I had my bridal shower at Bonaventure Country Club in January of 2017. I picked the spot because it was convenient to my home and in a great neighborhood, once my shower day came I realized it was so much more than that! Right from the start the view when you walk in is beautiful. The large windows make the room feel so open and refreshing. The staff is very helpful and went above and beyond what we expected. I highly recccomend Bonaventure for your shower, rehearsal dinner or wedding.

Skip was wonderful! Very flexible and food was delicious! The environment was inviting and staff helpful. I have definitely recommended to friends. Actually have a colleague that is getting married there as well.

My wedding was amazing!!! Patty and Desiree made sure everything I needed was taken care of. All my guest loved the food. I've been told by many how professional the staff was. I couldn't have asked for better. Definitely using them to host all future events. :-)

It was very important that we find a location central to our family and friends as we weren't inviting many people who would have had to travel a great distance. The Bonaventure Country Club is such a beautiful and serene location, and the food is quite good, so we booked our wedding there! Thank you SO much for hosting us at your beautiful facilities!

We had our wedding at the Bonaventure Country Club I have also thrown a birthday party at this venue. I am a repeat customer and I recommend them to my friends for their events. Patty, Omar and the staff were a pleasure to work with. They were professional, attentive, and so much fun. I feel like they take a personal interest in making my events the best. The venue is beautiful and great for pictures, the food is delicious, and the staff is great.

If you are looking for a beautiful ceremony space, the outside gazebo is perfect. The view was amazing and all my guest kept raving about how good the food was. I was very disappointed in a few things.
1. I had requested in every before the wedding meeting that the curtains should be kept open that I did not want them closed due to it looking to old inside and all night they were kept closed. My photographer said the curtains ruined the backdrop for my pictures and they looked junky.
2. I did not cut my wedding cake, I even had a song picked out with the DJ and when I turned around my cake was being passed out.
3. My wedding planner Patti guaranteed me that Bonaventure only holds one event a night so that way which ever the event was would get their full attention and if it were to rain, we could move the ceremony inside to the second ball room as a back up plan ( That was the main reason we chose this venue because they had a back up plan and we planned out getting married outside) There was another large party going on in the room right next door and I was barely able to locate my planner all night because she was attending the other event. Thank god it did not rain because my ceremony would have been ruined.
4. There are beautiful marble pavers outside on the patio and they were all uneven and unbalanced. We stumbled on them during the wedding rehearsal and we were assured that they would be fixed by the time of the wedding. My flower girl fell on her face and my bridesmaid slipped because they were not fixed.
5. There were not enough seats set up outside in the ceremony space which made no sense because there was plenty of room. About 35 of my guest had to stand and sit up in the cocktail area chairs so they could see the ceremony because there was no where else for them to sit.
7. Cocktail hour was beautiful outside on the patio but there was defiantly not enough space for everyone. My guests complained that they felt crammed in and could not move.

Overall our experience with the Bonaventure was what I would say is just good. We didn't have many issues, it just wasn't amazing or above and beyond. They answered questions that we asked, but didn't go out of their way. Also, mid-way through planning they were bought out by the resort adjacent, so that threw a bit of a wrench as well. Nikki from the hotel was great to work with, and we loved having her help! If she is the one to help with the country club in the future, I think it will be a great advantage.

I give the STAFF of the Bonaventure Golf Club an Excellent rating.That said, our problem was with the point person, the Manager. From the start, Mr. Skip wasn't very accommodating & his demeanor bordered on being almost condescending. As it was on out of town wedding, we didn’t have the luxury of time to scout for other places.When we booked the reception area we had no idea that we would only be given less than 3 hrs before the event itself to decorate.We asked permission from Mr. Skip if it would be possible for us to decorate earlier than the time allowed given that those decorating are part of the wedding entourage. He said that the 3 hours prior the event was the best that he could do since he scheduled activities for the place before our event. In my opinion, a wedding reception, which I think is a major event, should be given preference or at least a leeway in the time for decorating. I usually like to think of the best of people but it was our observation that Mr. Skip was a little bit prejudiced over us. I enlisted my brother-in-law's help to speak on our behalf as I was already stressed out.He finally gave in & said we could decorate early on the day of the event at 7:30AM. On said day, my friends/wedding coordinator were there at the designated time but no sign of the Mgr. The other staff were there but have no idea of the request we made with Mr. Skip, which he granted. They could'nt start with the table set up since the linens were still with him. I was told he came in past 10AM & no effort was made at all to update anyone on how late he would be.That time delay affected the entire entourage & didn’t leave us enough time to do the photo shoot. Our DJ was told also that the Confetti & Ice Cloud couldn't be used after the 1st dance as he wasn't informed of that. The DJ was surprised since he has performed there many times and was previously allowed.Kindly call the attention of Mr. Skip as he is doing a poor job representing your club.
