Saved the Day

I needed a second, much cheaper, off-the-rack dress for our choreographed first dance. (My main dress was a full ballgown style which would not allow the freedom of movement necessary.) I went to Suzanne’s for their 4th of July sale and found the perfect dance dress. I had the off shoulder straps converted to regular straps and had alterations to make the dress fit. The alterations process was a little bumpy (bra cups were added after pinning for the first fitting which made the dress initially too small) and I could tell at times the seamstress was stressed (very busy). However, at the end of the day, the dress fit absolutely perfect and it was amazing for our dance. It even saved the day because my main dress ended up being too large to dance in at all, so I wore the Suzanne’s dress for the rest of the night! Photos by Nicole Barr Photography.

Beautiful gowns & helpful staff

Suzanne’s Bridals is absolutely wonderful to work with! The staff were very helpful when I was dress shopping and made the process so smooth. They had tons of options to choose from. Heidi also altered my dress and she did such a wonderful job with it. I would highly recommend Suzanne’s Bridals to anyone look for a wedding dress or formal wear!

Everyone at Suzanne's was amazing! Very nice ladies who went above and beyond to help out our entire wedding party. We used them for not only my wedding gown, but also the bridesmaids dresses and the groomsmens tuxes. Thank you so much for everything!

I almost overlooked Suzanne's until a friend recommended I give it a shot. Suzanne's was the first of three bridal salons I was scheduled to go to, and I found THE dress right away. I only even kept the rest of my appointments for the day to not disappoint my friends who were planning on meeting us. I went back to buy the dress the next morning.

What really seals the deal with Suzanne's is the excellent job they do with alterations. I loved my dress when I originally tried it on, but when I saw it fully fitted to me, I never wanted to take it off. I have never felt so confident and secure in a strapless dress. On my wedding day I never once had to adjust myself.

The dress I ended up with, as well as the other ones I tried on, were very reasonably priced cheaper than the higher end bridal boutiques, but more than a lot of what you would find at David's Bridal. The prices of alterations are on par with a place like David's Bridal. However, I do feel like the quality of services makes it completely worthwhile, and so does supporting a small business.

The woman I worked with throughout the whole process was Heidi, and I can't thank her enough!

I first found out about Suzanne's at a Bridal Faire and made an appointment to see if I could find "The dress". My mom was in town and we had been to a couple of different stores before we had our appointment at Suzanne's. Upon arriving at our appointment, Heidi put us both totally at ease. She helped me try on multiple styles to see what suited me best. When I wasn't over the moon about any of the dresses she mentioned she had one or two that had just come in so they weren't priced yet. She was kind enough to let me try them on and BAM! We found the dress!!! Not only did I get my dress there, but we were able to find Bridesmaid dresses and Tuxedos for the men. Every dress there is stunning and the ladies there were super helpful throughout the entire process. They gave a "heads-up" when it was time for my first fitting so that I would be freaked out when I saw my dress taken apart for alterations. Everyone that works there always has a smile on their face when you walk in and will make you feel like they've known you for years.

Their staff is super friendly and helpful without being pushy. I love that Suzanne's carries many dresses in plus sizes - it just isn't the same to have to squeeze into a "sample size 12" dress to try to "get a feel for it" when you really need a size 22. Their dresses are also super affordable! I was able to stay way under my budget and still found a dress that I am absolutely in love with! I love supporting small businesses and am so glad that I purchased my dress from Suzanne's instead of one of the major chain stores.

Suzanne's altered my wedding dress as well as my maid of honors dress. They worked all the way up until the day before the wedding to make any adjustments we needed. I was losing weight during the process and our seamstress made all necessary adjustments to make sure I was comfortable in the dress and that it fit perfectly. She also inserted a color coated guide for the bussel which made it easier to do. They also designed me two beautiful garters from the leftover dress material that I had. They were beautiful and custom made. My mom also purchased her dress for my wedding here and had her alterations done. She tried on several dresses and they worked with her to make adjustments on the dress she liked to make it the perfect dress she wanted. The prices here are also 10x cheaper then David's Bridal for example. They were so nice and really worked with us so I would recommend them to any bride!

I purchased my wedding dress at Suzanne's and could not be happier with the entire experience! They helped me find a dress to fit my taste and my budget. They were helpful, responsive and flexible; I enjoyed visiting Suzanne's for dress shopping and fittings. Danita did an incredible job on my dress alterations! The dress fit me perfectly and the bustle was gorgeous!! I would highly recommend Suzanne's. They never tried to upsell me and I thought the prices were extremely reasonable.

