We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Tamara, from start to finish, she was an absolute pleasure to work with! She is patient, kind, professional, calming, and genuinely invested in making your day feel special.
The photos she captured are beyond beautiful and perfectly reflect the feeling and energy of our intimate NYC elopement. She created such an incredible blend of candid, artistic, playful, natural, and posed shots of us and our family. Looking through the gallery genuinely feels like reliving the day all over again.
She has an amazing eye for detail and emotion, and somehow manages to capture not just moments, but the atmosphere and feeling behind them. We are so grateful for her talent and presence on such an important day.

We got married on top of a mountain, and Tamara produced absolutely stunning photos! We are quite laid back and didn’t provide her much instruction on what we wanted out of the day and I am truly blown away at her photos. I didn’t realize she was around for half the photos she caught, and our family/group photos went so fast and smooth! Plus, she got the finished product back to us within 3 days…cannot recommend her enough!!! -

Tamara was absolutely incredible! I’m so happy to have found her services and immediately booked her for our wedding. The pictures were beautiful, and were received in less than a week! We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer for our wedding day! From the moment she arrived, she was everywhere she needed to be—somehow capturing every special moment, big and small, with incredible precision and artistry, all while being just one person.
Her photos are absolutely stunning—each one tells a story, full of genuine emotion and beautiful detail. She managed to catch all the candid smiles, the emotional glances, the joy, the laughter—everything we hoped would be remembered forever.
Beyond her talent, she was such a pleasure to work with—kind, professional, easygoing, and completely in tune with the flow of the day. Our guests even commented on how lovely and unobtrusive she was throughout the celebration.

Tamara was AMAZING to work with for our wedding photos! She was very organized, professional, and communicative throughout the entire process. In preparation for our wedding, she asked great questions so she could understand our overall vision. She was a ton of fun to work with the day of the wedding, and just as we requested, she directed us to where we needed to stand, and found creative ways for us to pose. She brought positive energy into our wedding party which we loved and she also did an incredible job of sticking to our packed timeline. She sent us our photos in under a week and they came out beautifully! We would definitely recommend Tamara for wedding photos, and we hope to book with her again for other smaller photo sessions. -

Choosing Tamara Kohno Photography for our wedding was the best decision! She had this incredible ability to command the room in a fun and lively way, keeping everyone organized and laughing, which really helped everyone relax. She's an absolute professional who captured the most incredible photos! Seriously, the pictures are breathtaking. She has a knack for capturing both the perfectly staged shots and those candid, in-between moments that truly tell the story of our day.
We were also impressed with how well she worked with our videographer; they were a dream team!

Tamara is an amazing, responsive, and talented photographer!
Tamara was phenomenal to work with, and is such a talented photographer too! She was a calming presence throughout the day, and captured each of our candid special moments well without us ever realizing she was there. She was great to work with throughout the planning process as well, answering all of our questions quickly and following up as needed. Tamara is a kind, professional person who put everyone at ease in front of the camera but was still able to wrangle our large extended families during posed portrait time with ease! When it started drizzling during our ceremony, she kept her cool and made sure we got the photos we wanted before the rain really started. Everyone commented on how cheerful and friendly she is, and we are thrilled with our photographs. Plus, she had great suggestions for where to take our engagement photos, and helped us find a beautiful place that wasn't even on our radar! She delivered so many photos on a great timeline (only a few weeks after the wedding) and we are so grateful to have worked with her! -

Tamara was one of the best decisions we made when we were planning our wedding. She is exceptional! She is attentive to every detail and somehow captured every moment, large and small, during our ceremony and reception. The emotions of these moments were captured as well and we were thrilled when we received our gallery. She has a great talent for recognizing scenes that will make for great candids, in addition to staging the perfect poses for more formal portraits. We did not feel at any time that our entire day was directed by photos, which I have experienced at other weddings. Instead we had a great mixture of portraits and candids such that we were privileged with a laid back photo experience that also allowed us to enjoy our own wedding while delivering some truly incredible photos. Stop searching for your wedding photographer - if you are reading this review, then you already found her. Tamara is an amazing photographer and an amazing person! She was willing to work with us on the pricing to create a package that fit our budget. We were worried that we would feel awkward during our photos and Tamara made them so easy!!! We received over 700 GORGEOUS pictures only 10 days after our wedding. We are obsessed with them. Tamara even helped pick up some of the slack of our “venue coordinator” who was nowhere to be found. We have kept in touch with Tamara afterward our wedding and now consider her our close friend ❤️ -

