flavors for each tier. And we could not have been happier! -

I've never been the biggest fan of wedding cake (so dry!), so I didn't want to spend a ton of our wedding budget on it. Half the people at the reception never end up eating it. When I had another vendor fall through, I found Fiona's by the Cake Faerie. I loved my first conversation with Michelle on the phone. I voiced how people never eat the cake. And she stated, well, they've never had MY cake. I promise you it will all be gone. And she was absolutely right. People raved about her cake all night and every last piece was gone. It was delicious! Not dry, tons of flavor. We had the lemon with raspberry filling. I still think about how delicious it was. She worked with my budget and produced a beautiful cutting cake with simple details and it was some of the yummiest cake I've ever had. I recommend her services to anyone wanted great cake! -

Michelle the Cake Faerie is phenomenal. For nearly a decade, my mom owned a bakery so I've known that one day, I would be very particular with my wedding cake, especially how it tasted. My husband and I sampled one other bakery, whose flavors were not as good and whose price was more than double that from Fiona's. We loved Michelle herself, and her frosting and cake flavors were so much better. And her price was excellent! Michelle even took a phone call from my mom who had a whole bunch of questions before we even met! Embarrassing but thoughtful. Michelle didn't seem to mind it. Our wedding cake for 130 people was absolutely stunning. I showed her a picture of what we wanted and she did it without a hitch! She took the time to review the details with us, confirm the colors, offer alternatives, and provide us with our dream cake. The cream cheese frosting (my favorite - she has the BEST) was SO good and our fresh fruit was truly FRESH. The vanilla cake was moist and the flavors were exceptional. Thank you Cake Faerie! PS: I love that you signed our guest book!!!! -

We loved working with Michelle! We showed up unannounced one day and Michelle spent the time to talk to us even though it was her day off. We loved all of the cakes that we tasted- it was so hard to decide what we wanted. We ended up doing a 4-tier cake alternating between red velvet and vanilla almond- delicious! Our guests raved to us on our wedding day and told us that it was the best wedding cake they had ever had! We can't wait to eat our cake on our one year anniversary. Thank you Michelle!! -

Delicious!!! I loved working with Michelle and we were extremely happy with our wedding cake! My husband and I have Celiac Disease and cannot have any gluten, but Michelle was super accommodating. When we had our tasting made she all of the options were gluten free- we were able to try vanilla and chocolate cake with a variety of fillings. She worked within our budget and clearly explained all of our options with sheet cakes, tiers, etc. In the end, the cake was beautifully designed and absolutely delicious. Michelle was very reliable and arrived at the venue on time (she transported it to the Eastern Shore for us). We ended up getting a sheet cake that was chocolate with chocolate filling, and a tiered cake with vanilla and a cream cheese and raspberry filling. The top tier was gluten free, and the rest of the cake was regular. We heard a lot of great things about the cake, and we were in love with our gluten free cake. I would highly recommend using Fiona’s Cakes, you won’t be disappointed! -

Michelle (The Cake Faerie) was amazing! She made the most beautiful cake for our wedding that was absolutely what we wanted and then some. Each tier was a different flavor (which is wonderful since we had some guests who loved chocolate and then some who didn't!) and it was just beautiful and executed perfectly. We had a private tasting first to see which flavors and icings we wanted. They even delivered it on the day of our wedding which was Christmas Eve and decorated it with the rosemary and raspberries with me right next to it so she could make sure it was exactly what we wanted. We could not be happier with how it turned out. -

Fiona made the cake I had been dreaming of for our wedding. Delicious and gorgeous. Four tiers, buttercream frosting. Our tasting/meeting with Fiona was great. She has endless pictures of all of the amazing wedding cakes she has created over the years, which made it very easy for us to show her what we wanted. Not only that, but it gave us great confidence knowing that she has made our style of cake plenty of times. The variety in flavor choices is great, although narrowing them down was very difficult because we loved them all. We are still eating our left over cake. I have a feeling it may not even make it to the freezer. -

