This venue is beautiful and was exactly what we wanted! Shoug and Wayne were lovely to work with. We went into our walk-through with a long list of questions/requests and were honestly shocked (and grateful) that Shoug said yes to all of them! She even offered to coordinate with our rentals vendor, even though we didn't choose one of their preferred partners (shout out to Sammy's rentals--half the price of the linens from the preferred partners and they've done a bunch of Atrium events, so they know Shoug and the space very well!) That was honestly a big relief to hand that over to her. GBH catering is their in-house, and it was perfectly fine for what we were looking for. They were very flexible and able to work with several dietary needs from our guests. They also pivoted smoothly when there was a very sudden change from our dessert vendor. All in all, I would recommend this venue to anyone, but especially folks who live in Northern VA (you get a little resident discount).

The Atrium was everything we wanted in a venue, a beautiful natural setting with lots of greenery! We really wanted an outdoor ceremony, but didn't want to be disappointed if the weather didn't cooperate. We got lucky and had the perfect weather for a fall wedding on the terrace, but had that not worked out we would have had just as beautiful a ceremony inside looking at the same view through the big greenhouse-like windows! The staff was easy to work with and the in house caterer's food was excellent. We particularly liked that they gave us the option to serve family style (so they brought big platters of everything to each table rather than do a plated or buffet service). Highly recommend that option: it created a lovely intimate feeling for dinner. Multiple guests have commented to me how much they enjoyed it

Our wedding was at Meadowlark in early November, shortly after the time change. We had a nice weather day that allowed for a perfect setup of the ceremony on the outside patio and the reception in the atrium. The light of the setting sun at 4pm was stunning.

From our first meeting with the Atrium staff, they were attentive and informative. The venue has a ton of live greenery already throughout the space, making it a naturally beautiful place for weddings. We also found the price to be very reasonable for the area, especially considering that in-house catering is part of booking the Atrium (guests raved about our buffet dinner!).

The Atrium is an extremely busy venue, so if you book here and feel that communication is a little slow, know that their team isn't dropping the ball. The tasting night and all planning meetings were organized and put us at ease heading into our wedding week - though it definitely helped that we were organized and prepped for that face time, too.

On our wedding day, the venue team over-delivered with some nice small touches at the bar and excellent set-up and service. We can't recommend this venue enough if you're looking for a place to host your entire event and want catering, tables/chairs, and lots of natural beauty built in!

We could not have asked for a more fitting venue for two bird-, plant-, and nature-lovers to get married. We received so many compliments from our guests on how lovely the venue was and how much they enjoyed being able to stroll in the gardens during cocktail hour and the reception. The staff were very helpful throughout the planning process, and everything went well during the day of the wedding. It was sometimes challenging to find times to visit the space due to the combination of their event schedule and our work schedules, but the staff did their best to accommodate us.

As soon as we took a tour of the Atrium, we knew this was the perfect spot to get married. The gardens are beautiful, and the inside the building the glass walls, plants, and little river give an airy and natural feel. I didn't worry about rain because you feel like you're outside even when you're in. When guests got too hot on the dance floor, they could go out and socialize on the patio overlooking the gardens in the cool night air. Given the meal prices for comparable venues, this venue is GREAT VALUE!! The food was great and the guests were happy.

There were a couple small things that might be helpful to share, though. Our point of contact changed several times in the span of our engagement and there was sometimes a delay in communication. Also, the venue was marketed as a capacity of 200 people but it is better suited to weddings of 160-180 guests. When you go over 180, you have to choose some guests to seat in a room that feels divided by the little stream which is awkward. Also, there is no space for getting ready so brides and bridesmaids have to get ready off-site. Overall, I was overjoyed with having my wedding day here and I think for the price we still had an incredible experience. I don't regret it at all!!

