Amazing photographers

Marcus and Mike were amazing. We were very pleased with how many moments that they were able to capture without us having to ask. During the reception, I felt like every time I looked up Mike was right there ready to capture the pictures for me without me having to flag him down. They also did amazing with working separately with the Bride and Groom's parties to ensure pictures were able to be taken before the ceremony while still ensuring that neither the Bride or Groom saw each other. They also ensured to accommodate the elderly family members in our pictures to get them chairs as needed and take the pictures as quickly as possible. Mike and Marcus also worked really great together when trying to capture pictures on the dance floor to ensure the lighting was perfect but that they did not bother anyone while dancing. My wedding was only 10 days ago so I have no received the photos yet but I have all the confidence that Marcus and Mike did an amazing job and I will be highly satisfied just based on how the ceremony and reception went with them.

Made us feel so comfortable

You’ll want to have The Annapolis Photographer with you on your wedding day! The team not only takes natural and creative photos that tell a story but they make everyone comfortable and enjoy themselves. We never felt more natural in front of camera and had a ton of fun at our engagement and wedding sessions. Marcus was relaxed, flexible and had our backs. The combination of his work and the energy he brings in priceless.

Great service, great price

I needed a last minute photographer and Marcus responded so quickly! He gave me a phone call and helped me with the process. My photos turned out great and he was very reasonable with pricing. He worked within my budget and I got access to 500+ gorgeous photos in a timely manner. I highly recommend the Annapolis Photographer!

Fantastic Service!

My husband and I had the best experience with the Annapolis Photographer. They listened to what we wanted and provided great suggestions. I appreciated that they allowed to create a list of shots we wanted before the event so the evening ran very smoothly. They arrived early and stayed the entire event. Goes out of his way to make your experience special

Marcus did an amazing job with our daughters wedding. She had a small ceremony at the courthouse with a reception to follow a few hours later. Marcus set up a laptop at the reception and displayed photos he had taken of the family at the ceremony. This was not something the bride had planned but I asked Marcus if he thought he could pull it off and he did. Everyone at the reception really enjoyed seeing the photos and the bride and groom did as well!

Great experience and amazing pictures!

Talked a few days before wedding and was already prepared for photos I wanted

Marcus and Michael did amazing photography for my wedding! Very professional with great personality and Good humor. We talked about pictures I wanted few days before and everything went so smoothly. After seeing the wedding photos, I could not have picked a better team than these guys as the work they do together make the pictures so amazing and beautiful. They are there and ready for every special moment including the guests. I honestly don't usually write reviews but these guys deserve it and I would highly recommend them.... Friendly and easy to work with

Everything about working with Marcus was very smooth. I liked that initial appointments could be made online, made it very convenient to see when he was available. We ended up only needing one meeting because Marcus had a good sense of what we wanted. He was easy to get in touch with whenever questions came up. He has a very friendly personality and was great to work with during the reception. The photos turned out great. Highly recommend working with this group!

Marcus, the owner was very easy to work with. Felt like one of the family on our special day. Working with Marcus and Michael on our family's very special occasion was a treat!! The Annapolis Photgrapher company was both personable and perfessional. The Annapolis Photographer photographed my Annapolis wedding in September and I couldn't be happier with the results. They were professional, courteous, and very accommodating every step of the way. Marcus was very easy to work with. We wanted a relaxed atmosphere for our wedding, not a big production and he was able to capture that in his pictures. He fit our budget, but also had the experience to produce good photos. He called a few days before the wedding to review everything we wanted. He called the morning of the wedding to assure us he would see us later in the day. That was one less thing for us to worry about as we rushed around the morning of the wedding trying to get ready! We received our pictures as promised. He was flexible as far as ordering albums after the wedding - we did not have to commit to anything beforehand. He even made the most of some rain on our wedding day by taking some great umbrella photos!

