The Best Wedding Venue in Birmingham

The Barn at Shady Lane is perfect for any bride because the space is so versatile. They have such a great venue to host indoor and/or outdoor events. Our wedding day ended up being cold and rainy, but it didn’t matter because the indoor space was perfect for accommodating our guests. We loved that there was a bridal suite, but also an entire house on the property for the groomsmen to hang out in. The space is completely handicapped accessible, which was very important to us. There are so many great places on the property to take photos, even if it’s raining! The cherry on top of everything is the couple that owns the venue. Michael and Linda Adler were such a pleasure to work with, and they were so accommodating. They are so organized and have “the flip” down to a science. We are so glad we’re a Shady Lane Couple!

Extremely friendly people and so clean and organized!!

Our daughter was married this weekend at “The Barn at Shadey Lane” and the first person who welcomed me was the owner Michael . His joyful smile was a warm welcome and his fist words were “ welcome! We are here to help.. just let us know what we can do…”And he went back to making sure it was a magical place. His wife -Linda is so happy and helpful and I when I explained my husband is in a wheelchair she was all about making sure he was going to be comfortable. It was a beautiful evening with lots of celebrating and this is a venue I will talk about for years to come!!

The Perfect Setting

Easy to reserve this venue. Linda provided clear communication through the year and we had access all day to setup and prepare. Comfortably accommodated 120 guests. Grooms cottage is large. Bridal suite is cozy.

Daughter’s Wedding

The Barn at Shady Lane exceeded all my expectations. Linda never made me feel like I was calling too much asking questions, and I really appreciated that. The flip was a huge success. And she told me beforehand that even though it was a July wedding, they had air conditioning that would keep us comfortable. I have to admit that I doubted, but she was right. Thank you Linda and staff of The Barn at Shady Lane!

The Barn at Shady Lane is the best!

We couldn't be happier that we chose The Barn at Shady Lane for our daughter's wedding reception! From the first contact we had with them, until the end of the reception, Linda and her team were great to work with. It. is so evident that Linda loves what she does and genuinely gets so excited about your event. We had a large wedding and the space was more than accommodating for the reception. Every space is so thought out and perfect - from the bride's loft to the groom's cottage, the space for catering, the bar area, the porches, and especially the beautiful outside areas for perfect sunset pictures, The Barn at Shady Lane has it all. We couldn't recommend it higher!

The most amazing day of my life!!

Mike and Linda, along with my wedding planner, helped make my wedding day worry and stress free! Everything was perfect and i can’t stress enough that I made the right decision to have my wedding at The Barn at Shady Lane!!!

Positively Perfect in Every Way!

Shady Lane is THE place you want to book for your wedding. Michael, Linda, and the rest of their team do it right and do it perfectly every time. They have created amazing spaces for ceremonies, receptions, and photo opportunities. The Bride's loft and Groom's cottage are the perfect spaces for preparing for your wedding day and are beautifully appointed. I cannot say enough good things about Shady Lane.

The Barn at Shady Lane is absolutely wonderful

We couldn’t think of a better place to have gotten married. The Barn at Shady Lane was absolutely wonderful! The Adlers were a dream to work with and the venue is beautiful. The areas to get ready were spacious, and they did a wonderful job quickly flipping the room between the ceremony and reception. The Barn at Shady Lane will always hold a special place in our hearts.

An amazing venue!

The Barn is such a great venue! All our guests loved it and complimented on how beautiful it was. Linda and Michael were super easy to work with. They gave us lots of references and really helped make our day special! Would highly recommend!

Owners are wonderful!

Linda is amazing to work with! She is so responsive and wants your day to be perfect. All the requirements they have are there for a reason and she let me come look at the barn as many times as I wanted to. The spaces to get ready were gorgeous and functional. My only “complaint” is that the flip and cleanup was a bit rushed, but that is what they are known for (and my centerpieces were a bit more complicated than normal so that’s really on me), and they had a wedding the following day so I understand wanting everything to be clean and perfect for their next clients. Highly recommend this venue! It’s gorgeous and the newly painted cream walls are a great new addition.

Beautiful venue with incredible owners!!