I want to you to say that I am so thankful for your help when I came to your store dress shopping in January. We popped in unexpected and you guys took us right in! After a quick consultation, how perfectly you nailed a dress that I loved! Even with challenges around the color, you took it to run down fabric swatches, contact the designer, talk about going above and beyond! Everyone at the shop was great, we had a blast too! The staff at Suzanne's Bridal are courteous and responsive to customer needs. When shopping for a gown, I received the full attention of the staff and had a wonderful experience. I had all of my fittings and alterations completed by the seamstress at Suzanne's, who seemed very knowledgable and willing to work with my needs.

I worked with Jeannie from Suzanne's and she was absolutely fantastic. I purchased my gown(s) from her, all of our groomsmen rented their suits here and 1 bridesmaid had an alteration done. We have nothing but good things to say about Suzanne's & their seamstress! This is a high quality, low pressure shop where you can take your time to look around and feel comfortable about your purchase. You won't be pressured into buying a gown that you don't love! We had a great experience here & I highly recommend to anyone!

We used Suzannes's Bridals for the bridesmaids dresses, the men's tuxes, and my gown alterations. Everything was fantastic. The staff is great to work with, and even help guide us out of making a big mistake. Our bridesmaids gowns were brown, and my dress was a champagne gold, and my husband thought he wanted a black pinstripe tux. Jeanne helped us realize that a black tux would not work with our color scheme. She had several samples of the black tux and some others, and her recommendation of a brown tux was what we wound up choosing. It looked GREAT on the wedding day. They altered my gown and put in the bustle, and it fit beautifully. Our bridal party looked great, from the bridesmaids, to the groomsmen to us. Make no mistakes about it, Suzanne's is THE place to go!

Suzanne's was a very nice bridal boutique, with a small town atmosphere but still offering all the latest fashions. The staff is very courteous, professional and works hard to please. I highly recommend a visit to Suzanne's before you make those purchases.

Suzanne's staff was amazing!! I went to several other places and felt very pressured to buy every dress I tried on....Suzanne's treated me totally different and didn't pressure me at all to make a sale. They allowed me to try on as many dresses as I liked and gently guided me to try on dresses I wouldn't initially go for. They were very flexible in making appointments and their gowns are high quality and reasonably priced. The seamstress was great and modified my dress perfectly! I highly recommend Suzanne's!

Eveyone at Suzanne's is great to work with. I found my dream dress at Suzanne's as well as all of my bridesmaids dresses and all of the tux's. I cannot say enough about them. They did everything to make all of our day's attire fit so well and look so good. All of the tux's fit the guys so well! All of them kept commenting all day on how well the tux fit and how comfortable it was. They all kept their jackets on the entire day so they must have been very comfortable. When getting measured for the tux's Suzanne's takes extra time to make sure they are the right fit. All of the steps in my dress selection were great also! My dress fit great and looked absolutely gorgeous! If you use Suzanne's for your wedding you will get great service and a great price!!

I recently got married and found my wedding dress and the attire for everyone in the wedding at Suzanne's. Everything was absolutely gorgeous and the staff was wonderful! Everyone was very helpful and friendly. One of my bridesmaids was even able to get last minute alterations to her dress on the morning of the wedding. They have a wonderful selection to choose from and the staff is ready and willing to help with any problems. I would definitely recommend Suzanne's Bridal to anyone in the area who is getting married!

With their help, I had my wedding dress picked out 2 years before my wedding, and they made sure it didn't get discontinued before I ordered it. The owner agreed to call me if she saw it was being discontinued. They worked with all of my out of town attendants and the dresses and tuxes were amazing! My gown was listed on the designer's website for $100 more than we paid. They are so helpful with any questions about your wedding that you may have. The owner even called us a month after the wedding to see how we were doing and to say that she missed us!!

Suzanne's Bridal in Gettysburg was wonderful! I got a unique dress instead of a mass-produces gown like from David's. The people that work there are wonderful. Each time I went for a fitting I was treated very well. We also got all of our tuxes there and I was pretty bridezilla about them, changing my mind, etc. They were wonderful through it all. Also, Thursday night before my Saturday wedding, we found out my Jr. Bridesmaid's dress was way too long for her. (She lives out of town.) I called Suzanne's and they told us to bring it in the following morning and they had it hemmed by that afternoon! Excellent business!