Marcus and his team exceeded my expectations for photography. From the beginning, Marcus showed great initiative to make sure he got to know my husband and I and understand what we wanted from a wedding photographer. The day itself was perfect, with each photographer (we had two) making sure to capture the best candid moments as well as take advantage of the scenery and lighting outside for great pictures. You NEED to hire the Annapolis Photographer for your wedding. I just got my pictures back and I could not be happier. Marcus and his team did such an incredible, fantastic, amazing job. I always hate the way I look in pictures, so I was very nervous about getting the wedding pictures back. I had nothing to be nervous about. I don't know what kind of magic Marcus was using, but he made me, my husband, and all of our guests look wonderful. I literally can't stop smiling! Marcus, the Annapolis photographer, is a professional in every sense of the word. He is first rate and helped me decide on a lot of things I was unsure of. I thought he was great in the way he worked with me to lay out my photos, which turned out to have meaning and captured many of the emotions of my wedding, so that the photos, beautiful in themselves, told the story of that day that was so special with my fiancé. Plus his rates are reasonable. Super nice guy!

Marcus and David are amazing! They took beautiful photos of my wedding! Our photos are even getting featured in Looking Good Magazine in Annapolis! I was thrilled! My only issue was that they didn't get photos of the reception venue without people in it. So I didn't really have just a picture of my empty tent on empty tables.

They were great about setting people properly so the photos look balanced and they had tons of ideas for photos!

We even had a drone shot of all the guests at the wedding!!! One of my favs!

They were also super flexible, I was never able to get my engagement photos taken due to weather, (we rescheduled 3 times) However, instead we had them shoot our rehearsal dinner which I think was the best idea ever. I would definitely call them again if I need a photographer!

I would say, don't bother to check into any other Photographer, just hire the Annapolis Photographer! He and his assistants are just wonderful to work with and the pictures are superb!

Marcus is an amazing photographer! My wife is beautiful every minute of every day, but Marcus even made ME look good in our pictures. From our engagement shoot to our outdoor wedding during a heat advisory, he made everything relaxed and fun. It was important to us that we work with an artist and not just a journalist. Marcus was our wedding photographer and went above and beyond to make our experience amazing, He was professional and super personable. We initially did our engagement session with him so he could get to know us a bit. Once it was time for the wedding, he captured the most amazing photos!!! Make sure you do your research and compare vendors and pricing. If you're looking for quality work at a fair price, The Annapolis Photographer is a great way to go. Not only great pics & prices but they were extremely professional getting what we wanted on the day of directing everyone where they needed be. My son has autism and we were impressed with how well Marcus was patient with him and got him to cooperate. We couldn't be happier with the outcome.

I am speechless! Annapolis Photography SAVED MY WEDDING DAY! I was not going to hire a professional photographer due to the expense and a friend of mine's daughter (who is an apprentice) offered to shoot my wedding as a gift to us. However, the Monday before our wedding we found out she didn't have the right equipment to accurately take indoor still shots or evening shots without sunlight. Marcus just so happened to be there at the venue that night witnessing our discoveries. He offered to shoot 2.5-3 hours of my wedding and reception for an extreme discount! Marcus was amazing from beginning to end. We did engagement photos and wedding photos. He captured all the moments that were special to me and a few I hadn't even thought of! Selecting the photographer was of the most important parts of planning the wedding to me and Marcus surpassed my expectations and I would certainly use him again. In fact we had him come take newborn pictures and family photos.

Marcus was wonderful. He took the time to meet with me, listened to what and how I wanted things - he even wrote them down. When my vow renewal day came, he was there on time, with a smile on his face. The day does go fast, but I had the pictures I wanted, (even though I forgot about them) because Marcus took the time to write them down and remind me.

