Gorgeous Venue

Switzer Farm was a perfect venue for our wedding. Due to the pandemic, we began working with Gary to plan our wedding a year and a half in advanced. Gary is one of the most responsive individuals I’ve ever worked with and provides details of information- which as someone who likes to plan, I loved! In the venue contract, there are stipulations that require a wedding planner, and I can’t recommend highly enough how helpful that was. Staying in the house was incredible and made it so easy to enjoy our wedding weekend. We not only hosted the ceremony and reception of 65 guests there, but also the rehearsal luncheon with 45 guests on the deck. We used the bluff for the ceremony, the garden for the cocktail hour and the lawn for the reception. Our friends and family raved about how beautiful the location was and how unique everything felt. Our bridal party of 18 stayed in the house with us and could not stop complimenting all the details that Gary has put into the house. My only advice would be to brides that don’t have the time, is that this venue is not all-inclusive. All vendors will have to be hired on your own time and therefore, if you don’t think you can put in all the time that it takes to coordinate such an endeavor, this may not be the venue for you. But if you do have the time, all the work is completely worth it.

If you want the most magical wedding, choose Switzer Farm!

My husband and I held our wedding here in late September and it was the most magical and special day. Switzer Farm is the venue of a lifetime. We knew we wanted to have a venue where our friends and family could stay with us and Switzer was just that. It is a beautiful setting, right on the ocean. The house is like a museum with all it's amazing historical artifacts. Gary, the owner, was incredibly kind, responsive, and helpful. He went above and beyond to make sure our day was special and we are so appreciative. We would HIGHLY recommend Switzer Farm for the wedding of your dreams. Thanks Gary!!!

The PERFECT setting for your perfect day!

Switzer Farm was a dream come true. The house and the grounds were something out of a storybook and made for the most perfect day me and my husband could have imagined. Gary was super helpful and responsive. He provided us with everything we needed to make the day stress free. The kitchen is incredible, the house is beautifully restored and very comfortable and the property itself is... well, nothing short of breathtaking. I honestly couldn't recommend it enough. It exceeded our expectations, and they were already pretty high! haha

Absolutely stunning location

What can I say about Switzer Farm. The victorian house is spectacular. Every detail in the house is amazing from the artwork, antique furniture, to the door hinges. We had a very small intimate wedding of 30 guests, and 20 were able to stay in the house the whole wedding weekend. Not only is the house amazing, but the grounds which the house is on and the views from the property are stunning. There are many options for ceremony and reception locations, from inside the house, on the veranda, the flower garden, lawn, or right alongside the cliff. There are so many different backdrops, from the house, the ocean, the field, and the trees. Gary was wonderful to work with. He answered all of our questions and made sure we had everything that we needed. I need to find another reason to stay at this house. It was the perfect location for my wedding.

The perfect wedding venue

I seriously loved everything about this venue. Gary, the owner is helpful, responsive and has paid attention to every little detail to make things easy for caterers and other vendors.

Inimitable Wedding Venue in Northern California

We realized our dream wedding in Switzer Farm, and could not be happier with how everything went throughout our stay. Even though my husband and I had toured the beautiful venue twice before booking—staying there and experiencing it over our long wedding weekend was something else.

It left a deep and memorable impression on us and all of our guests. Gary's attention to detail and love for the home shows in its every nook and cranny. The setting and views are incomparable to anywhere else we’ve stayed in California. Since our first viewing in early 2018, the exterior landscaping had grown into a wonderful oasis of color and life. The grounds are well kept yet still feel wild. And the grandeur of the Pacific Ocean can be felt and seen from anywhere on the property.

Gary was so helpful throughout our planning with quick responses to our endless questions. There’s nothing about our experience we would want to change or improve upon.

Best experience of our lives!

