  Absolutely Superb

  We knew firsthand this cake would taste amazing but honestly we were very worried with the outcome since our original cake decorator moved to Texas. The buttery once again went over and above anything I could have ever imagined. Our cake was absolutely beautiful.

  Great tasting

  The tasting experience was amazing. The cakes were all so delicious. I actually enjoyed fondant for once in my life. My fiancé (who doesn't like cake) actually loved and devoured all of the cakes. Can't wait to see our wedding day cake.

  The Buttery did such a fantastic job the cake was not only beautiful but tasted out of this world

  BEST CAKES EVER! As the bride, I don't like cake...BUT I will only eat the Buttery's Carrot cake! My husband loves cake, so we got a chocolate ganache with Olallieberry jam and buttercream frosting. We wanted to cakes to be simple and elegant and they were PERFECT! Jill was very attentive to our requests and she even worked with us on the delivery of the cake (as there was a flight of stairs she had to go down for the cake set up). We love the Buttery and would recommend them for any cake!

  My cake came out so beautiful! Jill made my vision come true. She was so helpful and made sure that the delivery coincided with the weather to make sure that it wouldn't be too hot outside for my cake. Luckily the weather was perfect and it was delivered as normal! The cake was absolutely delicious and the fresh flowers matched my bouquets perfectly.

  Two words: FREE TASTING. That was what I looked for initially, but we always loved the buttery, so we pretty much knew this was it. They have binders of previous designs and they made notes like "swirl design from this cake," "flower cascade like this cake," "pattern like this cake." It was interesting, but they seemed pretty confident. I wasn't super picky, so I didn't bring them pictures or anything. We got a 3 tier cake for about 100 people, about $600 including delivery.
  They had slices of all kinds of cakes, a lot of which were quite unique. Almond red velvet with cream cheese frosting. And their rum cake! So good! The lady there tried really hard to accommodate and ventured into the actual bakery to bring us some samples of a couple other buttercream flavors.
  We ended up with a devils food cake, top 2 tiers with white chocolate buttercream filling and bottom tier with 1 filling layer chocolate ganache and the other filling layer hazelnut buttercream, everything covered in regular buttercream.

  Our wedding cake was wonderful. Not only did it look beautiful, but it tasted amazing. I loved that they worked with our florist too, to make sure they used flowers that were similar to the ones in the center pieces. The cake tasting was great too. She was very professional, knowledgeable, and provided plenty of options.

  The Buttery provided our wedding cake for our wedding in July. It was the most beautiful cake, it looked like something out of a magazine… and the taste was phenomenal! We had the chiffon olallieberry tier and a chocolate cake tier. Both were delicious! The entire process was painless. We had attended a wedding show and The Buttery had the best cake out of all the other booths. I booked an appointment, took in a picture of a cake I had seen on Pinterest and tasted the different options again… cause who can pass on this delicious cake, and that was it. The Buttery called to confirm a couple days before the wedding, drove the cake up to the venue in plenty of time and it was perfect. Not only did it look exactly like the photograph, it also tasted like heaven! Everyone loved the cake. I can’t wait to dive into the 1 year anniversary tier. If you are looking for a bakery who can make beautiful cakes that also taste good, try the Buttery. You will not be disappointed.

  What can I say, working with the Buttery for our wedding cake was a great experience from start to finish! If you are looking for a bakery for your wedding cake, look no further!Jill, our coordinator, was fantastic to work with, she was very professional throughout the entire process. We were provided with 6 of their most popular cakes at our tasting, and knew right away this was the bakery for us! She even wrapped up the leftover cake for us to take home with us :) all of the flavors are delicious it is actually hard to choose! We wound up choosing 2 dif flavors for the dif tiers: the carrot cake w/ cream cheese filling (this is their signature to die for flavor) and the chocolate with fresh hazelnut filling-yum! For the design portion of our cake: my husband and I were married at Nestldown in Los Gatos in July and we wanted a cake to match the natural beauty of the backdrop of our wedding. We found a design online of a beautiful 3 tiered wedding cake that actually looked like trunks of a tree, rings and all with 2 little owls in a nest on top of the cake. Our initials would be also be "carved" on the front in a heart. We presented the design and were told it would be no problem. Fast forward to our wedding day- when we saw that beautiful cake for the first time- we were in awe.The buttery far exceeded our expectations- the cake looked so incredible- even better than the original photo we presented! From the beautiful buttercream "rings" and "bark" on the tree to the perfectly placed sugar leaves to the cute little sugar owls in their best on top- it is the coolest tree we have ever seen and our guest were in awe as well. It was so cool, it didn't even look edible! And the best part was how delicious the cake was! We were told by many of guests it was the best cake they have ever had, or "I'm not a cake person but I loved your cake." We are so happy our parents saved the the top tier for us to enjoy on our next anniversary!a big thank you again to the Buttery!!