Tamara is spectacular, awesome, and an all star!! Everything that she promised us was completed above and beyond!!! Her photos, energy, and willingness to work with us was terrific. My husband and I are IN LOVE with all of our photos (which came in less than two weeks)!!
We had many different locations we needed photos in for our wedding and Tamara nailed ALL of the timing and places. She kept us both on track and captured every piece of our day!!!
Other than her talent, Tamara is super personable and funny! She has awesome ideas and I can’t wait to work with her again!!!
Many of my guests loved how willing she was to take photos of them and how much she engaged with positive energy. Tamara was everywhere we needed her to be!!

Tamara is amazing
We absolutely LOVED working with Tamara, and can't recommend her enough! Tamara did our engagement pictures and covered our wedding day, and both came out so beautifully! For our engagement pictures, she was willing to meet us early in the morning in order to get the best locations and lightning, and was willing to go to two different locations with us in order to get all of the pictures we wanted. My husband and I are not always the most photogenic, but Tamara did such an amazing job making us feel relaxed and making the whole process so easy and fun. On our wedding day, Tamara beautifully captured all of our favorite moments as well as the small details that we otherwise would have missed. We were running a bit late getting ready before Tamara arrived, and she still managed to capture everything we could have wanted and more. She had a calm and organized demeanor, and was so efficient getting us through all of our photos. She was so helpful not only with getting pictures but with helping to keep me calm and focused on the right things all day. Tamara was so fun to work with. You can tell she loves what she does and wants you to enjoy the experience as well. She is excellent with communicating before, during, and after the event. She had our engagement pictures back within a week and our wedding photos back in just 10 days! She made a huge difference in how amazing our wedding day was and we couldn't have asked for a better photographer! -

We booked Tamara for both our engagement and wedding photos. If you are looking for a photographer who is extremely kind, personal, and talented look no further! Tamara is absolutely amazing. Her calm yet confident demeanor put me right at ease during a stressful wedding morning. She knows exactly what she is doing at all times and was so easy to work with. Her communication is beyond stellar which was so appreciated during the planning process. I was absolutely blown away when I received 1,500 edited and retouched photos from our wedding in less than two weeks! It just shows how much Tamara loves what she does. From the first conversation I had with Tamara she put me at ease. We chatted on the phone before I booked with her and she sure knows what she's talking about.
She was great at communicating pre-wedding and made sure she had all the information for shooting locations, what I wanted shots of, just everything.
The day of she showed up and was such a professional. She spent a very long day with us! She knows what she's looking for in a shot and location and I'm beyond happy that we chose her. Myself and my husband are not by any means regulars in front of the camera and she put us at ease and was great with posing us and getting perfect shots.
We hired her with a second shooter and Derek was amazing as well! I wanted him for groomsmen pictures to start and the guys absolutely loved him!
When it came time for the posed family photos Tamara really jumped into action and it was such a blessing. Dealing with 20+ people all hanging around chatting and trying to get different groups together for photos should have been a nightmare but Tamara somehow pulled out the biggest boss voice I've ever heard from such a small person and we breezed through the family portraits.
My husband and I were so comfortable with her. She was amazing to have around. She was somehow everywhere at once. I never had to look for her when a big moment was happening, she just appeared out of nowhere. I didn't worry once that she wasn't getting the shot.
When we recieved the photos (within a month!) we were over the moon. She captured absolutely everything. The photos are absolutely beautiful and we will cherish them forever.
I have zero regrets about choosing Tamara to photograph our wedding. She is so sweet and lovely to have around. Her work speaks for itself. Thank you Tamara and Derek! -

