Tomas is more than a photographer. He's a listener, a visionary, a wedding partner, and ultimately acts as an esteemed creative director when shooting couples. I had the pleasure of shooting with Tomas three times: Engagement shoot in a restaurant and on the streets of LA, at our welcome party in a venue and on our wedding day. Tomas is thorough, always there for the bride and groom, and has an eye that can bring couples portraits to life with an energetic or demure elegance. He scales candids to editorial in ways that work the space and edits his shots in ways that make the details pop tastefully. Whichever your approach to couples wedding photography, I can emphatically recommend and attest to Tomas' unique ability to set the scene, incorporate low-level-of-effort props or environmental props, and shoot his vision. Tomas worked with us, our budgets and offered packages that just made sense in a wedding world where these things became so overwhelming. He was a bright spot, and a guaranteed 'win' in the wedding planning journey pre, during and post event. -

Words can’t fully express how incredible our experience was working with Tomas as our wedding photographer. My wife and I feel incredibly grateful that he was there to capture our big day last month.
From the moment we started searching for a photographer, we knew this would be one of the most critical decisions for our wedding. After researching and interviewing several top photographers in our area, we noticed that The Big Affair was one of Bel-Air Bay Club’s preferred vendors—and it quickly became clear why. When we reviewed a few full galleries of weddings Tomas shot at our venue, we immediately fell in love with his elegant, timeless style. He has an incredible ability to blend traditional, editorial, photojournalistic, and moody styles in a way that captures all the key moments and emotions of the day.
However, beyond beautiful photographs, having a genuine connection with our photographer was essential to us—and this is where Tomas truly stood out. From our first conversation, he was genuinely interested in getting to know us and gave us a clear sense of what it would be like to work with him. As a photography enthusiast, I had many technical and gear-related questions, which Tomas was happy to discuss. While the best equipment alone doesn’t guarantee great results, knowing that Tomas was equipped with top-tier gear gave us extra peace of mind—especially since we planned on ordering large canvas prints, where ultra-high-resolution images are key. We were initially concerned that Tomas might be out of our budget based on his quote, but he went above and beyond, creating a custom package that included everything we wanted while staying within our budget.
Our engagement shoot with Tomas was our first real test in front of the camera, and we were a bit nervous since posing isn’t something we’re used to. Tomas gave us just the right amount of guidance, helping us feel comfortable and confident. By the end, what started as an nerve-wracking experience became a genuinely fun and memorable one—we were actually a little sad when the session ended! Tomas even kept shooting until the very last moment, well after the location’s security asked us to wrap up. When we received the photos, we were absolutely blown away by the results, and so were our friends and family—some even wondered if we’d secretly eloped!
On our wedding day, Tomas and his second photographer, Brian, were amazing to work with. They made us feel like VIPs while capturing every important moment. Tomas’s attention to detail was remarkable, whether it was waiting for the right light during family group shots or stepping in to guide other vendors. His assertive yet calm leadership made it feel like we had an extra coordinator helping us along the way.
In summary, my wife and I wholeheartedly recommend Tomas for any couple looking for an exceptional photographer, especially for engagements and weddings. Tomas didn’t just take pictures—he told the story of our wedding in the most beautiful way possible. Our wedding day flew by, but thanks to Tomas, we have hundreds of stunning images that allow us to relive it whenever we want. -

Tomas was part of our engagement shoot and wedding in April 2024. Tomas and his team were not only a master behind the camera but also a true professional. The whole team made us feel at ease, maintained a friendly and approachable demeanor, and were just so fun to be around! From start to finish, Tomas was a pleasure to have around, from putting everyone at ease whilst photographing the buildup to our big moment.
We just received our wedding photos, and we are blown away by the level of craftsmanship and artistry. I can't say enough good things about Tomas himself, his vision, and his amazing work. It's nerve-racking hiring a photographer for one of the most important days of your life-so I'm telling you, hire Tomas!! He's not only the kindest soul, but he has such an incredible vision and notices such small details that your mind is blown when he shows you the photos. HIGHLY recommend The Big Affair! Tomas absolutely blew us away with both our wedding and engagement photoshoots. From the moment we met Tomas he ensured we felt comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. My husband and I hadn't done a shoot together before but Tomas patiently guided us through different poses to find our groove, and boy did it pay off in the end photos! His attention to detail, creative eye, and dedication to getting "the shot" is second to none. Not only do we have so many great photos to choose from but working with Tomas was an absolute dream. He is a kindhearted and fun person that I hope to have the pleasure of working with again. Would give him 10 stars if I could. Thank you Tomas! -

We chose Tomas at The Big Affair for our wedding photography and we couldn’t be happier with our choice! Our photos are absolutely stunning, and he captured so many beautiful moments in the day that we otherwise wouldn’t have seen. The pictures are timeless and classic, and we know we will love them forever. Not only is he such a talented photographer, but Tomas is super kind, helpful and has been a pleasure to work with during the full wedding planning process. Best Photographer EVER
Tomas is fantastic!!! From the beginning, the whole process was easy and comfortable. He also didn't try to upsell me, which I really appreciate. I did a lot of research before booking and his prices were reasonable and his photos are AMAZING!!! At the end of the day, the photos are what you take away from your wedding (other than your marriage, of course) so it's important to pick a great photographer and no one is better than Tomas. I love love love the photos and I'm so happy we went with him. I'm sure he books up super fast so book him now!! -

