We were introduced to Terri through my sister who lives in California. We live in Winnipeg, Canada and were planning a small family wedding in Palm Springs. Terri took time to get to know us over a couple months via FaceTime chats. Terri easily understood our vision for our ceremony. On our wedding day we were both so overwhelmed with the beauty of Terri’s delivery of the ceremony and our vows. We were filled with joy and love as our family laughed and had happy tears. While Terri's words at our wedding were beautiful and working with her was straight forward, we were sadly disappointed with her professionalism on the day of the wedding. When Terri arrived on our wedding day she greeted us during our pre-ceremony photos and promptly let us know that she had brought her dog with her as she was headed to Las Vegas after our event. This obviously came as a shock to us as Terri never once mentioned that she either needed or was thinking of bringing her dog to our wedding. Terri went on to ask me if she could bring the dog into the venue (where food was being served) as she was worried that someone would steal her dog if she left him in her car. In a shocked response I told her to talk to my coordinator as I highly doubted that a historical society venue, that would not allow us to put tape on the floor in fear of damaging the polish, would allow a dog onsite. I later found out that Terri was told by my coordinator that she would not be able to bring the dog onsite and had to find other accommodations until the ceremony was over. My coordinator then found the dog being held by our event captain near the back area where, again, food was being prepared. The event captan, who was now distracted from his duties by dog sitting, said that Terri told him that it was OK for her to have the dog onsite as she has a disability. As someone with a disability I understand accommodations being made, however, I am very upset that Terri never disclosed this information which would have been required to be disclosed as part of her contract with us so that we could make accommodations with our venue. Again, the words Terri wrote for our ceremony were very well put together, however it also seemed, and we were told by guests, that she did not prepare. Terri fumbled several times with the words and got lost right before our "tying the knot" ceremony. For the ceremony I would have also liked for Terri to attend the rehearsal. The knot tying part needed to be practiced with her as she did not realize on our wedding day that we tied the knot too fast and her explanation of what we were doing was not coordinated. Also since Terri did not feel that it was necessary to attend the rehearsal, the "giving away" portion of the ceremony was awkward as she changed what was rehearsed right before my parents walked down the aisle and never bothered to tell me or my fiance. Unfortunately, due to Terri's lack of professionalism this was the low part of our wedding day; sadly disappointing.
