Outstanding Venue with a great view!

The venue was Awesome, the staff at the Attic was fantastic, the food was great, the parking attendances did a wonderful job with taking care of everyone when we arrived. The wedding was done on the beach behind the Waterman's/Attic and the reception was right after. The ataff and crew were ready and it was amazing!!!!!

Absolutely Amazing!

We knew we wanted to have our reception at the Attic when we first started planning. We loved the idea of being able to go to Watermen's and have the same meal we had at our wedding on our anniversary. Krysta was our event manager and she was just amazing! She answered all our questions very quickly and was fantastic adding last minute guests a week before the wedding. We ended up going with a cocktail hour and a platted dinner. It was almost overwhelming to choose items for the cocktail hour since none of them are on the menu for the restaurant downstairs and everything sounded so delicious. Dinner was a bit easier since nearly everything was on the menu downstairs and we'd tried it before. We were able to have our guests choose between three entrees, and they even made a special meal for my vegan guest. I don't think anyone finished their steak it was so large. The serving staff was just amazing! When we arrived we had a sampling of everything from cocktail hour at our table. We were so busy and elated that we hardly ate at the reception and the staff was amazing and boxed everything up for us so we could enjoy it when we got back to our hotel. The food was outstanding, which of course I would expect nothing less from Waterman's.

We were able to control the open bar and offered house wine, beer, and all the crushes. The bartender was amazing and there was never a long line for drinks. The venue itself is just beautiful, it really doesn't need a lot in the way of decorations. The mirrored wall on the dance floor made for some absolutely beautiful pictures. We added the bistro lighting and when the sun went down it looked just magical in the room. We had 55 guests and I felt the room was just perfect for that number.

Simply Amazing!

The Attic at Waterman’s was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding and I could not have asked for a better venue and staff. From the time I submitted my inquiry and spoke with Courtney about booking up until the very last minute of our wedding day (and even after) everything was completely fantastic. Working with Courtney was an absolute breeze. She is extremely quick to respond and so helpful with any questions. She had so many great ideas and recommendations to make the day as memorable as possible. All of the staff working the evening of the wedding were amazing. They made everything seamless and did everything with a smile. The food and drinks were also wonderful, as always, and we received so many compliments on how great it was. Overall, I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Attic and owe them all endless thank yous!!

Beautiful Space and Great Staff

We ultimately decided to choose The Attic at Waterman's because of the beautiful space and the fact that we didn't have to hire a separate caterer. We fell in lover with the Attic at Waterman's because of the great Events Managers and their willingness to help us through the journey of planning a wedding during Covid. Our guests could not say enough great things about the space, staff, food, and drinks. Many said it was one of the best weddings they have been to and I believe that is due to The Attic at Waterman's food and drinks.

Wonderful people to work with!

My husband and I had started the wedding planning process with Catalina at the Attic back in August of 2020 during the middle of the pandemic. Catalina and her team were incredibly helpful and accommodating with our Covid related requests and concerns. Catalina had some wonderful suggestions to help us plan our perfect day. Our day-of coordinator, Jamie, was just as wonderful as Catalina. She helped the evening stay on track and flow smoothly. Our guests wont stop talking about how fantastic the food was as well! Definitely add the bacon wrapped scallops to your menu for your event! The lighting in this room is fantastic and all of staff who bartended, served food and parked cars were the nicest people to work with. I would highly recommend the Attic for a wedding, or any other event.

Perfect beach view wedding/reception

I booked the attic for a reception after my wedding on the beach, but when something went wrong with the beach ceremony they let us move our reservation an hour early to perform a ceremony at the reception venue. We came to see the space hours before the wedding. They had a separate stairway for the bride and party to come up without guests seeing. They were VERY accommodating with every request I had. They had an answer for every question I had. The decorations they supplied were a great touch. They gave me a timeline of events (dinner, speeches, cake cutting, dances. Ect..) which made everything less stressful. Alex was the event manager there the whole night to make sure everything was done at the right time. She made sure everyone was happy and everything went smooth. The food was great, the beach view was great and the service from the servers were great. You will NOT regret booking with them. Courtney was the event manager I kept in touch with the most. She responded in a very timely manner and was very friendly and understanding. I wish I could relive my time at the Attic every day. I have nothing negative to say ☺️

Perfect in every way!!