One word. Magical! Words cannot express how truly amazing and wonderful it was working with Tomas. Not only is his work a masterpiece, he's an absolute gem to work with.
I've always dreamed of what my wedding would look like as a kid and Tomas captured my vision beautifully. Let me just say that I interviewed all of the top photographers in LA and OC and Tomas' work shined brightly among everyone else's. He's the kindest, most professional and talented photographer I've ever met and worked with. His work speaks for itself and we couldn't be happier with how our wedding pictures turned out. If you're looking for a photographer that will capture beautiful memories, he's right here.
On our wedding day, he was so gentle and yet direct that everyone adored him. He'll get you exactly what you want with a beautiful smile on his face. I tend to be camera shy and he did a great job directing me on how to pose. Our wedding was a dream and I cannot thank Tomas enough for being present to capture our beautiful moments. These are all core memories! I HIGHLY recommend Tomas for your wedding or any event that needs to be captured. He was well-loved among the guests and everyone was in awe of his work! I would get married again (to the same man) just to have an excuse to have him take more pictures! Do yourself a favor and book Tomas. Best Photographer You Could Hire!
We could not recommend Tomas enough! He is kind, funny and amazingly talented - definitely one of the best choices we made for our big day! The first time we met Tomas to discuss hiring him for our wedding, he made us feel comfortable and at ease. He took the time to get to know us as a couple which helped in capturing photos that really showcased us as a couple. If you look at Tomas' website you can see this as each couples' photos are uniquely beautiful and reflective of their personalities and relationship. For our engagement photoshoot we went to the beach in Malibu and this was when we really got to see Tomas' talent and artistry shine through. He made the photoshoot fun and completely eased the nerves we had about being a bit out of our element. Additionally, he was creative and meticulous about getting the best poses, angles, lighting, etc., even if it meant our shoot went a bit longer than the contracted time. And while he was happy to make suggestions, he also made sure to check with us on the types of shots and mood we wanted for our photos. When we received the photos (very quickly we might add), we were blown away! He delivered so many amazing pictures it was impossible to choose our favorites and somehow managed to make what was a crowded beach look empty. On our wedding day, we were so excited to work with Tomas knowing he would capture the best day of our lives beautifully and uniquely. He arrived early to the venue and got to work immediately, capturing every detail and moment perfectly. Something we particularly loved about Tomas' work was his attention both to us as the couple, but also to our friends and family. Seeing the happiness and love shared not just between us, but all of our loved ones is priceless and these pictures will be cherished forever. They have already allowed us to relive the best day of our lives in such spectacular quality and detail numerous times. We would also like to add that we had countless family members and friends tell us how much they liked working with Tomas and how impressed they were with his talent and detail. It was hands down our best photoshoot experience ever! Tomas is not only a talented photographer but very sweet and kind person! We had our first photoshoot with Tomas for our engagement. Neither of us had much experience in doing photoshoots but Tomas was able to effortlessly guide us through what we needed to do. In the end our pictures turned out better than we could have imagined. We knew we are in good hands when Tomas did our wedding photoshoot. Tomas went above and beyond to make sure he captures every detail of our big day. It was so organized, thought through, and enjoyable photoshoot with amazing pictures that we will cherish for years! We definitely recommend Tomas and his team to all couples searching for a highly skilled photography company that truly invests in their clients and cares about making lasting memories as much as the bride and groom does. Tomas was incredible. He was thorough and detail-oriented yet very accommodating and willing to incorporate our feedback. The shots he took on our wedding day were exquisite -- no possible way that anyone could have done a better job. From family shots to action shots and detail (setup) photos, we were 1000% satisfied. He has a great eye for lighting and what will look great in a photo, and he also knows all the right shots to take to make sure we have a holistic encapsulation of the day. His assistants on the day of were high quality as well.
Highly recommend also doing an engagement shoot with Tomas, as it helped break the ice and mutually learn our photo preferences. -

Simply the best!
Tomas was beyond amazing, he is extremely professional yet he tries to make you feel at home when you're working with him. He was very pleasent from the beginning to the end. It doesn't get better than this he is a TOP NOTCH Photographer combined with a very warm friendly heart. We would work with him in the future and I don't see why you wouldn't want to as well :) -

Look no further for your wedding/engagement/event photographer! Tomas is a true artist and the best of the best. My fiance and I hired Tomas for our wedding next year after we had the most incredible engagement shoot with him. Not only did we love the photos, but we thoroughly enjoyed working with him and our time spent together. He is professional, engaging, kind, and genuinely cares about the couples he works with. We have stayed in close contact with him and truly feel like he's more of a friend than a vendor! We can't wait for Tomas to shoot our wedding in 2021 and recommend you book him sooner than later! -