Michelle Lowman, the new owner of Fiona's Cakes provided cupcakes and a small cutting cake for my wedding. She provided several cupcakes for me to take home and try at my leisure to decide on a flavor. We worked together on the look, colors, and presentation of the cupcakes through photos. She made sure the cake would accommodate the topper I had. She had some curve balls thrown at her at the last minute by the venue and caterer, but she handled them all gracefully. And she was very affordable! -

We did a peak-a-boo cake, peanut butter chocolate on the top with a peanut butter filling and american buttercream icing, and the lower 2 tiers were this amazing almond and amaretto cake that just melts in your mouth! My after party killed all of it, so I'll just have to get another one to celebrate our anniversary!

Fiona's cakes are unbelievable good! Not only are they beautiful but the flavors were incredible. People are still raving about how good our wedding cake was. We ordered both a chocolate layer and an almond/raspberry layer with Italian meringue icing. can't wait for our 1st anniversary to have it again. If I could give Fiona more than 5 stars I would! Our wedding cake was incredible. I knew when we went for our cake tasting that this was definitely where we would be getting our cake from. Fiona was professional, flexible, and super talented at what she does. Not only did our cake look gorgeous BUT it tasted amazing too. I'm so glad that we had leftovers to take home. Our guests raved about our cake during and after the wedding. We chose the almond cake with raspberry and almond brittle as the filling - just delicious! -

WOW! Cannot even put into words the amazing wedding cake Fiona's made for us. We fell in love with Fiona's Cakes at the cake tasting (every flavor was delicious). We ended up choosing 2 flavors for our wedding cake- the almond amaretto and a lemon cake with raspberry and lemon filling with buttercream frosting. Our guests raved about both flavors and multiple guests admitted to eating multiple slices :) We provided Fiona with a picture of the cake we wanted and she replicated it exactly! We cannot wait to eat our top tier in a year, although I'm sure we'll be back to Fiona's before then! Amazing cake! -

I got a small wedding cutting cake from Fiona, and she was such a pleasure to work with. I called her a few times then ordered via email about ten days out. She had no issue with my timeframe and was very helpful and accommodating. We talked a little bit about my intentions, and she recommended a size of cake and allowed me to choose the flavors. We went with a chocolate cake with raspberry filling and white buttercream – my goodness was that cake good! We only did it as a cutting cake, so we didn’t offer it to guests, but they were still clamoring to get the remaining pieces!
As for the design, I told her that I wanted a white cake with “some sort of texture.” I told her that we were doing silk flowers for the wedding, and she recommended that I put some of those on the cake – definitely a great recommendation. I left the design of the icing up to her, and she put a perfect texture into the icing – not too crazy, but just enough.
The cake was ready as requested, boxed up nicely, and the staff was very helpful when we picked it up. I highly recommend Fiona – the cake was so yummy, designed perfectly, and she was a pleasure to work with. -

Fiona's cakes are amazing!!! The highlight of wedding planning was spending some time with Fiona and sampling her different combinations. We loved them all, and ultimately went with vanilla cake, lemon curd filling, and American buttercream frosting. It was life-changing!!! The cake was such a highlight of the night, and we all finished the leftovers the next day. Everyone was talking about the cake, and it looked just as spectacular as it tasted. Instead of ordering extra cake so we could save and freeze the top layer, we decided to just return to Fiona on our first anniversary to buy a fresh cake from her. We are already dreaming about this day!! Thank you, Fiona!! Five stars - highly recommended for anyone looking for the best cakes around!! -