We could not have picked a better venue for our wedding on 7/23/20. Catalina was amazing in every way possible! She was so kind and helpful! She helped us put everything together in less than 2 months and even allowed us to move the ceremony to the venue last minute because of pop up thunderstorms.

The venue space is beautiful and has everything you need. The food was so delicious! I’m still having guests tell me how good it was!

This is a perfect space for a smaller wedding! I literally have nothing bad to say. All of the staff was extremely helpful and helped in making our day perfect! So thankful for everything they provided! Especially the orange crushes 😉

Excellent food, great service, wonderful venue, coordinator was on point!
Everything was absolutely perfect even though the weather didn't cooperate with our original plans, Waterman's did a great job of accommodating our needs.

Wedding on the beach

It was a pleasure to work with Anne over at The Attic at Waterman’s. On the big day the venue was set up beautifully. The staff was great at meeting our needs. Our guest just loved the venue.

We selected Waterman's to host a rehearsal dinner for approximately 50 people. The room was spectacular with the views of the ocean and the table setup. The staff were exceptional tending to our every request and making our guests feel special. the food was served hot and was delicious. Many of our guests remarked on the quality and quantity of food and the attentiveness of the staff. Overall the evening was a home run and I would return to Waterman's for any event between 20 people and 100 people. I highly recommend and believe you will be more than happy with your selection.

Courtney was amazing to work with through our entire wedding planning! She was very quick to respond to any questions or concerns I had. Our reception was perfect! The food was amazing! Lots of our guests told us it was the best wedding food they have had.

Sarah at Waterman's is AWESOME! We planned our wedding "welcome reception" for about 100 people at Waterman's from across the country, and Sarah patiently handled my one million questions. She is kind, excited about your wedding and super responsive. When we finally arrived in Virginia before the wedding, Sarah walked us through every detail and made us feel so relaxed and excited. On the actual day of the event, she checked in with us regularly, made sure everything was done flawlessly and gave great advice on whether we needed to order some "emergency" food as our guests gobbled up what we had ordered (we didn't - we were just panicking over nothing!)! Our guests seriously raved about the event. The space is gorgeous, the staff is unbelievable and the food is delicious!

The ENTIRE staff at Waterman's were amazing! It was my daughter's wedding and she wanted a beach wedding. We started looking for a venue and Waterman's was recommended by friends. The usual back and forth with "negotiations" leading up to the wedding can try the patience of anyone, but Catalina followed up with ALL my daughter's concerns. The big day arrives and the restaurant was very busy and I thought it might be difficult for her to walk down the stairs (through the restaurant) and onto the beach but the crowd all cheered and clapped for her making it a great start for the ceremony !!!!!
The reception was tremendous! The food/drinks and service were 5 star !!
Thank you for making my daughter's special day even more special !!!

The best decision I made, other than proposing to my wife, was having our rehearsal dinner here. Since my wife basically did all of the wedding planning, I took care of the dinner. I worked with Courtney B. on getting everything planned. She was very informative, up front about everything, fast to respond, and also gave me suggestions. She made this so easy for me it was like having cheat codes compared to what my wife went through planning the wedding. We didn't have to do any setup or cleaning (although we could have decorated more if we wanted). I worked with Malina and Charlie the night of. They too were super down to earth and very professional. Charlie was a trooper putting up with my drunk friends and family. The food was incredible! I personally liked it better than the food we had at our wedding, don't tell my wife... On top of all that you can't beat the view. Obviously it wasn't cheap. But considering the location, service and value (and that nothing wedding related is ever cheap) I felt it was worth every penny.

Searching for a venue for your wedding can be so overwhelming but once you view The Attic at Watermans, you will stop your search! The space is wonderful with a great view of the oceanfront. The meetings with Catalina Diaz were very detailed and on point. I am a first time bride, at age 50, and I did not know what to expect. I had many questions and she answered every question with a smile. I also e.mailed her frequently and they were answered promptly. Absolutely great service! The last sit down meeting I was sitting there thinking "wow, everything is taken care of, I just have to show up!" The day of our wedding was absolutely perfect! Ms Diaz made sure everything we discussed was taken care of. I honestly had the best day ever! You will not be disappointed with this venue, great food, great service and all the employees took care of us as if we were family.

