As a creator(music producer, photographer) I was extremely hesitant to work with a videography company that specializes in weddings. Most of the wedding videos I would see online followed the same template and usually came out feeling very cookie-cutter and cheesy. With Symboll, this was so far from the truth.
Dan, our videographer was as stealthy as could be and one of the most professional creatives I’ve ever worked with. His movement and attention to detail brought out the best perspective and visuals of our perfect day. He captured it tremendously and became a friend in the process.
Our editor Misha wowed us from the beginning with the Teaser she sent us while on our honeymoon. Mind you, this was only a couple of weeks after the ceremony. Super Quick turnaround! It felt like a trailer for the next best romantic film. It had me in tears and so thirsty for more. Today I viewed the final video and was absolutely astonished by what they captured. I had to sit down because it had my wind. The vintage style and movement of the music made me feel like I was working with a music videographer and editor. From the transitions that align with the kick drum, to the coloring and movement that effortlessly flowed through our choice music. Absolutely superb film work. I hope to work with them again someday soon and highly recommend Symbol if you want a video that is entirely unique and structured to your taste and beautiful day. Our journey with Symboll started with our engagement shoot, where Josh, our photographer, captured some truly incredible photos of us. We loved the pictures so much that we used them for our wedding save-the-dates and invitations. Josh went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect shots, and his kindness and professionalism made the experience even more special.
Then came our wedding day, and the Symboll team exceeded every expectation! From start to finish, they made us feel like the most important people in the world. They were not only professional but also incredibly warm and accommodating, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. We visited multiple locations throughout the day, and no matter where we were, they captured breathtaking photos and videos that we will cherish forever.
Our photographers and videographers—Josh, Jake, Dean, and Julio—were absolutely phenomenal. Their attention to detail, creativity, and ability to capture raw emotions resulted in wedding photos and videos that we are completely in love with! Absolutely top-notch service. We worked with Christian and Atilla. Our photographer was Agata and videographer was Andranik. We had an intro call the week before to discuss our wants and needs. During the day of, they arrived with all of their fear ready to go. They were extremely directive and very pleasant to work with. They provided immense support both with the shoot and with calming our nerves from the whole day! They are extremely sweet and pleasant to work with and I could not recommend them more! The direction from both Agata and Andranik was extremely clear and very artistic. They catered to what we wanted and did everything in their power to make sure we go what we desired.

The Symboll team we worked with was absolutely amazing. Not only are they so good with directions and making sure you get the vision you want but the guys we had on our day were just so fun and personable and made us feel like a million bucks. Our lead photographer Julio and lead videographer Dean were so fun to work with and would always hype us up when we got a really good shot to the point where it was hard to "focus" when we would do more serious or romantic glances but in the best way. They really took their time with our romantic shots and were also super receptive to our bridal party wanting specific photos as well. They also worked so well with our live painter so that they could send him the photo we selected so he had a good reference when working on our painting. All in all we loved working with this team and we cannot wait to see the final photos and the final video as well. -

Can’t thank Symboll enough for being there with my partner and I on our special day! We had the pleasure of meeting David, our photographer and Eugene, our videographer. They were prompt and got to business right away. They were creative, had really unique ideas of where to position the bridal party. I especially loved how hands on David was. He told us exactly how to pose, what body positions to do to make the shot seem effortless. We didn’t have to think about angles at all. He was an expert! Excelent Job they did
what can I say! Dan and his crew were amazing. Me and my beautiful wife are not the type to glutton over ourselves in photos and videos. We just wanted a solid video for memories and of course to see our best friends and family. They did a spectacular job! made us feel very comfortable in our own skin no tricks or fakery : ) Really enjoyed their style of cinematic shooting as well, it was our lives turned into something beautiful, that still had the wedding touch to it. We loved working with our CineStory Films
We loved working with our CineStory Films crew on our wedding day. We had the 8 hour combo package, with 2 photographers and 2 videographers. My husband and I are not the type to pose for photos/videos, but the CineStory crew made us feel completely comfortable and got us amazing shots. They captured our day beautifully and we were able to relive our perfect day when we received the highlights video. -

Fantastic team for our wedding photo shoot. Very professional and helpful throughout the entire process, from meeting with us to understand our vision, to coordinating seamlessly day-of, and following up with us after the wedding to ensure the final product was just what we wanted. We had both photo and video services- both were excellent, with top notch upgrades like drone footage and very high-end recording equipment to ensure that everything was captured wonderfully. Would highly recommend for any wedding. -

They were a pleasure to work with. We used them for both of our weddings, Nigerian traditional (Southern CA) and our regular wedding(Northern CA). They were great with directing everyone and keeping us focused when stress ensued. The quality of their work was impeccable. Our wedding party and guest are still talking about Cinestory and loved the pictures and videos. It was a great experience and we are recommending them to all our friends and family. To be honest, we can't wait to have another event to use them at. They have different pricing packages and are well worth the money. They captured everything. We are now able to relive our wedding day every time we look at our pictures or watch our video. -