So I'm the kind of bride that heavily researches every possible option before selecting a wedding vendor. There are so many cake/ bakeries that range a lot in terms of quality and cost and I had to look a them all. Well let me tell you- save yourself time and energy and just pick Fiona's Cakes! I will tell you four reasons why you should. First of all, she's definitely one of the most economical places in the area. Second, let me just preface this review by saying I'm not a huge cake person. I'll eat a little for birthdays but it's not really my thing. Well I was totally converted during our cake tasting with Fiona! Honestly I had no idea cake could be this good. The moment I took a bite of her vanilla cake with raspberry preserves, I was completely sold! There are no words for how good it is. And the chocolate with chocolate filling was so divine! Not to mention the buttercream icing... just amazing! I'm a total foodie and I adore all things dessert, and yet I've never had icing like this.
Third, she is super professional, kind, accommodating, and she will really listen to you as you show and describe your wedding cake vision. This is important, as some vendors will try and change your mind and/or impose their vision on you. Fourth, and most importantly, is her superb delivery. There are no words to describe how gorgeous and stunning our wedding cake was! Literally perfection. Our guests couldn't stop raving about our cake- I hated to cut it! 4 perfect tiers, with each alternating tier covered in perfect little dots. Surrounded by flickering candles and rose petals, and decorated with lavender rose buds- it was absolutely breathtaking! And of course the taste... like heaven! So stop your obsessive bridal research now and go see Fiona. Taste the cake and get converted! I promise you won't be disappointed : ) -

Fiona's cakes are AMAZING!! We loved our tasting so much that we had her do a cake for our rehearsal dinner as well. Two nights in a row with her cakes were to die for.

Total YUM! We don't think we have ever tasted a better wedding cake! Our guests kept coming back for more! And the four tier cake looked so beautiful too. Having Italian heritage on both sides of the family, food always plays a huge part of our family functions. Add a groom with the biggest sweet tooth I've ever seen, and only perfection would do for this wedding cake. Boy did we hit the jackpot. Fiona's cake was delicious and beautiful. I had so many guests comment on how much they enjoyed the cake, and wanted to know who made it!
Working with Fiona was a pleasure. She was always prompt in answering any questions we had, was happy to make suggestions on things we weren't sure of, and made us very comfortable from the beginning that she was someone we could trust.
I would recommend her to anyone, and look forward to our next special occasion to ask her to bake for us again! -

As far as the flavors- we chose chocolate mocha and lemon raspberry flavors- both were amazingly moist and flavorful and guests raved about it! Our cake from Fiona's was amazing and beautiful! We had part almond cake with strawberry filling, and part red velvet cake. We received many complements from guests on the cake, and I'll be very sad when the leftovers are gone. I could not be more pleased with how the cake looked and tasted.
I live in Massachusetts and planned the wedding from out of town. I had a great experience working with Fiona from afar. She was always responsive, worked around my times in town to meet with me, and worked with me as I changed my mind on cake flavors.

Fiona sat us down and spoke with us at first about what kind of cake we want, the size of our wedding, and decor on the cake. She was very accommodating and had many pictures and options for us to choose from!
My mom and I went to the cake tasting because my husband was unable to make it. After trying a bunch of amazing flavors of cakes, we decided we were left with 2 choices and were going to do 2 flavors of cake for our guests. I wanted my husband to have a say in it, but since he wasn't there, Fiona gave us samples to take home with us so he could try them. A doggie bag!
On the day of the wedding Fiona delivered the cake and it looked amazing. Exactly what we wanted! If you want a vendor who will give you exactly what you want (a beautiful delicious cake), at a great price, with a lovely smile and a great personality, go see Fiona! -

Getting my wedding cake with Fiona's was the easiest decision I made during our planning process. I had been to two weddings where I tasted her cakes - they were so good that I stopped dancing/drinking to go sit down and really TAKE IN this cake. The cake was, quite literally, a show stopper. So I knew I had to have it for my wedding!

Fiona's Cakes made the cake for our wedding and we could not have enjoyed it more. Fiona designed exactly what we wanted at a great price and it tasted delicious! Fiona was easy to communicate with and I knew the day of the wedding that I would not have to worry about the cake at all. We had many compliments on the cake at the end of the night! -

