Who Needs Décor When The Building Is Breathtaking
We decided to choose The Atrium at Meadowlark for our wedding since the gardens hold a special place in our heart from the covid days. Our experience with communicating with them was exceptional, even despite a change in venue coordinator in the month leading up to our wedding.
The inside of the Atrium is even more breathtaking in person - the little river flowing through it, the trees, the string lights, and the abundance of flowers all came with the venue price. Obviously we did buy a bit of decor for the tables, and added an uplighting package from our DJ to make sure it was bright enough at night, but honestly the whole building is spectacular - and thankfully handicap accessible! The only downside that really exists is there's no room for the groom to really get ready other than the men's bathroom. The bridal suite is great, but you'll want your future husband to prep beforehand!
Overall, I'd highly recommend this venue, they were a pleasure to work with (and that includes the Blue Heron Catering team too), and the venue is to die for!The Atrium at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens's reply:
Thank you for sharing your special day with us! Wishing you and Ari happiness and joy in your future together :) -

We had our wedding at Meadowlark and they did a great job with everything. The setting is beautiful. We used their preferred caterer and the food and service was wonderful. The staff was very responsive by e-mail and did a great job making last minute adjustments. We had a great time at our wedding. The catering staff even brought my husband and I trays of appetizers back to where we were waiting to be announced to make sure that we got to have some. That was a nice touch. It is no secret why this venue books up so far in advance. -

The Meadowlark gardens is a superb place for a wedding ceremony and/or reception if you enjoy a beautiful garden setting. They have many beautiful outdoor areas as well has a full service large (200 ppl) glass atrium that is temperature controlled. It is a nice mix of indoor comfort with many outdoor options a few steps away.
I highly recommend making a quick visit to the park. The pictures don't do it justice. Tell them you are considering using their wedding venue and they will let you in for free. In addition to the Atrium with a outdoor terrace, there are severl gazibos including one over a lake. The whole area is delicately maintained and picture perfect.
We had our ceremony on their Atrium terrace with the reception tables setup inside the glass Atrium. During cocktail, the photographer took us outside for some amazing garden shots.
They rent the entire Attrium with outdoor access for 6-8 hour blocks and ensures that no other couples will be in the park at the same time. The Atrium also has a prep kitchen, restrooms, and changing room. Friday, Saturda, Sunday rates are pretty insane, ranging from $4K to $6K. Rates on other days are far more affordable, starting around $2K for 6 hours. One of the small garden gazebos can also be rented for a few hundred if you are ok doing the whole wedding outdoors. They don't provide any staff, just an event corrodinator. The caterer you choose must be licensed and insured.
I highly recommend the Meadowlark location if you like outdoor settings. The Atrium is very good for indoor comfort, and all the glass and indoor gardens makes you like you are outdoors as well. It is also helpful that they give you generous time alotments where as many places charge for each hour. A full ceremony + reception + dancing will take at least 8 hours. Book early as they are very popular.

We just had our wedding at this venue and what an incredible place. The venue had amazing workers there that helped us out through the entire process and once we got to the venue for the reception, the venue Captain and staff were so helpful. We heard great things from our guest who were there and we couldn't be happier with the choice we made for our wedding reception. -

Beautiful wedding venue
We decided to celebrate our wedding here because my husband proposed to me at the Winter walk of lights. And we couldn’t be happier with our decision. We saved so much money on decoration because the venue itself is breathtaking. Our wedding felt like a fairy tale because we were surrounded by so many flowers and plants. If you are a potential client, I highly recommend you come take a look!

A few people had recommended this location to me and I hadn't done any homework on it at all. I walked in and there was no question in my mind that this was the place. The price was a little more than I wanted to pay, but I thought it was fair and worth it for what I was getting. I worked with several people trying to get the wedding organized and they were always extremely helpful and willing to offer recommendations for vendors that theyd worked with. I was extremely happy with the service I received and would recommend it in a heartbeat. -

Meadowlark gave us the wedding of our dreams. We are so overwhelmed with gratitude for staff. Bryan went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and full. :) The venue was elegant, the staff was generous, and my guests were stunned with the beautiful holiday lights that the gardens had to offer. Serena, Christian, Bryan, Kristin, and Wayne thank you for your kindness and generosity. -

Amazing wedding venue!
Amazing wedding venue!! My husband and I decided to get married here after visiting the garden to see holiday lights during one of our first date years ago. We are so happy we did! It's an absolutely stunning venue, and the garden looks beautiful in any season! Our wedding was on a rainy fall day, and although we didn't have the outdoor ceremony we were hoping for, I wouldn't change a thing. The Atrium looked so stunning for our ceremony and even more beautiful during the reception! Esther was incredibly helpful in the couple months leading up to our wedding, making sure we had our final guest list and seating chart together, and working with us and our coordinator to ensure everything was set up just as we needed. Additionally, we had a half Indian wedding with a Baraat, so it was important for us to find a venue that could accommodate this, and needless to say, the Atrium did so beautifully. It ended up being the best day in a beautiful venue that we will look back on and treasure for years to come! -

Highly Recommend!
I knew Meadowlark was the venue for us (so much so that I only looked at one other). The room is already beautiful with the plants, lights, and glass exterior so it did not need much decoration. In addition, the catering and alcohol is handled in house, and the staff handles rentals from its third parties, which made our entire planning process so much easier. The team at Meadowlark was also very helpful and the wedding itself was executed flawlessly even during the pandemic. I definitely recommend Meadowlark! -

Quality of service was outstanding. They're high end without a doubt but were definitely worth it. Wayne and staff were very responsive, creative and flexible. Blue Heron's food was outstanding, nicely presented and served, best food I've encountered at a wedding/special event. We now understand why you have to book 15-18 months in advance to get the Atrium. -