A dream come true
I have really been looking forward to writing this review. From the first time me and my husband met Tomas we knew that we had found the perfect photographer.
He was extremely professional, very accommodating, and understood the exact vision we had for our wedding day.
We booked him a year in advance and greatly appreciated him keeping in contact with us the entire year leading up to our big day! We appreciated the fact he continously checked in on us before the wedding and after.
Let me get to it, the big day! He came in right on time with all his beautiful equipment, great big smile and had the best personality. From the moment he started, till the very end he was taking endless photos and guiding us every step.
We felt so comfortable with him, like we could just be ourselves. Also, I don't want to forget about his assistant who was amazing, and perfect to have.
As Tomas was making sure to capture all the beautiful moments, his assistant continously helped makesure every detail was perfect! They were such a great team together. I truly hope they know how much they completed our special day.
Tomas has a one of a kind eye, the way he shoots his work is just impeccable. Now time to talk about our wedding gallery! We received them with a beautiful setup. He put together an amazing assortment for us to choose from. We could tell that each photo he placed in our gallery was specially chosen.
I have to say anyone that is able to experience his work is so lucky.
I was beyond blown away! He captured every single moment of our day BEAUTIFULLY. His work is truly just....Amazing. -

Choose Tomas!
There are so many photographers out there, it’s so hard to choose after looking through dozens of portfolios, internet searches, and scrolling through Instagram. I was about to go with another photographer, but then got an email that I had a won a contest I entered for a free engagement shoot with The Big Affair. I checked out Tomas’ portfolio and I was blown away by the quality. However, I wasn’t sure I could afford him. Tomas was generous enough to try to work within my budget.
I knew when I got my engagement pics back that I had made the right decision hiring Tomas. They weren’t too staged or stiff. I previously had done a quick shoot with a photographer in Italy right after my then fiancé proposed, and Tomas’ pictures blew those ones out of the water.
I also had a very unique situation of having two weddings. A traditional Indian one and and and American one. The pictures for my events exceeded my expectations.
Tomas even recommended another photographer for one of my Indian events that was more in my price range so that I could have that event captured. That was extremely helpful.
He was great at working with my family, friends and bridal party. He captured so much emotion and love on those days and I will be forever grateful to have those beautiful memories to cherish for a lifetime.
Tomas was quick to get my photos back to me. He is so talented, and not to mention a lovely person. I have no doubt I will be calling him again when I want to have a maternity shoot done. If you are considering booking Tomas, please do not hesitate. I know it’s a huge decision but Tomas was my favorite vendor and I would recommend him in a heartbeat! -

Je Sent on 03/26/2018My wife and I have looked at many photographers and vendors, and The Big Affair caught our eyes instantly (note, my mother is a professional photographer, and my wife and I are keen in observing photography). After reviewing his samples, we decided to go with him without hesitation. Tomas has been very kind to follow our stories, and he really tried to get to know us personally. He was very easy to work with, and has a calming effect on us and we didn't have a single doubt or worry about the photo, before and during the ceremony; we were able to be ourselves, have fun, enjoy the moment, and focus on building our memory. I think working with Tomas was part of the memory of our wedding. He was genuinely wanting our happiness. The reason I emphasize Tomas's personality is because the artist's perspective of the object really determines how his/her work will be portrayed. He did comment constantly that we are cute and beautiful couples, and the work showed itself as such. His photos portrayed ourselves, BETTER THAN how I imagined the best view of ourselves! The photo-journalistic style caught every moment in a natural way, and the photos do not look staged at all. The photos really capture our PERSONALITY: my playfulness, my wife's bashfulness, my father-in-law's quiet and gentle love, mine and wife's mothers exuberance.. THEY ARE ALL THERE. We did not use a videographer, but the photographs have captured all the memories/stories and tells the stories themselves, that we do not regret not having the videos really! We absolutely love Tomas, and choosing him as our photographer was the best decision we've made for our wedding planning. GET HIM as your photographer while you can!!

I talked to a lot of photraphers and ended up hiring him because the quality of his portfolio pictures was top notch and he was very easy going and friendly in person. I got a really good vibe from talking to him and felt like he was going to do a great job for us.
I hesitently opted for the engagement shoot and even though I wasn't sure about it, I ended up being extremely happy the decision. The engagement shoot was the perfect trial run for the big day and we got to feel very comfortable around him, which made our wedding day a breeze. As soon as we got our shots back I knew we had the right guy, they were absolutely beautiful.
Tomas' wedding day photography was even better, if that is even possible. He worked tirelessly, well into the the evening and captured just about everything. It was astonishing just how many great shots he got... the bridal party, our families, the ceremony, the reception, the detail shots, the candids, the dancing. He seemed to capture everything and the quality was jaw dropping. I am assuredly biased but, the best shots were of myself and my bride... they will truly be treasured forever.
I wholeheartedly recommend you trust Tomas with photography on your big day. No vintage filters, or phony overexposed/washed out shots, just gorgeous pictures taken with the nuance, patience and skill of a true professional. -