It hard to put in words how amazing Switzer Farm truly is! We got married here a month ago and it was such a magical experience. We met with Gary (owner) about 18 months before we tied the knot and he could not have a better host along the way! He was tremendously helpful in every way, checking in with us throughout the process, sharing updates, running ideas by us, and really making sure our time at Switzer Farm was unforgettable. Sure enough, it was!!! The house, the deck, the views are one of a kind and I cannot thank Gary and Switzer Farm for letting us share our wedding with all our friends and family there. Thank you, and I can't wait to come back in years to come!

Highly Recommend!!!

I couldn’t have asked for a better venue. It made our wedding so dream like. The attention to detail in all areas of Switzer farm were spectacular. The view was breathtaking. Gary was very helpful in answering any questions we had as well as recommended amazing vendors that made our day so special. I’d recommend this venue 100%!!! Worth the 12 hour drive from SoCal!!! :)

Dream Wedding.

Dream wedding

We were looking for the perfect place to have our wedding and the Switzer Farm checked every impossible box that we had. Gary was so amazing to work with and the house was one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. I wouldn’t have changed one single thing about our special weekend. Where the Forest Meets the Ocean, My heart will always be full

I can't believe it took me this long to write a review of Switzer Farm, but somehow i didn't realize I did not send it before, probably because I am still in a Newlywed high from October.

Gary, Dolores, Switzer Farm, and the surrounding area are an absolute dream. Working with Gary was seamless, communicative, and very well organized. He was consistently there to help us along the way and answered all of our questions in a hurry. Additionally, he was able to work with us to accommodate all of our needs, special and ordinary.

I cannot say how beautiful Switzer Farm is and have it mean anything to you without seeing it yourself, but the place is pure magic. Gary has spent so much time ensuring every detail is taken care of and this place should be high on your list for your special occasion.

I can't wait to go back.

Amazing, perfect location

Our wedding at Switzer Farm was fun and enjoyable, and was so much more than I imagined it could be. Switzer Farm was the perfect backdrop to the occasion for us, and all our guests were blown away by the property, view and restoration of the farm. We held a relatively small wedding with 32 adults and 2 babies, and had booked the venue knowing there was a chance of rain. Indeed it rained almost all weekend but that did not bother us much, as the place is as beautiful in perfect sunny weather as it is in cloudy, foggy or even stormy weather. Due to the rain we moved our lunch indoors into the living and dining rooms, leaving the kitchen open for chefs and servers. We used a 15 minute window when the rain lightened up to hold our ceremony in the garden, but our backup plan to hold it on the veranda would have worked as well.
Half of our guests stayed on the property, and there was plenty of space in the house for us to comfortably cook and hang out during the days before the wedding. The other half of our guests stayed in Westport's BnB/inns and had a great stay as well.
Gary, the owner of Switzer Farm, was an amazing host who was always very communicative and responsive. We had a good time working with him during the planning stages, and he was also quick in answering our questions during the weekend itself.
We'd booked the venue without seeing it first, and it was one of the best decisions we made for the wedding. I highly recommend anyone who's considering Switzer Farm to book the venue, it is as beautiful, if not more, than in the photos.

Awesome, we loved it

Beautiful but remote location, so preparation and planning are key. We did hit a couple snags but all were resolved very quickly. Overall the experience was exactly what we wanted and would definitely recommend.

Small wedding weekend

I knew Switzer Farm is where we wanted to get married the second that we walked onto the property. The house and property alone is breathtaking and I will never forget the weekend that we had there. Gary is one of the most generous and considerate people that I have ever met - he greeted us with a smile and we could tell he really took passion in this project of a home and it shows. Every detail that Gary has inserted into the house is immaculate and appears like it came from the original house. The back doors open up onto a huge porch where we had dinner on our wedding day, overlooking the ocean. If you are even thinking about having this as your venue, you should do it. You will not be disappointed with the venue or the owners of the home. We spent Thursday to Sunday there, with a big taco dinner on Thursday, field day of games on Friday, wedding preparation on Saturday and a departure breakfast on Sunday.