CineStory Films were my wedding videographers and wedding photographers for our wedding this past October, and I honestly cannot say enough good things about them. They took so many amazing photos and truly captured everything from the tender moments to the fun we were all having on the dance floor. The shots of my husband and me right after the ceremony are also better than I could have ever imagined. I am so happy to have found them and will be using them for all of our special moments going forward.
They are amazing! For wedding photographer and wedding videography this is the team you want. -

Of course we would recommend them - in fact, we did before they did our own wedding! They were that awesome at our engagement session.
Here’s the good, the bad, and the ugly: the Cinestory team rocks! We engaged with them to take our engagement photos and our wedding day photos. They did not disappoint!
For the engagement session, we flew one of the photographers up to the San Francisco Bay Area where we live and he recommended a few great spots to take photos. We coordinated schedules with him directly and we booked his flight. Cinestory was very flexible with us and communicated dates well ahead of time, which allowed us to work out the flight details. He brought a healthy gear with him for the session and gave us advice on what kind of shots typically work best and don’t work best. If you as a couple have ideas on where you want to go and what you’d like your photos to look like (poses, angle, etc... ) feel free to share that with them and they will accommodate.
After the engagement session, the Cinestory team gave us the edited photos faster than expected. The pictures were excellent!
In preparing for the big day, we had a planning session with them a week before to make sure they knew the exact location, time, needs, wants, nice to haves, yada yada yada. On the day of, they arrived early (which was a big help because other vendors arrived late, causing me - the groom - to momentarily become a groomzilla). Anyway, they arrived early, were dressed appropriately, and began to work right away. After they canvassed the wedding venue site, they came back to us and proposed a few places suitable for the first look. We did a first, second, and third look for photos, angles, and the drone (the drone shots look A-M-A-Z-I-N-G).
The team was also great at making sure we enjoyed the moment, particularly during our couple-only pictures. As you will learn, wedding days are hectic and everyone wants to talk to the bride and groom leaving little to no alone time. The photographers were great at making sure we had space to take it all in by pulling us to the side here and there — this allowed them to take amazing shots and it gave us (the couple) time to enjoy our wedding day just the two of us.
The photographers also worked wonders with our families and friends. They were funny and kept us entertained while they took pictures. Additionally, one of them spoke Spanish, which was really helpful since many of our family members only speak Spanish.
All in all, we paid for the extra time and we had them for the entire day. I’m not sure how they were able to keep up with us from the very morning until after the sparkler exit. The pictures came out beautiful and we could not have asked for a better team to record our memories.
Side story: we had a very good feeling from Cinestory after our engagement session that we recommended them to our friend, who threw two weddings, yes, two! Cinestory did both of their weddings and they too, picky bunch, had nothing but amazing things to say about their photos, videos, and overall experience.

Stunning Photos and Films!!! Check them out and you will understand!
Cinestory team are true professionals. Wedding videography and wedding photography is what they do. I was referred to him through my florist. I immediately loved the feel of their work that I saw on the website. Lots of creativity and fun! Our scheduling worked out and they were able to do my wedding date. Dan recommended my makeup artist whom he works with often. The Cinestory team really consider all the details.
So less than 5 weeks after my wedding our pictures were ready. Originally, I was given a slightly longer lead time, but it's always better to be pleasantly surprised.
My husband and I and all our family and friends love how the pictures and story video turned out.It was really important that the pictures captured the emotions of everyone there. And there were certain times (speeches/toasts/first dances) that we wanted for our video. Cinestory did exactly that perfectly.
Also, I'm not the skinniest bride but I feel like I look beautiful in the pictures.
My brother is getting married 2 months after my wedding, so now we are literally a few weeks out from my brother's wedding. My future sister in law loved our pictures by Owen Captures so much she booked her wedding with Cinestory. Dan thanked me for the referral but I just said their work speaks for itself. I can't think of a bigger compliment as a professional artist than someone changing their major wedding vendor last minute just to get the best! -

THey was very accommodating to all questions and requests from the beginning. I have to say that I always had a dozen questions for him, but he was always very responsive to both emails and phone calls throughout the process.
Dan and his team's talent truly showed in the highlight reel film that he made. If anything, make sure you buy this as part of your package. Our friends and family loved it!
I would highly recommend Dan to anyone looking for the best bang for their buck! -