We could go on and on about how incredible The Barn at Shady Lane is!! Both their outdoor and indoor ceremony options were built with weddings in mind, and offer a wonderful weather plan for peace of mind. Their new back patio extension was everyone's favorite. Linda and Michael were flexible and patient with us throughout the uncertainties of the COVID season, and were professional to work with. Every detail of their venue was carefully thought out from the bridal loft, to the groom's house, the details of the barn, and on-site parking. We are so thankful that we were able to have TWO wedding days with them. They are beautiful people to work with and truly love what they do!!

OUTSTANDING venue, owners, and staff!!!

Everything was perfect!!! The owners and their crew are amazing and super sweet. They had everything flipped from the ceremony to the reception in no time. Very efficient and professional people!!! Best Day of my Life

Michael and Linda made sure that everything about the venue looked and felt perfect for our wedding day. My wife and I didn't have to worry about a thing. They even made sure to monitor the driveway for late arrivals and halt them so they wouldn't disturb the ceremony. Can't recommend the Barn at Shady Lane enough.

The Barn at Shady Lane was beyond my wildest dreams for a wedding venue. They are so sweet and made sure we had everything we needed for our big day. It was a gorgeous venue inside and out! It had everything we wanted and more. Will definitely be suggesting this to anyone looking for a venue.

The the Barn at Shady Lane is by far one of the best venues in Birmingham. The only word I could use to describe our experience is wonderful. The Adler’s are so amazing and super helpful, and they will do anything to make your day perfect. Our wedding went off without a hitch and the day was amazing!

Most Magical Day of my LIFE!

My husband and I got married on the most beautiful day in September at The Barn at Shady Lane. During the process of planning, I never had any worry about the venue or whether or not my expectations would not be met. Even to this day, I am blown away at the quality of service and how above and beyond Michael and Linda go to make each day special for every bride. Get married here and I guarantee it will be MAGICAL!

Ceremony/Reception Venue

The Barn at Shady Lane was INCREDIBLE!! Linda and Michael were so sweet and so involved in every step of the planning process! Linda had so many amazing ideas and honestly just wanted to make our day one to remember! I knew that they were going to handle anything and everything! The venue itself, without any decorations, was absolutely stunning!! I loved every minute of our wedding day and The Barn at Shady Lane played such a huge role in making our day perfect!!!!

Absolutely Wonderful!

My wedding at The Barn at Shady Lane was nothing short of amazing! The Barn was absolutely beautiful and gives a rustic elegance vibe. Our guests were in awe of the gorgeous venue. Our ceremony and reception took place inside the barn and we were a little uneasy about the “flip” and the time it would take to transition. The “flip” went SO smoothly and quickly all thanks to Michael & Linda Adler, and their wonderful team!! The Adler’s are great at communicating and help to work out every detail to the best of their ability to make sure your day is perfect! I cannot say enough great things about this venue and their team!

Dream wedding in every way!

Cannot day enough great things about Shady Lane. My wedding was in October and was absolutely gorgeous and everything I dreamed of. Michael and Linda were wonderful to work with and made the planning experience easy and fun. Wish I could relive that special day at such a special place!

The Barn at Shady Lane is such an amazing venue! It is absolutely beautiful and the Alders are such sweet people and so wonderful to work with! The land around the barn is perfect for pictures and the inside is gorgeous all on its own. All of our guests raved about the simplicity and beauty of the venue. It was the perfect size to hold all 275 of our guests for our ceremony and then when it was flipped for our reception there was still ample room for everyone with a band and a dance floor. The staff at the barn are so helpful and they helped make our wedding day an absolute dream!! We would recommend this venue time and time again!

I could not have dreamed up how perfect the Barn at Shady Lane was for our wedding reception. I fell in love with the venue during our first walk through and knew that it was the place I wanted our reception to be. We had close to 450 guests and the Adlers were truly AMAZING to work with, they were so accommodating not only to us but all of our guests! My husband and I have gotten so may compliments on how nice the barn was and how smoothly our reception seemed to flow. My family and my husbands family can not thank Mr. Michael and Mrs. Linda enough for making our wedding reception truly magical. The Adlers went above and beyond with every little thing that we needed and they were there to help at all stages of the planning process! I would highly recommend this place for any event!!

