The venue was gorgeous with multiple choices to hold your ceremony; several choices outside and a couple inside. Anne-Marie, the coordinator, was so helpful with ideas and very accommodating to all of our needs. She let us come the day before to drop off our wedding attire and beverages. She was just great and the house and grounds are beautiful. We can find zero to complain about. Everyone was really impressed with the place!!! -

Beautiful venue!
Tarrywile is an absolutely beautiful venue! We fell in love with the grounds before touring the mansion, but once we went inside, we knew this was the place for us. Loraine was so easy to work with and her enthusiasm about Tarrywile is contagious. The mansion is gorgeous and being able to have indoor and outdoor options for the ceremony and reception was ideal. Though we had hoped for an outdoor wedding, cold and rain forced our late April wedding indoors, where we were able to have an amazing ceremony inside the conservatory. Our guests loved how cozy the rooms felt and we had a wonderful experience there. Highly recommend! -

Perfect spot for any occasion
We had an absolutely amazing experience with the Tarrywile Mansion. The staff Lorraine especially was amazing.
We had a wedding of 50 guests. Everyone loved the mansion and property. It will be beyond an experience we will remember. -

The perfect day
Choosing to use tarrywile for our wedding venue was a no brainer. The venue is stunning. From the mansion itself to the entire grounds it was the perfect setting for our wedding. We had an early September evening wedding (under a full moon 🥰) and it was the perfect choice for time of year as the entire venue looked stunning in the late summer glow. The staff at Tarrywile was so easy to work with! Loraine and Becky were responsive in a timely manner with all of my questions before hand, and worked with our caterer to make us feel completely at ease on our big day. -

Had my daughter's wedding there october 12. The place is so beautiful inside and out and the people that work there are fantastic!! I would recommend this place . -

Beautiful Rustic Venue
We weren't sure what we wanted for our venue except that it definately had to be wimsical. Tarrywile offered everything and more from a beautiful mansion, gorgeous picturesque landscapes, flexible times and dates as well as many other things you have to visit the grounds just to experience! Absolutely recommend for any large party. -

Susan Sent on 08/03/2018Tarrywile was an absolutely stunning venue for our son’s recent wedding. Our son and his wife searched long and hard for the perfect venue for their wedding and they found it. The venue provides so many lovely spots to marry and celebrate love! Working with the Tarrywile staff and their preferred vendors was a wonderful experience. They were helpful and professional throughout the planning process. This was especially important as they were planning it all from southeastern Connecticut and Florida during their college breaks. The grape arbor was the setting for the ceremony, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres on the veranda, dinner in beautifully appointed rooms and dancing in the elegant foyer. Our guests loved the intimate ceremony and lovely reception spaces provided by the Tarrywile experience. Our children had their PERFECT day and we are very thankful to everyone at Tarrywile and their preferred wedding professionals. We cannot stop talking about our wonderful wedding experience at Tarrywile Park and Mansion.
Who knew a “destination” wedding to Danbury, Connecticut could be so MAGICAL!?!

If we had to do it over again, we'd choose Tarrywile over and over again. From start to finish we were so pleased with the service and responsiveness of Anne-Marie, the event coordinator for the venue. The venue was helpful in the planning process in terms of recommending vendors and floor plan options but also allowed us the freedom to craft the wedding of our dreams. We had wanted our wedding to feel warm and inviting like a house party, with "our" house being an amazing mansion, and it delivered. They allowed us to bring our vision to life! We also had our ceremony at the mansion under the grape arbor and lawn games between the arbor and the mansion. It was truly a dream come true. Thank you so much, Anne-Marie. Your flexibility, care, and attention is greatly appreciated and we recommend this location to any couple looking for a romantic and unique venue and experience. I know our guests will be talking about it for years to come! -

Jennifer Sent on 05/27/2014This venue was stunning. It's a great value for the price, and is very flexible in terms of allowing outside vendors and allowing you to make what you want of it. I chose the grape arbor area for my reception. I saw that some of the branches were drooping from the winter months. The grounds keepers fixed it up so that it was perfect for the ceremony. They keep the groups well maintained and the mansion is gorgeous. My only complaint was that they had said that we could set up the day before and when we got there it was locked up. If we didn't think to find the groundskeeper to let us in we would have not been able to set up the day before. Other than that everything was smooth. They allowed vendors in on time the day of, the workers were helpful in making suggestions based on what past brides did, and helping refer to vendors who have worked with them before. They were very helpful, responsive to emails and phone calls, professional, etc. Everyone was amazed at how beautiful everything was. There wasn't a single photo with a bad background. I chose this venue because of the location, how beautiful it is with minimal decor needed to add to its beauty, and the reasonable price. Overall I am BEYOND pleased with this venue and would ABSOLUTELY recommend it to someone else. -
Sonya Sent on 08/30/2018Tarrywile is a beautiful wedding venue. Our wedding was during August. The morning was a little stormy but the day turned out beautiful. The park has so many amazing landscapes to take advantage of and we definitely did! We have our ceremony outdoors under the grape arbor and reception under a beautiful tent. Our wedding was everything anyone could wish for and we are so happy we went with this venue! :-)

Lorraine Sent on 06/08/2018I held my daughter’s baby shower here in June. We had 25 guests which was perfect for a buffet lunch in the library. Games were set up in the Living Room and chairs were placed in the Formal Living Room so that all could watch my daughter open her gifts from her “special seat” (it was ‘woodlands’ themed so she sat under a teepee!) in the Conservatory. I say all this because this was sombody’s home and it feels that way- somewhat comparmentalized but beautiful, stately and intimate. If you are looking for a large open area, this venue will not work. But if you want elegance, this is your place. The various rooms do give you several options. As with many venues, there is a contract within which to work. For a larger group, that is no big deal, but for a smaller gathering, like my daughter’s shower, the rules and restrictions were frustrating to work within (e.g., have to use their preferred vendors). I also want to mention that the mansion is in a park that has several stunning areas for pictures. Go take a hike one day and visit the Mansion!
