I can not thank Swords Sounds enough, Robert Sword went above and beyond for our vow renewal ceremony. He was attentive to our every need or request, knowledgeable with each && everything, he always kept us in the loop with what was happening and what was coming next and even in a pinch with time, made sure that we never had to stress about a single thing. My wife and I hired Robert from Sword Sounds for our Wedding at Harper’s Vineyard in Townsend, TN and would absolutely do it again.
He did a great job coordinating different parts of the evening, having contingency plans for rain, setting the mood the during the whole event, and was extremely helpful during the planning phase. Robert and his son were wonderful to work with at our wedding! Music is really important to my husband and he was extremely pleased with all that Robert did to help us make our day so special. Our Perfect Day
Sword Sounds absolutely made our day. Rob took all of our recommendations, but also gave us great recommendations that we went with and our music was perfect. He is so good at reading the crowd and tailoring the music accordingly. He made the perfect playlist and the whole crowd was dancing all night. Not only is he the best DJ, but also went above and beyond to make sure we were on schedule and adjusted when we got held up with photos. He made sure my husband and I had everything we needed all night! Our day was absolutely perfect and he was a huge reason!! We highly recommend!!

My husband and I hired Robert and we were so grateful we had him and his assistant for our wedding day! Robert was very professional and knowledgeable about any and all types of music. We spoke to Robert shortly before the wedding to go over our schedule and any important songs like our first dance, etc. I gave Robert a pretty lengthy list of songs and he went exactly off that list. One great thing we noticed about Robert was how he knew how to read a room, and played music based on the vibe at the time. We loved this! He made booking and entrusting someone with our music choices a breeze. We couldn't recommend Robert enough!!

From the very first phone call to the last hour of wedding day, Rob provided outstanding service as not only a DJ, but a day-of-coordinator. He ensured that every detail was thought out and provided excellent recommendations on various aspects of wedding day. He had great insight into what guests love to see at weddings and knows how to get people moving on the dance floor! He honored every song request we asked for and kept the reception organized while maintaining a natural flow to the dance party. Great DJ with a fun personality and professionalism
Rob was wonderful! The way he plans the evening out is very thoughtful, and as someone who tends to think of every detail, I was pleasantly surprised to find he was already on it! He is meticulous about making sure he is selecting the right music (especially the specific song requests) and it shows. On the day of, he was very friendly with our guests and was great about tailoring music to the tone of the evening. We unfortunately had a lot of last-minute cancellations so the dance floor wasn't nearly as full as we were expecting it to be. Rob took it in stride though and kept the party alive! His selections were great, and I appreciated his help in moving the events of the evening along at the perfect pace. Our venue enthusiastically recommended him to us, and I absolutely see why! Helpful, flexible, and organized DJ!
Robert was so wonderful from the start, working with me to find the right package for our wedding. I had less than 50 people at my wedding and my main concern was if people were going to dance Robert made sure to play some well-timed crowd pleasers. He also included fun ideas for the bouquet toss. In addition, he was really critical to helping the ceremony run smoothly as he helped pace everyone and practiced with us. My wedding was in Fontana Village in North Carolina so he came across state lines without additional fees! The whole night he made sure we were eating and having fun and overall really helped keep the evening going on schedule for us to do everything we wanted. He's definitely someone you want in your corner on a stressful day especially if you don't have a planner or coordinator.

Working with Rob for our wedding reception this past July was a pleasure - he's very professional and thorough. I was impressed with his commitment to making the day go perfectly. Before and during the wedding, he was very attentive to the details and proactive about keeping the event on track. I didn't have to worry about a thing once I briefed Rob on how the night should go. Package pricing is very fair for a great quality DJ service - we have all been to weddings where the dance floor is a total flop, but Rob did an excellent job with music, lighting, and emceeing. It was all professional grade and we had a great party. He has a really easy to use online song request system and he will definitely make sure you get to hear the songs you want to hear. Rob seriously set the bar for responsiveness and kindness. From day one (literally), he was quick to communicate and detail oriented. At no point during the planning of our wedding, did i ever worry about him or doubt his preparedness. On the day of our wedding, he immediately greeted me at the door and instantly starting helping (he even helped with my flowers!).

