Monte absolutely outdid himself with our wedding cake! From the very beginning, he was kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in bringing our vision to life. Not only was the cake stunnin and picture-perfect, it also tasted just as incredible. Our guests raved about the flavors!
Monte made the entire process seamless, and his attention to detail and artistry were beyond impressive. We felt completely at ease knowing he had everything handled, and he delivered something truly magical.

Best cake ever!
We are beyond thrilled with our wedding cake—it was everything we dreamed of and more! From our very first consultation, the team was warm, attentive, and genuinely excited to bring our vision to life. They listened closely to what we wanted, offered helpful suggestions, and made the entire process feel effortless.
The final result was absolutely stunning—elegant, beautifully decorated, and completely in line with our wedding theme. But even more impressive than how it looked was how it tasted. Every layer was moist, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about it, and we even had people asking who made the cake days after the wedding!
We’re so grateful to have found this bakery, and we can confidently say this will be our go-to spot for every special occasion going forward. We truly couldn’t recommend them more highly—they went above and beyond in every way. -

Must book vendor!
I can’t recommend this bakery enough, they go above and beyond for their clients. My husband wanted a very complicated cake for his groomsman cake that looked like a YETI cooler with rainbow trout in it and they did it better than I ever could’ve imagined!! The cake was delicious, moist, and is still talked about almost a year after the wedding! I got Mexican chocolate with cream cheese frosting and my husband got yellow cake with chocolate. I have dreams of this cake still and I love looking at how beautiful they were in the pictures! -

Extremely flexible and helpful
Our daughter was getting married over the Christmas holiday. It was already a super crazy time. The team was super helpful as the wedding was planned in less than 90 days. We had 2 faux layers and the topper was Snickerdoodle. The cake was gorgeous, and delicious. The price and the delivery sealed the deal for us. Thank you "That's The Cake Bakery". -

Beautiful wedding cakes!
We saw Monte's work at the Dallas Bridal Expo and were impressed by the level of detail that he puts into each cake. We decided to hire That's The Cake Bakery for our wedding in November 2020 after trying a few flavors through their sampler box. Communication with Monte and Nancy was excellent by phone, email, and in person. Although our cake was simple by design, it was extremely beautiful and fitting for our intimate wedding in downtown Dallas. Our guests really enjoyed the pink champagne and wedding cake flavors. Overall, we were very pleased with this experience! -

Our Wedding Cake
That's the Cake was the perfect cake vendor for our wedding. The staff was friendly and helpful. The cake turned out beautifully and tasted great. They arranged the flowers on top for us too. After the wedding, my husband and I kept eating some of the left overs for days. We saved backed some to eat on our first anniversary, but it tasted so great I didn't want to wait! -

Cupcake Surprise :)
I was down visiting from San Francisco and came upon this bakery looking for some cupcakes. WOW, all I have to say. I was super surprised because I thought I was going to get a simple basic cupcake to eat and I left with a gourmet masterpiece of wonder :) I love this place and the staff was helpful and fantastic. I will be telling my friend about it and if they are in the neighborhood, don't miss the opportunity of some real Texas baked goods. -

We LOVE That's the Cake! We had tasted their cake at a friends' wedding and it was by far the best wedding cake I'd ever had! Chocolate chip with buttercream frosting - yum! We knew before we were engaged that we would book them. They did not disappoint! Nancy transformed a square cake into the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington for the groom and created a classic white cake for the bride. So beautiful and delicious! -

That's the cake bakery created my wedding cake and grooms cake. From the moment we met with Nancy (the owner), my husband and I knew we had found our vendor! Nancy definitely has a passion for what she does and she was very excited to help us create the cakes of our dreams. The wedding cake was half classic decorations and half Mario theme with a few other nerdy touches, she did an amazing job to incorporate everything I had described. It was also gluten free, and I got tons of compliments such as it being the best wedding cake they had ever tasted, most guests were shocked to find out it was gluten free! Definitely recommend that's the cake bakery to every bride! :) -

