  Tall & Small Photography was absolutely incredible! Mike was not only extremely helpful and kind, but went above and beyond to ensure we had amazing photos to capture every moment of our wedding.
  There were so many times we didn't know the best location or the best way to approach something, and Mike was always there to help. He offered great advice and guided us throughout the day, making sure to capture all our important bridal/family portraits, as well as amazing candid shots of special moments throughout the evening. Before and during our event, he made sure to listen to what was important to us and communicated every step of the way.
  We are beyond grateful to Tall and Small Photography and cannot thank them enough! Our wedding and all our guests benefited greatly from having them there. We couldn’t recommend a better team to anyone looking for a photographer!

  Talented and Responsive Wedding Photographer

  Mike was an incredible wedding photographer who gave so much care in carrying out the couple's wishes. As a planner, having a vendor team that works in sync can make or break a wedding day and Mike was great at going with the flow of the wedding day but ensuring that all the requested photos and groupings had been made.

  Don't think, just book

  Mike was amazing, as were the images for our engagement and wedding! We would book him all over again and hope to work with him in the future. As an architect, I cared about having creative/thoughtful photos and Mike definitely delivered. He also helped us to make decisions for the timing of our wedding day and gave direction for posing,etc when needed. We genuinely loved having him be a part of celebrating with us and couldn't be happier with our photos.

  Wonderful wedding photographers!

  Working with Mike and Erin on our wedding day was absolutely wonderful. They gave us just enough guidance to get beautiful shots, and moved quickly, showcasing their professionalism and experience. They have such a calming nature that made me feel so at ease while they were shooting. We were blown away with the images we received back (and such a fast turnaround!). I knew when I first saw their work that they would do a great job shooting events with beautiful landscape backgrounds and they delivered. Looking through the photos we also realized how special it was having both of them as every single moment was captured, especially getting ready before our first look. The value of their services was unmatched - highly recommend!!

  Fun and talented photographers!

  Mike and Erin are a dream team! We felt so comfortable on our day with them behind the lens. We’ve generally not found this to be the case with previous photographers and feeling comfortable on the day was essential and very much appreciated. In the months/weeks leading up to our reception, Mike was very communicative and helped us nail down our photo list and timing for formal portraits. He and Erin were able to get through about 40 combinations of people in about as many minutes—the people-wrangling was very impressive! Mike and Erin also made sure to get all of the photos we wanted both before the party started and shortly after sunset, and also had a great eye for photo-worthy moments throughout the reception. We opted for the photobooth add-on, which I would highly recommend to anyone planning an event. It was a great way to get some extra (and unique) photos of people being silly—including the photographers themselves!

  Best photographer in Charlottesville!

  We hired Mike to photograph our daughter's wedding and he was amazing. He was very responsive and professional. He captured every detail of the wedding day and did so in an unobtrusive, fun way. We had the photos 2 weeks after the wedding day and were amazed at how beautiful they were. It rained on her wedding day and he brought a clear umbrella to photograph the bride and groom at night. The shots in the rain were our favorite shots - very impressive. He was fantastic - I can't recommend them highly enough.

  These guys are so so good, we can’t stress enough. Mike did our engagement shoot and was super easy going and easy to get along with. He worked with us, going to two separate locations to make sure we got the sunset photos we wanted in the best spots possible. For the big day- he kept us on our timeline and made sure we got all of the group shots we wanted. He somehow managed to be behind the scenes but still capture all of our special moments. I didn’t even hear any shutters during the ceremony! He showed up early and got awesome pictures of our venue and we absolutely loved our pictures. Turnaround time was also SUPER quick. Would highly recommend.

  Tall and Small rock!!!

  Mike and Erin are the best! Not only are they super easy to work with but they have a creative vision that created some amazing pictures for us! Neither my husband nor I are super comfortable in front of the camera but Mike and Erin made us feel totally at ease. We would highly recommend them! They really captured our wedding day perfectly and we couldn’t be happier with the results.

  Unbelievable

  We had the remnants of a hurricane come through on our wedding day and Mike somehow turned that into a great thing! Our photos were all amazing, but the ones in the rain were absolutely incredible. Our family and friends are still raving over them! I never thought I’d be more happy about using our rain plan than our original plan

In addition to excellent communication prior to our wedding, we felt comfortable and at ease working with Mike on our wedding day, even though it was the first time we met! In addition to putting us at ease, he was extremely organized and professional. And we could not be happier with the photos he shared afterwards. He did a beautiful job capturing the important moments of the day, in both formal and informal shots. We definitely want to work with them again in the future!