The Boticas
Rob with Sword Sounds was a perfect picture of everything a DJ service ought to be and then some.
From the pricing to the last second changes to the day-of, he went well out of his way to ensure things went the way we wanted for our wedding. Rob was beyond just accommodating, and he communicated perfectly (not too little, not too much) the whole time we worked with him.
We also rented, as an extra service, his "Insta Booth," which was a fantastic service that we didn't even realize we or our guests needed. The ability for them to text their own pictures to themselves with a custom frame was awesome, and it gave everybody something to share about their trip to celebrate with us right away. It was a hit, and it basically provided all our guests souvenir photos to remember the night. As a bonus, it serves as an extra "guest book" where we get to see all the photos of our families and friends enjoying themselves.
DJ Sword got everybody dancing, listened to our requests perfectly, did what was asked, avoided what was asked to be avoided, and played host as well. Given the quotes we received from others for a similar service, I am positive we could have found no greater value.
We cannot recommend Sword Sounds strongly enough. Fantastic DJ, photo booth was awesome and so fun, and everything was a fantastic value.

We got so many compliments on the playlist thanks to Robert, as well as a lot of compliments on Robert himself. Our guests loved him! When requests were made, they were played almost immediately and every 'must-have' that my husband and I requested during our planning process was played. Rob was awesome, I can’t say enough positive things about him and his work! He was hired through my wedding planning team as part of my package. He stayed in communication with me, when the wedding planners had me stressed; he provided support and assurance that everything would go well. He was a huge part of making our day perfect and ensuring that everything went as planned. I highly recommend him, his music library is impeccable, he keeps the right tone through the whole event, he is lots of fun and he is someone you can count on!
Oh and you should also check out his digital photo booth package! It was so easy to use, doesn’t take up much space and all our guests had so much fun with it!

Our wedding was very unique and had quite a few interesting ideas that may not be found among the normal wedding fare. Sword Sounds went out of their way to ensure they had equipment for both ceremony site and reception site. They were fantastic hosts for all our announcements and several guest games. More than a DJ
Robert did so much more than play music. He helped us with coordinating and making sure things went smoothly. He took additional pictures, offered help, and just overall made sure we were taken care of. We initially were not going to hire a DJ because "we can just play music ourselves." But we decided it was worth it. Thankfully we found Robert who showed us it was worth it. 10/10 would highly recommend.

Robert was awesome! He was patient and generous when we had to reschedule our wedding due to COVID and was exactly what we needed at our rescheduled wedding. He was very helpful throughout the entire process from beginning to end. He was even patient as we were overzealous in putting too many things into our do not play list. My now husband and I hired Sword Sounds last fall for our 5/8/2021 wedding and the owner, Robert and his business partner, Dan, were so easy to work with from the get-go. They were responsive, accommodating and just easy to work with. The month prior to the wedding, I was in touch regularly with Dan, who made sure he had every song we wanted for the ceremony and reception downloaded ahead of time just in case the WiFi wasn’t strong enough. Fast forward to yesterday and Dan was just AWESOME! We had a relatively small wedding (56 guests total came) and not too many dancers, but he made it all work seamlessly. It really was the most perfect day. We ABSOLUTELY recommend Sword Sounds for your wedding or event!!

