Susquehanna Club Reviews

The Susquehanna Club has to be the most accommodating, responsive, and understanding venue in the Central PA area. I am a COVID bride – I booked my original April 2020 wedding date with the Susquehanna Club to get a discount for booking during “off season.” I moved my wedding three times, ending up in October 2021, and the Susquehanna Club kept my discount pricing even though I moved my wedding to one of the most popular wedding dates of the year.

I worked with Sharen most of the time during the coordination, and she was amazing. I felt so annoying when I typed my multi-paragraph emails asking questions about little details leading up to the big day, but she always answered me promptly and in a way that didn’t make me feel like I was putting her out. You don’t understand how much you need to coordinate with a wedding venue until you are planning a wedding – it’s A LOT. A ton of questions ranging from pricing inquiries all the way down to asking for table dimensions so you can plan your décor. Sharen and her team were just the best. I really felt like an important customer all through coordination and during the big day.

We were able to decorate the entire venue the day before, which took a lot off of our day-of plate (this depends on what rooms are booked, but it worked out for me). We brought all of the decorations, but the Susquehanna Club supplied us with ladders, water pitchers for my centerpieces, easels, etc. They even have lights and tulle already in place that you can use at no extra charge, but you also have the freedom to make it your own. I won’t waste time posting about pricing because you should really contact the venue for that directly, but there was no other venue in the area that could accommodate my guest list with an open bar on my budget.

The food was great. It’s not the stuffy, low quality food you get at a wedding. It’s actually good, and they have a bunch of fun apps you can add on during happy hour (fries, mozz sticks, egg rolls, etc.). My guests raved about our selection.

Please consider the Susquehanna Club for your next event, and don’t be put off that it is on an army base. If you set up the day before, you and the people helping you set up might need to send ID ahead of time, but your guests are fine to drive right through the gate during the rehearsal and the actual ceremony. It was not an issue at all, none of my wedding guests even knew it was on an army base until I mentioned something.

This wedding venue is pretty much all-inclusive. The food, open bar, bartenders, servers, EVERYTHING was included in our pricing, although we did add extra apps during happy hour and chair covers. There’s no BS napkin or microphone charge that you will see at other venues. If you want a venue that makes you feel like your big day is as important to them as it is to you, reach out to the Susquehanna Club. I wish I could give more than five stars.

The Susquehanna Club was amazing! They made sure everything was perfect for our day, from the little thing like the right napkins to the big things like prepping our food. They didnt miss a beat. Sharen was there to help every step of the way and always made sure to be there when we needed her. I would absolutely recommend the Susquehanna Club for a wedding venue!

This was the most perfect wedding venue. The manager and workers were so accommodating and helped in any way possible to make our day the best! The food was delicious. The indoor and outdoor venues are beautiful. There is a lovely view. There is not one thing I would change about this venue. I loved it and wouldn't change the way our wedding went one bit!

The Susquehanna Club was absolutely perfect! The staff was great every time we interacted with them, but especially the day of. They were willing to do just about any special request we could have thought of, including moving our ceremony inside the morning of due to the weather.

I am so happy that I picked the Susquehanna Club for my wedding. I was hesitant at first because I was afraid of hearing the other party because they book both rooms at the same time but we couldn't hear them at all. The food was excellent and all of my guests complimented it. They don't provide a tasting but you don't even have to worry about that because the food is so good. I felt like I was always emailing Sharen but she always answered all of my questions with no problems. We planned on having our ceremony outside but it decided to storm a half hour before the ceremony and she did a great job of making sure that it was all coordinated and that I didn't have to worry about anything. Overall I had a great experience and would use them again for another party!

