    Great Quality and Price

We fell in love with Tart Bakery at first bite of cake at our taste testing. We went to three different bakeries, but this one far surpassed them all. Sam was so kind and easy to work with. He designed the coolest groom's cake and perfectly crafted the bride's cake. Not only did the cakes look beautiful, but they tasted amazing! All of our wedding guests were raving about them! You will not regret choosing Tart Bakery for your event!

Tart Barkery not only makes a beautiful cake but has the best wedding cakes in Dallas. Everyone at our daughters wedding raved about the cakes. Working with Sam and his team was perfect. Thank you

We needed a gluten free wedding cake. They did not disappoint, everyone complemented the cake. It was moist and light. Most guests had no idea it was gluten free. The 4 tiers were also stunning.

I was a little worried when the bakery changed ownership, but it was all for nothing. The cake was amazing and the mini desserts were to die for. All of my guests were complementing them. The new owner called me and let me know what was going on when he took over. I look forward to buying the next cake (and the desserts) from them. Everyone must try the mini creme brulees!

I actually didn't do a wedding cake. Instead I had a bunch of mini desserts! Tart's did a beautiful job. They made up mini apple pies, mini cherry pies, mini cup cakes of different flavors, mini mousse shooters, and cake balls! They were all fabulous. They also made my husbands grooms cake and did an outstanding job!!! I was very pleased!

This bakery was AMAZING and we will continue to order desserts from them after our wedding! We had the black & white cake for the "bride's" cake, and did a dessert spread of cupcakes, cheesecakes, and macaroons for the "groom's" cake table. MANY of our guests asked days after the wedding where we had our cake and other yummy desserts from! USE TART IF YOU ARE IN THE DALLAS AREA!

We did mini desserts instead of wedding cake art the wedding. TART bakery did a wonderful job. MY guests love the choices and having something different. They have tons of choices which will satisfy any craving. They were able to accomodate last minute changes.

Let me start off by saying that I am not a huge fan of sweets. I love wedding cake, but given the choice between sweet and savory, I'm going with savory all the way. We found Tart on Hickory Street Annex's list of preferred vendors. It was the third cake tasting we did in one week, so by that time, I was getting REALLY sick of cake. As soon as my mom and I took the first bite, we looked at each other with that "holy crap, that's good" look. There was no discussion, no exchange of words; it was decided then and there that we had to go with Tart.
We decided to go with several smaller cakes and cupcakes instead of the traditional bride and groom cakes. This kept the price down but also meant that we got to choose more flavors! The cake is so moist and and the smell of the icing alone is enough to make your mouth water!
They were priced about the same as the other bakeries we tried, but the taste is worlds away!
This is now my go-to bakery.

Tart is so great! Their desserts are to die for! They were very responsive to emails, friendly, professional. I do wish they did set up at the venue when they deliver the desserts, but overall everything was great.

I did not want a traditional wedding cake so I ordered a dessert buffet from Tart that included a 2 tiered strawberry cake, 3 flavors of mini cookies, 3 flavors of mini tarts, mini cupcakes and chocolate and white chocolate petit fours. It was fantastic!! Kristen did a wonderful job with the decorating, it matched my color swatch perfectly and all the desserts displayed on the table looked so nice. Everything tasted wonderful and I received lots of compliments from my guests. A huge hit!

I ordered miniature tarts for my wedding favors after seeing them displayed at a bridal fair. They were SO delicious and adorable stacked as wedding favors in little clear plastic boxes. In fact, I should go and buy some to eat today, writing this review has given me a craving, haha!

    Beautiful cakes

Best cake I have ever had. I did several tastings and Tart was my first. No other bakery compared. Cost was great as well. Bridal cake was 3 real layers with a 4th bottom layer made of styrofoam to give me the large wedding cake I dreamed of. Groom's cake was a yeti cooler and they were even able to incorporate my husband's favorite beer!

I had Tart make my wedding favors, cookies shaped in the states of Texas and Wisconsin with our initials on them. I placed the order 9 months before our wedding and when I arrived to drop off the cookie cutters 1 month before the wedding they didn't have my order. I was nervous as I had pre-paid for the order and no one seemed to know about it. I called a week before picking up the order and they had it front and center and confirmed my pick up date, whew!

I went to pick up 50 Texas shaped cookies and 50 Wisconsin shaped cookies on Thursday before my Saturday wedding. All 50 Wisconsin cookies had our initials upside down on them, the baker/decorator didn't know what the shape of Wisconsin was and didn't look it up. Before I freaked out they offered to re-make and have them ready in several hours. It was nice not to have to ask for the re-make, there's no way I would have bagged and served those cookies at my wedding. I arrived the next morning for the new batch and they were perfect. Other than the second trip to the bakery I was very pleased.

