    Taste of the best made our event very special, I couldn't have asked for a better catering company!
    They went over and beyond for us to make our event a huge success, even when the budget got tight the made away for us!

    I had a Christmas party for 40 guests and taste of the best catering did a great job. They showed up earlier than expected, in very professional attire and attitudes. The food was excellent. We served 2 appetizers and hot turkey sandwiches with mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything was hot and well presented. Everyone loved the food. They left my kitchen sparking clean and leftovers in the fridge. We will use then again for sure! Their contracts and payment plans were very convenient and easy to use.

    Taste of the Best has catered for us twice. Their food is delicious and I love their presentation. They are attentive to our guests and make sure everyone has what they need. I continue to hear compliments about the food and staff from my friends.

    Once again, Jenine and Stacy were wonderful. This was my second time using them and this time it was for a social event for work (Ohio State University). They catered an author's reception at my home. They arrived to setup early and had everything ready to go when guests arrived. They provided superb service during the event, attending to stations and guests needs, allowing me to interact with the group and not have to worry about the food and beverages. The food was excellent, as usual, and the guests were quite impressed. I appreciate that Stacy and Jenine were very patient about working through my employer to get the financials and menu set, and they also worked with us on a shorter than usual notice. They run an excellent, high quality business that I will continue to use.

    The owners were amazing, professional, on time, fun, courteous. The food was phenomenal and the price was within our budget. We highly recommend them!

    The Taste of The Best Couple Caterers truly provided the best all around catering services we could have imagined! They went "above and beyond" what we expected with all services. For example, they both took a few hours of their valuable time to come to the wedding venue and brainstorm all details with the family event planner who had never undertaken such a task before but wanted a very special event for her son and new daughter-in-law. They worked as a team to cover all questions and concerns with excellent answers and solutions. And they were friendly and focused on doing the best for the family desires instead of on making the most money possible, (The latter was an irritating characteristic of all other caterers consulted.)

    Stacy and Jenine were wonderful to work with. I contracted with them to cater my graduation party from law school. From assistance with selecting the menu to recommending what types of services I might need (or not), they were extremely helpful and attentive. The communication throughout the process was very good. And, in spite of my belated decision to have the event catered, they were very patient and understanding. The food was excellent and so was the setup and service. Whenever I have future occasions needing catering, they will be who I call!

    Good Food, Great People

    Good Food, great owners and staff. I will say the chicken was just a little tough (as the bride) but all of my guest said the food was great.

    Maybe my event was too small to be lucrative for them, so others may have a better experience. But my experience was being overcharged, and then unprofessional business practice.

    They first invoiced me for 8 staff members to serve an event for 50 guests. This was excessive, and much higher than industry standards. When I reached out to request a mutually beneficial resolution, they ghosted me. This was unprofessional and I would hate to see someone else put in a similar position, left not knowing if you need to find an alternative because they aren't giving you the decency of communication.

    Taste Of The Best Catering's reply:

    Hi Jady. We're sorry you felt you had an experience that required this review. We love & accept all events, that fit into our minimum order criteria, and that has ranged from 13 at a dinner party up to 500 union members, over the last 9 years we've been catering.

    What happened FIRST is, We were excited about your event & since 7/23 spent hours back & forth with you, over 20+ emails of timely communications, answering all your questions about service, food options, tastings etc. with GREAT detail, preparing custom quotes with all your specific requests & needs, to invoicing to secure your date. That's a LOT of professional business communication happening, with no money being spent yet, on your part.

    After getting your sample menus, and asking how tastings work, you decided to book us, based on the pricing & professionalism you experienced so far & asked for an invoice for payment to lock in your date, BEFORE you shared your actual menu choices.

    You chose a wonderful sounding 4 course meal for 50 guests, with apps, salad & bread, Entrees & cake service. That's when you shared you wanted FULL PLATED SERVICE with your menu options.

    We created YOUR chosen menu QUOTE with 8 staff & explained in detail how we got to that number for timely full plated service, which was far from being "excessive" as you state. You were also offered an assisted buffet option QUOTE that was less staff & less expensive.

    After getting that QUOTE you stated you needed full plated service, because you didn't think there was enough space in your venue for a buffet setup. You wanted only 4 staff because 8 would put you over your occupancy number for the space (which is actually 36 seated, 50 for cocktail reception, so you're already over). I advised that the service time would be much longer w. only 4 staff to plate & serve a 4 course meal to 50 guests, and re-offered the cheaper assisted buffet. You said long service time was fine & you wanted only 4 staff. Then asked for the INVOICE again so you could get your date secured.

    We created your new quote & requested invoice for the 4 staff and included an additional fee to give our service staff a little extra pay for carrying a heavier load, with your requested 2 servers being designated to serve a 4 course meal to 50 people themselves. It was a fee of 15% of the food subtotal, & It was exactly $10 more than your previously quoted staff cost.

    When you "reached out" in regard to this charge, your "mutually beneficial resolution" was to tell us that we charged you "double" for staff, and that you did your research and found that industry standard is 1 server per 25 guests, or The typical ratio ranges from 1 server per 16 guests to 1 per 32, depending on the size of the venue and the complexity of the meal. Then you mentioned this also aligns with what you experienced yourself during your 8 years as a wedding photographer.

    What you didn't mention is that those ratios you researched go with an assisted buffet service setup, not full plated service setup, which is what YOU requested, and therefore your research is inaccurate. Your "mutually beneficial resolution" was to tell us that as a business, we can't charge what we charged, even though it's based on your specific needs & requests, because of your incorrect research & your 8 yrs of photography experience says our 13yrs of catering experience is not accurate.

    Your last email "If we're able to move forward without the fee, please send a revised invoice and contract". We were not able. You essentially wanted a pop-up restaurant table service, for a 4 course meal served to 50 people, by 2 servers. Like a packed restaurant that seats 50 people, and there's 2 servers. That is unprofessional! You wanted us to participate in illegally overcrowding a space & lower our service standards to give you what you wanted, and you haven't even paid for anything! You didn't secure your date You were left "not knowing" because of your choices.