We had a wonderful experience with Fiona's Cakes for our wedding in September 2014. My husband and I really enjoyed the cake tasting appointment! Fiona met with us in the evening after work and spent ample time with us reviewing pictures and discussing ideas with us. I really did not have a clear vision as to what I wanted our cake to look like, but Fiona had an extensive portfolio with photo examples of different styles that helped us to narrow down an idea for our cake. The flavors that she had were wonderful! We chose a vanilla cake with layers of raspberry and almond brittle filling and buttercream icing. It was delicious and many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the cake. We also ordered a birthday cake for a family member with our selected flavors for the wedding cake over the summer before our wedding. It as a great way to make sure we liked the flavor combination that we chose and everyone really enjoyed the cake. I would definitely recommend Fiona's Cakes for your wedding cake. We had a great experience! -

Beautiful! Delicious! Fiona had lots of great suggestions and pictures for inspiration. Our guests loved having a choice of two different flavors with the different layers. Only problem was that we had cake leftover and had to eat it for breakfast the next few days - no wait, that's not a problem. That's a bonus! -

My wedding cake and two sheet cakes that I added on were beyond amazing. My husband and I never considered the cake to be one of our priorities, but after our consultation with Fiona we knew we had chosen the right place. All three cakes - lemon cake with alternating raspberry and lemon flavors, chocolate cake with peanut butter icing, and amaretto cake with an amaretto icing - were beyond delicious. We gave Fiona our topper, a Princess Leia and Han Solo action figure to be put on top, and dark and light gray ribbon to place all around the three layers. I couldn't have imagined anything better. Fiona truly took everything we had asked for and made it better. I do not think I have ever had better tasting cake in my life. I would use Fiona again for any occasion and I truly recommend her for all weddings. -

It is hard being an out-of-state Bride. Searching for vendors online and trusting everything on their websites....well I trusted Fiona and she made us an amazing cake! Fiona was extremely welcoming through emails and then when we finally met in person with her. She made the effort to explain to us that the cake is a reflection of the couple and that it was up to us on how it should be decorated-mind you i was with my parents at the time too, so lots of opinions. Fiona walked us through every step and, confirmed that she received payment each time we snail mailed her a check. She really goes above and beyond as a person and a vendor.
When I finally saw the cake in person, it was gorgeous. The ruffles on every other layer were perfect and matched my dress. We provided her two colors of ribbon for my husband's tiers and she decorated his beautifully. After a few hrs sitting out the cake was still moist. All the flavors of each layer were present in every bite. I would recommend Fiona to anyone. She hit it out of the park! We had every intention of taking our top tier home and saving it, but it was just too good. I never thought I'd ever have a tiramisu cake, but Fiona made it happen and it tasted like the real thing!!
Thank you Fiona, we'll be back next yr for an anniversary cake. -

Fiona was a delight to work with! We met with Fiona for our initial consultation and booked her that same day. Since I already knew what look I wanted for the cake we were able to provide her with all of the details during the consultation. Fiona was very responsive to my questions leading up to our wedding day and she gave us exactly what we wanted in a wedding cake. Our guests loved the cake too! We had lots of wedding cake left over so I brought some in to work and my coworkers raved about the cake and it was a few days old (refrigerated of course)! Also, her prices are the best I have seen in the area. I strongly recommend Fiona's Cakes! -

We first tried Fiona's cakes at a bridal show. They were absolutely fantastic, so we followed up with a tasting. We tasted about 8 different types of cake, and were were able to select two flavors for the wedding cake, with no extra cost. Our entire tasting party (bride, groom, bride's parents) were in complete agreement on the two we chose.The almond cake is unbelievable, and very different. And you can't beat chocolate! We didn't even visit any other vendors to taste cakes. The day of the wedding, the cake looked beautiful, and tasted fantastic. Very moist and the buttercream frosting was excellent. We received many compliments on it! Fiona is very easy to work with - I would absolutely recommend her. Also, her price was in line with or slightly below most of the other cake places we initially researched. -