Our guests loved the favors and they still taste fresh almost a week later. I recommend being very specific on your instructions and giving yourself an extra day, mistakes do happen!

My husband, mom and I went to a cake tasting at Tart Bakery in Dallas and it was a great experience. Their tasting plate is really cute and we enjoyed it. We chose them over a couple of other local bakeries that we had tastings at b/c we thought the cake was the best, and liked the designers ideas for our cake the most. Unfortunately, on the day of our wedding, when I saw the cake I realized the decorator had not decorated our cake according to the sketch and the contract we had agreed upon. The cake was on time for delivery, and tasted delicious. It was a very simple cake, and was supposed to have gold airbrushing on half of each layer, in like an ombre effect. They got every other detail correct, including the flavors, we had our monogram on a layer, etc. I am not sure how the decorator missed this detail but they said it was human error. Obviously this is extremely disappointing as we paid a lot of money for this cake, and we'll never have another wedding cake. I did get an apology from the owner, Sam, and a small refund. It was not the amount I was asking for, so I wasn't happy about that. He seemed to want to quantify it as the value of the gold airbrushing which wasn't the point at all, it was about a bride having the cake she ordered on and paid for on her wedding day. Ultimately he sent me a small refund but I would have much rather paid the full amount and had the cake I ordered. Because of this, I can't recommend them. The cake tasted good, but for the amount of money you pay for a wedding cake, I'd find a place that could pay more attention to detail. I had a red flag with them several months after we put a deposit down on our cake as well, the owner had followed up to see if we'd like to order a wedding cake, and I was like, well, I did order it, months ago. He got back with me that it was obviously an error but that was concerning as well.

    Caution: i would not recommend

This bakery is the utmost horrific and disappointing bakery I have ever been to!

I will NEVER use TART BAKERY again.

To begin, I ordered my "first" gender reveal cake two weeks in advance from Tart. I specifically told the bakery that I needed the inside of the cake to be a specific color with specific color candy and told the bakery it was a gender reveal cake. I sent the design of the cake and my requested specifications via email to the bakery. Bakery responded back to me claiming that the cake would be made to specification and that the inside of the cake would be “specific color” with “specific candy”. Initially, I was very excited to order from Tart because they were recommended from a family member (Side Note: That family member will never order from Tart again as this bakery messed up orders for family member as well).

Gender reveal day rolls around and all of my family and friends are in attendance. Not to mention, I had family travel in to the Dallas area from out of town. I cut into the cake (while my family was taking pictures and videoing) and pull out the first slice of cake - and to my amazement and horrification - the inside of the cake was white with no sign of the “specific color I ordered for the inside of the cake anywhere”. Of course, how embarrassing and what a nightmare.

I was obviously upset about the incident because having the cake made was the only type of gender reveal surprise we did for our family and friends. The following day, I called the bakery and spoke to Nancy Major (co-owner of the bakery). I informed her what had happened with the cake and she apologized and asked how she could fix it. I told her she could refund my money because of how major their mistake was for such a big moment that was ruined. She informed me that that was not an option and that the only thing she could do was issue me a gift card to use at the bakery. A GIFT CARD FOR SUCH A MAJOR SCREW UP ON THEIR BEHALF? I would be embarrassed to offer a gift card if I ruined someone’s special moment so bad. Side Note: I deal with my own clients too and I would never treat a client like this. I told her that her offer of the gift card was unacceptable and that I would only accept a refund. She proceeded to tell me again that that was not an option. I told her that a gift card was unacceptable because I would never order from Tart Bakery again after their major screw up with my gender reveal cake and the customer service I was receiving. Literally, who would go back to a bakery after they SEVERELY messed up a gender reveal cake? Let alone, my and my husband’s first gender reveal! I informed her that I would be sure to share my experience with others.

I am so irate about this incident!!! Tart Bakery ruined one of the most important and precious events in my and my family’s lives. They ruined so many memories and my gender reveal announcement party with family and friends. They did not just lose me as a customer, they also lost my family members (as customers) who previously had made multiple orders from the bakery, as well as orders from other family and friends whom I have informed about the incident. Hopefully they will not treat future customers like so.

Again, this is a bakery I would NEVER recommend to anyone and would highly recommend never using this bakery for an event!!