Our daughter just got married this past weekend, New Year's Eve, at the Susquehanna Club. We thought we would provide a review while it was fresh on our minds. The reception and ceremony was PERFECT. The club provided a beautiful room for the bride and her attendants to change in and relax before the ceremony. The room had a window seat overlooking the river. In addition to the bride, there were six in the bride’s party along with the mother of the bride and groom. The room was spacious and not cramped. The guests raved about the food, bar, and Club. We had the ceremony adjacent the ballroom, in a setting overlooking the Susquehanna River. After the ceremony, the guests started the cocktail hour while pictures were taken at the ceremony location. A mini reception area was provided for the wedding party, complete with drinks and food until entrance into the main ballroom. The staff even took drink orders for the wedding party during this time and were extremely attentive! Many times we heard that this was the best wedding food they ever tasted. The dinner service was spot on and the service was impeccable. There was an actual bar serving drinks and many hung out at the bar through the evening. The bar staff kept up with the guests requests. Everyone was very professional. We can't say enough good things about Sharen and the staff at the the club. We were able to get into the club the day before to set up. The staff was available for last minute questions and support. Sharen also recommended the wedding officiator, Pastor Dave Diraddo, who provided what many said was the best service they ever attended. As the parents of the bride, we couldn't be happier with choosing the Susquehanna Club for our daughter’s ceremony and reception site. The Susquehanna Club truly made our wedding night magical. My husband and I visited quite a few venues, and fell in love with this site the second we walked in. Sharen and Lisa were our two main contacts, and I couldn't have been more pleased with them. Sharen was so accomodating and understanding from the moment we sat down with her. Their prices are unbelievably reasonable and they are able to fit your budget. Like any nervous bride, I had a million questions and comments the two weeks leading up to the wedding. Sharen was always so pleasant and answered every question with a smile and happiness. We were able to decorate the reception room the night of the rehearsal which took a HUGE load of stress off of my shoulders. Lisa made sure that all of my little requests were completed in a timely manner that day before guests started arriving, and knew how to calm my nerves before I even expressed them. My guests RAVED about the delicious food and again, the club was truly amazing with having one meal to accomodate to one of our guests who had a food allergy. We chose to do a buffet, but the workers served my husband and I, my elderly grandmother, and our wedding party and their guests. They club itself is absolutely stunning and doesn't need much decorating, which I loved. I would go back in a heartbeat and relive the night if it meant having it there again!

We cannot say enough good things about the Susquehanna Club. Our reception was absolutely beautiful (the view and the room are gorgeous) and I will most certainly have any anniversary milestone parties there (I loved it that much and wish we could go back and relive it!). Sharen is absolutely amazing to work with and was so accommodating as things did change for us (it seemed by the second as we got closer to our wedding day). This was particularly helpful since we live in FL and were planning a wedding in Harrisburg. She walked through every detail with us from the food, to the table settings, napkin & chair cover colors, etc...she was just great. The staff also turned on all our electric candles for our centerpieces so I didn't have to worry about that at all. Also, she allowed us to come in on Friday to set up which was soooooooooo helpful. I don't know how we would've had time on Saturday morning. The food is absolutely amazing...we got so many compliments! We did a buffet and were glad we did. The servers were nice enough to serve the bridal party which was really great...and while my husband and I actually did get to eat, they made us some to-go meals to go home with us anyway! And the hour of unlimited hors d'oeuvres was fabulous...and the room for the bridal party during the cocktail hour is so nice! We also had an open bar and that was well worth the few extra dollars per person---would highly recommend it if you're considering an alcohol package. Our server (the one who took care of my husband and I) always made sure we had drinks and was there whenever we needed her. Again, I can't say enough great things about the Susquehanna Club. Our reception was perfect in every way!

Sharen & Lisa were absolutely wonderful to work with. We were not able to set up our venue ourselves, but they did a great job doing it for us. The food is absolutely wonderful and everyone had a wonderful time.

We looked at more than a dozen wedding venues, but were so happy that that we chose the Susquehanna Club for our daughter's wedding ceremony and reception. The food and service were fantastic. Everyone raved about the prime rib! The rooms were set up beautifully. We added our own white canopy to the ceremony room over a little white table, rented their white chairs, and had the florist tie a small bouquet to the end chair on every other row. The room looked stunning!! And with the view of the river in the ceremony room, the beams and nice big dance floor in the reception hall, and the open bar, our guests loved this wedding venue. We got lots of compliments, and we had folks from 20 different states that made the journey to celebrate with us. We had lots of room at the venue and made use of both indoor and outdoor space with family photos taken in the garden and some games for children outdoors. It was just perfect, AND we were still able to stay on budget. Many, many thanks to Sharon and staff for all your help and enthusiasm!!

The venue is gorgeous and easily accommodated all of our guests. Sharen is very thorough and organized. It was a pleasure to work with her throughout our planning process.