Fiona was amazing! I first tasted her cakes at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club Bridal Show...then booked her shortly thereafter. I loved her as a person and her cakes were delicious!! We had a wonderful time at our tasting and she was very flexible with design and we brought in our own personalized cake-topper and ribbon for the cake. The cake looked and tasted even better than we imagined. Our guests loved the cake and several weeks after the reception, we are still enjoying leftover cake, it is delicious even after the event! She was very organized with the details for pricing, # of guests, decoration deadlines, etc. Fiona also is very helpful when it comes to envisioning your cake. I had difficulty picturing different ribbon sizes on the cake and she actually showed me what it would like and provided her own suggestions. We are so glad we went with Fiona's, highly recommended! -

The cake was delicious and the icing was a beautiful natural looking stucco style. It worked perfectly with my natural looking bird nest cake topper that I made and Fiona was flexible with. We picked Fiona's Cakes right away as our wedding cake vendor! We attended a Bridal Event and could instantly tell that Fiona's cakes were the most delicious - and that was before we realized that her decorative touches were so beautiful and intricate! My daughter, the bride, is an artist, so of course she wanted each layer to have a distinct style and decor. Fiona assured us that was no problem - and the result was the most beautiful delicious wedding cake we've ever known! From the first meeting, Fiona was approachable and creative and willing to deliver exactly what we wanted. My husband enjoyed the cake testing experience and having input on the icing - he was right about the Italian Buttercream, yum! We all agreed on the Almond/Almond Brickle combo and all our guests commented on the fabulous wedding cake! Fiona is a treasure - she is professional and fun and you can tell she enjoys doing what she does so well. Our entire experience was personal and friendly and positive - we never had to worry about the wedding cake! We highly recommend Fiona's Cakes and we look forward to calling her again! -

We definitely recommend Fiona's Cakes! It was very important to my husband and I to not just have a beautiful cake, but one that tasted good as well. Our cake was not only beautiful, but was absolutely delicious! Our flavors were red velvet and almond w/ raspberry filling, both which were amazing, but she has a wide variety of other flavors, fillings, and icing, so anybody could find something they like!
Fiona was wonderful to work with throughout the process as well! She was responsive, flexible, and thought of things we would have never known to ask about (preserving our top tier, providing "to-go" boxes for leftover cake, etc.).
Overall, a great experience and even better cake for our big day! She does not disappoint! :-)

Fiona was the ideal wedding vendor. From start to finish she was a dream to work with. From cake tasting, to responding to emails and questions right away to the actual cake come the wedding day everything was perfection.
She was wonderful at the tasting, because while I wasn't 100% sure on everything I wanted she had a way to ask the right questions and make the perfect recommendations. We had three different flavors and all were incredible. Guests told me all night long how it was the best wedding cake they ever had. We took home extras and had cake the next day gathering with family and not a piece was leftover.
The cake itself besides tasting amazing was also beautiful. My florist left flowers and she decorated it herself upon delivery. She made the frosting look exactly the way I wanted it to. She is incredible!
Price is great, and since she does not have a typical storefront bakery you avoid sales tax. I will definitely be recommending Fiona to all my friends and be using her in the future for anniversary cakes and such. -

Fiona's cakes are "melt in your mouth" delicious, and beautiful. She was also very helpful with suggestions in the planning stage, while still being respectful of our ideas.
The day of the wedding she and her husband arrived personally to set up the cake, right on time. They were also very considerate of all the other venders who were setting up.

Fiona worked with Intrigue designs to give us exacly what we wanted!! A 4 tier cake with a cascading brooches down the front. It was stunning!! and tasted equally as good!

Delectable! Delicious! Beautiful! Fiona makes the best cakes! When she told me that people would tell me that it was the best cake they'd ever had I was a bit skeptical. However, I knew it was good after our tasting; and I had multiple guests come up to me and say how wonderful the cake was. I had six tiers and 3 flavors. Fiona has the best cakes ever!! Seriously, I had people coming up to me saying - "I don't normally like wedding cake, but that is the best cake I've ever had!" ... We ended up with extra cake the day after the wedding and my family and friends were so excited :) We went with the almond cake with almond brittle filling and a chocolate cake with chocolate and buttercream filling. Both were amazing - I had a hard time picking a favorite, but I think the almond was the winner! Fiona is so sweet and very easy to communicate with through email.