Amazing!! Highly highly recommend
The entire crew at Meadowlark created the most magical day for us! We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful venue (with Christmas lights and winter decor!!), the staff was so helpful and the food amazing! It’s one thing to have a gorgeous venue, but the amazing staff was the cherry on top! We had so many guest comment on the beauty of the venue, the delicious food and the amazing staff. Bettina, Wayne and Bianca are the dream team! They run a well-oiled machine and know what they are doing... it was worth every penny!! It was the most magical and special day thanks to Meadowlark! Friends and family told me that something would go wrong and thanks to the staff at Meadowlark, everything was flawless and nothing ever went wrong! So smooth and so so beautiful. -

We loved our venue, and so did all our guests. We spent virtually $0 on decor since it's beautiful all on its own. We were lucky to get a Friday the 13th discount, have the Walk of Lights available to our guests, and great service from the venue staff. I think choosing this venue took a lot of extra to-do's off our wedding planning--they covered so much for us! -

My wedding at Meadowlark was completely and utterly perfect. I seriously could not be happier. Scott Boger and his coworkers bent over backwards to make sure everything was perfect. We went with the in-house catering and it was phenomenal. When I first met Scott he said "with me, you won't need a wedding coordinator" and he could not have been more right. He is so professional, organized, and friendly. I felt like I had a friend and a shoulder to cry on throughout the entire experience.
This is the absolute BEST place to get married in Northern Virginia. It's GORGEOUS and staffed with professional and amazing people. I wish I could give it six stars!!!! -

Meadowlark Gardens was amazing. We did not have a wedding planner, nor did we need one, as the staff was so incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and fantastic throughout the entire process. We catered through Blue Heron, which worked out perfectly, as we received many compliments on the food. We could not have asked for a better venue and better service. We sincerely appreciate the wonderful wedding they made possible for us. -

Meadowlark Botanical Gardens was a wonderful site to hold a wedding. The Atrium staff was a pleasure to work with, professional, friendly and flexible from the date of booking through the event itself. Though the temperature outside topped 100 degrees, the Atrium stayed properly cool throughout the evening. Wayne and Renee answered all our questions, and had great ideas on how to use the space effectively for our 150 guests; the space did not feel crowded thanks to the layout they designed. Our guests marveled at the beauty of the garden setting both inside and outside of the Atrium. Not much was needed in the way of additional decor, though we did drape the mural and up light the pillars. Many thanks to the wonderful Atrium staff for all of their gracious help! -

We have absolutely nothing but good things to say about The Atrium. From the second we walked in for a tour they were there to help us make our vision come to life. Our word of caution is to reserve your day as soon as possible because weekends during peak season can book up fast! We booked our Saturday in September about 15 months in advance and some of the other Saturdays that month were already taken. As with most venues prices are higher during peak season and on prime days like Saturday. The day of the wedding the staff helped everything get done exactly as we had discussed and was completely understanding to all and any last minute changes. It was also perfectly located in the botanical gardens which made for gorgeous photos and lovely grounds for the guests to enjoy. We had the most memorable, lovely time at this wonderful venue! -

It was the perfect place for us. They are super responsive, flexible and just down right amazing. the grounds are gorgeous and I can't believe that I've lived in Virginia for 20 years of my life and didn't know they existed. If they're open for a day you're good with, don't hesitate with booking them. Their caterer is delicious (We didn't get to eat much, but our guests couldn't stop telling us how delicious it was) and you really don't need a day of person when working with them. they are just awesome ^_^ -

Amazing reception venue and location. The gardens are gorgeous and the inside of the Atrium truly makes you feel like you are outside while being protected by all of the elements. Also, everyone who works there is the best. So friendly and efficient and willing to do anything for you. They will always answer your e-mail quickly and my advice, to use Great Blue Heron Catering company which is through the park authority. The were also very quick with their responses, friendly and accommodating, did everything we wanted, and, of course, the food was incredible and everyone raved about it! -

We cannot rave highly enough about The Atrium. It was the perfect reception venue from the initial walk through to the day of. The beauty speaks for itself, especially during the holiday season, as it has extra decorations up as well as the winter walk of lights to serve as an amazing backdrop and finale walk through for guests. But I think the best part of the Atrium is that it is a one stop shop. We had no need for a wedding planner. Wayne and Cerrena walk you through the whole floor plan and all of the logistics to arrange things exactly how you want and your catering captain helps with your event schedule the day of. We had several DIY-type decorations for the check in table, centerpieces, and misc. signs which were all laid out perfectly according to the directions we gave the Atrium. We used their in house catering- Great Blue Heron, which was excellent. We will right a separate review for that. 100% recommend the Atrium to anyone. -

Best and the Most Beautiful Nature Venue
Very beautiful and Green / Natural Venue I have ever seen!!
This venue is incredible. My photographs came out amazing because of the view!
We did our wedding on Sunday, October 16th, we had the changing leaves and it was very beautiful.
On my wedding day, it was not so cold so we could take our pictures outside.
They change the flower and decorations each season, so you can have a seasonal wedding anytime!
The workers were very kind and so nice!
They will respond to you fast if you send an email than call, so be careful.
My coordinator was very organized and took care of me a lot.
They have their own catering service, and I highly recommend that you should use them.
The catering team did an amazing job and was perfect. The bartenders worked very fast too. The foods were very delicious and all of my guests loved it.
Highly recommend!!! -

