Best Wedding Desserts
Ennis did a phenomenal on our wedding cake and cupcakes! Everyone at the wedding couldn't stop raving about them. Ennis was so easy to work with and had flexible times to meet for cake taste testing. She was able to make the changes we requested in a timely manner. Would recommend Ennis to anyone having a wedding close to or in Lake Lure, North Carolina! -

Amazing cake and cupcakes!!
Ennis did a wonderful job with our wedding cake and cupcakes!! The flavors were amazing and our guests even took cupcakes home. She made our vision come true and did a fabulous job! Would highly recommend for anyone's wedding in the future! -

Fantastic cake!!
Ennis’ customized cake was everything I dreamed of. Not only was it beautiful but it was delicious also! Everyone raved about how good the cake was. Ennis was so amazing to work with! She was so responsive, kind, and professional. When we went for our cake tasting all the cakes tasted incredible and we had a beautiful time in Lake Lure. I absolutely love cake so having an amazing tasting and looking wedding cake was super important to me. I wanted a black wedding cake, and Ennis did an amazing job! Her design was perfect, the black fondant tasted delicious, and it didn’t stain our teeth! I’m so grateful we had her design our cake because it came out better than i could have imagined and tasted incredible too! -

Sweets of Lake Lure
My husband and I had a winter elopement ceremony in Chimney Rock, and because of great reviews, we choose to order a cake from Sweets of Lake Lure. We couldn’t have been happier with the cake and the service! The cake was delivered and set up without a hitch, but the best part was eating the cake! It was moist and delicious. We ordered a Chai spice cake which was the perfect density. Light and fluffy wouldn’t have been desirable for this type of cake, and they know what they are doing, so it was spot on! We visit the area about once a year, and I already have plans to order a cake to pick up the next time we visit! -

Ennis was so easy to work with and the cake was beyond amazing!! We went with chocolate peanut butter for the top layer and chocolate espresso for the bottom. The cake was moist and the filling was decadent! We are very happy with what we got for the money and would absolutely order another cake from them. -

Ennis made such a beautiful cake and cupcakes for our wedding. Everyone raved about how tasty the cupcakes were and the flowers on the cake also looked so real. Ennis really was spot on with what we wanted for a cake and cupcakes and she definitely had the blend of beauty and tastiness down in our wedding cake. I highly recommend as she was super easy to work with and made sure our cake was delivered properly to our venue. In addition to how beautiful the cake was, it was very delicious! The two-layered chocolate and vanilla cake was nicely balanced. The butter cream frosting was delightful and complementary to the cake. The cupcakes, themselves, were a hit. All of them were devoured. We highly recommend Ennis and hope to have her make more wonderful desserts for future life events. -

Ennis made a Beautiful and delicious cake for our wedding. It fit our rustic woodland theme perfectly. Everyone thought it was amazing and were impressed at the taste. Almond and fresh raspberry!!!! We had decided on a big cake so everyone could take home some which was a hit. And we had so much extra for us to take home for extra as well as enough for our one year anniversary! -

Ennis created a beautiful tiered cake for a family reunion we were having on Lake Lure and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was responsive to emails made it easy to select the best cake for our needs. We picked up our cake from her and she packaged the cake so well that it made it all the winding way back to the house without smearing any of the frosting. The cake itself was stunning and most importantly absolutely delicious. I don't think there was a crumb left. I would highly recommend working Ennis for any of your cake needs! -

Ennis was wonderful to work with. She gave us plenty of options, worked with us to create a gorgeous and beautiful cake, and then made it easy on the actual wedding day with the delivery. We'd absolutely recommend her for anyone getting married in the area.
(Also the cake was some of the most delicious I've had, which is surprising for a wedding cake. Def. recommend the chocolate raspberry.) -

Beautiful naked wedding cake!
We opened a wedding venue (The Pond at Laurel Cove) in July and Ennis was chosen to make our first wedding cake. She is very professional and enjoyable to work with. Our bride chose a 3 tier naked wedding cake. It was red velvet with white ganache icing and just a tasty as it looked. Ennis’ ordering process was very easy and she made sure our bride was happy with the choices offered. She was meticulous in her delivery to ensure the wedding cake was a show piece! We will definitely recommend Ennis and the Sweets of Lake Lure to our brides.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Ennis! Since our wedding was a destination wedding, we didn’t have the opportunity to taste test any of our desserts. Ennis had outstanding reviews, responded to me within the hour, called me, and gave me recommendations for how many desserts I would need for our guest count. The process was 100% stress free! And on top of that...our desserts were UNBELIEVABLE. Our guests absolutely loved them (especially the chai cupcake), and our cake was to die for. We got a small cutting cake for ourselves that was funfetti and buttercream frosting! Everything from the cake, cookies, cupcakes, and display were absolutely perfect. I cannot thank her enough for making this process so easy, & delicious! Thank you Ennis! -