Great experience!
I called one Saturday morning to request a tasting and I was able to get in the same day! My two sample cupcakes were hot and fresh out of the oven and tasted AMAZING!
Monte Berry was SO helpful, he explained everything in detail and made the process so stress free. We were so happy and confident that we just paid for our cake in full. I can't wait to see my cake on our actually wedding day! I already know it is going to taste amazing! -

My original cake baker went out of business 3 days before my wedding. It was a wedding nightmare! I called That's The Cake bakery that day and they immediately agreed to meet with me to design my wedding cake. Nancy and her grandson were both very professional and helpful. They pulled through for me and recreated my dream wedding cake in the span of 72 hours. I couldn't be more happier with their services. They come highly recommended in the DFW area. -

This bakery has the best tasting gluten free cake, which she custom made for the top layer. We choose the almond flavor for the other three layers and it was delicious too! Very moist, and it looked beautiful as well. We gave some unusual requests in design and she delivered beautifully. She is reasonable and dependable! -

This is the first time I have ever had a custom cake made until my fiances 30th birthday. I asked for a 2 tier custom cake with fondant and special images. They did an AMAZING job. I couldn't have asked for a more spectacular cake. Not only that but they listened to what I wanted and and were mindful of my requests. I will be recommending That's the Cake to anyone and everyone I know who needs a custom cake. I also plan on using them for my wedding cake/cupcakes. They rock!!! -

I have been purchasing cakes from Thats the Cake Bakery every since she moved to Arlington...the cakes are always fresh and so pretty. We (work) are constantly ordering different flavors for the staffs birthdays and nothing has been bad. My personal favorite is the Hummingbird ... however, the German Chocolate is also great!...then there is the Chocolate Chocolate Chip... I could go on and on...however
The last purchase I made was for my goddaughters Bridal Shower...it was the hit of the shower...the design was beautiful and the cake (strawberry) was moist and everyone raved about the flavor. Another home run!
Will continue to use Thats the Cake Bakery for all my events.... Thank you so much for always making everything perfect and with all the planning that goes into the parties, showers, etc. I know I do not have to STRESS about the cake! -

I have Celiac Disease and I am incredibly sensitive to all gluten. We decided to have our whole wedding gluten free. After doing a search for gluten free wedding cakes on Wedding Wire, I decided to try That's the Cake Bakery in Arlington. My fiance (and now hubby!) went for a gluten free cake tasting, took our first bites, and both freaked out because we thought she accidentally forgot to make it GF, because it tasted SO GOOD! We literally booked on the spot. Obviously, gluten free is a little more expensive, but she was very reasonable with the price. We decided to do a fake cake with just the top layer being real, and then have sheet cakes for cake people will actual be eating. At the end of the day, my wedding cake ended up being less expensive than my other friends who got wedding cakes that aren't allergic to gluten.
I had like 3 people come up to me and tell me the cake was amazing within minutes of eating the cake. I gave like 5 people the name of this bakery. I highly recommend it! Nancy is so sweet and loves what she does. I would gladly recommend this bakery to anybody for any occasion. -

The cake itself was absolutely AMAZING! I was so sad when it was gone because it was SOOOO good. Literally i was eating it for breakfast the next morning. They will be making us an anniversary cake so we dont have to eat old frozen cake.. we can't wait for that day to come. Nancy Jo is very creative, and was willing to work with us and our florist to provide the most beautiful cake. Her prices are excellent and the cake was exquisite - several guests commented the cake table was exceptional. Her cake is made from fresh ingredients (real butter!) and is the best wedding cake I have tasted - moist and delicious. The kahlua cake is out of this world! Nancy Jo went out of her way to provide exactly what we wanted and we will most definitely ask her to make the cake for my other daughter's wedding! -

Our wedding cake was exactly what I had planned. Beautiful and delicious. Nancy was very helpful and patient with me. Choosing the flavor was the hardest part, since we had so many good choices to choose from. All my guests loved the cake!