  Working with Jill was great. Our wedding cake was absolutely the best cake ever, and our guests were raving about how good the cake and the cookies we had were. We had the Chocolate Cake with the Fudge & Hazelnut ganache filling and the Carrot Cake. Thee best cake ever. I knew that I wanted The Buttery to do our cake, because they did my daughter's cake a few months earlier (featured on their website - The Happily Ever After cake). We got married on Cowell Beach and had the reception at The Dream Inn, so Jill incorporated the "Beach Theme" on our cake. The cake was so beautiful, again the guests couldn't get over how beautiful the cake was. I would highly recommend The Buttery again and again to anyone that is in need of a cake for any occasion. Plus their food overall is great.

  Jill and her team made me their famous carrot cake for my birthday party and, as usual, did a fantastic job.

  The wedding cake at my daughter’s wedding was outstanding thanks to the Buttery. The cake looked amazing and the coordination with the florist was a huge help. We never needed to do anything except show up to eat the cake! The guests were so pleased that seconds were requested and served to most!

  Our wedding cake from The Buttery was absolutely gorgeous and tasted delicious. We were told by many of our guests that the cake looked like something out of a wedding magazine. More importantly, it was the best Carrot Cake we've ever tasted. My husband ordered a small German Chocolate Cake just for him on the side, and it was divine! We would recommend The Buttery to anyone who wants a delicious and beautiful wedding cake on their special day. Sincerely, Diana and Rich Garner

  The Buttery made some delicious cheesecakes for our wedding. I saw on Facebook the day after that one guest was even clarifying why took three servings! Guests were calling us to find out if we had any left over to help us eat. We look forward to purchasing more cheesecakes from here each year to remind us of our special day.

  I only ordered a half sheet of carrot cake to supplement my small tiered cake from a different bakery. But seriously, this is the best carrot cake you will ever have. Even people who don't like carrot cake, love this stuff. You can't go wrong with the buttery.

  My family did the contract, tasting, etc with them so I'm not familiar on the process. I have always loved the baked goodies I get to enjoy from there, including my delicious wedding cake! They were able to do this with only a few weeks to go; which I think is pretty cool. Thank you to the team at The Buttery for making our amazing wedding cake! :-)

  We selected The Buttery for our wedding cake and was not disappointed. With the assistance of their wedding cake planner Jill we were able to create our cake to show the design, colors, and flowers we needed to complete our Hawaii/Ohana themed wedding. The cake was absolutely gorgeous and everyone raved about the color, hand painted design and orchids. Their red velvet, chocolate and ganache was absolutely a chocolate lovers dream. It was wonderful to work with such a great team of people. This bakery has it all, great pastries, cakes, cupcakes, sandwiches and coffee to make everyone happy! Truly delicious...

  if you live in/around the santa cruz area you likely already know the buttery and its awesome cakes - if you don't....you're really missing out.
  
  the cake was beautiful, but in all honesty that is the easiest part the harder part (IMHO) is getting a cake that tastes great and that is all we really wanted.
  
  a simple two layers - red velvet and devils food with chocolate fudge/olliaberry filling with a white chocolate buttercream frosting put all the wedding guests into a heavenly bliss.
  
  for a wedding, birthday, or just because you can't go wrong with a cake from the Buttery!

  Amazing cake! We asked for a customized suitcases cakes, and they turned out amazingly beautiful! All our guests loved it and amazed by the design they made. The flavors were so good too! Price was way cheaper than the rest of the cake shops we found. We highly recommend this shop to all your events. They were the most nicest vendor we had came up with too, very nice and professional!