The Susquehanna Club was the perfect venue for my Wedding Reception! Sharen was absolutely wonderful to work with; cannot say enough good things about her! She is so accommodating, coordinated with all my vendors, she is also very organized, and goes above and beyond. We were in the Main Ballroom and it was set up beautifully, food was good, and my guests kept saying what a fun time they had (about 170-180 guests attended). Everything went smoothly because of Sharen and her staff. Thank You so much!!

We LOVED working with Sharen at the Susquehanna Club for our wedding. She is very friendly, easy going and was very helpful throughout the whole wedding process. She was extremely flexible and made arrangements for everything we requested. The cost of the venue and food was VERY reasonable and a great value!! We got a lot of compliments on the food, especially the mini chicken cordon bleu, top round of beef and stuffed chicken. And they sent ALL the extra food home with us! Jessica also helped us and the bridal party on the day of the wedding and helped everything go so smoothly. We are so happy we chose to have our wedding at the Susquehanna Club. We highly recommend the Susquehanna Club for any special event.

Beautiful location. Very flexible staff. Sharen, the contractor, is very nice and willing to do anything to make things work out the way we wanted it to be. Great rooms, bar and outside area, great price!

We had our wedding at the Susquehanna Club in September 2014 and we couldn't have been happier. We had our ceremony in the room overlooking the river and the reception in the ballroom next to it. Sharen and all of the staff at the facility were wonderful with all of our requests when we were setting up the night before our wedding and during our wedding. The food was really good as well!

Sharon from the Susquehanna Club is amazing! Many people have not heard of this place! I am so thrilled that my husband and I came across it! We have went to 3 or 4 other places looking to have our reception. I was about to give up! Then i came across the Susquehanna Club. I set up a visit and boom we were both sold! I had so many guest compliment on the reception site! The food was amazing and everything looked amazing! The staff that was working the day of my wedding did an amazing job. They catered to myself and my bridal party! If you are having a hard time choosing a reception/or marriage spot please check out the Susquehanna Club!!!!

We chose the Susquehanna Club for our reception venue. All I can say is wow! The place is not only beautiful but Sharen is such a pleasure to work with. I have to second everything that Christen mentions in her review. My now husband & I had a long engagement, just over 2 years, & we booked the place not long after we got engaged so I found myself e-mailing Sharen often over the 2 years & she was always quick to reply & I never felt as though I was bugging her. Don't worry about not having a taste test of the food - like everyone else noted, it's fantastic & you won't be disappointed! You can't beat the price either...I think anywhere else, we would've paid double for everything that's included in the Susquehanna Club's packages. I would certainly recommend the Susquehanna Club to anyone looking for a venue, you can't beat it!!

The Susquehanna Club is an amazing secret when it comes wedding venues in the Central PA area. The pictures do not do it justice, either. It has an incredible vintage vibe and is beautifully decorated on the inside. Sharen is very easy going and accommodating. She is probably the most pleasant event planner I've ever met and she made every aspect of my reception amazing. She always answers emails and is never annoyed with your questions or concerns. Also, don't worry that you can't taste the food before the event...it's delicious and you will love it! The affordability of the venue allowed us to throw an amazing, grand reception on a beer budget. I would recommend this venue over and over again.

We had both our ceremony and reception at the Susquehanna Club. After our first visit, we fell in love. Sharen, the club manager, is absolutely fantastic to work with! She lets you decorate however you want and lets you have a lot of say in your day. She also let us visit the club multiple times and she was always quick to respond through email—and I emailed her a lot! The photos online don’t do the place justice—definitely make a trip to see it and you will probably fall in love with it like we did. The Susquehanna Club’s staff is very friendly and accommodating. We chose the buffet option, and our server assured us not to worry about not getting enough food and time to eat—they packaged us each a meal to take home at the end of the night, complete with utensils, a mini bottle of champagne and plastic champagne glasses! We were a little nervous about the fact that there was no tastings available before choosing your menu—trust me, do NOT worry about this—the food is fantastic!! We got lots of compliments about it! There are many options/levels to choose from, so you can be as basic or as elaborate as you want. And for everything that is included, the price cannot be beat! We were able to do a cocktail hour, champagne toast, buffet dinner AND 5 hours or wine and beer for the price that most places charge for just their basic dinner. And we got compliments on the wine and beer selection—many guests said that they had never seen so many options at a wedding before! And it was all INCLUDED in our package price! Definitely check out the Susquehanna Club and talk to Sharen—we promise you won’t regret it!