We had our wedding at Meadowlark recently and couldn't have been happier. The venue is gorgeous and unique - I knew immediately upon visiting Meadowlark that I wanted to have my wedding there. The staff at Meadowlark and their in-house caterer, Great Blue Heron, were very responsive and flexible. They made the entire process easy. I was particularly pleased that the venue price included quite a bit compared to some other venues we looked at. Meadowlark also allowed us to have a rehearsal the day before and drop several things off, which was very helpful. Our guests raved about Meadowlark and the food. I would highly recommend Meadowlark as a wedding venue! -

The Atrium at Meadowlark was the only venue we saw. We came there on a spring day (about 1 year before our actual wedding) when it was pouring rain outside. Despite rain the place was so beautiful that my fiancé and I looked at each other and almost instantly decided that this was it. The atrium itself is so beautiful with flowers, trees and streams making it look like a secret garden. There is a ton of natural light. One of the things that really appealed to us about this place is that we wanted to have our wedding outside, but if that was compromised by weather we could still have it in a beautiful indoor space. The atrium is perfect for that. In addition, the surrounding outdoor gardens are so beautiful with amazing photo and video opportunities! Luckily, we had a perfect day without any rain. The venue really made our day feel magical and we highly recommend it! -

We had our wedding reception and ceremony at Meadowlark on August 13th. We would highly recommend this venue to everyone. The location is beautiful and the staff are wonderful. We are very pleased with the friendliness, flexibility, and helpfulness of all the staff at Meadowlark. Although the rental cost is a little higher than many other venues, it absolutely worth it for your big day. We used in house catered Blue Heron, which worked out perfectly, as we received many compliments on the food from the guests. Not sure why one would get outside catering as they cook right there and the food is fresh and warm. Outside catering would require logistical planning and likely, reheating of food which everyone knows never is as good. Dennis, Liz, and Alyssa were very helpful and responsive. They went out their way to help us with custom requests. It was also a great pleasure to work with Wayne who is the event manager. He was very flexible with our final guest count even though the wedding website lists 190 for their maximum capacity, we could fit up up 224 guests. Overall, we were extremely happy with the overall experience. They offered great advice during the final walk through and the entire process before the wedding. All the staff provided fantastic service on the day of the event. They completed every single detail of the wedding tasks that we had discussed. We had numerous comments that this was the best wedding that they have attended!
It was an incredible experience working with Meadowlark staffs and Blue Heron cater. We couldn't have asked for more. We were so glad we picked this venue and their in house cater. We sincerely appreciate the perfect wonderful wedding they made for us. Highly recommended. -

You couldnt' find a better place to hold a wedding reception.
You don't need to decorate, except for centerpieces on tables.
You nearly have a wedding planner, with the help and support you are offered. They know how to handle details and they help you along the way, when this is all new.
Don't get discouraged if you have trouble contacting them initially. You have to go in person to the site. They are so busy with supporting brides at this amazing place. We used their catering service and everyone was happy with the food. The price for everything was great. I felt everyone loved to be able to come to this beautiful place.
I couldn't have asked for more. -

The Atrium was the perfect place to get married. The botanical gardens are beautiful and were perfect for pictures. The venue itself is wonderful. With all the plants and natural beauty, you won't need to spend a bunch of extra money on decorations. They have a perfect patio for the ceremony, if you want to do it outdoors. And the people at the atrium are great. We worked mostly with Ilka, who was professional, responsive, and understanding. -

Beautiful botanical feels!
Looking for a wedding venue can be stressful, especially if you are someone like me who struggles with decorating and having a "vision" for the big day. When we walked into the Meadowlark, I knew this was the venue for us. The room is surrounded with a variety of plants and streams. There are string lights hanging over the dance floor. 80% of the decorations are handled for you just by booking the space. The staff, Bettina and Wayne, were so easy to work with (even through a pandemic!) and the catering is right on site. It makes the planning so much easier when you have a team like that behind you! I would 100% recommend this venue and wish I could have a party there every year :) Thank you Meadowlark!! -

I cannot rave enough about this venue. Not only is it stunningly beautiful, with large windows overlooking the gardens, pre-lit indoor trees, and even a babbling brook (!), but the staff is top-notch. Renee and Wayne were fabulous throughout the planning process (as was Liz of Great Blue Heron Catering, the in-house caterer) and always prompt in responding to email inquiries. They walked us through all the details [regarding our daughter’s wedding] at our final meeting a month prior to the event and were extremely accommodating in all ways…from placement of favors and votive candles, to helping us establish our timeline and discussing table and dance-floor placements.
Our guests are still raving about the food (a great value)—from inventive and delicious appetizers to wonderful entrée options, garnished with perfectly-cooked vegetables and edible orchids. The head chef, Bryan, even thoughtfully arranged for a platter of fruits and cheeses to be available in the Lilac room for the bridal party prior to the event and then followed up with individually plated appetizers for the couple, so they would not miss this aspect of their meal! And he graciously acknowledged the newly-wedded couple in person during the evening, to offer his personal congratulations.
Bianca and the wait-staff the night of our event deserve special mention, too. Our daughter and her fiancé planned for the ceremony to be held on the terrace, which was elegantly arranged, complete with the facility’s own arbor. When the weather became threatening, the staff did not rush us in making the [ultimate] decision to move indoors…even setting up for the contingency, while leaving the outdoor option available until five minutes before the start of the ceremony. At that point, the staff miraculously dismantled the outdoor setting in short order, so that photos would not be impacted! Happily, we were able to enjoy cocktails on the terrace immediately following the ceremony, but the indoor service was just lovely and should not be viewed as a disappointing fallback for future brides and grooms. During dinner and thereafter, the staff remained unfailingly attentive and anticipated the needs of our guests in ways which continue to filter out a week later, as we speak with those who attended.
Thank you, Atrium, for making our first effort at throwing a wedding/reception such a great experience! Your attention to detail was noted in many ways and most probably overlooked in others, as the process flowed so effortlessly. As far as we’re concerned, there is no need for a wedding coordinator with these folks on your side! -