We ordered the 2 heart cakes for our wedding reception...one German Chocolate and one white cake. These were some of the best cakes I've had. Even my family liked the German Chocolate...and they're hard to please! They were so pretty and moist. And the pricing was reasonable. From the moment I spoke with Nancy Jo her passion and dedication were above and beyond any other. She wasn't just doing business she was committed to a memorable experience. She promissed a beautiful cake and she delivered!!! She made a special trip to the florist and used the same fresh flowers that were used in my bouquet. The grooms cake had hand dipped strawberrys that resembled tuxedos and grapes that covered the top. Simply amazing. Wow! Nancy was just great! She was easy to work with and the cake was so yummy! All the guests talked about what a great cake it was.
All that and it was reasonable priced, too!
I would highly recommend her to any bride!

Nancy does an amazing job. While the cakes are not inexpensive, they look and taste wonderful. (Even the frosting tastes good, which isn't always the case with elaborate cakes.) She's done many birthday cakes for my boys, and the designs she comes up with are fabulous. She's willing to work with you on the design and incorporate your ideas. I recommend her to anyone looking for a cake that will have everyone saying, "WOW!" -

Nancy's cakes are so delicious. I knew that immediately when we went to our tasting (I even bought a cupcake for breakfast when I returned to pay the remainder). We picked different flavors for each tier since we were not doing a groom's cake. We had plenty left over to enjoy for a week and saved both flavors for the 1-year anniversary. The cake was beautifully decorated and tasted wonderful - everyone loved both flavors! Definitely recommend the Buttery Citrus. Her cakes are priced wonderfully. She told me that she does it for the love of it and just to pay rent at her shop in Lewisville so that's why they are cheaper than other places. She is better to get a hold of by phone than by email. I will be using That's the Cake in the future for other events and recommending Nancy to everyone I can. -

I chose a cake/cupcake combo and BOTH were DEELISH!!! Pricing was also a big plus, she doesn't charge an arm and a leg like some bakeries do for weddings. My only complaint was that after she set up, she didn't leave anything to take home our wedding cake/left over cupcakes in (like the box the cake and cupcakes came in). Other than that, I definitely recommend!! -

Great vendor. Family owned and operated which gave it such a good feel. We loved our cake testing experience and they were very open to our ideas. Cakes are delicious and you even get a complimentary cake for your 1 year anniversary so you don't have to eat the frozen top tier that isn't nearly as good a year later. -

I am gluten intolerant and allergic to many other things. That's The Cake had options that fit my dietary restrictions perfectly! We had them make the wedding cake and cupcakes for the guests. Both the wedding cake and the cupcakes were delicious! I was slightly disappointed in the decoration around the top of my cake as the decorations on the bottom were beautiful, but it was such a minor detail that I think it really only bothered me. -

Very sweet lady and they had a sale going on so the price was affordable for our 8 inch 2 tier cake however it didn't end up looking like the picture I gave them. I asked several times to make sure they would be able to do it so it looked just like the picture and they assured me they could but I was pretty disappointed with the final product. It was a cake though and that's all that matters. It tasted great even if it didn't look the way I wanted it to. -

We loved working with Nancy and Monte for our wedding cake. The cake is moist and delicious and was hands down the best tasting cake we tried!! Way better than the popular 'TV bakers' that are around! I did think the hand piping done on the final product was a tad uneven, but again, it was done by hand, so that's to be expected! The only other negative was there were parts of the cake that were not even, meaning the fondant was not smoothed out fully.
Overall, the cake was amazing and the price was outstanding! We will definitely be using them again for our cake needs in the future! -

My experience with them was not great. I picked them because they are known for their gluten free cakes. They were very friendly and attentive, but when it came to the final product it wasn't what I expected. I first ordered a trial cake for my shower so that I could taste the wedding cake put together at our couples shower. The cake I received was almond instead of vanilla and I received the explanation that they were making almond cake for another order and someone made a mistake. No biggie, mistakes happen. But when my wedding cake arrived it was a double whammy. I left them with a color swatch of my blush bridesmaids dresses and was told they would be able to match it exactly. What was delivered however was a bubblegum pink wedding cake that stood out like a sore thumb - see pictures. The grooms cake was good - pictured also. -