Having my wedding day at the Barn at Shady Lane was truly the most wonderful experience any bride could ever ask for. From Michael and Linda Adlers involvement, genuine love and support, and overall engagement with the entire day, it couldn’t have been more perfect. The venue itself was spectacular. Every little detail came together in creating the most breathtaking place to exchange vows, cry happy tears, and dance the night away. From the band, large dance floor, beautiful extended patio, and bridal loft, there was more than enough room to relax and dance with family and friends for hours. From the moment I arrived, to the moment I departed with my new husband, every moment was perfect and truly front the Lord. He was present at every moment and it was truly breathtaking!

The Barn at Shady Lane could not have been more perfect for our August ceremony and reception. The Adler's were so wonderful to work with. They were always quick in getting back to me and were available to help with every aspect. They were flexible in working with me when we had some time changes for bridal portraits. I knew throughout our engagement that we were in good hands working with the Adler's and the Barn.

The Barn at Shady Lane is the perfect place for anyone to get married! They took care of everything on the day of the wedding and we didn’t have to worry about clean up or set up which was a huge relief. Linda always responded to any text in a timely manner and was always willing to answer any questions and help us in any way that she could. The venue is beautiful whether you get married inside or outside. The Barn was plenty big for my 275 guests and the patio is absolutely beautiful. Linda and Michael were among the most fabulous vendors we dealt with in our wedding planning. They were so sweet and personable at every turn, and from an accommodation and professionalism perspective we couldn't have asked for more. The astronomical building and service quality mixed with the warm and non-corporate vibe of our experience at the Barn made us feel really lucky, as we didn't really know that much until after we hurriedly selected the venue.

The one tiny thing that was tough was - administratively and NOT cost wise - dealing with all the innumerable feeling add-ons. I think every place probably does this but I also think an all inclusive rate would have been nice and we would have paid it!

This venue is great and fills up fast. If you are fortunate enough to get a date your day will be great.

Michael and Linda are the best to work with! I was supposed to get married outside and then a hurricane popped up so we had to move inside. They made the transition for me so easy!! Thanks for everything! It was the best day ever!

The Barn at Shady Lane is truly the best wedding venue in Birmingham! We chose to celebrate our day at the Barn because Michael and Linda were so amazing to work with. The turned our dreams into a reality by letting us have all of the vendors that we wanted for our special day! They were so accommodating with every request, especially all of the last minute ones that come up with wedding planning. They always responded quickly and eased any anxiety or questions that we had along the way. We got so many compliments on how beautiful our venue was and how wonderful the whole day went because of Michael and Linda's support! We are at the age where all of our friends are getting married as well, and this venue has by far exceeded all of the other experiences I have been through with friends' weddings! We loved working with the Adlers, loved the venue, and can't recommend them enough!

The Barn at Shady Lane was everything we had ever dreamed of for our daughter's wedding. The Adler's were incredible to work with from the very beginning all the way to the end of the wedding. As someone who was from out of town, they quickly put our minds at ease and did everything to make it as easy as possible for us. We could not be more please with the decision we made to have one of the most important events of our daughter's life at this venue. It exceeded our dreams for her wedding. They had a place for the bride and bridesmaids, and even a cottage for the groom and groomsmen, and plenty of room for our guests. The grounds were beautiful and welcoming. We highly recommend The Barn at Shady Lane!!

My husband and I could not be grateful to look back on our wedding day and think of The Barn at Shady Lane! Michael and Linda were extremely accommodating and friendly. We instantly felt like we knew them well and could ask them any question that came to our minds. We felt truly celebrated and loved on our big day! Compared to similar venues, the value is fantastic. Shady Lane had everything we dreamed of, from a bridal suite to church pews for family to sit in for our outside ceremony. We couldn't be happier with our experience, and we only wish we could relive the entire day!

Michael and Linda Adler/The Barn at Shady Lane are the best, not only with a beautiful venue, but really being invested in ensuring that nothing is missed in planning an event.