Even in February, this is a beautiful location for photos! Check in with your photographer at the main office so he or she can get a badge. Best times are morning and late afternoon (golden hour lighting) and there are an absurd number of picturesque locations to shoot at. Just bring comfy shoes to walk between as there are a few hilly parts. -

The perfect venue for us!
I cannot even begin to say enough amazing things about The Atrium at Meadowlark. From our first visit to the venue, I was in love with the secret garden/story book vibes and all of the beautiful greenery and glass windows. Throughout the wedding planning, the team at atrium made everything so easy and were so responsive and helpful. They did so much to help us create the most perfect wedding day. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. On the day of the wedding everything was great and everyone was so friendly. My entire family kept talking about how nice and kind everyone was. We had the most amazing day and I wouldn’t have changed a thing. Thank you to Bettina, Wayne and the rest of the team at the Atrium. We appreciate you so much! -

Meant to be!
I knew about Meadowlark from back in my High School years (yes, it's been a while lol); actually chose this location as the wedding location for my project haha. Can't believe we ended up using it as our wedding venue over 10 years later! We were worried the venue would be too small, especially the dance floor area, but it worked out! After looking at several locations in the DMV area, we felt like this one fit our vibe and budget the best. We loved the interior and exterior plants/greenery. The staff was great to work with. There were staff changes, but Meadowlark made sure to inform us and didn't cause any impacts. We ended up working with Esther Kim for the wedding and she's great! Esther, our external event coordinator (Laura), and staff made sure everything was perfect. They really brought our wedding to life, especially our late night snack and cake table. They arranged it so beautifully! Everything went so smoothly, and we really have the Meadowlark Team to thank as well, so thank you guys!! Really appreciated their recommendations, expertise, and touches on what we had. Loved how everything turned out, especially our snack table!! ^_^ -

Truly the Perfect Wedding Venue
I can’t say enough good things about The Atrium! The staff were incredibly helpful, organized, and truly knew what they were doing — every detail was perfectly accounted for. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, and they made sure everything ran seamlessly from start to finish. When there was a chance of rain, the team was so responsive and ready to pivot without hesitation, which made me feel completely at ease. I felt so supported throughout the entire process, and the day couldn’t have been more beautiful. Highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a flawless and stress-free experience! -

My wedding at the Atrium couldn't have been more perfect. Everyone was so helpful leading up to the wedding day as well as on the wedding day. I didn't even have a wedding coordinator as the staff help direct my guests, and keep the flow going. We had our reception at night. Being inside surrounded by flowers and trees at night with candles along the walls was so romantic. I cant thank Scott, Dennis, Renee and the staff enough for making my wedding day so special.
All of the bridesmaids got ready in the Lilly room before the wedding and our caterers brought in appetizers and my signature drink just for us girls. Way to make us feel special! :) I had my catering done through Blue Heron (we had a buffet), and everyone raved about the food. I highly, highly recommend this venue. -

Our daughter got married on January 5, 2013. Because it was a winter wedding, we were afraid that weather would be a factor. It was a beautiful, crisp day and the Atrium was beautifully decorated with white poinsettias and silver accents. Because the venue has a lights tour open to the public on the grounds, we were treated with a beautiful background for our inside reception. From start to finish Renee and Liz attended to every detail with prompt, courteous responses and wonderful suggestions. Bryan, the executive caterer, provided our guests with outstanding appetizers as well as delicious, tender steak and moist, stuffed chicken. We had a significant glitch that evening as the pastor became ill and was not able to perform the ceremony. Bianca did an outstanding job of coordinating another officiant as well as providing a calm demeanor in organizing an alternate time line. We were very pleased with the value and beauty of this venue and can highly recommend it for your wedding and reception. -

Wonderful wedding and reception. Don't cater through Blue Heron though, its incredibly expensive. Also, you cannot bring in outside booze. We had to pay for a bartender to serve beer and wine. The staff was quick and incognito with transitions, and were very helpful in the weeks leading up to our wedding. The Atrium smells fresh like flowers, is practically made of glass windows, and when it starts to get dark, they have lights on the trees that add an awesome ambiance. I highly recommend! =) -

f I had to describe the dream wedding venue it would probably have been the Atrium! It was gorgeous, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We had almost no decorations besides the floral arrangements because the venue itself was so beautiful. Our wedding was fairly small, with around 100 people so the Atrium was the perfect size, and the pictures we took around the garden were stunning! Loved it! -

Fall Wedding
Great venue for our reception (Wedding was a full Mass). We snuck it in just before all the fall color was gone. The staff were excellent and very helpful and the food was wonderful. Peanut is a great bartender and kept everyone happy.
One note to consider. Ours was a smallesh reception (around 50 guests) and there is a minimum charge on the food side so be sure to take that into consideration and upscale your alcohol (spirits and wine) as well as food if that is an option.
Overall we had a fantastic reception and would recommend The Artium to any couple looking for an intimate setting.
There are several open houses held there so be sure to attend one. -

The Atrium was the reception site for our daughter's wedding July 27, 2013. I cannot give enough praise to Liz and her team for the awesome job they did to make our reception a wonderful success. The appetizers and dinner were caterered by the in house caterer, Great Blue Heron. The food was plentiful, and incredibly tasty! We have had many compliments on the expecptional meal. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Atrium to anyone, they were the best!! -