I knew about Meadowlark from back in my High School years (yes, it's been a while lol); actually chose this location as the wedding location for my project haha. Can't believe we ended up using it as our wedding venue over 10 years later! We were worried the venue would be too small, especially the dance floor area, but it worked out! After looking at several locations in the DMV area, we felt like this one fit our vibe and budget the best. We loved the interior and exterior plants/greenery. The staff was great to work with. There were staff changes, but Meadowlark made sure to inform us and didn't cause any impacts. We ended up working with Esther Kim for the wedding and she's great! Esther, our external event coordinator (Laura), and staff made sure everything was perfect. They really brought our wedding to life, especially our late night snack and cake table. They arranged it so beautifully! Everything went so smoothly, and we really have the Meadowlark Team to thank as well, so thank you guys!! Really appreciated their recommendations, expertise, and touches on what we had. Loved how everything turned out, especially our snack table!! ^_^

We are so happy we chose to have our wedding at the Atrium! We loved its uniqueness and the little special details, like the running water and the lights in the trees. All of our guests thought it was beautiful! Shoug was very helpful throughout the wedding planning process, especially as we designed our floorplan and wanted a head table. There were some issues with responsiveness. I think the venue could benefit from additional staff - there were some times we had to follow-up on emails or reach out to schedule our own walk-through, and we got the impression they were quite busy managing the wedding season with limited staff. Our walk-through was 30 min behind schedule. They also gave our day-of coordinator silver card number holders when we requested gold, but that was an understandable error. The catering team was also moderately responsive (some errors we had to catch, didn't seem super on top of emails) but they were able to help us out with our dessert table when we ordered cookies from Insomnia, which we appreciated. Despite some issues with communication, we enjoyed working with Shoug and the venue. Overall we would highly recommend the venue!

As a photographer, this was a beautiful venue to work at! Grounds are big for different backdrops and the scenery is amazing, especially a sunset. very helpful staff as well.

We fell in love with the Atrium at Meadowlark before we even got to see it in person. It is such a unique space that really brought in the colors and nature we were hoping for. All of the greenery and the little spring/river running through the space is beautiful and really requires little additional decor. Their team was great to work with, responsive, and kind. We also appreciated that they had their own caterer, Great Hearing Catering. This was one less thing to worry about during the wedding planning process and the food was SO GOOD. We had many guests come up to us and tell us how much they enjoyed their dinner. P.S. Be sure to go to Meadowlark’s annual open house. We met so many wonderful vendors there and got to really enjoy the space before the official wedding visits.

The Atrium at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens was everything we could ever ask for in a wedding ceremony and reception venue. The unique indoor space with large windows and beautiful winter decorations (our wedding was held in December) was a perfect match for us. Their in-house catering, Great Blue Heron Catering, was also a great vendor to work with and offered many options for meals and bar packages. All staff we interacted with from the day of our menu tasting through the day of the wedding, were very friendly and professional. We appreciate the team at Atrium at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens for helping to make our event a night to remember.

The Atrium at Meadowlark was the perfect venue location. They were very accommodating, their staff was professional, friendly and quickly responsive. The venue itself is breathtaking, with beautiful views. We were fortunate enough to have our dream outdoor wedding on the terrace (which fit our 20 person wedding party, plus bride & groom and 150 guests comfortably), in the middle of November, following an indoor/outdoor cocktail hour and reception. However, the venue was prepared to hold the entire ceremony, cocktail hour and reception in doors if needed due to the weather.
Their venue coordinator, Esther was the absolute best. Esther helped us plan everything for our perfect day, including a floorplan and overall wedding day layout that we loved, assisting with dessert station decor, help selecting the perfect linens and being available for questions that we had along the way.
My only cons, which may or may not be directly a responsibility of the Atrium but I would recommend that every couple does their research on the preferred vendors, as we had a very poor experience with one of their preferred wedding coordinators that we hired, solely on the basis that they were recommended. So please do your research and hire professional and capable vendors that you trust.
I would also recommend communication between the staff running the winter walk of lights with the Atrium personnel, we had several guests on the night of our wedding, during normal hours, be forced to leave the winter walk of lights "if they were part of the wedding" and told that they were permitted from walking through the winter walk of lights in the gardens. My understanding was that this was complimentary for each guest, so we were shocked to recently be advised of this by our guests.
Overall, and regardless of the two aforementioned cons, if given the opportunity, I would pick this venue again, without a doubt!