My Husband and I were not planning on having a wedding & reception - but then we met Courtney W. and saw The Attic at Waterman's and everything changed! Our PERFECT & memorable reception was held on 10/22/16. There is really no combination of words to describe the quality of service, food, and atmosphere that Waterman's provides. From the minute we had an interest in The Attic, Courtney W. answered any and all of our questions, before even booking the space. She was beyond patient, kind, friendly, and fun! Even after we booked the space in The Attic, more than a year out from our date, Courtney was always checking in to see how our planning was going and how we were doing and asking if we needed anything. To say we have made a new friend is an understatement. Working with Courtney W. was wonderful and relaxed - she helped us so much in our reception planning. My Husband and I live in Tampa, but were married in VA Beach, and when we came to visit The Attic the week before our wedding, Courtney walked through everything with us (several times!) and even suggested a few different layouts for our reception that was not planned and they were happy to accommodate us for anything! Even a week out!! It was so much fun planning with Courtney - her excitement for us really helped us avoid any "pre-wedding stress"!

For the actual reception dinner - it was excellent, incredible, and delicious! The Waterman's team took excellent care of all of our guests and we are still receiving calls, texts, and emails about how wonderful it was and how much everyone enjoyed their time! If there is such thing as a perfect wedding reception, our reception in The Attic at Waterman's was it! From the food, the team, the atmosphere, THE VIEW, and the flexibility of menu & dietary needs - Waterman's, The Attic at Waterman's, and their entire team gets a TEN-STAR vote from us any day of the week!

We had our wedding reception in the Attic. We had a blast, and everything was executed seamlessly. Courtney Brough was great to work with. She was friendly, polite, helpful, and responsive to phone calls and e-mails. On the day of our wedding, Catalina and the staff at Waterman's were wonderful. We heard positive feedback from our guests about the Attic itself, as well as the food and the service. We are so glad we chose the Attic for our wedding reception space. We are thrilled with how everything turned out, and we wouldn't have changed a thing about our wedding. We LOVE Courtney Whitby, Catalina, and the staff at Waterman's! The Attic hosted our rehearsal dinner on a Friday evening and our cocktail reception on the following Saturday night in July 2016. The venue is beautiful, the food is delicious, the service is exceptional, and don't get me started on their Orange Crushes (all of our guests loved them!). Courtney consistently worked with me throughout the planning process to make sure both events matched our vision and budget, and she even followed up with all of our vendors (i.e. the photographer, the band, the cupcakes, and the photo booth) to make sure everyone was on the same page. Then Catalina took care of us on the days of our events. Everything was executed flawlessly! They even surprised us with a drink station with water, lemonade, and iced tea for our guests! Catalina was also super accommodating when I needed a break from the 100 degree weather that we had experienced during our beach ceremony. I had started to feel sick from dehydration so one of the bartenders, who is also an EMT, came to help! They kept the ice cold water coming, got me a fan and some fruit, and quickly thought on their feet on how to get the food out to the guests while I was recovering in the room that had currently been holding the hot food. They were truly amazing! Thank you, Waterman's, for your hard work, great attitudes, and support with making our wedding weekend more fabulous than we could have ever expected!

We held our wedding and reception at Watermans. Courtney Brough, the event planner at Watermans, was so nice helping with all the arrangements and answering all my questions in a very timely manner. Initially the wedding was suppose to take place outside but Hurricane Joaquin changed that! Courtney was wonderful in getting everything re-arranged so we could hold our service indoors, including bringing our wedding arch indoors. The space was perfect for our 75 wedding guests. Everyone loved the beautiful view of the ocean!. We had an hors d' ourve reception and the food was wonderful! It was the most perfect wedding I could hope for!

Courtney and Courtney were an excellent team that provided my husband and I with a memorable evening we shared with our friends and family who could not make it to our destination wedding in the Caribbean. Our guests commented on how great the food and drinks were, and the service was excellent.

The Attic at Waterman's is the perfect location to host your rehearsal dinner. Anne and her staff were so friendly and easy to work with in planning the event. The venue has a stunning view and was set up beautifully for the rehearsal dinner. The food was delicious, and most importantly, it was served hot and to all of our guests at the same time. The staff that night was very professional and courteous. I would definitely host another event there!