Amazing venue with great staff!
The Atrium at Meadowlark was the perfect venue location. They were very accommodating, their staff was professional, friendly and quickly responsive. The venue itself is breathtaking, with beautiful views. We were fortunate enough to have our dream outdoor wedding on the terrace (which fit our 20 person wedding party, plus bride & groom and 150 guests comfortably), in the middle of November, following an indoor/outdoor cocktail hour and reception. However, the venue was prepared to hold the entire ceremony, cocktail hour and reception in doors if needed due to the weather.
Their venue coordinator, Esther was the absolute best. Esther helped us plan everything for our perfect day, including a floorplan and overall wedding day layout that we loved, assisting with dessert station decor, help selecting the perfect linens and being available for questions that we had along the way.
My only cons, which may or may not be directly a responsibility of the Atrium but I would recommend that every couple does their research on the preferred vendors, as we had a very poor experience with one of their preferred wedding coordinators that we hired, solely on the basis that they were recommended. So please do your research and hire professional and capable vendors that you trust.
I would also recommend communication between the staff running the winter walk of lights with the Atrium personnel, we had several guests on the night of our wedding, during normal hours, be forced to leave the winter walk of lights "if they were part of the wedding" and told that they were permitted from walking through the winter walk of lights in the gardens. My understanding was that this was complimentary for each guest, so we were shocked to recently be advised of this by our guests.
Overall, and regardless of the two aforementioned cons, if given the opportunity, I would pick this venue again, without a doubt! -

I got married here in November and had a great experience with the staff and site. We reserved a sunday at the beginning of the holiday light display season and coordinated our decorations to blend with the site's lights and decorations. It was so easy to work with Wayne - he really understood the space and how to arrange the tables for a group of our size. He calmed me down when I became a ball of stress - a big part of how he did that was he always called me back within a couple of hours of my voicemail. A couple of days before the wedding, he realized that the summer flowers were still planted in the Atrium and were not going to match the winter theme of the wedding so he ran around town to find appropriate flowers and the Atrium horticulturalist spent a night replanting. I was shocked that anyone would go to that degree to help make a reception. I could easily have been the only one who noticed that detail but Wayne and his crew truly went above and beyond to make everything as perfect as possible. The reception was gorgeous! All Wayne's recommendations proved to be fantastic and everything came together better than I imagined. I highly recommend this site, this staff (and the in-house caterers, Great Blue Heron, who I reviewed separately). -

We could not have asked for a more perfect venue for our wedding! The staff at the Atrium were so friendly and everyone was so easy to work with! The tasting was AMAZING! They brought out so much food we had to ask for containers to go, and all of it was excellent! There was not a single thing that we did not like, which made the menu hard to choose. The chef came out and spoke with us and made sure we knew that they could pretty much accommodate anything, just let them know. We were able to drop off all of our decorations the day before the wedding and they set up everything the way we wanted to day of. They helped with the set up to make sure everything flowed just right. The day of event staff was so hands on and very helpful! The chef even came out to make sure we liked the food in the holding room and asked if he could bring us more! The banquet supervisor helped with my train, helped get us dinner, and just made sure everything was flowing smoothly! We highly recommend the Atrium to anyone, you won't be disappointed with the views, service or food! -

We had my daughter's winter wedding (180 guests) at the Atrium and used the in-house caterer Great Blue Heron. There is a winter discount! The venue is open everyday until 2:30 so we had plenty of opportunities to go over to scout, measure, take photos for planning and that really helped. You work separately and together with the Atrium staff and the GBH staff. They were all very responsive and nice to work with. This place makes for a magical looking winter wedding. All the greenery and white poinsettias created a lush environment so any additional flowers would just be a waste. White lights in the trees inside and outside. Our guests had free access to the Winter Walk of Lights and got a huge kick out of taking a stroll during the reception. I would strongly advise to use GBH - they know what they are doing in this space. We heard all night and after that guests had never had such great food at a wedding. Brian is the head chef but I think runs everything and we had a number of conversations with him personally about set up. They really do try and be flexible even though you are in a regional park facility. The bride and groom are vegetarians and we had many people with serious gluten/nut allergies. They created a menu lacking for nothing and they put up the dietary descriptions we created. We had vegetarian, pasta, fish and chicken and don't think for a minute you are missing out by not having beef. And very important, it all was as delicious at the end of the buffet as it was at the beginning. The passed apps and stationary apps were killer. Because this was a winter wedding, the ceremony and table area is the same. They set up the whole room, move the tables to the side and set up the chairs for ceremony seating. As people moved across the little stream to bar area for cocktail hour they move it all into place in about 12 minutes. People were amazed because it is so quick and quiet. -

I did not rent the atrium but had my ceremony on the lake gazebo. What a beautiful place to get the wedding photos every girl dreams of. From the beautiful trees and plants to the rolling hills. It was great and the cost was affordable if you are planning a small event. The only issue is although you reserve the gazebo for exclusive use, they do not offer a way to keep others visiting the garden from entering the gazebo. We had to constantly ask people to leave because we had it reserved for a wedding. Most people were gracious. You have to expect that in a public place. I would recommend the gazebos to everyone. Although, I had beautiful weather, have a back up plan in case mother nature interferes. -