Absolutely a pleasure to work with. Quick response time and very flexible with our schedule. We requested a cake tasting while visiting our venue - Rumbling Bald Resort. She was able to schedule a time on short notice. Very personable, felt like we already knew her. Cake tasted great, which as I'm sure if you've ever been to a wedding before you'll know that isn't always the case. Great flavor options. We did a gold dusted cake and provided fresh flowers. She did an incredible job with the fresh flowers and came at the perfect time (it had rained that day so we were concerned about the cake holding up). Even with road closures due to weather the cake was on time and in perfect condition. Prices were reasonable and worth every penny. Wouldd highly recommend to anyone looking for a yummy cake with a professional who makes any vision you have come alive. -

BEST. CAKE. EVER! I am so glad that we decided to work with Ennis and Sweets of Lake Lure for our wedding cake! The cake was not only beautifully done but SO delicious! Each tier was a different flavor and every one was moist and flavorful! The price was right in our budget and we were not disappointed. I think we have found our forever cake maker for all future events! We would recommend Sweets of Lake Lure to anyone who is looking for fantastic customer service, great prices, delicious flavors, and impeccable quality! -

Best cake ever!
Ennis is amazing! My husband & I were having a destination wedding & I was having difficulty planning from 3 hours away. Ennis is the one vendor who made everything simple & easy! She was very responsive, friendly & planning with her was a breeze! And on top of that, the cake & cupcakes we had at the wedding were the best we’ve ever tasted! We decided to do a small red velvet cake for us to cut, then cupcakes otherwise for the guests. The cupcakes were delightful, specifically the chocolate! We did chocolate/chocolate, vanilla/vanilla, banana/cream cheese frosting! Also included the wood stand which added a nice touch, and she decorated everything beautifully for the set up! -

Ennis was amazing as were her cakes! We got 2 cakes from her and both were so delicious! I was blown away with the quality of the cakes as well as the decorative icing on the groom's cake and the beauty of the wedding cake. My husband and I knew when we tried her cakes we had found the right person to make our cakes. She saw our vision and brought it to life! I highly recommend Ennis for any and all cake needs! A wedding cake for us, birthday cake for my dad, cupcakes, cake pops, and even parfaits for the gluten free guests. She was open to anything! Everything was not only picture perfect, but absolutely delicious! There wasn't anything left by the end of the night. She's fun and easy to work with. Always quick to respond, and her prices are wonderful! She also does a tasting before the big day so you can figure out exactly what cake, icing, and toppings you might want! I highly recommend her if you have a wedding or event coming up and you want stress free planning, and beautiful/ delicious desserts or wedding cakes.

When we had our tasting, I didn't have a solid vision for our cake and gave her only a few ideas I had for our New Orleans themed design. She took my ideas and created a beautiful cake and cupcakes. The wedding cake and cupcakes were beyond delicious. They were moist and flavorful, and the buttercream icing is tremendous. Our guests raved about how good everything was. They were disappointed when we ran out of cake. They all wanted more!

Ennis of Sweets of Lake Lure went out of her way to make our wedding cake special for our special day! She was patient with communication as we were three states away and took her time in learning what our wants and needs were. She was very attentive to detail and made great suggestions for our small wedding, even going out of her way to package it for transport and delivering it at a time that was convenient for us at a location that was convenient for us (We didn't ask, she offered)! We are planning a destination wedding to NC, and our venue recommended this bakery. We recently went up to NC to meet all of our vendors and Ennis met us in a parking lot to give us our cupcakes to try that we PAID for. Every other place I have heard of let’s you try them for free if you have already put a deposit down (which we did). She did not greet me and ask if I was the bride. She just gave us the cupcakes. She did not follow up and ask how they were. I am a huge fan of sweets and it’s hard to disappoint me. The flavor tasted very sweet and like fruit loops. Our flavors were lemon lavender and chocolate with white icing. The icing was so hard and we couldn’t eat them the next morning because they were stale. I was so disappointed and we will not be continuing working with her. I lost the deposit (of course) and 42$ that we spent on a dozen cupcakes for my family and I to try.