We were looking for a 'beachy place to hold our reception, and the Attic at Waterman's was perfect! The waterfront view, the cozy atmosphere, and the exceptional service made our event exactly what we had hoped for. Courtney worked with us every step of the way, helping us plan for the food and venue set up. She was lovely to work with and beyond patient with our questions and changes. The night of the event we were very impressed with the entire staff, from the bar tenders to the servers, to the chefs that prepared the delicious food. I wouldn't have changed a thing about the entire experience!

The Attic was incredible. I have been coming to Waterman's since I was a kid and they couldn't have done a better job of making our rehearsal dinner as memorable as possible.

They were even very accommodating to show a video (unplanned) during the dinner. The staff scrambled to get all the computers setup with the projector screen so we could show a video I prepared but had forgotten to mention to the coordinator.

Our reception of about 70 in total was absolutely perfect. We loved the food, service, and atmosphere of the Attic. Courtney G. was an absolute sweetheart, and answered every single question I had, as well as catered to my millions of requests. The event manager, Cyndey was wonderful, and helped keep the evening moving right along perfectly. I think 10 stars would be more appropriate for this fantastic restaurant, the friendly staff, gorgeous rustic banquet room, and the perfect location overlooking the beach! Couldn't ask for anything more!

When I started looking at wedding venues, I quickly discovered that The Attic at Waterman's was not only an excellent value, but would also be an excellent experience! The reviews I read were simply glowing, so I put my faith in that information and booked the space. I am so THRILLED that I did! Working with the Attic staff was so easy. Courtney Williams (special events manager) was always available and provided me with so much helpful information, from possible vendors to recommended table set-up. On the big day, the event staff and banquet manager, Cydney, were incredibly helpful, accommodating, professional, and friendly. The ceremony and reception went perfectly and we received such positive feedback from our friends and family! They even let us store our leftovers there until the next day so that we didn't have to fuss with it. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for an amazing space, amazing staff from start to finish, and an amazing value! I promise they will make your special day more than you can imagine! Thank you to everyone at Waterman's for such an incredible experience!!

The Attic at Waterman's was the perfect location for our wedding. They made the whole planning process SO easy. They had a list of suggested vendors for the cake, photographer, DJ, flowers, etc. which made everything very simple. We decided the day before that we needed to have the ceremony inside due to the high chance of rain and it was no trouble at all to make the switch. The Attic has so much charm character with the wall of windows overlooking the beach and all the wood detail that the only decorations we added were flowers. We worked with both of the Courtney's and they were incredible. Courtney W. was there for the actual wedding and she made sure we didn't have to worry about anything. The staff was helpful and friendly, the food was delicious, and everything just ran so smoothly. Many our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to and my new husband and I loved every minute of it. I can't imagine a wedding venue better than Waterman's!

The Attic at Waterman's was our dream location to have a Friday the 13th wedding at the beach. We loved working with Courtney Williams as well as Courtney Gearheart. They were so helpful leading up to our day.
The food choices we had were delicious, the bartenders were so great, and the whole event staff made our wedding night perfect. Even on a busy Friday night, our wedding guests were all valet parked and offered an appetizer upon arriving. The food was warm all night and we even had some boxed up to take with us to the hotel! I am so glad we decided to book our wedding at The Attic, we wish we could do it all over again!

During the process of planning my daughter's wedding the Event Managers at Waterman's were friendly, professional and very helpful. They made planning the reception easy with their great suggestions to make the evening flow more smoothly. We had planned to have the ceremony on the beach but the weather didn't cooperate so we turned to them and they made it so easy for us to have a beautiful last minute ceremony in the Attic with a temporary rearrangement of furniture and everyone was happy!
The Attic is a lovely space with the ocean view and the warm wood finishes. We had 70 guests and had plenty of space for visiting, dancing etc. The food and cocktails were delicious, and the whole staff were so efficient I didn't have to do anything except dance and have fun all evening. All of our guests raved about the whole evening.
We are so happy that we chose Waterman's for the big day.