I met with several different photographers for my wedding. I was immediately impressed with Marcus' work and professionalism. He was also very personable and made sure to show us many different options that we could chose from, as we were on a budget. I met with a few other photographers after my meeting with Marcus and no one impressed me as much as he did. In the end, I am EXTREMELY happy that we went with our instincts and chose The Annapolis Photographer. He was very thorough, met with us before the wedding to review important photos and timeline for the wedding. At the wedding, he was fantastic! Was right there to capture every great photo opportunity. He was organized and got all of the pictures taken, while still ensuring guests were able to attend cocktail hour and not wrapped up in hours of pictures. The end result is phenomenal. I just reviewed my photos and could not have asked for any more! I truly feel that my special day was captured exactly as I would have dreamed. Thank you, Marcus!

We couldn't have been happier with the service and images from our wedding which we just finished going through online. Marcus and his team did everything they promised, organizing our groups and keeping things moving made things go smooth and on schedule. Marcus was very professional and took all the pictures I asked him to without question. We had a 50th Anniversary Vow Renewal Ceremony and full Reception just like a wedding. From day one we knew what we wanted and had a tough time finding a photographer that would work with us until we came to The Annapolis Photographer. Our requests were no problem for Marcus. We chose Marcus because we felt his sample pictures showed real unique vision and "voice". He did not disappoint! We just got through viewing the pictures and they are magical! He did a superb job of capturing our day and caught all those little extra moments that we had forgotten about. His packages where a great value but he is worth twice the price. Marcus was fantastic! He was so friendly and warm; he really put everyone at ease. Lots of our guests commented on how good he was, especially with getting the little children to look at him and smile. He was very professional and very responsive to all our questions, and gave great value for the price; Marcus really worked with us to make sure that we got everything we wanted and still stay within our budget. We received our photos back quickly and they were fantastic! I usually don't like seeing pictures of myself but the wedding photos were great--I can't wait to get them put up in our home. Overall it was a stress-free, fun experience working with him. Highly recommended!

A wonderful experience. I've heard nightmare stories from my cousin on how their wedding photographer was rude and not enjoyable to spend the day with. We have fantastic pictures and the albums look incredible. The Annapolis Photographer gets my highest recommendation.

Marcus and his "co-captain" Richard were hands down some of the most understanding, thoughtful, FUN people we have encountered. With our original photographer canceling two days before the wedding, Marcus stepped in and we could not have been more pleased with the outcome. He made our stressful situation SO worth it. We were pleased to have Marcus photograph our daughter's wedding. He was very easy to work with and very willing to accommodate our requests for the pictures we wanted to record this very special day.
From the first time we met with Marcus we were at ease with talking with him, sharing our thoughts for what we expected and very pleased with the photographs he shared with us. My wedding day was the most wonderful day of my life and I couldn't have asked for a better photographer to capture the day than Marcus from The Annapolis Photographer. From our first meeting, I knew right away Marcus would be perfect for our event. He was so attentive to all of our needs. He first did an engagement session and usually I think those photos can look corny but he did a wonderful job. They looked so natural and we learned a lot that helped us feel comfortable in front of the camera on our wedding day. On the wedding day, Marcus and his team were very professional and timely. As a bride you worry about so much so it was nice to not have to worry about the photos since I knew Marcus would do the best job possible. When I got the photos, I was so happy. His editing and creativeness really blew me away. He worked really closely with me to create the perfect photo album. It's something we really cherish. Upon seeing our photos, we were totally convinced that we had made the right decision in hiring Marcus to shoot our wedding. The photos were crisp and wonderfully color-balanced. He made sure to get in the right position for ceremony, speeches, and dances. We got some great posed shots, as well as more candid moments. He did a great job building a respectful rapport with us and our guests, as well, and thus made everyone just that much more comfortable to pose for photos.

On the day of the wedding, he was great. He showed up early to get comfortable with the venue. I talked with him, and knew that everything was under control from his standpoint, and that I would have one less thing to worry about – a very nice thing on the big day. We had a list of family shots we wanted from the gathering, and he diligently worked through those with us. And then when the time came, we chose places where the lighting worked well and he added his touch to make it a beautifully lasting photo.

To boot, Marcus talked me through the downloading process for our photos, and he should add “tech support” to his list of capabilities!

