Great Wedding Photographer Especially for Newbies

Steve and his team are great to work with and extremely professional. We used Steve for our engagement shoot as well as for the photography and videography during our wedding at Malibu West Beach Club. I have to especially thank Steve for dealing with my sometimes difficult husband who would rather do anything (especially party at our wedding) but take photos. I even saw my husband at some point enjoying taking the photos and knowing how to pose in photos better than I could. Steve's directions were easy to follow and helped us leave our awkwardness out of the photos.

Also worth noting is that Steve was always available to answer questions or offer advice. He was also early to both shoots, and we were so thankful to have one less vendor to worry about. If you want a carefree photography/videography experience, I recommend The Brides and the Bees.

Magical moments

This was truly a remarkable and memorable few days of filming. The video truly captures our love for each other and will be something we can look back on forever. Steve is so professional in his work and is full of great ideas. He created something beautiful and made it just as we had asked. I’d also like to pay credit to Thereza. A magical experience

Amazing Experience from the start

Steve and his assistant Teresa were brilliant from the very beginning. They were fully engaged and talked through exactly what we wanted. We were not rushed at any point and they took their time to ensure every single detail was just perfect. I could not recommend them enough, especially if you're looking for that extra special reminder of your special day. I can't wait to see our finished production, I have every confidence it will be outstanding!

Best person to hire for your photography/video!

We hired Steve for our wedding. Steve and his crew is amazing. He did an amazing job with our photos/video. He made the experience awesome. We love the work he did and we can’t stop looking at all the photos! I would highly recommend to hire Steve for your wedding/event!

Steve was able to capture and preserve our daughter's wedding ceremony for the family members that were unable to attend. This was a gift. We were especially impressed because the venue (the gazebo at the Balboa Pier) was very loud, but he was able to filter out all of the background noises so that you could hear the ceremony. It was a very small/intimate gathering that had some hiccups and delays before the ceremony started. Steve worked side by side with the photographers (Moose Studio, who also referred us to Steve) to help us overcome the hiccups and honored the importance of the event in our lives. We traveled from Scottsdale and Phoenix for the event, and Steve was wonderful to work with in setting up the services in California, from Arizona. The video is a treasure to use and we would recommend Steve to anyone considering a videographer.

Thank you Steve! We are so thankful you were available to capture our elopement ceremony on video. It was so loud in the surrounding area and because of technical issues we didn’t have music, lights or the other plans working. It was very disappointing when our plans didn’t work out but you took our playlist and incorporated it into the video. You were also able to edit out all of the loud background sounds so that we could hear the ceremony. Our family members that were unable to come were able to enjoy a front row seat, as many times as they want. We are so thankful that Michaela from Moose Studio referred us to you. Thank you ❤️

Look no further, you have found your wedding videographer. Can't say enough about The Brides and the Bees. From our initial email exchange, Steve was incredibly professional, courteous, and informative. We knew from the quality of his video samples that he was more than qualified to capture our wedding. But furthermore, he and his assistant Sarah were also true professionals on the day, and completely pleasant in their interaction with us and our guests. They did an incredible job at capturing all the moments without being intrusive. Thoroughly wonderful! We would recommend them for any occasion.

I was very pleased with the professionalism and the quality of the product I received from The Brides and the Bees! I actually had kind of a unique situation because I had booked Steve to shoot my wedding, but a couple months before the wedding he called me to ask if it would be okay to substitute another videographer in his place, because he had something important come up. I was totally fine with this, and he still did all the video editing for me, and he completely handled the logistical side of this change. That is one of the reasons I'm giving him 5 stars! Even though things changed last minute, he took care of everything so I didn't have to worry at all! Also, I absolutely loved the final product. The video was beautiful and it perfectly captured the feel of my wedding and all the events that happened at the wedding.

We chose Steve for our engagement and wedding photos as well as videography services for our wedding day. He was so friendly when we first met him. We had never had a photography session before and he made us feel so comfortable and at ease! He provided us with great recommendations on scenery, locations, and many different poses and angles. We are so thrilled with the quality of our engagement and wedding pictures. Steve's team is very professional and the best at what they do - we would highly recommend them!