I don’t know where to begin to express our gratitude for their kindness and guidance as we went through the process of planning Katie Elkins Corley's wedding. Everything was “Perfect” and I have seldom heard anyone say that their big day was perfect. So much goes into creating the perfect day, but The Barn at Shady Lane played a huge part in creating that description. We have talked over and over with so many friends of what a beautiful venue they have and the love that is behind it shows through, especially true in that they have used reclaimed wood throughout. A definite highlight is the "Brides" loft, many fun memories were made up there with the girls - a perfect hideaway! Just when we thought it couldn't get any better we were told that The Barn at Shady Lane now has a "Grooms Cabin" - our guy's were able to hang out in this wonderful cabin, beautifully furnished, big screen TV and plenty of space for everyone, offering our guy's the opportunity to be rock stars when the band joined them for a meal (thanks Trotline).

The Barn at Shady Lane has hit the nail on the head with what they have to offer! We will certainly be using this venue for many occasions in the future.

Michael and Linda Adler went above and beyond!! They worked right alongside their crew and the results were amazing! I'm still in awe of the "flip the room" action! We had torrential rain and wind on the day of the wedding, but inside The Barn was PERFECT! Thank you for all you did to make Dalton & Hillary's wedding day everything they dreamed of! The Adler's were so great during the whole process. Shady Lane was the first and only venue we looked at. We booked right away! The barn is so beautiful and elegant and you can really transform it into anything you want! We had both ceremony and reception inside for our winter wedding and it was perfect. They have the room flip down to a science. Guests waited no longer than 15 min to enter the reception after the ceremony. Thank you Shady Lane for making our day magical!!!

Got nothing but compliments from guests on this venue. Linda and Michael are so easy to work with and extremely accommodating!!! Would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking - but be sure to book at least a year in advance. It books quickly!!!

Michael and Linda Adler were an absolute pleasure to work with. The Barn at Shady Lane provided the perfect backdrop for mine and Braden's day. My only real advice would be call them today! They book up very fast because the venue is so great! From the initial meeting to the day of the Adler's were extremely easy to work with and were there to help us with anything we needed. Linda was amazing at responding to texts and returning phone calls. They are an extremely laid back but incredibly professional venue and we were so grateful for everything they did for us. They genuinely want you to use their space and make it your own and they really let you personalize the space for your day. I can't recommend this venue enough it will be one of the easiest decisions of your wedding planning process.

Our day was absolutely perfect at the Barn at Shady Lane. This venue was a great and convenient location for all of our family and friends to attend, because we did not want them driving far to attend our special day. The Adlers helped make our dream wedding with all of our visions come true at the most reasonable price. The wooden barn, bride's loft, and pond provide the perfect backdrop and scenery for photographs. Our guests loved the atmosphere The Barn provided and especially loved the open dance floor. I wish I could relive this fabulous day over and over again! BEST DAY EVER.

I was the planner for a wedding at the barn this past weekend in the ice storm of January 2017! We all started to go into preperation mode as the chacne of ice and snow increased on Friday and Linda was the only vendor that didn't call me to see if we were still having a wedding! Of course we were! When I called HER to check in, she really eased my worries that she too would try to bail on us. In the end, they did everything we asked of them, quickly and prefessionally, and all of our vendors showed up! The barn staff was there to assist all of the vendors if they needed them, as everyone was pulling extra weight since we were in the middle of a winter storm. Oh, and we were very warm in the barn :) Highly suggest this venue for weddings and any other event that you want to be extra special!

The Barn at Shady Lane was the perfect wedding venue for us! The Adlers were so great to work with and went above and beyond for us. We originally planned to have our ceremony outside and everyone was seated already, but it unfortunately started storming before I walked down the aisle and everyone came inside. The Adlers moved everything around and accommodated an indoor ceremony literally in like ten minutes- it was amazing. As much as I was disappointed not being able to get married outside, the venue is still beautiful inside and all of that disappointment went away once I was walking down the aisle. This could not have happened without them! It is an amazing venue with a gorgeous bridal loft to enjoy all day long. I highly recommend this venue for your special day!