I heard about That's the cake at a Bridal Fair, made the appointment cake tasting. Met with Monty explained what we wanted showed him pictures nice young man it went smoothly. I did feel the cakes both wedding cake & grooms cake were a little over priced. Throughout the whole process communication was great no problems. Week before wedding we discussed on several occasions set up & delivery with Monty and other bakery staff. We were told our account was noted cakes were to be delivered, and set up by 6:00pm the day of event 11/04/2017. The dinner start time was 7:00pm. The day of the wedding I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL TO LET ME KNOW THERE WAS A PROBLEM. Instead when I arrived at the venue the Manager informed me that the cake vendor had called asking if the delivery could be made earlier. Manager explained that we would have to be contacted since she would have to charge extra time to open venue any earlier than 6:00pm. At 6:45pm I began calling That's the Cake unable to contact anyone.
IT WAS 7:45pm WHEN MONTY WALKED IN WITH THE CAKES!! I felt bad since he looked upset, but we had guests already seated, and the cakes were barely going to be set up. Monty apologized several times, and tried to explain to me that he had three deliveries that had gone wrong that day. Monty explained that several employees had quit, and the other two deliveries had been botched. At that point, I was relieved that the cakes were delivered. It was embarrassing to have the cakes being set up while guests were dining, and 15 minutes prior to start of dance. I FEEL THAT FOR THE PRICE OF THE CAKES WE SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED BETTER SERVICE, AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE DELIVERY ISSUE DIRECTLY. WE DO NOT GET A DO OVER FOR MY DAUGHTER'S SPECIAL DAY WEDDING!! EXPECTED A LOT BETTER SERVICE FROM THE VENDOR WOULD NOT USE THEM AGAIN FOR AN IMPORTANT EVENT -

Cake tasting was a cupcake with dollop of icing on the side.
Chocolate cake had licorice taste which vendor also admits and apologized,
Icing had a powder taste.
Offered second tasting, I did not accept.
She kept $25 tasting fee which was agreed but also kept $50.00 deposit when I cancelled contract the following day.
Wedding date was in September and cancellation requirements met. She insisted on keeping the $50 deposit, be careful who you spend your money with and if quality and fairness are important to you.

Horrible product. Poor attitude
I complained about the cake. Children couldn't eat the cake because of thick sugar icing layers. All icing and barely cake. I called and manager blamed me for not telling them how to bake the cake. Owner was unapologetic and more concerned about not giving a refund. Lack of good customer service. Arrogant and unempathetic. Owner and manager have horrid attitude. I don't care about the refund. My 7years old's birthday cake was trash. It ended up in the trash.

This place was a joke! We ordered 6 cupcakes (in person) on a Thursday for my daughter's birthday. We were told they would be ready the next Tuesday after 12pm. When I showed up the young man at the counter said "we forgot to bake them, can you come back tomorrow? -

This year I decided I would not make the cake for my sons birthday. I ran across a Groupon for Thats The Cake for 2 dozen cupcakes. I contacted the owner, ordered 2 dozen per the Groupon and an additional 1 dozen. It was a rockstar themed party for a 3 year old. We ordered 1 dozen red velvet, 1 dozen mint chocolate and 1 dozen wedding cake. I was advised to pick them up by 4 pm on Saturday. When my husband arrived he was told they were not ready and he would need to come back later. It was well after 4pm by the time they were ready. Once he got home and we opened the box, we were shocked! The cupcakes were UGLY! The cups were unevenly filled and icing was lopped on top. Not at all what we expected from a professional bakery, especially after looking at the gallery on her website. I was able to decorate them, to make them somewhat presentable. Not only were the cupcakes amateur looking we also received a random variety. There were at least 4 different flavors, some with PINK icing. Even after I doctored them up I was embarrassed to present these to our guests at our sons birthday party. Aside from the aesthetic disaster, the cake was dry and the icing overly sweet. It would appear that the owner no longer believes in sending out a quality product to customers. I got 35 random flavored, ugly cupcakes for $60. I would not recommend this bakery to anyone for any reason. -