This place is fabulous ! I have nothing bad to report on Watermans, they went above and beyond to make my reception perfect!! Meeting and planning with the people there was easy and they always worked around my schedule. Aside from the venue being really beautiful on its own, they were very willing to let me decorate the way I wanted (within reasonable limitations). The food is amazing and there was plenty of room for the dj booth as well as a photo booth! The wait staff was on another level as far as customer service- we were so well cared for that night, and the staff/bartenders even helped to break down the decorations and table settings afterwards! I can't thank them enough for making my wedding day so wonderful!

Their event coordinator (Courtney Williams) was absolutely fantastic. She was so helpful and answered all my questions immediately and was so helpful during the whole planning process. She went above and beyond to make the whole planning process less stressful and really seemed like she enjoyed the whole event. She was so friendly and organized and I really appreciate all she did to make my wedding a success. And the venue is absolutely gorgeous with an amazing view of the beach during the entire reception. The venue was so easy to decorate because it was already such a pretty setting.

Having my Wedding at waterman's was the best decision I made! Everyone there was so helpful and professional they made my day easier. All of our guests loved the food, and the drinks. I would definitely will be going back to this restaurant! The location is perfect and the Attic is beautiful with a perfect ocean view, also i did not have a wedding planner, but with all the help of the people that works there I felt like I did not need one.

Waterman's is absolutely beautiful. I had outstanding service and the food was fantastic. Very easy going and pleasant people who were very accommodating. The orange crushes are the best! The kicker.....best price in town!!

Waterman's did an excellent job for our party. The food, staff, and service were fabulous and I highly recommend them for any kind of event. They were very organized, professional, and they paid close attention to every detail. The view of the ocean is beautiful. Our guests had a wonderful time.

The staff at Waterman's is extraordinary! We worked with them for a year to create a candlelit wedding and reception by the sea and what a truly amazing experience it was to work with them. The entire staff is spot on! The evening went by without a hitch, the food was out of this world and our guests are still talking about what a great time they had and how good the food was! It was a night we will never forget and Waterman's was a HUGE part of that. We were walking on air as we made our exit! The perfect venue for a perfect evening of LOVE, JOY and LAUGHTER shared with family and friends. Perfection!

The Attic at Waterman's was the perfect location for our wedding reception. It is a great price compared to other locations in the area and the look and feel of the attic is perfect for an intimate and fun party. Planning was low stress because the managers were always helpful and professional. Also, all of the food was delicious. I can not say enough AMAZING things about how great my experience was with Waterman's. Courtney G was our wedding consultant and she was PATIENT, CREATIVE, HELPFUL and MADE sure everything was perfect for us. We had a PARTY! The food was AWESOME. They had a wide selection on their catering menu for weddings of all sizes and budgets. Everyone at my wedding was raving about the food. The staff was just as amazing. The wait staff never let my drink get empty (we felt like we were VIP ALL night)!!!! The bartenders were fun and made great drinks. Everyone had a smile on their face. They put our names on the marquee, let us use vases and other things they already had in the space and truly went out of their way to make our WEDDING perfect. I am a VB local and Waterman's has always been our favorite because of the orange crushes. Now I am a customer for life because of how I (and my new husband) were treated on our wedding day. I think all 130 of my other guests are customers for life as well!!!! The panaramoic view of the ocean at night can not be topped. TWO THUMBS UP!!!!!!!!

I have used the Attic at Waterman"s for a company retirement party and for my Son's wedding rehersal dinner. Both times the setting and view of the Ocean were fantastic. The atmosphere, lighting, music and place settings were above everyone's expectations. The food was very good, and the service was excellent from the servers, bartenders and espically the catering cordinator Courtney Williams. I would recomend this venue to all.

What an amazing venue to have a rehearsal dinner!!! Our guests loved the intimacy of the attic and looking over the Oceanfront was so beautiful!! Courtney was our contact and she was so great to work with and extremely flexible. She really helped us with our menu selection. I felt at total ease! We also had a small band and they were a perfect fit for the venue!!!

We had our rehearsal dinner at "The Attic" at Waterman's. The room is beautiful with a fantastic view. The food and drinks were wonderful. The banquet managers were incredibly accommodating and helped make the night very memorable for ourselves and our family & friends.