We were so, so pleased with Meadowlark as a venue for our November 2023 wedding! The venue was beyond beautiful inside and outside, and we even had the Meadowlark Walk of Lights outside that added pizazz to the night! The Meadowlark staff was professional, courteous, and did a great job seeing us through the entire wedding planning process. Thank you to Esther, Wayne, and the crew for all they did every step of the way to support us--from touring us around the venue, answering questions via email and phone, and providing expert advice and support as we navigated all of the many decisions along the way.

An FYI just for planning purposes: Meadowlark is technically a separate org from Great Blue Heron, the catering company. So while they partner together, for planning purposes, consider them separate vendors and email/coordinate with them as such. In addition, we had a little glitch in the NOVA Parks system and weren't receiving their automated emails--so if you don't get emails after you contract, be sure to ask in case that has happened.

Amazing wedding venue!! My husband and I decided to get married here after visiting the garden to see holiday lights during one of our first date years ago. We are so happy we did! It's an absolutely stunning venue, and the garden looks beautiful in any season! Our wedding was on a rainy fall day, and although we didn't have the outdoor ceremony we were hoping for, I wouldn't change a thing. The Atrium looked so stunning for our ceremony and even more beautiful during the reception! Esther was incredibly helpful in the couple months leading up to our wedding, making sure we had our final guest list and seating chart together, and working with us and our coordinator to ensure everything was set up just as we needed. Additionally, we had a half Indian wedding with a Baraat, so it was important for us to find a venue that could accommodate this, and needless to say, the Atrium did so beautifully. It ended up being the best day in a beautiful venue that we will look back on and treasure for years to come!

We decided to celebrate our wedding here because my husband proposed to me at the Winter walk of lights. And we couldn’t be happier with our decision. We saved so much money on decoration because the venue itself is breathtaking. Our wedding felt like a fairy tale because we were surrounded by so many flowers and plants. If you are a potential client, I highly recommend you come take a look!

We had our wedding at the Atrium in September and had a great experience. The staff was always incredibly helpful and the food through GBH was great. If you haven't already seen the venue, go visit. It is absolutely beautiful inside with trees, string lights, plants, windows overlooking the garden, and a little stream. We loved that it did not require much, if any, extra decor. We thought the entire process from booking the wedding to the actual wedding day was fairly smooth and have no complaints.

The atrium is gorgeous, climate controlled, and has the perfect setting for weddings.

From our first visit to the Atrium at Meadowlark, we were in love with the beautiful glass building and surroundings. It is the perfect combination of nature and romance. The team at Meadowlark was responsive and guided us through every detail of our wedding, helping create a wonderful experience for our guests - and for us. Everyone says that something always goes wrong during a wedding, but ours went off without a hitch and I'm certain that it's due in part to selecting the perfect venue.

The Atrium at Meadowlark was perfect! The gardens are amazing, the reception area is beautiful, and the staff was fantastic. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how awesome the venue was, from the natural beauty to the delicious food. Our reception was executed exactly as we wanted it, and that wouldn't have been possible without the fantastic staff at the Atrium. We are so happy with our choice, and recommend this venue to any potential NOVA couples.

There were a few things I wish had been smoother with planning and preparation/communication but overall the day of was fantastic. Everyone loved the venue. They helped me set up a bunch of things. I did not have a wedding planner or wedding party, so they expressed concern, but everything was fine with setup. All the staff the day of were amazing and helpful. The venue itself is so beautiful and I would 100% use them again. The food was also fantastic, and many guests said it was one of the best meals they'd had at a wedding.

Very beautiful and Green / Natural Venue I have ever seen!!

This venue is incredible. My photographs came out amazing because of the view!
We did our wedding on Sunday, October 16th, we had the changing leaves and it was very beautiful.
On my wedding day, it was not so cold so we could take our pictures outside.
They change the flower and decorations each season, so you can have a seasonal wedding anytime!