A fabulous venue for our daughter's wedding reception-The Barn at Shady Lane. The upstairs was a lovely "get ready" spot for the Bride and her Maids as well as a wonderful retreat for the Bride and Groom to catch their breath, have a meal together before greeting their guests. We were able to open both sets of doors which expanded the overall space and yet allowed all to still be a part of the party-hear the band, access to food and other guests.
Michael and Linda Adler were most accommodating-making recommendations when asked for various vendors, offering to order additional items needed for the reception. I could go on and on - Beautiful accessories, tables, chandelier easy access, plenty of parking, handicap accessible. Gorgeous setting on a large estate-wonderful photo setting.
It was simply PERFECT. Our daughter and her husband and I and my husband could not have been more pleased!!

The moment I saw this venue, I knew that it would be perfect for my daughters wedding. After speaking with Linda Adler, my first impression was confirmed and we booked The Barn. Michael and Linda Adler were wonderful to work with! Although they were unable to be at my daughter's wedding, their substitutes were great. The Adler's sons where a huge help in setting up, parking cars, and cleaning up. Everything ran so smoothly. The outdoor venue was beautiful, the barn was spectacular, and the weather could not have been more perfect. When my other 2 kids get married, this is the first place I will go to and just hope they are not booked! I highly recommend this venue.

the Barn was absolutely amazing. The Adlers were so sweet and helpful all the way from November when we books all the way to our wedding the next august. They helped so much on the day of to set up and coordinate, and they gave suggestions for venders, but we were free to make our own choices. The facilities were beautiful and clean and flexible. The Barn at Shady Lane is BEAUTIFUL! I love the new patio they added to the back and they bridal loft upstairs was perfect for me and the bridesmaids to get ready in and even more beautiful for pictures! We originally found this event venue as it was being built. Our son (the groom) saw it several times when he would play golf at Oxmoor Valley that is across the street. He was engaged and had been looking for a place for us to host the wedding reception. When the sign was posted that it would be open soon for weddings/events, we made an appointment to go and visit it. It was beautiful. An upscale barn location with a huge chandelier and lighting for an elegant rustic/glam look. We booked immediately. We adored Michael and Linda Adler - the owners. They were an energetic and very helpful couple that helped us plan our event. They were always quick to answer by email or phone and gave us so much input and helpful information to make our reception a success. We are so happy we found this place and the wonderful owners and it made for a very special day.

The Barn at Shady Lane was an AMAZING venue for our daughter's wedding! Our entire family and all of our vendors were extremely impressed with the beauty and warmth of this venue. We originally looked at The Barn as a wedding reception location, but we quickly made the decision to host the wedding ceremony also at The Barn. One of the highest compliments came from one of my coworkers who said, "You know I really felt like I was in a little, country church. God's presence was definitely in that place." The ceremony was lovely and intimate. The fellowship shared by our families and wedding party in the Bridal Loft prior to the service was a time I will always treasure. My deepest appreciation, however, is for Michael and Linda Adler! They are PHENOMENAL hosts!! I'm still not quite sure how they do everything they do. They were always happy to meet with us, offer suggestions, accommodate our needs, valet park cars for us, direct traffic, etc,-- and always with huge smiles on their faces! I cannot say enough about our positive experience with The Barn at Shady Lane!

Linda and Michael were so great to work with. They were very professional yet kept a cool vibe running throughout the event so that nothing felt unmanageable and everything was joyful. It was never difficult to get something we needed and they were always easy to reach. They seemed to genuinely enjoy providing a place for people to make memories. The venue itself was absolutely stunning. The bridal loft was one of the most gorgeous rooms I've ever seen, straight out of a vintage chic magazine.

The Adlers, the family who owns The Barn at Shady Lane, are outstanding and amazing people. They are so great to work with. They were responsive to our every concern and let us come by as often as necessary to visualize the big day. My husband and I were the first to host a wedding reception at the barn, and we were unsure of how it would turn out since the barn was finished only a few days before our event. But let me tell you, the final product was amazing. The barn was the perfect size for our guests (200-250 people) especially when the weather is nice and you can keep the barn doors open and gather on the patio as well. The grounds are beautiful. We took tons of gorgeous wedding pictures around the beautiful trees, white picket fences, and rustic barn walls. We loved the bridal suite upstairs too to get away from the crowd to eat dinner and freshen up. The chandelier made our pictures magical and was the perfect accessory for the dance floor. We used Mrs. Linda's farm tables to display our cakes, drinks, and the DJ's equipment. Everyone had a blast and raved about how great the venue was to host an epic party. We are so grateful to the Adlers and the barn at Shady Lane for helping us celebrate our marriage in this incredible reception venue. I would recommend this venue to everyone.