Simply Wonderful!!!

What wonderful people. Part of the joy of working with Steve and his team was that from the moment you met them, you could tell they absolutely loved what they do. The level of excitement that Steve or a member of his team (we worked with McKayla as well) would have simply from getting a great shot was unparalleled. Steve was the consummate professional and worked tirelessly to provide us with gorgeous, lasting memories for our engagement and wedding. His level of flexibility and availability astonished me. Looking back at the entire process, we could not imaging going with another photography company as they made the entire experience too easy and enjoyable. Their ability to capture both candid moments as well as moments that should be commemorated are as testament to their level of expertise. As an example, Steve grabbed us right at sunset and exclaimed that he needed to get pictures of us on the beach at sunset as they would be something we would cherish for the years to come.
Just as an aside, my wife, who hates being photographed, felt so at peace and loved the entire experience.
They were also very efficient. You realize how precious time is as a commodity during a wedding, and for your photographer to be able to capture all the moments you need remembered, and still allow you to enjoy your day is something that my wife and I only appreciated after reflecting on the day.

Steve and his assistant Michaela shot our wedding at the Malibu West Beach Club, and we couldn’t have been more pleased. From our very first interaction, Steve was professional, friendly, patient and accommodating. He was always very prompt in getting back to me via email or phone, and when we met in person for our engagement photo session (included free in his wedding packages!), he immediately set us at ease. I had been a bit nervous about it, but we ended up feeling like we were spending the day with a friend (who also happened to be taking some photos of us). On the day of the wedding, Steve was on time and professional but also very relaxed, making the photo shoots – which can sometimes be stressful – fun and easy. Several of our guests commented on how nice the photographers were, and how much fun the wedding party seemed to be having in our photo session on the beach. The photos themselves came out perfect – gorgeous but also very natural, which was just what we had asked for – and he got them back to us sooner than I was expecting! Always a nice surprise. ☺ All in all, working with Steve was an absolute pleasure, from the initial contact through the planning process, wedding, follow-up and photo delivery. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for beautiful, natural-looking photos and a photographer who can set you and your friends and family at ease on your wedding day.

We had a great experience with Steve. He is extremely professional and very easy to work with. He came through with video servies at the last minute too when we decided we wanted to add that to our package. We have not yet seen our wedding photos or video but the engagement photos that Steve did for us were great and I expect the wedding photos will be too.

Steve was absolutely awesome! I can't say enough about how great our video turned out. He put his heart into it and you could feel the emotion of the day. I cry every time I see the video, it is that great. The Brides and the Bees are a great choice for wedding videos!

I love love love my wedding pictures! The beach pictures came out perfect! We even had family photos, group pictures, dance floor pictures, ceremony pictures all I am very happy with everyone of them! We even had two photographers that went to take pictures of the men at another location that was great to see, other then the women getting ready! We also had our engagement photos done by Steve and they were also gorgeous! All & all very happy with the personal professional contact we had for the year prior! I already refer these photographers when I talk to anyone planning a wedding!

The Brides and the Bees were the best photographers that I have ever worked with!! They were fun, professional, had great ideas and really worked with what we wanted to do. My husband and I were not organized and didn't really know what we wanted until we got there. Steve was right there with suggestions on how to make everything go smoothly and look gorgeous. Our pictures are STUNNING. I couldn't be happier!! I plan on using only The Brides and the Bees for everything we might need in the future!! We fell in love with our engagement pictures taken by The Brides and the Bees and knew that we had to have them for our wedding! Best decision I made for our wedding!!! THANK YOU!!

My husband and I are so happy that we had Steve as our videographer. He was so professional and fun as well as his assistant Elise. They made us feel so comforable and relaxed I actually forgot he was filming . We just recieved our highlight video and it brought tears to my eyes. He totally captured our emotions from our day. Im so glad we chose him. He made us feel the day was just as important to him as it was to us . Such a pleasure. You wont regret hiring him and his team! Steve and his associate were amazing!!! My husband and I met with Steve before our wedding day and instantly we felt like we had known Steve for years. He wanted to get to know us more in order to give us a personalized video not just film( a super plus in our book). We loved his enthusiasm and the way that he makes every video different from the others. The day of the wedding Steve was on time, extremely helpful, and made us all feel so comfortable being filmed. I hardly noticed them... they are that good!!! I am so glad my friend recommended Steve to us and I would 100% recommend him to others. Steve and his associate are so easy to work with. We really loved working with Steve. He was very friendly and professional and easy to get along with, and his work was amazing! Our highlight video captured not just the important moments, but also the feel and emotions of the wedding. Together with his second videographer, Steve really made us feel comfortable and confident in our video and we are really happy we chose him.