Book Rob, you won't regret it!
My husband and I were so impressed by Rob's professionalism, organization, friendliness, and attention to detail—from our first phone consultation to the end of our reception.
During our first conversation, he was very thorough in explaining his typical process and asked us several questions about our wedding vision to ensure he helped us achieve it. It was an easy decision to book him, and he was prompt in following up with our client portal information to start choosing our songs and sharing details. The portal was easy to use and had a very wide music selection. Later on, we ended up postponing our wedding a few months and Rob responded to my email within hours to hold our new date for us.
We had another very thorough consultation with Rob a month before the wedding, when we discussed the complete timeline of the day, important moments, key details, and more. And when the wedding day came, he and his assistant executed all of those plans seamlessly. We knew exactly what to expect; he delivered on everything we discussed and more. He kept people dancing and everyone had an amazing time. We've had several people tell us it was the best wedding they'd ever attended!
It was also a pleasant surprise to see, a few days after the wedding, that he had taken several pictures throughout the day as well, which were all accessible through an album on Facebook.
We could tell he really cared about making our wedding special and made us feel like the day was just as important to him as it was to us. If you're looking for a DJ who will go above and beyond, Rob is your guy!

Rob Sword is the best DJ around. I hired him for my June 7, 2019 wedding, and we were all so impressed with his professionalism, kindness, and going beyond his job description to make sure that me (the bride) and my husband had our needs met throughout the evening. He always asked us if we needed anything and even brought us drinks during the photography. He was incredibly responsive throughout the entire wedding planning process, worked with our budget, and was so flexible with last minute changes. You also don’t have to worry about finding any of the music you want. He will gladly do that for you and even buy music if he doesn’t already have it. We were amazed at how he engaged our guests and even got guests who were not initially dancing up on the dance floor. He brought his son who was also an amazing help that evening. Rob did an absolutely fantastic job DJing our wedding! Let me preface this by saying that I have a lot of experience DJing myself, so I was much more critical than the average person. Rob was an excellent communicator, always emailing / calling to touch base and make sure all of my questions were answered. He had a great knowledge of the equipment he was using, as well as the entire process from ceremony to reception. There were many details I hadn't thought of that he helped with, which proved to be very valuable.
Rob's music selection was top-notch. He provided easy-to-use software for making my own playlist, and had almost every uncommon song I was looking for. The songs he didn't have he was able to get at no additional charge. As he told me the first time we spoke, he thinks of the DJ as the "master of ceremonies", and he really was. He did all the announcements, worked with all of the other vendors to make sure everything was on time, and really went above and beyond for us - including helping to bustle my wife's dress! There is a reason this guy has hundreds of 5 star reviews, because he truly is great at what he does - and his experience in the industry really shows!

My wife and I have eclectic tastes and Robert, with very little input from us, beside a list of songs we like and a list of songs we do not, handled it from there. I have no idea where's to begin. Rob is amazing and really knows what he is doing! After receiving multiple quotes from other DJ services in the Knoxville area starting at $1,500, I found Sword Sounds. He worked with us on our budget and helped us find a price that would work for both of us. Leading up to the wedding he was always very responsive, returning calls/emails the same day, or early the next day. His online tool is great because you add a song to the list to be played any time, and you don't have to keep up with ANOTHER list. Our wedding day was great and everyone had so much fun. We are still receiving complements on a daily basis about how much fun it was 3 weeks later. He kept everyone engaged and while none of us can dance, we danced (or tried) all evening! I would recommend Rob and Sword Sounds to anyone who asked!

Robert was wonderful!! Our plan quickly changed from outside to inside then back to outside and he was able to make it all work for us during that stressful time. Always positive, upbeat and professional! The music was great and his website to add to your playlist was so user friendly. It made picking songs fun!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Rob was amazing. We planned a two day event, and arranged everything from out of town. Rob was great to work with, open to scheduling phone meetings, and was absolutely a dream on the day of the event. He went above and beyond- showed up early, assisted with set up and directing guests, and even brought the groom and I a plate of food when no one else did. He kept the feeling of the party exactly as we wanted, and just did an overall outstanding job.