Tamara was the perfect photographer for us and we’re so happy we had the chance to work with her! Tamara was top notch and we are obsessed with our photos! We met with several photographers prior and after our first meeting with her we knew she was the one. She was professional, knowledgeable, and kind. We knew we were in good hands. She asked for a detailed list of everything we wanted to capture and when we got our photos back we got all of that and more. We opted to do a first look and during that time she let us have our moment and captured some of the sweetest most candid interactions. It also allowed us time to get some one on one photos prior to the start of the ceremony. She had an eye for detail and even noticed a ladybug on my veil and shared with us a story of how it meant someone who passed was with us. This was one of the most memorable things that happened considering both my husband and I have lost a parent. We cried when we saw there was a photo of the lady bug taken when we got our photos back. During the reception she captured all of the little moments with our guests. There were so many great candid photos of pure love throughout the room that we shared with our family and friends. Overall, she had an eye for detail, captured everything we wanted and more, and we have beautiful photos to look back at. We couldn’t be happier! -

We had the absolute best experience working with Tamara. From the moment she showed up, she went right to work and did not stop. Tamara did a wonderful job! Our weather was off and on rain and she did everything in her power to still get the most amazing photos. She was flexible wen I wanted to add an hour to the time frame last minute and made sure she captured all of my must haves. You can tell she loves her job and puts 100% into her work. Tamara was AMAZING. A friend of ours recommended her and we're so glad we decided to go with her. I was a big fan of her work visually, she's a lot brighter and more natural than a lot of other modern photographers and I felt like that fit our style more.
We also appreciated her direction during our wedding. She knows how to get everyone to pose as needed, but she also checked in with us frequently to make sure that she was getting everything we wanted. She got to our venue as the bridal party was still getting ready and went right to work, and then was able to sneak in for the final getting ready moments. She got every item on my list.
And then the photos!!! We had a photos within a few weeks and that with with both Christmas and New Years in between. I honestly didn't expect them as quickly as she provided them. Of course, they came out beautifully.
Overall, I'd 100% recommend Tamara for your wedding. -

Tamara has been so patient and easy to work with. From the start things were hard because I had to postpone our wedding due to the pandemic from 2020 to 2021. Tamara was so understanding and flexible. It turned out that Tamara was also expecting a baby days before my wedding but luckily her husband Sean also works as a photographer whom is equally great! The day of my wedding came and I was expecting Sean to come but low and behold Tamara came and surprised me. She literally had a baby the day before! I was shocked and in awe. She took so many photos so I had a lot of options! They came out beautiful!!! I would not recommend anyone else. Thank you Tamara! -

Beautiful wedding photos!!
Tamara immediately made me feel confident and relaxed, no matter the circumstances. Our engagement photos session was lovely, and she even had us bring our fur babies! It was such a treat to have them with us. They admittedly didn’t take direction so well, but Tamara still managed to get photos of us that perfectly encapsulates all of our personalities.
We had to delay our wedding for a year due to COVID, and Tamara was extremely responsive and helpful on our time of panic. She made finding a new date super easy!
On our wedding day I was a bit of a stressed out mess but Tamara took it in stride and her calm energy was such a blessing. She got right to work, getting lovely candids of everyone getting ready, perfectly capturing the ambience, and keeping track of time for me so it was one less thing I had to worry about. She didn’t even bat an eye when we asked how comfortable she was the idea of the ladies flinging mini rubber chickens at the groomsmen during their photo shoot (because what wedding isn’t complete without neon orange chickens flying through the air?). The boys had no idea, and their reactions are recorded perfectly! Tamara even helped the bridesmaids plan a secret surprise for me that I didn’t even see until our photos came back!
Tamara was wonderful to work with, and I can’t sing her praises enough! Everyone at the reception commented on her professionalism and how perfectly she did her job. I can’t imagine working with anyone else! -

Kind, Flexible and Down to Earth!
Tamara did an outstanding job on the day of and leading up to our wedding! Getting married during a pandemic and having to totally overhaul our original wedding plan was incredibly stressful, but the stress was never about the photography. From the moment I spoke with Tamara she was kind, calm and accommodating. When our plans and location changed it was no big deal for her and she switched gears seamlessly.
I had shared with her that I wasn't huge on taking photos and was worried that it would feel strange. She assured me it would be fun and to just follow her directions, which was perfect advice! I also last minute wanted to do a "first look" and she worked with me and my husband to facilitate that. During family photos she made everyone feel at ease while making sure we got through them in a timely manner (as I had requested).
When we received our photos my sister-in-law said that, "Tamara perfectly captured the feelings of the day". Thank you so much, Tamara! -

Tamara is a well-seasoned photographer. She knew what to do at the right time. Her attention to every little detail while capturing our special day was incredible, but more importantly, she asked how both of us were doing during our whole photo session. We did not feel like working robots during our time with her. We both much appreciated that! We are both looking forward to working with her again during our wedding celebration later this year.