I found Marcus through a recommendation from the Hyatt in Cambridge, MD. I was doing an out of state wedding. My husband & I couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. Both Marcus and Jandee were awesome. Our pictures turned out amazing and I couldn't have been more impressed with our wedding album. I highly recommend The Annapolis Photographer. After visiting 3 well known photographers in the Annapolis area we decided on The Annapolis Photographer and glad we did. From our initial meeting at the studio through the engagement session until the delivery of our album we were totally impressed with their professionalism. The combination of artistry and ability to manage such a large event as ours is a true talent Marcus and his crew have down pat. Marcus took the time to listen to what we were looking for and make a dream reality. They arrived early in cool-all black outfits and got all the photos to tell the story of our day without us even knowing they were there most of the time. The mix of traditional and candid photos were perfect to satisfy both parents and myself and my fiance. The Annapolis Photographer literally saved my wedding. The photographer that I had booked months in advance of my wedding called me two days before the big day and said he was unable to attend. Marcus called me and was able to completely alleviate my fears. On the day of the wedding, he was courteous, professional and spent the whole day with a smile on his face. My husband and I recently worked with Marcus for our wedding in Annapolis and had a wonderful experience! We were initially interested in working with him because he was familiar with both the church service and the reception venue, and our initial meeting with him confirmed he was definitely the right photographer for us. From the emails/phone calls prior to the wedding up to the day-of, he was friendly, responsive, and professional. And most importantly - the pictures are amazing!!

A few things stood out to that we found really great in working with him...
1) The hotel room we were getting ready in was really tight once we had the Bride, Mother of Bride, BM's, and Hair/Makeup team in there but the photos of us all getting ready turned out great and he was definitely able to work with the space limitations.
2) He was great working with the kids! Our wedding party had 2 flower girls and a ring bearer ages 3-5. It was definitely a long day for them but Marcus was able to get them to smile and stay focused so we could get the pictures at the church.
3) My husband and I decided not to take formal/wedding party photos during cocktail hour so we could enjoy the time talking with our guests. This was kind of a last minute decision by my husband and myself so we thought we just wouldn't get those pictures. After the first dance Marcus quickly found the wedding party and took us all outside to get the photos by the water before the sun went down. It was no more than 10 minutes and the photos turned out absolutely wonderful - you would have no idea how little time they took. We really appreciated the fact that we lose any time with our guests and still got the pictures we wanted.

Would definitely recommend working with him!

Marcus was extremely easy to work with, he is very personable and worked with us to pick the best photo package for our needs and budget. He made our engagement photo shoot fun and easy, despite the weather conditions, and our photos came out amazing, we also included our dog in the shoot which added an extra element of difficulty! Marcus called before the wedding to go over a shoot list with us so we would be sure to have all of the pictures we wanted on our day. On the actual day he was punctual and even brought an assistant to help with the lighting. Marcus was so great to work with and made the whole process fun and memorable. I have seen some of the images and they are so beautiful, I can hardly stand it. He was creative, fun and very open to any requests we had as a family. He took amazing photos at every moment and had a great eye. Highly recommend.

Pretty Awesome

Marcus was our photographer and did awesome the whole 10 months before wedding. I DID have to reach out for the flow up/ last check in phone call, but during the call he was very flexible on what we wantedf, friendly and very professional. The week of the wedding (only slightly negative about the experience) is we got an automated email to pay a certain remaining balance (even though we had already paid). We scrambled for receipts and proof of payment since we had already paid remaining balance. Thankfully, with a few short text Marcus looked into it and we were able to get reassurance from him directly. He was also continuously apologetic!!
Other than the small hiccup, Marcus was early, willing to photograph bride and family as well as groom and family before the ceremony, which saved us a bunch of time! Without asking he also photographed the decor and details within venue.