Robert was amazing! He was always available if you needed to discuss about details. He made sure to go over every detail with you and made sure he had every song that you wanted and when you wanted it. On the day of, he made sure to keep on schedule and was always close by if you needed something! He always knew the right music to play and when. Robert does his job extremely well. He knows all the details of how everything should be. I could not have found anyone else better for my special day. I appreciate everything he did for us.

Robert was professional, easy to work with, and for a particular bride like me very happy to do exactly what was asked of him. My mother prefers less MC'ing from the DJ and he was happy to accommodate that. Additionally I wanted to provide a very detailed play list and again he was happy to follow that. That said- in our prep call a few days prior to the wedding he took the chance to provide a few suggested improvements which were HUGE HITS. He suggested rather than the ~5 michael Jackson songs i had on my playlist that i could instead go with his 8 minute Michael Jackson Medley. Now let me tell you- my groom and all of the groomsmen had the most epic dance off for all 8 minutes (including my 6'4 -250lb groom being lifted into the air- ha). I am pretty sure my guests are still laughing about it. Thank you Robert for being accommodating, professional, and easy to work with. I know I was more particular than some, but he can do everything from follow a specific list to getting inspiration from a partial list you provide to picking all of the songs himself. If you are looking for someone easy to work with who will do a great job- I'd highly recommend Robert.

I seriously could not have asked for anyone better to be our DJ! Mr.Robert went above and beyond his duty as a DJ and made sure we were taken care of the whole night! From bringing us appetizers out before our introduction, helping the girls bustle my dress, making sure we had champagne for our toast, kept the crowd involved and he was sure to accommodate all our guest with request and EVERYTHING in between! HE made our night AMAZING and deserves way more than 5 stars!

Choosing any vendor for a wedding is hard work, especially since I planned the wedding from out of town. I feel so lucky that I picked Rob to be my DJ. He went above and beyond what we expected from a DJ. They were attentive to our needs during the wedding without being intrusive. They were super helpful when small changes happened to the timeline. We had an afternoon wedding, so the guests left a little earlier than I expected, and he was super flexible in playing the closing songs that we had planned. For future couples, Sword Sounds was never a point of stress for me during the planning phase, and everything was smooth and easy.

Rob was absolutely amazing! I was feeling very stressed the week before the wedding until I got a call from Rob. He completely put my mind at ease. I didn't really know how the wedding timeline would look, but he planned everything for me and got my input on it all. He gave me suggestions and examples for things and let me take the time I needed to decide on things. I remember getting off the phone and talking to my mom saying, "Oh my goodness! I feel so much better and way less stressed just by talking to Rob. He seriously knows what he's doing!" During the wedding he was very accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure we were having a good time. We took longer than expected on pictures, but it wasn't a problem at all because Rob had it handled! He was on top of it, changing the schedule where needed and telling us where to go and what to do. We were so lucky to have him! He was nothing short of amazing, and if you are stressed about finding a DJ for your wedding, which I'm sure you are (I certainly was!), look no further. You can check it off the list!

Rob did a great job meeting me twice before the wedding and downloading songs I wanted. He was very professional, and at a great price! Thanks for helping a crowd I didn't think would be on the dance floor, be on the dance floor all night! My husband doesn't even dance and he was out there! I would recommend Rob to friends!

Rob did a wonderful job with our wedding! His formula for the flow of the music for the reception worked perfectly. He interacted with our guests early on and succeeded in getting everyone involved on the dance floor. Everyone I spoke with after the fact said they loved him. My cousins even want him to travel to Ireland whenever they get married. Another group was thrilled because he played everything they requested. Rob really just did a terrific job making our reception the party we were looking for.

Robert from Sword Sounds was one of the best vendors at our wedding. He was always extremely flexible with us and didn't bat an eye when we decided to change some things up. On the day if he arrived on time (actually I'm pretty sure he was plenty early), jumped in to help out in other parts of the wedding, and checked on my husband and me throughout the night to make sure we didn't need anything. Overall, I am so glad we went with Sword Sounds and am grateful that Robert was there to be a part of our big day.