This place is gorgeous. We had our wedding here a couple of weeks ago, and it was the perfect backdrop to a wonderful ceremony and lovely setting for our reception. What's great about the Atrium is that even if it rains, the staff can bring the whole ceremony inside within 5 minutes - and you're still surrounded by real trees, greenery, and a stream. Also, for those who want a little extra time with photographers and videographers - this is THE perfect spot. We didn't have to travel anywhere to find a scenic spot for wedding photos, we simply walked 20 feet from the front door into the gardens, took formal photos within 10 mins with family and the wedding party, and then the rest of the time was ours. Meanwhile, our guests were walking around the gardens during cocktail hour. The Atrium at Meadowlark consistently responded to all of my questions and were quick to provide all the needed information. It was great working with Wayne especially - we could tell he was very experienced and understood weddings like the back of his hand. When we were going through the 30-day walk-through with him, he mapped out our entire wedding flow and the set up ( where to place tables, ceremony, gift areas, program baskets) within minutes. He was super friendly, accommodating, and very professional. Meadowlark's trees and greenery set the perfect mood for our wedding - we're so glad we chose this venue. The "getting ready" area, the Lilac room, was onsite, which made for easy logistics with vendors. We didn't have a planner, and we don't regret that at all - we had a strong team that easily communicated and navigated through the straightforward floor plan. Overall, we highly recommend this place!! Thank you, Wayne & team! ~ N & A

The perfect garden tea party wedding venue
We have nothing but amazing things to say about the Atrium Meadowlark. What a perfect venue! They made everything seamless from start to finish. Our guests are still raving about the food -- thanks to GBH, the on-site caterer. We had the most beautiful weather imaginable on our big day. The outdoor ceremony was perfect, and the indoor reception went wonderfully. The grounds make for the most amazing photos, and to top it all off, the staff are incredibly caring, responsive, and professional. We felt wonderfully cared for every step of the way, and they dealt with the COVID-related nuances better than we could have imagined. Hats off to Bettina, Wayne, and the whole Atrium crew -- they made our special day the best! -

Amazing venue!!!
We absolutely loved having our wedding at the Atrium at Meadowlark! From start to finish, the team at Meadowlark was responsive, flexible, and supportive about every detail of our wedding. The venue is beautiful at any time of year and they do such a wonderful job setting up the space for both ceremony and reception. Every member of their team contributed to making our day special. I cannot recommend them enough!! -

We did not rent the atrium, we only rented the gazebo over the lake. Due to the short notice of the event, they did not have the available date and the price point was beyond our budget, but we really wanted to get married in the gazebo on the lake, and we did :-)
It was absolutely beautiful! We were able to rent just the space, the pictures are amazing, there was a butterfly that danced around us for the ceremony... it couldn't have been more perfect!! (and the best part was that by just renting the space, it was very affordable!!) -

We had an exceptional experience with The Atrium and Great Blue Heron Catering staff. All were very professional, worked well as a team, had excellent communication with each other and with the clients. We would recommend this venue to any and all. -

Elegant venue
This venue is so beautiful to begin with. My son's wedding was at night and the setting was so elegant. The staff was outstanding and the food from their caterer was wonderful. It rained that day so we had to move the wedding indoors. They set it up without any issues. -

Beautiful December Wedding
We fell in love with the Atrium at Meadowlark before we even got to see it in person. It is such a unique space that really brought in the colors and nature we were hoping for. All of the greenery and the little spring/river running through the space is beautiful and really requires little additional decor. Their team was great to work with, responsive, and kind. We also appreciated that they had their own caterer, Great Hearing Catering. This was one less thing to worry about during the wedding planning process and the food was SO GOOD. We had many guests come up to us and tell us how much they enjoyed their dinner. P.S. Be sure to go to Meadowlark’s annual open house. We met so many wonderful vendors there and got to really enjoy the space before the official wedding visits. -

OMG this place was AMAZING! Not only was the place possibly the most beautiful venue ever with its natural floral decor everywhere and beautiful lighting, but the people who work there are some of the nicest people we worked with to put on our wedding. We loved how they have the flexibility to move the wedding indoors quickly if it had rained (luckily it didn't). And the grounds themselves outside the venue are so beautiful as well, they made for great wedding photos. Worth every penny and more. -

A garden fairytale of a wedding!
This is truly my favorite place, and the absolute most beautiful place for a wedding in the DMV area. Our reception was in the Atrium here in June, and by bringing the outdoors in, we did not have to add much decor. The team was phenomenal to work with, and helped me through the multiple date changes #coronabride, made a room layout for our 16 person bridal party and 100 guests, had the sweetest staff catering to us all day and night, and not to mention one of the best meals I've ever had. Our guests are still raving about the dinner here (from Great Blue Heron Catering)! Since this is part of the Nova Parks, the rates are very affordable compared to other venues in the area. If you are at all considering this venue, first check their availability (they are so popular - I did this before we were engaged!) and then book a tour. You will fall in love! -

Meadowlark made our day perfect, when I first saw the ATrium many years ago I knew if I ever married again I would like to have it happen there. And it did. The staff, the food, the flowers, the gardens and the whole day were perfect. The staff outdid themselves, and we were ecstatically happy!!!!! -

The Staff were extremely attentive to our needs and desires and helped make our wedding fantastic. They had no problems working with a gay couple and made us feel extremely comfortable and welcomed. We could not be more pleased. The surroundings are just amazingly beautiful and so well kept. It was like a wedding in paradise. -

A Unique & Beautiful Venue
We could not have asked for a more fitting venue for two bird-, plant-, and nature-lovers to get married. We received so many compliments from our guests on how lovely the venue was and how much they enjoyed being able to stroll in the gardens during cocktail hour and the reception. The staff were very helpful throughout the planning process, and everything went well during the day of the wedding. It was sometimes challenging to find times to visit the space due to the combination of their event schedule and our work schedules, but the staff did their best to accommodate us.-