We originally decided we didn't want a videographer since we thought our pictures would be sufficient enough but our friend Erika recommended the Brides and the Bees. We literally contacted Steve a week before the wedding and we were happy to know June 21st was the only opening available.

Steve was quick to respond to our email and was willing to work with us on such short notice. Steve was very professional and explained what the video would consist of, which were the most important events of the wedding. I know The Brides and the Bees did an exceptional job from viewing a prior friends video and can't wait to see the final edited video. It's something we will cherish forever!

Steve is absolutely amazing! From our first mtg with him I knew instantly that he was the right guy for us to pick not only because I knew I could trust him to capture our wedding memories into a beautiful film but because I instantly felt comfortable around him and knew that he was someone I would want to be a part of our special day. He went above and beyond, he is so passionate about his work! He suggested a beautiful location near our wedding venue that we could easily get to and take video and pics during our cocktail hour and they are my favorite moments from the day and now it's another spot my husband and I can revisit anytime and think of our wedding.

The Brides and the Bees were one of our favorite vendors to work with! When I first started researching photography & videography vendors, I was looking for someone I could trust, that would capture the most important day for us and I found that in Steve. From our first meeting, we immediately felt that Steve was a genuine, fun, professional person, who made us feel comfortable and was just as excited as we were with our wedding ideas. Steve was in constant communication with us, through emails and meetings and flexible with our schedules. For engagement photo session, he was able to capture our theme and gave us some pointers on how to pose, in anticipation of all the posing we would do, the day of the wedding. On the day of the wedding, Steve's photo and video crew were there bright and early setting up, following our every move. I have to give them lots of credit for all the running around they did, the day of my wedding, because my venue was like a giant maze. Our wedding highlights video was amazing!!!!! Our photos were just beautiful, and he was able to capture all the wonderful moments of our special day. We highly recommend the BRIDES AND THE BEES and we will admit that we will miss working with Steve.

Steve and his crew were our favorite vendor — they were professional, talented, fun, and incredibly organized. They will make you feel make you feel comfortable and make you laugh, which makes for great photos. Steve also helped walk us through the hectic wedding day and never left our side. He will capture all the beautiful moments of your wedding and put them together in an overwhelmingly beautiful package so you can remember them always. I honestly don't have one negative thing to say about him — he is absolutely the best.

Steve had the creative eye to capture all the shots we wanted. The photos told the story of our whole event, so now we will have those memories for the rest of our lives. He was always prompt in his responses, as well as transparent with financing. I always knew exactly what things were going to cost, and where my money went. He was very flexible with timing, locations, and we really valued the engagement photo session to get comfortable with a camera watching our every move. He was able to capture our fun and playful sides with just as much poignancy as the serious/traditional poses. We would recommend The Brides and the Bees to anyone we liked. :)

I am so very glad we went with The Brides and the Bees. Steve is great and so was his assistant Amanda! Steve met with us one on one before we ever decided on a photographer to see if we meshed well; which I was very appreciative of. We were taken by how well our personalities meshed and that he seemed like a very professional, kind, and relaxed photographer. We were right. Steve met with us a few times before the wedding and spoke with us several times via phone and e-mail to keep the line of communication free flowing as time lead up to the wedding day. Any questions we had he answered right away. Steve and Amanda showed up on the agreed time, were dressed professionally, and started working the moment they got there. For the wedding day Steve had a guideline of shots he wanted to get and took any requests we made of specific shots we wanted as well. They made taking pictures fun and not a chore and we really had a great time with them. After the wedding Steve pulled together a gallery where we had the chance to look at all of our photos. We are blown away at how beautifully everything turned out. The talent is superb. All of our friends and family that have seen the photos have been amazed with the shots. We can’t wait to get the DVD of the photos in the mail!! Between Steve’s eyes for a beautifully composed shot and keen sense of journalistic photography, our gallery of photos have a wonderful well rounded style to them.

