The Butterfly Room was so great to work with. Anna helped us through every step of the process and was able to answer all of my questions quickly. There were several things at the venue that are not offered elsewhere- a HUGE bridal prep room, a grooms prep room with games, and several spaces that allow for multiple different layouts and floor plans. It was a beautiful place to get married, and our guests couldn’t stop talking about it. -

I cannot recommend The Butterfly Room enough. The beauty of the venue speaks for itself, but what really stood out to me was how amazing the staff was. They were incredibly responsive, flexible, and helpful. Anna made me feel so much less stressed and was so fun to work with. -

The Butterfly Room was the perfect venue for our wedding! Its industrial charm gave our out-of-town guests a true taste of Baltimore, and the space couldn’t have been more perfect. We rented the handmade wood bars, which were an absolute showstopper, and the handcrafted tables tied everything together beautifully. Guests are still raving about how cool and unique the space was! If you’re looking for a venue that combines warmth, charm, and character, this is it. -

We toured the Butterfly Room soon after they opened up their books for events. We immediately fell in love with all the character the brick and glass provide and the natural light that fills the space. Not to mention the gorgeous tables and bars that are made by Sandtown Furniture that added a beautiful and unique touch on our wedding day.
The staff at The Butterfly Room went above and beyond to make everything seamless. Anna and the team were incredibly organized, attentive, and responsive to every question we had, making the planning process so much easier. They truly cared about every detail and ensured that everything ran smoothly from start to finish.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience or a more perfect venue. Thank you, Butterfly Room, for helping make our wedding day unforgettable!

This is honestly just the coolest venue in Baltimore, probably in the whole DMV. It's industrial but polished, unique (there's a woodshop as a backdrop with their incredible wood slabs and furniture in the event space), and the staff is incredible. We loved working with Anna and the rest of the team! They were always so quick to respond, flexible with all of the many questions and things that come up during wedding planning, and just went above and beyond anything we expected.
The venue is incredible, they do so much to keep improving it and making it special, and we are begging our other friends to get married here so that we can come back as guests this time! I can't recommend the Butterfly Room enough! -

Anna and the Butterfly Room team made everything around planning my wedding with them painless and perfect. From communication early on to day of, my husband and I were beyond impressed with everyone's friendliness, flexibility, generosity and just how good they are at what they do. The tables, bar and other custom pieces made by Sandtown are stunners, and the space itself is unique and special and gorgeous. Guests raved about every aspect of the space, and I wish I could do it all again and get married there again. Do not hesitate to work with them if you can. -

Caroline Sent on 01/21/2024Unique, beautiful, and practical venue with industrial Baltimore charm
We were lucky to find out about The Butterfly Room right when it first started taking bookings in early 2023 and to get to have our wedding there this past fall. As a working woodshop, it's an beautiful space with a lot of historic, industrial character inside and out. We loved that our wedding got to take place at a local small business that makes beautiful things and has a great sustainability and community ethos. We had a great experience working with the Sandtown Furniture team, who were communicative and helpful in figuring out what we could do with this space where there weren't a lot of previous examples to draw from!
We got so many positive comments on the venue from our guests and all our vendors were excited to be working there too. On the aesthetic side, it provides a lot of built-in visual interest with the weathered brick walls, the steel walls (which are magnetic and have a lot of decor possibility!), glass wall showing the woodshop equipment, the tree trunk displays, the "ruins" area in the back, the high ceilings, etc. We went with the add-on of having bistro lights hanging from the ceiling, which was definitely worth the money for the great ambience and beautiful reflections on the glass.
On a practical level, the space worked quite well for our event of approximately 140 people. The flow of guests arriving for the ceremony in the main space, then into the draped-off area for cocktail hour, and then back out for dinner and dancing was pretty quick and easy. The rooms at the back were great for gathering the wedding party and for storing our stuff. The valet service worked well for people driving and it was a quick and easy Uber/Lyft ride from Mt. Vernon where our hotels were.
My only tip for future brides would be to mind the Sandtown team's warning that the back part of the building is, of course, a real working woodshop that might have some dusty spots! I got lazy about watching my step and holding up my dress's train up and definitely tracked up some dirt when we were back there pre-ceremony -- but it was all part of the experience!

I could write a novel on how much I love The Butterfly Room, Will, Anna and all of the staff. I was their 2nd wedding that they hosted and I immediately saw the vision the moment I walked it. The building is STUNNING!! Anna and Will’s patience and flexibility with me was phenomenal and all of our guests are still talking about our wedding 8 months later. The industrial charm, the Ruins, the glass and steel wall, the bathrooms, the work stations- all to die for. The space is truly versatile and they allow you to use it however you see fit for YOUR vision to come to life. If you book here, you will not regret it. I wish I could re-live my wedding over and over. -

The moment we stepped foot into the Butterfly Room we knew we would get married there! As one of the first couples to book there, the space was not yet all that it is today and, even then, we knew it would be perfect for us. It’s the perfect blend of modern and industrial with all of the dreamy brick and windows that scream Baltimore to us. The venue team was incredibly helpful throughout - Anna answered every question along the way and the owners were supportive and excited for us. If you’re worried about holding your entire ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in the whole space, DON’T BE! It was large enough for our 150 guests to move from one part of the room to another all night long. The separate getting ready spaces are awesome and made it easy for our wedding party to get ready at the venue instead of the hotel. The “ruins” or back outdoor area were perfect for our first look photos. Truly can’t say enough about how much we loved the venue and meeting the incredible people who run it. We received many compliments from our guests about the space all night long! Enjoy your event at the Butterfly Room! -

Guests Loved the Venue
We got married at The Butterfly Room in October 2024, and it was absolutely amazing! We got tons of compliments on the venue, including their own beautiful wooden tables and bar set, and the unique industrial atmosphere with the wood shop in the back. Anna was a pleasure to work with and we really felt that she and her team helped us make sure we had a perfect day. -

absolutely incredible
Where do we even begin? The Butterfly Room and its incredible staff made all of our wedding dreams come true. First of all the space is absolutely stunning. The number of compliments we got on the space was insane. It is the perfect encapsulation of a Baltimore venue - rustic, charming, and historic. Everyone loved the high ceilings, the glass wall, the arched windows, the light. We also loved that they included valet parking so our guests who aren’t so city savvy didn’t have to worry about parking. There are so many cute little nooks that make this spacious area feel warm and cozy.
Now, the staff - we can’t thank them enough. The whole wedding process they went above and beyond to answer questions and help us connect with other vendors. They truly went out of their way to make our planning process easier. THEN CAME THE RAVENS AND THE SNOW. Who knew the Ravens would be playing a playoff game on a Saturday? The second the game was announced I received and email from Anna telling me not to worry, they had secured lots and were going to secure even more to make sure parking for our families was not an issue. Then it snowed the day before the wedding and I will tell you their staff was outside shoveling to clear out parking for us. My mom cried on the phone with gratitude more than once.
We have so many amazing things to say about this venue and are so happy it was the back drop to such a special day in our life. -

Killer party in the woodshop
We threw a party at The Butterfly Room last summer and it was absolutely incredible. We toured and booked the space during the renovation -- the finished Showroom exceeded expectations. For a rowdy group of 175, TBR was the perfect backdrop. 10/10 would party there again. -