The workers were very kind and so nice!
They will respond to you fast if you send an email than call, so be careful.
My coordinator was very organized and took care of me a lot.

They have their own catering service, and I highly recommend that you should use them.
The catering team did an amazing job and was perfect. The bartenders worked very fast too. The foods were very delicious and all of my guests loved it.

We absolutely loved our wedding at Meadowlark! The event went smoothly and everyone had a great time. Big kudos to Bettina and her assistant for making the event so perfect!! We had 150 guests (so on the larger side for the venue) and there was enough room for everyone to mingle and dance and enjoy drinks etc. I love the twinkling lights in the trees and the gardens were stunning. Perfect for couple photos! All of our requests were handled and everything went on time etc. We were so happy with how it turned out and our guests raved about the venue and how unique it was. Also the Great Blue Heron catering food was so excellent— even better than the tasting! We were very happy with how nice everything turned out. Filet was cooked perfectly. My favorite was the purple roasted carrots that we paired with salmon. Well done!!!

I also want to give some tips for couples considering meadowlark for a wedding venue:

1) Buy tea candles or big candles to line the stream in the venue. It really adds to the elegance!

2) Buy chargers for the place settings. The caterer does not provide them and so we bought them cheap from Bed Bath and Beyond and they looked amazing and really added to the decor.

3) Do a flower arch/canopy of some kind for the outdoor patio space. Meadowlark can provide a wooden one or you can rent one and your florist can add the flowers. The patio has plenty of greenery and flowers but a flower arch really elevates it for the ceremony!

4) Rent the golf cart there so you can really get around the property easily for photos. That was extremely helpful for us and saved us lots of walking.

5) We highly recommend uplighting for the venue (matching your color scheme). Our DJ provided it and it looked so beautiful with our flowers and made the venue more romantic when the sun went down.

6) For the ceremony outside, if it’s going to be hot, ask catering to add a water station for outside. It’s not very expensive and they make it nice with fruit or mint flavored water in nice glass containers. We also provided fans to all of our guests which helped keep them cool.

7) Rain is a risk for this venue so just keep that in mind. The primary appeal of the venue is the outdoor space because of photos in the gardens and the all glass Atrium that face the gardens. If it rains, there is really no great space for photos which can be an issue when you’re spending lots of money on a photographer. Also if it rains, although the reception is inside, it does cause a problem for the ceremony. They can do it inside but they either have to flip the room (with all your guests watching it happen which I imagine is chaotic) or do the ceremony with everyone sitting at their tables except for one or two rows of chairs for VIPs. That may not be what you want or the feel you are going for the ceremony. We got extremely lucky that the rain stopped 2 hours before the wedding so we could have our wedding on the gorgeous patio and did plenty of photos throughout the gardens. But we were nervous up until that point! So just pointing out that rain is a risk for this venue unless you are ok with them flipping the room in front of all of your guests during cocktail hour or having a more awards ceremony (seated at tables) feel for the ceremony.

8) They are going to be extremely slow with billing/invoicing because they are so busy with 2-3 weddings per weekend and only a couple of people on staff. But don’t worry, it’ll get done! But ya we didn’t get our final invoice for the food until 4-5 days before the wedding.

9) Consider asking about arranging tables in long rows rather than all circular tables (have a mix of both). We couldn’t do that because of our wedding size but if you have a smaller wedding, I’ve seen on their Instagram page that other weddings have done this and it looks great. It’s a creative use of the space and looks elegant!

10) Although I believe the venue advertises that it can hold over 200 people, in reality I think 150 was the perfect number without it being too crowded or having to put tables in the back bar area. We were very happy with the size we had but I think if we had 175 like we originally thought we would it would have been crowded for that space.

We absolutely loved our wedding at The Atrium at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. The space is incredibly beautiful - both inside the Atrium and the surrounding gardens. Bettina and Wayne work so hard, and they did a great job ensuring everything ran smoothly both in the planning phase and day-of. The food by Great Blue Heron was delicious, and was somehow even more delicious day-of than our tasting. Everything was absolutely perfect and we couldn't recommend this venue highly enough!