My husband and I got married on February 21, 2020 and absolutely LOVED our experience with Tamara, and we love our photos even more!
We found Tamara through WeddingWire and have been so impressed since day one. Tamara responded to our inquiry very quickly and put together a photography package just for us that was perfect for our needs, and at an absolutely unbeatable price. The package included 6 hours of on-site photography, a wedding album, a number of prints, and a free engagement shoot. Unfortunately we were not able to make our engagement shoot, but Tamara was so flexible and understanding when we had to cancel last minute.
Going into the wedding, we were a little uneasy having not met Tamara in person before the wedding day, but within 2 minutes of meeting her, Tamara had put me completely at ease and I felt that I could completely trust her. Tamara is so approachable and friendly all the while being extremely professional. We had a large wedding party and we both have decent sized families, so I was nervous about getting everyone where they needed to be for pictures and being able to fit all the pictures in that we wanted, but Tamara was amazing at directing and posing everyone, and making sure everyone knew what they were needed for. My husband and I are also both a little camera shy usually, but both of us have never felt more comfortable in front of a camera than we were with Tamara taking our photos. She made us relaxed and made the portrait-taking experience so much fun!
During the month after our wedding, Tamara had to close her studio due to the Covid Pandemic, but she still was able to get us our photos in a timely manner. Having now received our photos, my husband and I are both ECSTATIC with how they came out. Every single one is absolutely beautiful.
Our experience with Tamara was incredible, she is professional, kind, knowledgeable, efficient, and extremely talented. Her services are incredibly affordable - based on our experience I think her services are the best deal around, and we definitely recommend her! -

Tamara is quite a gifted photographer. She's got a talent for being warm and supportive yet professional and creative. She knows how to walk couples through poses and make them feel natural. She jumped in whenever we needed to get the right angle but pulled back and let us enjoy each other's presence while snapping shots. I've often heard people talk about how boring or stressful wedding pictures can be, but with Tamara, they were fun and memorable. Easily one of my favorite parts of the wedding. She captured some amazing moments with me and my husband, as well as our families. I find myself, nearly a year later, looking through the photos and smiling. They were so well done and showed just how happy we were. Thank you, Tamara, for giving us these lovely memories that we can share with our loved ones. -

I hired Tamara as my wedding photographer for a 4 hour session (couple session + wedding ceremony) - and I am so glad that I did!
From the very first message, she was very professional, helpful and friendly. We we on a tight schedule and she got the most out of every moment! Tamara was very responsive and punctual, she was ready to go from the moment we met.
What I loved the most was that she knew exactly what to do - there was absolutely no confusion or awkwardness ('where do I put my hands?' 'how should I stand?' etc) Of course, she took into consideration the moments that I wanted to capture and some poses that I liked, but it was really natural and fun to work with her.
Tamara is also a naturally kind person - it felt like I was working with a good friend who wanted the best for me, even small things like having a place to put my coat outside, to adjusting my hair so that it looked better in a photo. She so easy to talk to and everyone at the wedding mentioned what a sweet and professional photographer she is! I loved all of our photos - from traditional poses by Boston landmarks, to candid shots with my family members, every image I got back shined with our personalities and captured truly special moments that we will cherish for the rest of our lives!