The Barn at Shady Lane was the perfect venue we could have picked for our wedding and reception! Both the outside venue and the barn itself are so beautiful. Mr. and Mrs. Adler are such sweet people who are willing to help make your wedding what you're envisioning. The week before my wedding, they were having some work done to the outside ceremony space that was going to slightly change what I had planned for our wedding--Mrs. Adler was beyond helpful and accommodating with helping us change some things around to make it exactly what we wanted and did everything she could to make sure we were happy...and I couldn't have been more pleased with how everything turned out! Best venue!

I was the DJ for a wedding at this venue and I was more than satisfied with what they had to offer. The acoustics of the building were perfect and the sound could be heard from every angle. Michael Adler was very cooperative and helpful.

It was a wonderful wedding! The Barn at Shady Lane is a beautiful venue. So many guests commented on how beautiful the event was. Working with the Adlers was great!

The Barn at Shady Lane was a perfect venue for our event! It is such a picturesque venue we didn't need a lot of decorations.
Michael and Linda Adler were super easy to work with and were very accessible. It was a beautiful, mild December day and it was perfect to open up the doors to the back patio. We will want to use this venue again!

The Barn at Shady Lane is an ideal location, we picked it because it is centrally located to the family, is a absolutely gorgeous space had air conditioning for our July wedding. Your pictures and video will be beautiful even if you add no decorations of your own, the Bride's loft is such a comfy and picturesque place. Another unexpected benefit was how great the Adlers are to work with.

The Barn opend for events in Oct. of 2014. It was a new venue that my daughter was excited to have for her reception. The owners were easy to work.The had great farm tables we could use for food. Twelve round tables & very nice chairs were provided. Linda secured the security guards we needed . We had over 260 people and it never felt crowded.

The Barn at Shady Lane is a magical setting for a wedding reception. The owners Linda and Michael Adler were very accommodating and extremely helpful in the planning of my niece's reception. The response time to emails was within 12 hours, which is crucial when planning an event. My phone calls were received immediately by Linda Adler and she always provided answers and solutions. The string lights were provided within the barn and on the back patio, which added the perfect ambiance to our final decor. Also provided are beautiful 6-foot wood farm tables and a few other antique tables and pews to help create an elegant look while saving on rental.

Michael Adler was available the morning of the reception to help us hang the drapery we created for the doorways and dance floor. We were so pleased to have his assistance and appreciate his professionalism and kindness. He was also available for tear-down to lend a hand.

We utilized every inch of the barn from the beautiful front yard to the cobblestone patio off the back porch in our effort to accommodate 350 guests. The guests were able to enjoy the entire facility, which was nice.

I highly recommend The Barn at Shady Lane for a rehearsal dinner or wedding and reception.

The venue is beautiful and can be transformed from rustic to elegant. The owners were easy to work with. Bridal room is beautiful but there is not a place for the groom or groomsmen to get ready or hang out prior to the ceremony. Catering area cannot accommodate any type of hot food and needs at least a microwave.

I found working with the Adler's to be very comfortable and reassuring during a time that could be extremely stressful. Michael and Linda communicated through their words and actions that they were there to serve us through the venue and their efforts.

Very nice venue for a wedding and ceremony either indoor or outdoor. There is no room for the groom and groomsmen to get ready at so purchasing a hotel room was another cost. With the high cost of this venue, one would think a room for groom/groomsmen would be available. It does have a very nice bridal suite with a bathroom. The flip between ceremony and reception was very quick and efficient. Our biggest complaint was with the attitude of some of the staff used for clean up purposes. We had several guests comment on the rudeness of the people cleaning up at the end of the night. Our family was supposed to have 1 hour of clean up after reception (and we did leave on time), however staff was very pushy and rude about cleaning up saying they had to "keep their schedule". This came off very unprofessional especially after it was such a great wedding and reception.