I absolutely LOVED this venue. I can understand why it gets booked up a year or more in advance... it's a gorgeous place with TONS of places to take pictures. Even though management changed mid-way through our wedding planning, Renee and Liz were wonderful and made our day seamless. They took care of everything down to the littlest detail. I couldnt be happier with how it went... I wish it wouldn't have gone by so quickly!! Meadowlark is truly a wonderful place to get married if you like a garden setting. -

My husband and I chose the atrium for our reception the moment that we walked in. We had a winter wedding two weeks before Christmas and the reception could not have been more beautiful! The Atrium looked beautiful because the staff had decorated for the holidays. This minimized the cost of our flowers and decorations because the Atrium did it all for the holidays! I would recommend trying to book an event there around Christmas or in the spring when the gardens are extra lovely and well decorated! It can be a little expensive but the price includes everything you need for your wedding- tables, chairs, and linens, etc. They also offer a discount for Fairfax County residents. The staff are professional and prompt! I am so glad we picked this place! It looks amazing and beautiful, especially at night! -

We looked at so many venues for our wedding and absolutely fell in LOVE with the Atrium as soon as we walked in! It was an absolutely gorgeous setting for our summer wedding and our guests are still talking about what a great time they had! Renee and Liz were great to work with and always were available to answer our many questions and kept us calm throughout the whole process. The day of the wedding went perfectly and I didn't have to worry about a thing. We used the in-house caterer Blue Heron and the food was delicious and priced very reasonably. I highly recommend this venue!! -

This place is amazing! My husband and I were married there at the beginning of April and could not have dreamed of a better venue. The entire staff was extremely helpful and responsive to all of our questions leading up to the big day and everything the day of ran like a well oiled machine. They definitely know what they're doing and have it down to an art.
We used their in-house catering (Great Blue Heron Catering) and every guest that we talked to said it was the best food that they've ever had at a wedding. The head chef was wonderful and was personally bringing the bridal party ordourves and drinks while we were getting ready in the Lilac room. We also used the other vendors that they recommended for the guests hotel and the cake and were soooo happy with those as well.
The day of the wedding the atrium provided an event "captain" whose name I believe was Christian. He was amazing as well and completely catered to every single need or question we had...which included keeping our glasses filled with champaign the entire night! Not only Christian but the entire staff was great, worked very quickly, and were extremely polite.
My husband grew up visiting Meadowlark and was pretty set on having the wedding there so we didn't get many quotes from other venues. Because of that reason, I'm not really able to comment on the prices at this venue but I can say, that with a guest count of 160, we thought the cost was very reasonable for all the wonderful services that they provided.
I could go on and on about how wonderful this venue and staff were but there's probably not enough room so I'll just end by saying this venue and all the staff is wonderful and we would not have changed a single thing about the night. -

Meadowlark Botanical Gardens is a gorgeous place to get married. The first time we saw it, we simply fall in love with that venue. What I like the most is that the Atrium is a very spacious with glass ceiling and trees and creek inside so you feel that you have the party outside. The staff was really helpful and nice to us and they did a great job. -

This was the most beautiful site for a wedding. One of the reasons we chose this place (aside from it's spectacular views and lush, gorgeous atrium) was the option to have the ceremony outside on the patio. If it happens to rain (which in my case it did), then no worries, everything is easily moved inside and you don't have to worry about a thing! We just received our photos (which we were able to take outside) and they're breathtaking! P.S. - their on-site chef created an amazing meal that everyone is still talking about! -

We had a beautiful ceremony and reception at the Atrium on Oct. 17. For our reception, we hired the Atrium's in-house catering arm, Great Blue Heron. Our wedding guests raved about the beauty of the venue, the bounty of delicious food, and the professional and friendly staff who went out of their way to make all feel welcome.
During the many months leading up to the wedding, we spent a lot of time working with the front office staff (Wayne, Renee, and Cerrena) as well as the catering staff (Chef Bryan, Liz, Lauren, Kristen, and catering captain Chris). We always were so impressed by their friendliness, down-to-earth approach, responsiveness, and flexibility. They were very respectful of our requests regarding food, headcount, and budget. We never felt pushed into a decision, and it felt very collaborative.
The Atrium and GBH always will hold a special place in our hearts; because of them, we and our guests had a wonderful time at our wedding. Highly recommend. -

Meadowlark wasn't my first choice for a wedding venue, but I'm so glad we had our ceremony and reception there. The location is beautiful: there are trees and a little river inside! We got so many comments from guests on how pretty it was inside the Atrium and also what a nice backdrop the grounds made for the ceremony. The staff was a pleasure to work with: very responsive and so accommodating. The Atrium staff as well as Blue Heron catering made our wedding day flow seemingly effortlessly. -

The Atrium at Meadowlark is a stunning location to hold a wedding ceremony and/or reception and my fiance and I fell in love with the place at first sight. However, what makes or breaks a location isn't just how it looks, it is your experience with the staff, especially during wedding planning which can be very stressful. Every experience we had with the staff at the Atrium was wonderful. They are responsive, professional, knowledgeable, and nice to work with. As a bride in the midst of juggling work and wedding planning, they made my life easier. And then, it got even better. The day of our wedding went so smoothly. They are so prepared and organized. The staff is lovely and attentive. My guests were amazed. We could not have chosen a better venue. Also, for future brides: our wedding was held in late November. If you are concerned with having a winter wedding at a botanical garden, don't be. It was beautiful and the indoor temperature was perfect. I was concerned with using one room for the ceremony and reception, but it went off without a hitch. Starting in mid-November, the Atrium is decorated with holiday lights and flowers which added a romantic and festive feeling to my wedding. Also, outdoors there is a winter light show on the grounds that your guests will love. -