He also let peices of our huge family take their own family photos (without bride and groom) which was beyond great!
Marcus had proof photos and updates throughout his editing process and got us ALL our photos within the week!
Would definitely recommend! Extremely pleased

I very much loved how professional and punctual Marcus was. I felt like I could ask him any question and trusted his answers fully in a personal way that I could understand. His pictures were absolutely beautiful but there were a lot of the same pictures. I can understand getting just the right picture of each shot but there was also one picture that had the groom looking half asleep that I would've loved a second picture taken of. We cannot see the other side of the camera so I wish he was a little more demanding in control. Also there was about 5 times that I had to ask where he was. I am not saying that he was goofing off, I'm just saying that maybe a second photographer would've been better. I mean a persons got to eat and go to the bathroom and even I missed things because of those needs. I absolutely loved Marcus though. He gave several compliments, the prices are reasonable and I would 100% call him again for any future events. Just let him know what you want in your pictures and he will make it happen.

We just had a small wedding at the Annapolis Courthouse and Marcel became one of the highlights of our fantastic day. His enthusiasm helped my new family all have fun together taking photos and not only did they turn out beautiful, but we'll all remember the experience as a great time together.

Marcus did an excellent job and was very patient with a very large family including trying to get numerous children of all ages to come together for photos (if you haven't have the experience, trust me, it's like herding cats). The pictures turned out very nice and we love several of the unique poses that used the outdoor venue perfectly. He also worked with us on the price and tailoring the package to what we wanted. The only negative is he needs a larger voice mailbox, it was frequently full which made leaving a message difficult.

WEDDING REVIEW-July 2014

Marcus/ The Annapolis Photographer was recommended to me by a coworker. As a medical professional I was always taught to seek a second opinion. If you are reading this review, I SECOND YOUR CHOICE. My fiancé and I would absolutely recommend The Annapolis Photographer for your wedding or event.

We had Marcus and his partner shoot our waterfront wedding in July 2014 in Maryland. They were ON TIME to our event. When we got out of the limo, we were already on camera! However, on our wedding day the venue was unprepared to begin our ceremony as originally planned. Instead of adding to the confusion, they were FLEXIBLE with us.

After our ceremony, many of the pictures we desired were captured in a TIMELY manner (as discussed in our planning meeting). Additionally, we felt that they HANDLED the large groups and personalities of our wedding party very well. The wedding pictures of my husband turned out exceptional. Somehow Marcus or his partner got him to smile and show his teeth!

The only undesirable experience with Marcus was scheduling our consultation. He is sought after, so if you like him BOOK HIM. He did prioritize us later in his schedule and delegated other work for a more PERSONALIZED experience.

You will reflect on your wedding pictures for a lifetime. Hire a competent professional (like Marcus) and it will be one last thing to worry about on your big day or thereafter.

The pictures that we got were good, but we hired 2 photographers for ONE reason, to get the perspective of the bride and groom during the ceremony (that didn’t happen). We also asked for certain family pictures, poses and discussed that we wanted some creativity with the pictures. We ended up with tha standard photos and no creativity. Also, a lot of our pictures were blurry, with what the photographer cost, I would hope for crisp clear pictures. Marcus and the photographers were very nice and showed me amazing pictures. I just wish ours had been of the same quality of the ones we were shown.

We paid for two photographers and an assistant but only got the two photographers. We were initially happy with how things went until we got our photos back. They were just okay, not what we were expecting for how much was spent. I have also tried to contact since the wedding and have not gotten any response about the album we purchased. I'm sure he is a good photographer but would not use him again for a wedding. The weather was not in our favor so I understood trying to rush the family pictures before the down pour but there are quite a few we got back with peoples eyes shut...

DO NOT... I repeat DO NOT do business with this guy!! He is very unorganized and unprofessional. He arrived at our engagement session 45 minutes late and did not think to call us in advance. When he finally arrived he was unprepared and couldn't even get into his own office! He offered us additional services that he didn't deliver on and ultimately took our money and we received ONLY 4 PICTURES!!! His prices may be attractive, but save yourself time and headache. There is enough stress in planning a wedding and the Annapolis Photographer just multiplies it. DO NOT waste your money with this guy!!