Overall, I recommend CineStory Films! Their pre event communication was good, learned enough about us to make sure they covered the must-haves on the Big Day! They sent 2 photographers and 2 cameramen, and worked with us from 2-10:00pm that day. After about 6 weeks I got the photos and a wedding film. I wanted to cut a different version of the film myself, so I asked for all the raw material, which was sent to me quickly too. The only imperfection was that I found shots did by one of the cameramen were not good enough, they were either too short, too dark, or not steady. But if I did not ask for all the raw material, I would not see them. Meaning, the team definitely captured enough to cut together a beautiful film for me. What they did good: the photos we got were / are wonderful photos. No doubt. I would probably still recommend them but with some words of advice
What fell apart for me was the communication.
Onboarding was great. Christian was awesome to speak with and made me feel really comfortable with hiring them. After this though, it started to become a bit frustrating.
They specialize everything. Instead of a photographer handling every peice, they dole it out to different departments.
Prior to our wedding, this led to some confusion and timeline. Everything was through a middle man, and our photographer didn’t understand our timeline. This is because she was going off a timeline that was sent to her months prior, not the new one my planner sent. This also caused some confusion to my planner, as she didn’t understand who she was talking to. I also don’t think our vision was ever communicated to the photographer.
We spoke with our photographer once a week before the wedding. It was such a frustrating conversation because we weren’t in contact with her any earlier and I didn’t want to reiterate a timeline she should have had. I don’t blame her at all, but a week before the wedding is not the time to just now being allowed to speak to her.
During our wedding, the photos turned out wonderfully. We are really happy with them. However, some really key moments are missing. Our walking down the aisle, speeches, and entry into our venue photos are REALLY lack luster. We wanted a group photo, which never happened. We also wanted our photographer to do a portrait station. Every single person who wanted their picture taken we had to call the photographer over. Mind you this was a 30 person wedding, not a huge affair. At the end, people just took their own photos and had fun with our Polaroid camera. We specifically made sure a portrait time (30 min) would be okay. She wasn’t shooting anything else at this times. I think our photographer tapped out at this point as I had to ask her to come take photos.
Over all, the photos we have are GORGEOUS. But we are missing moments we would have liked to have.
Lastly editing. I get editing takes a long time. I never got a notice our photos were ready. I logged into the portal and there they were. It’s been over a week since I found my photos, and I still never got an email communicated they are ready. At this point, we assume they are good to go and shared them with people. I wish they closed out the experience, but they didn’t. I still have questions about prints and what not.
The photos we have are great. The communication was a bit annoying. Atilla really communicated to us like he was always annoyed at us. Our photographer was good, but again, not being able to communicate to her directly until a week before was frustrating and was definately a reason why some key moments were missing.

We hired Symboll to photograph and film our wedding, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. While the team seemed professional at first, the quality of the experience, especially the post-production, was lackluster. In addition, the lack of communication and the way the admin treated us was the most frustrating part of our wedding experience.
First, the turnaround time for our photos and video was extremely long. It took the editing team 8 weeks to deliver edited photos and the short wedding film. This was at the end of Symboll's estimated timeline of completion (which was 6-8 weeks after the wedding for all photos and videos). It took the editing team a month (4 weeks) to deliver a handful of edited photos (our "teaser), and that was sent only after reaching out to the client manager 4-5 times.
When we finally did receive our full photo album and edited short film, the quality of both the photos and the film was far below what we expected based on Symboll's extensive and impressive portfolio. The photo editing was subpar and rushed, some with blatant color or brightness issues, and the video quality was also mediocre, with most of it having color issues and editing that lacked the professional feel of Symboll's portfolio. We even put in a request to the video editing team to correct the coloring issues, and their "updated" video edit still used the default camera manufacturer's color corrections, which made our video look dark and blurry, sepia- filtered, and green-tinted, and ultimately unusable. We paid for an edited wedding video, and did not receive a usuable product. See the screenshots attached for reference.
Many important moments of the wedding were also missed, as the photographer only got 1 (!) photo of my family and the bride's family where people were not properly posed / positioned. Even among the raw photos, we could not find shots of my wife's step-father, and limited usable photos of other guests. This was deeply upsetting to our families, as my mother doesn't even have photos she likes to frame and keep in the house.
Prior to the event, we had made a spreadsheet and met with the photo/video team to go over a run of day and priorities - these moments were still missed. This is in addition to the large amount of time and effort I put into the Symboll feedback portal to describe the our preferences and taste. To hit the promised 450 edited photos included in our package (C2), the editing team included dozens of "filler" photos that consisted of arbitrary articles of furniture and exterior shots of our home that had nothing to do with the wedding itself.
Communication with the Symboll team was another major issue. The client manager was either hostile towards us or would flat-out not answer when my wife and I would reach out and ask for updates during the editing process. We only reached out when Symboll was late on deliverables, which the team blamed on being busy due to the "time of year" (the wedding was at the end of October). We felt dismissed and unheard in the weeks following our wedding. For the amount we paid, we expected much better customer service and quality.
Don't be fooled by Symboll's sleek website and high-quality marketing materials. I wouldn't recommend this company to any future couples who are looking for a stress-free experience with reliable professionals. Weddings are once-in-a-lifetime events, and it's incredibly disappointing when a company you trust to capture those memories falls short. -