This is the most beautiful venue I've ever been to. The botanical garden was such a beautiful setting for photos and the atrium looks so romantic at night. The staff was very professional and helpful in planning our day. We had to postpone our wedding reception three times during the pandemic but the people at meadowlark we're so kind, flexible and understanding. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a real knockout. -

After researching wedding venues in MD, PA, CA and NY, a friend suggested we visit Meadowlark Botanical Gardens near Tysons Corner, where he recently had hosted his daughter's wedding. So glad we did. It was a gorgeous, magical day for our son and daughter in law's wedding thanks to the professionalism of the Meadowlark Atrium and GBH Caterimg Staff! Everything went smoothly thanks to the attentiveness and flexibility provided by Cerrena and Kristin. We received exceptional service that began with the magnificent food tasting event with Chef Bryan. We had exquisite appetizers during cocktail hour and a mouthwatering buffet (included beef tenderloin) and premium full open bar. Bryan agreed to stuff canollis that we brought. He could not have been more wonderful to work with. Everything was absolutely DELICIOUS! The evening was flawless thanks to the outstanding service and hospitality provided by Christian (Captain) snd his wonderful team (April was the only name I caught). All the guests were impressed with the warm hospitality and the natural beauty of the venue. BTW- we didn't have an official wedding planner working with the venue. These folks have got it down to a science and are very accommodating. It truly was a night to remember and the value just cannot be beat!!!

The staff, both on the venue side and the catering side, were extremely helpful and responsive. They answered our questions as they came up, and they were always ready to provide suggestions when we weren't sure about something. My husband is a chef, and he was specifically impressed that the catering chef was out at the buffet making sure everything was presented appropriately on the day of our wedding. -

Our daughter's wedding on 10/12/2012 was all that she (and we) had hoped for at The Atrium at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. The entire process, from initial visit through wedding ceremony & reception was 100% perfect. The entire staff was exceptional in their professionalism and execution -- care and concern that all was right was in the forefront of every detail. As for the chef and staff of Great Blue Heron catering (on-site caterers), there are no words to express how incredibly every part of the cocktail hour and dinner was prepared and presented -- by far, the most delicious food we have every experienced at an event of this nature! Will look forward to another event visit -- hopefully soon :) -

Beautiful November Wedding at the Atrium!
We were so, so pleased with Meadowlark as a venue for our November 2023 wedding! The venue was beyond beautiful inside and outside, and we even had the Meadowlark Walk of Lights outside that added pizazz to the night! The Meadowlark staff was professional, courteous, and did a great job seeing us through the entire wedding planning process. Thank you to Esther, Wayne, and the crew for all they did every step of the way to support us--from touring us around the venue, answering questions via email and phone, and providing expert advice and support as we navigated all of the many decisions along the way.
.
.
An FYI just for planning purposes: Meadowlark is technically a separate org from Great Blue Heron, the catering company. So while they partner together, for planning purposes, consider them separate vendors and email/coordinate with them as such. In addition, we had a little glitch in the NOVA Parks system and weren't receiving their automated emails--so if you don't get emails after you contract, be sure to ask in case that has happened. -

We had the most amazing experience working with Wayne, Bettina, and the GBH catering team at the Atrium. The new covid restrictions limiting gatherings to 25 guests was announced literally one week before our wedding so we were scrambling to make so many last minute changes and they made everything so easy for us - we went from 65 to 22 guests (our original estimate in 2019 when we booked our date was 150 guests), buffet to plated dinner, stationary appetizers to passed hors d'oeuvres only, and full bar to only beer & wine. In addition to the superb service, the venue itself is absolutely gorgeous and unique. We also loved that our guests had access to the botanical gardens and the Winter Walk of Lights! -

I would highly recommend the Meadowlark Gardens. The staff was terrific, the Gardens were gorgeous, and everything was just so perfect and easy. The rates were quite reasonable as well- especially for county residents.
Please feel free to email me if you want more specifics! -

We were SO glad we chose Meadowlark as our venue. The staff was responsive, the food was delicious, and the space was absolutely beautiful. They have discounts on off-season months (for us, February) which is how we were able to afford such a nice place, and we couldn't have been happier that it worked out. -

We wanted to do a small/medium winter wedding but wanted to stay away from the hotels and country club feel. The atrium was perfect. Their venue was beautiful and picture perfect. It's in a beautiful and convenient neighborhood near Tyson's Corner. The lighting is nice and becomes very elegant at night. The plants and foliage saved us a lot in floral and lighting costs. We didn't really have to do much and it was beautiful. Ilka and Wayne are helpful and responsive. Their insights helped us save on having to hire a wedding planner for a lot of the day of logistics. They also include a lot of details (chairs, arbor, ceremony chairs, etc..) if you go through their caterer that other places were trying to upcharge us for. We also used the in house caterer and are glad we did. I am picky about my food and they were delicious. They have a wonderful selection and Brian the chef thinks through the menu to keep it from feeling like a dreary standard hotel meal. They also had a nice discount in February because it was off peak. We are thrilled we chose the Atrium as our venue. It was a perfect backdrop for a perfect day. -

I had my wedding on November 15th and couldn't have been more pleased with everything the Atrium had to offer! I had no idea the venue even existed until the wedding process. We had our wedding during the first weekend of the light show which made the venue even more gorgeous then it already was! The indoor stream and greenery made the venue really unique to a lot of places around the area. Everyone we corresponded with there were extremely professional and were very responsive to anything we needed! The catering company that the Atrium uses (Blue Heron) was also superb and we have had multiple people tell us that was the best wedding food they have had. Overall, the place is FANTASTIC and creates the most beautiful backdrop for a wedding. I was overwhelmed at how great everything turned out there and would recommend this venue to anyone getting married during any season!! -