Very Skilled and Kind

Heidi altered two bridesmaids dresses for me in the past, and did excellent work while also being flexible with my schedule. For one, I was out of town and couldn't try on the dress again until the day before the wedding, and she still managed to fit in last minute tweaks for me. Knowing her quality of work, I brought my wedding dress to her when it was time for my wedding. Her quality of work is great (I'm short so it needed a lot of hemming, and I had lost weight since buying the dress so the waist and bust needed altering). The dress fit me perfectly on the wedding day, and again she was considerate of my scheduling needs when setting appointment times. My dress had a lot of lace/layers/beading detail, and she did an excellent job altering it.

This was my first dress shopping experience and it was wonderful. I was overwhelmed, newly engaged and I didn't have an appointment. Thankfully they made time for me anyway and they had a great selection of dresses. I would highly recommend starting with them to find your dream dress.

The only thing I was unhappy about was that they did the wrong alterations and had to fix it but then tried to charge me for the fix when it was their mistake to begin with. Other then that they are a wonderful group of people to deal with.

Suzanne's had beautiful dresses and I found my perfect one. Sometimes I would have liked them to be a little more attentive as they just kinda let you try things on and leave the room, when I think extra opinions or selecting some dresses would have helped, but at other times I like the hands off approach as other botiques can be pushy. The alterations process was a little longer than hoped but to be fair my dress had a lot of beading and lace work. Everything in the end turned out beautifully and fit well, I did break my bustle toward the end of the night as I accidently stepped on a longer part.

I got all of my wedding attire from Suzanne's. Overall i was happy with everything. My dress was very reasonable. The only problem we had was with the bridesmaid's dresses not coming in the fabric i wanted but we resolved the issue quickly by choosing another design. Alterations were good and very reasonable.

I had a custom-made wedding gown, which was not ordered from this vendor. However, the crinolines for myself and the bridesmaids were all ordered from here. I didn't have much interaction with the store, other than for the ordering process. They are reputable and did a good job. I was a little disappointed in that the crinoline I tried on in the shop did not appear to be the one that was ordered. The shop was not very helpful on that front when they couldn't figure out the difference. However, they did a decent job and were very accountable and responsive.

I will not return to this place of business for any formal wear needs. I bought a beautiful gown from Suzanne's Bridal with the understanding that specific alterations could be done. When asked how much the alterations would cost I was quoted a price that seemed very reasonable. When arriving for my first alteration appointment the seamstress was surprised at the alterations I requested. She knew nothing about it. The seamstress told me a much higher price for alterations. When returning for another alteration appointment I was left with my family members standing in my dress wondering where the seamstress went, which was very awkward for me and my family looking at each other waiting. I was pinned for a hem and when trying on the dress a week before my wedding the hem was too short. You could see my feet when I walked in my completely flat shoes. I was told the dress would be longer when it was steamed. This did not happen. I paid almost $200.00 for alterations I was not satisfied with no offer what so ever to make me a satisfied customer. My bridesmaids dresses were wrinkled upon arrival through the mail, with no offer what so ever to steam them unless you got them altered at the bridal shop. Two of my girls did not require alterations and had to find a way to steam their own dresses. I will definitely not be returning to this store for any reason.

The customer service is basically non existent. From the first time I tried on my wedding dress my seamstress was defensive and didn't want to take personal responsibility... even just when asked simple questions. I purposely told the shop the wrong date for my wedding(I told them a date 3 weeks before) to make sure it was done on time, and PRAISE GOD I did. I ended up getting the dress 2 weeks before(yes, you are reading that correctly,1 week later than the date they thought was my real date!). The dress didn't fit right and wasn't flattering on me, but my family and I had already spent so much money on it I just sucked it up and wore it for my wedding day. There is no reason the dress should have fit me that way after 5+ fittings. There is so much more I could share, but the moral of the story is, I will never be back and I won't let any of my close friends or family have to experience this either. Completely disappointed.

I can't tell you how disappointed I am in Suzanne's Bridal. After over a month of fittings (at least 5), and over $400 in alterations, it's a terrible thing to cry the morning of your wedding because of an unbelievably poorly fitted dress. Sure, you can purchase a dress off the rack at a good price, but if you need ANY fitting, go elsewhere! Just for reference...size 12. NOT pregnant!

The seamstress was rude and did not want to fix any mistakes. The manager was rude and blamed their mistakes on the customer. I would not reccomend this business to my family or friends. The dresses weren't fixed right from the beginning.