My husband and I had the most incredible experience having our wedding reception at Waterman's (upstairs in "the attic"). Courtney, one of the banquest managers, was an absolute DREAM to work with! She made our special day so easy and stress-free. The bar and waitstaff were also extremely accomodating and my guests had nothing but wonderful things to say about the service. They were willing to work with us on whatever we needed while always keeping a smile! The food was amazing and everyone left the evening full and raving about the food. The room speaks for itself with it's beautiful high ceilings and breath-taking views of the beach. I could not picture having had my special day anywhere else!

Waterman's hosted our wedding ceremony and reception in their "Attic". It was a beautiful evening.

Courtney, the banquet sales manager, was a pleasure to work with from the first time we met her. Courtney made it very easy and stress free for us to have our wedding there.

All of our friends and family were blown away by the attentiveness, service, and food at Waterman's. Guests told us it was 'the best wedding food they ever had'.

My new husband and I have nothing but fabulous things to say about our wedding experience at Waterman's. It was the perfect fit for our casual beach themed wedding.

Waterman's is a great place for a fun and affordable wedding reception with FABULOUS food - we recommend the crab dip with the pita points and the coconut shrimp (both were favorites with our guests).

The Attic worked perfectly for our wedding reception. We were looking for a location with a view of the waterfront, that provided the catering and bar services but that didn't require a huge amount for the minimums. After researching multiple locations, we settled on Waterman's pretty quickly because the food is truly amazing (which is honestly hard to find in a wedding caterer), has a PERFECT view of the ocean, has an option to move the ceremony inside in case of inclement weather, and allows you to decorate and personalize the space any way you want. The special event coordinators at Waterman's are great. They work together so regardless which one you work with regularly, they are all able to answer questions and give assistance. The venue does not require huge downpayment, the minimum payments for food and beverage are extremely reasonable even during peak season and on weekends. The coordinators are happy to meet with you as many times as you like, are flexible with out of town couples and are very organized. On the day of, I didn't worry about a single thing related to the venue, food, or reception schedule. One last thing - Waterman's has worked with many vendors in the VA Beach area in the past and so organizing deliveries and set up on the day of is a breeze. Wonderful venue and a special thanks to Courtney and Catalina!

The Attic was fabulous! The food was delicious and Jacqueline even searched high and low for the ingredients to my favorite drink! Everyone was well tended to and I LOVED overlooking the ocean. It was actually stormy and raining but that made the view even more breathtaking. The private bathrooms were a great plus too.

We had a small private reception in the top room. While we changed our minds too often, they worked with us. Everyone had a great time. The room was gorgeous. The staff gave great service. They let us change in the upstairs room to have a quick vow exchange on the beach prior to the reception. The food was outstanding. No one left hungry or disappointed.

The food was great! Servers are responsive. I really love the ambiance of their Attic. It was perfect for a wedding reception and other parties. The value for money is great. There were a few problems, the first was when I was doing the planning with the coordinator they switched who’s coordinating my wedding because the first one needs to be on a maternity leave so it’s like I started again on the new one with all the details. Second was during the wedding reception the coordinator forgot the bottle of champagne for our table which delayed my cake cutting and champagne toast but it’s all good she didn’t charged me for the champagne and I also requested for a cake raiser but saw my cake came out too flat on the table. I would recommend for them to set up the silverware and table napkin on the table even its buffet style and not rolling it up since it’s a wedding or banquet. I do a lot banquets in New York mostly country clubs and private member city clubs that’s why I am a little bit into over the top kind of service and set up. Overall experience, value and beautiful ambiance I will still give it a 4 star rating.

Attended a wedding

The setting was beautiful and room set up and ready.

The reception was booked for 85 with a buffet meal for the reception of an late afternoon wedding. After the first 30 people some items were out such as the shrimp and taco shells. Steak bites and Tuna bites were also gone. Those of us who were not at the head or first tables had little left to choice from. Then we were informed they had no more shrimp to replace the food with. A few more tuna bites and steak bites were brought out and some type of rolled stuff something like an egg roll. Sad for the price and given the total number that was to attend and them paying per person the person who planned on the food did not come close to planning on enough to feed the amount of guest that were paid for. If I did an event I would only book the room and order pizza or something to be brought in since the people that were paid for could eat. What a shame.