The Brides and the Bees were amazing! They captured every planned moment, but more importantly every candid moment that was important. The quality of their work goes beyond most videographers I have met and seen in action. The end result of their work captured our big day and we re-live it every time we watch! 3 things make or break your wedding! DJ/Ent, Photographer, and most importantly a videographer!! Don't take a chance with a super cheap price or even the most expensive person. These guys are fair, and their product they deliver is AMAZING!!

Steve was great from the get-go! This is the first time my husband and I have ever taken professional photographs and he made us feel totally comfortable with the camera! He was the only vendor that kept checking in on the status of the wedding and even set up meetings close to where we live to go over wedding day plans! Steve took our engagement session and we liked them so much we were able to use them at our wedding! The day of the wedding they were on time and did an amazing job - we ran into some bad weather, but they were able to take great photos!! We couldn't have asked for anything more!!

Steve did an amazing job at my wedding. He is such a great guy, super fun to work with, really on the ball and responsive. Everything you would want your wedding day photographer to be. Couldn't recommend him enough!

If you are looking for a photographer I would stop here and hire Steve !

The only thing to say about the Brides and the Bees is... WOW. My husband and I were so unbelieveably impressed with Steve and Alex. Not only were they there every step of the way, but the footage they got of our wedding was priceless. Honestly, for those of you that don't think you need a videographer. Think again. Our wedding flew by before our eyes and we were so over-stimulated that there were so many moments that seemed like a blur. When I watched the footage we got back, it was like we went to our wedding all over again. The thing that is great about Brides and the Bees, is the footage is not cheesy. It's done like an epic film. From the wedding highlight video, which brought us to tears, to our special flash mob video posted online, to our awesome engagement music video, to our finished product: a gorgeous photo mounted 2 disc DVD set. WE are beyond impressed. IN fact, my husband and I were talking about having the brides and the bees film every major moment and event in our lives, because the footage is so priceless. I referred them to a couple friends too and all of them feel the same! And they worked really well with my wedding coordinator and photographers, which is really important too. I can go on on and on about these guys, but truthfully, stop right here. You found your videographer. Brides and the bees are the best!

The Brides and the Bees, WOW!!! they did an amazing job on my wedding video, the highlights, in addition their professionalism, punctuality, they really know what they are doing, my entire bridal party and I felt really comfortable with them. They just know how to capture those special moments on that very special day, I can't thank them enough, they made my wedding day an unforgettable one!!! Steve and his partner, got talent no doubt, they enjoy what they do and they are good at it!

We were referred to The Brides and the Bees by our friends, and they are completely awesome. They're great at what they do -- shooting and editing -- and are also great guys. Friendly, smart, professional and extremely creative. They’re pros all the way around.

They voluntarily stayed hours longer than they were required to in our contract, and got great footage the whole night. The highlight video they cut together was amazing. It perfectly encapsulated the tone and atmosphere of the event. Loud, funny, drunk with moments of sweetness mixed in: just the way we like it. Everyone I talk to has watched it multiple times. They're also great at capturing real moments. You never know when they're taping you, so they are able to sneak in and get some genuine emotion that doesn’t feel forced. We dragged our feet on picking a song to set the footage to, and Steve chose one for us and it turned out to be better than anything we would have chosen.

I never give anything five stars, but Brides and Bees is top-notch all the way around. A pleasure to work with, full of great ideas and really smart and great at what they do.

I will continue to recommend them to anyone who will listen. And I would definitely work with them again; although I'm hoping I don't ever have a reason to have another wedding. I’m pretty sure they could shoot any event and make it look like a million bucks. I’m a TV producer, and I feel like they'd do great behind-the-scenes coverage on a TV or film set, so maybe that's a way to hang out with them again without an expensive divorce.

Steve is very flexible and patient.
I had so many questions and comments and he really made my husband and I feel more comfortable with spending thousands on a wedding video :)