  The Best in the Business

  Tall + Small were one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day! The shots they come up with are phenomenal and they did a great job accurately capturing our day. From the more formal ceremony shots to the fun reception shots, they did a great job showcasing the tone of the day. They also are extremely efficient and we finished taking our pictures much faster than we had estimated giving my husband and I some down time just to ourselves, which honestly was one of my favorite moments from our wedding day. Mike and Erin are such a pleasure to work with and do a great job of making you feel natural in front of the camera. They also are extremely fast with getting your photos back to you, which we really appreciated! All in all I can't recommend these two enough!

  Fantastic!

  We had a very small ceremony, so we had the "tall" (Mike) of the Tall & Small team and he was fantastic! He was personable, relaxed, friendly. You could tell he really wanted to make sure he got the pictures we wanted. He braved poor weather and gave us STUNNING pictures. I HIGHLY recommend Tall & Small.

  Wow. Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. We are SO grateful we found Tall + Small - from the start they were prompt, professional, and wonderful to work with. Their eye is impeccable - after the wedding and before we received our pictures, we would say stuff like, 'Oh gosh, I hope they got that moment!' and of course, when we received everything, not only did they get every single moment we were wondering about with multiple stills, they captured so many other tiny and details and beautiful things that would have otherwise been forgotten to time - and not only did they just photograph that moment in time, but they photographed it from the best angle, with the best lighting and editing that anyone could wish for. We have so many INCREDIBLY gorgeous pictures from our big day, it's almost rather overwhelming trying to decide which ones to print and frame. On top of it all, they just happened to be really cool, awesome people to have around all night - in planning, you don't realize how important that is until you're in the full swing of things, having fun with those around you! Thank you so much for everything, Tall + Small!

  Wow. Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. We are SO grateful we found Tall + Small - from the start they were prompt, professional, and wonderful to work with. Their eye is impeccable - after the wedding and before we received our pictures, we would say stuff like, 'Oh gosh, I hope they got that moment!' and of course, when we received everything, not only did they get every single moment we were wondering about with multiple stills, they captured so many other tiny and details and beautiful things that would have otherwise been forgotten to time - and not only did they just photograph that moment in time, but they photographed it from the best angle, with the best lighting and editing that anyone could wish for. We have so many INCREDIBLY gorgeous pictures from our big day, it's almost rather overwhelming trying to decide which ones to print and frame. On top of it all, they just happened to be really cool, awesome people to have around all night - in planning, you don't realize how important that is until you're in the full swing of things, having fun with those around you!   Amazing Wedding & Engagement Photographers!

  We worked with Erin and Mike for our wedding in September and absolutely loved working with them. Here are a few reasons they were amazing:
  1. Very professional and organized - they'll have you fill out a detailed questionnaire so they are on the same page with you
  
  2. Make you feel very comfortable - I feel so awkward when people take my picture. They did a really good job of putting me at ease.
  
  3. Go with the flow- Other than the big family photos, I didn't know exactly what pictures I wanted taken a the wedding. I just ask them to go with they thought would be good. They got amazing pictures!
  
  4. BEAUTIFUL Pictures - we love the photos they took both for our wedding and engagement shoot. They got some amazing candid shots and some beautiful artistic ones as well.
  
  5. Lots of Pictures - They took a ton of pictures and got great coverage of the entire event

  Mike and Erin were an absolute delight to work with! They were accommodating, professional, thoughtful, and enthusiastic in all ways, and made our day a supremely comfortable one. The photographs of our wedding are absolutely gorgeous - Mike and Erin's care for their work and warmth for their clients shines through in everything they do.

  Mike and Erin were one of the first people we booked for our wedding and were definitely our favorite vendors. From the very first email, I knew that working with them would be a breeze and that they would be there for us every step of the way. They were extremely responsive to all my emails and were ready to troubleshoot any concerns that we had. They were very receptive to all our ideas and starting with our engagement shoot, they blew away our expectations. They made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera and even provided a changing room for me (i.e.: their car) during our outdoor shoot. On the day of the wedding, Mike + Erin were incredibly efficient and made it feel like they weren't even there, but at the same time we knew they were capturing all the moments that were so important to us. They were able to herd our family members for our formal pictures in a quick and easy process and also made sure that we were able to get the pictures that we wanted. They were always able to grab us quickly for some stunning pictures without making us feel like we were missing our own party. The sneak peaks of our pictures are amazing and I can't wait to see the rest of them. I look forward to working with them again for any future events and would highly recommend them if you're looking for some fun, quirky, and talented photographers.

He helped us clean up the booze my best man knocked over while getting ready, delivered a letter to my bride-to-be, brought us snacks and drinks, made sure our suits looked sharp, and so much more.
  
  I'd describe both his, and Erin's, "bedside manner" when shooting as patient and compassionate. It's not easy posing for hundreds of shots, but M&E made it a joyous experience.
  
  And, of course, their photos of us and our day came out perfectly. Their creativity and eye for the oft unseen have captured memories for a lifetime. I truly cannot recommend them enough as they are not only consummate professional photographers, but just down right awesome people period.