Sharen Yule and the Staff at the Susquehanna Club are absolutely amazing! Once I saw pictures of the venue, I fell in love- we got married at Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church down the road from the Susquehanna Club so its location was perfect! Just a short drive for all of our guests. To start- there is plenty of parking and even though 2 weddings can be going on at once- DJ's and sound does not travel between the two rooms which is awesome- we had no issues hearing our neighbors it was perfect. We were in the riverside ballroom- which overlooks the susquehanna river. The room was perfect for 100 guests that we had and it left plenty of room for moving around and dancing. The food was fantastic and the staff that served the food was great- they all were really friendly and kept coming up to make sure I had a drink or anything I needed at any point in the evening. They gave us the left overs from the meals for a couple guest who didn't make it- which was great because it wasn't wasted money on our part. Those little touches were above and beyond and made my husband and I feel really special. Not many places do those small things for you and from friends being married- I know for sure not many places always do that so I was blown away by their service!

This venue had everything we were looking for - large open space, nice large dance floor, beautiful view of the Susquehanna River, friendly staff, great food - all for a fantastic price. Sharen was amazing in answering all of our questions and taking care of all of our needs. Sharen also allowed us to setup the day before the event - which was a huge relief. We could not have asked for a better place or staff to work with!

We had our reception at the Susquehanna Club. Sharen is great to work with! She was very helpful in the planning process and was willing to do anything she could to help! She answered lots of emails and allowed us to visit a few times so we could see the room.
The price is unbeatable for all that they offer!! The food is AMAZING! I have had several guests tell me they were pleasantly surprised with our food...they said it was so much better than typical "wedding food". They offer alot of choices for your meal, as well as sit down or buffet style.
The staff was amazing. They were right there when we needed anything the night of the reception. They also did a wonderful job serving us while we were waiting to enter the reception.

I couldn't have asked for a better place to have our wedding reception! Sharen at the Club was extremely helpful in planning my event. I lived out of state while planning and she gave me the reassurance that everything would be taken care of and it was - even beyond my expectations! The venue was beautiful, the food was fantastic and the service was second to none. The prices are the most reasonable around and the value of what you get for your money is excellent. I'd absolutely recommend the Susquehanna Club to anyone looking for a GREAT venue for their wedding reception!

Sharon was fantastic to work with, she loved all of our ideas and was opened to anything we wanted to use. The service was amazing, and our guest loved everything about it! Oh and it was cheap and affordable

Sharen and the staff of the Susquehanna Club were fantastic!! We got married when New Cumberland, PA was flooding and Sharen called me to let me know how to get onto the depot AND printed all new directions for my guests so I did not have to the night before my wedding!!

The site is gorgeous... right on the Susquehanna river. We had fantastic views from the riverside ballroom. Everyone was impressed with the atmosphere and the food was incredible!! We also found that the pricing (especially with alcohol) was MUCH more reasonable than any other location in the area.

We were so pleased with the hospitality, service, and food that we would absolutely recommend this site to anyone looking to have a great wedding!!

My husband and I are so glad to have found the Susquehanna Club for our wedding! We used the Riverside Ballroom for our ceremony and reception. The room has a wall of windows that overlooks the Susquehanna River which was the backdrop for our ceremony. It was absolutely beautiful! The venue was very clean and they provided excellent catering. They were very friendly and welcoming and were willing to accommodate our needs and helped to finalize details. There was a prep room downstairs for us for before the ceremony, and they set everything up for the reception for us. We couldn't have been more pleased with our decision to have our wedding at the Susquehanna Club!

Sharen from the Susquehanna Club was very accommodating with every idea I had. She and her staff decorated the whole room for us and it looked gorgeous. Jessica was our server the night of the wedding and she was absolutely amazing. She was very understanding and easy to talk to when I had questions or concerns. She made the whole night run very smoothly.

The food was delicious. I was not happy about not having a taste testing beforehand but the food was still very very good.

One thing I was not happy about was, I wanted the napkins folded a certain way so instead of her and her staff folding them, I had to fold 100 napkins the day before when I was under the impression that she would be doing all of that for me.