Great Photographer
We were so happy with Tamara and her photographs! She was extremely pleasant and fun to work with! We couldn't have asked for more as she captured the day perfectly! Tamara captured not only the ceremony but so many great candid photos from the reception! I cant say enough about Tamara and how happy we were with her! Where do I begin on this woman and her magical gift?! I suppose I’ll start when I requested info from several photographers in the Boston area for a Salem vow renewal (coming in from Philadelphia). Tamara was timely, patient, helpful, efficient and thorough from the get-go. My ideas weren’t so ordinary, and yet she was excited to take me on as a client. I found choosing a photographer via all of my various inquires to be dull and nerve wrecking until I saw Tamara’s full portfolio of work. I immediately went back to her and said, “I need to secure you now!”. This event was more important than my original wedding day and I so desperately wanted my envisioned photos to turn out well. I didn’t want basic. She’s far above standard quality for photos and her work stands out amongst peers. Leading up to the event, she was “on the ball” in every way possible (more than I was lol). The day of the event, she was full of responsibility, respectful ethic, thoughtfulness, and patience... all while carrying contagious enthusiasm with endless creativity! She “sees” things differently, in the most beautiful of ways. However she isn’t pushy (like my original wedding photographer was) and goes above and beyond to serve you and your wishes during the event. She consistently made sure we were satisfied at each location before moving on to the next series of photos.
Trust me when I say *trust Tamara* to provide you your dream photos (and then some). Once I received my (timely) photos, I literally felt a physical response upon seeing them, and also never felt more beautiful in my life. My hub and I constantly hear how stunning our photos are. Multiple people have been brought to tears over the emotion they felt from them. My daughters also ADORED her. My shy one opened up easily to Tamara and her essence. I could go on, but I gotta stop somewhere! A TRUE ARTIST SHE IS. Scoring her would be one of the best gifts you give yourself and your loved ones. What a DREAM Tamara is!
We are so delighted we found Tamara! She was totally punctual, and as soon as she arrived got to work capturing what turned out to be some beautiful pre-wedding moments. After introducing herself to everyone she organized the whole family to start taking the photos we needed to get - she did an awesome job of handling the large group. She made us feel so at ease, and showed us how to pose for pictures. She had already scoped out the location ahead of time and had found a bunch of places to take beautiful photos, which really impressed us. And best of all, the pictures came out amazing! Tamara is a great photographer and takes quality photos! She was nice to work with and had a fun attitude. The number of pictures she took was also worth the value. I was bummed, however, that we were limited to taking our pictures in this tiny patio area behind plain walls instead of other areas like outside where the beautiful autumn trees were. There was even a nice fire pit we could have stood behind but we didn't have access to it for some reason. She did take a few shots outside with just me, the groom and our daughter, but it would have been nice to include the wedding party. With that said, she did a tremendous job capturing the reception with so many kodac moments that I missed. I'm so grateful she was there to capture our special day! -

Our overall experience with Tamara was fantastic. We were trying to find someone who had been to our venue and who we could afford and her rate was not only very affordable, but she had great reviews and someone who got married where we did personally recommended her. She was on time, knew exactly what pictures to take and how to get everyone there together so that the hour for photos was used to max capacity. It did take a little while to get pictures back but we ended up with almost 900 to look through and they were beautiful! They were all light and airy which fit our style and she captured our day to perfection! -

Amazing to say the least
Tamara is amazing!!! We had a very small intimate wedding due to Covid. She was timely in her responses and very affordable! She was so pleasant to work with I forgot she was even there which is what you want on your wedding day. I expressed to her I'm a huge fan of candids and while although I did want some posed photos candid moments are my favorite. She exceeded my expectation! I'm a very self conscious person and she made me feel so comfortable and honestly I look at these pictures and feel beautiful in them! She truly captured the day and is easy to work with! We unfortunately had to reschedule our wedding which was planned for Easter due to the Covid-19 state of emergency in Massachusetts (which prohibits gatherings) and the safety of everyone in general. We had scheduled a 2 hour photo shoot with Tamara and we paid a deposit of $100.
We reached out to Tamara explaining the situation and, because she was unable to accommodate our new wedding date, kindly asked her for our money back. She has refused to return that initial deposit treating it as a cancellation despite the events being outside our control and because we have no other need for a photo shoot. Under normal circumstances we would completely agree a cancellation like this would not entitle us to our money back but those are not normal times.
I do not recommend working with her – be aware that she will not refund your deposit under any circumstances, even during a crisis such as this. I can only say I am thankful it is only $100 we’re losing and although it’s being thrown away to her charity, it could be a lot worse.
