Delicious cake

Susie was so much fun to work with. She created a delicious cake. I’ve never seen so many people eat cake at a wedding! And it was absolutely beautiful. Susie worked with my husband’s dairy allergy to ensure all the ingredients would be safe for him. I’ll be using her for all my local cake needs.

Tasting and Cake Design

The cake tasting was amazing! We tried so many unique and delicious flavors, we really struggled to pick one for our cake. We even had some leftovers to take home! I can't wait to enjoy my wedding cake!

Outstanding Service and Cake

My wife and I both loved the cake tasting process with Susie's husband. He is very kind and humorous. The cake came exactly as we ordered it and on time. No hiccups with the process and the cake got excellent reviews from our guests! Thumbs up to Susie and her cake business!

Cake Tasting For Wedding

This place has been in business for years and do they take pride in what they do. They can design just about anything you want and to top it off, she makes vegan cakes too. I love this place.

Outstanding Cake!

Susie’s Scrumptious provided our wedding cake through our wedding package at the Deerfield Doubletree. It was absolutely the best cake I’ve had in quite sometime! We highly recommend the vanilla rum cake - it was nice and moist, and the icing is incredible. We’re planning to have Susie make us a small cake on our anniversary as we can’t bear to freeze such a delicious cake!!

Susie's cakes are so good. I didn't use one of the cake vendors from the hotel because I knew who made the best tasting and looking cakes in South Florida. When the catering manager saw how amazing the cake looked and tasted he added her to the top of the list. If your smart and want a great tasting cake, that your guest will devour and take pictures of and post, the only choice is Susie's. She samples her cakes on Saturdays, so make sure you try it and order your cake from her for your wedding or any special occasion.

Susie Scrumptious did an amazing job on our wedding cake and made the entire experience enjoyable. She was recommended to us by our venue and the moment we walked trough the door of her shop we were greeted and escorted to the cake testing area. I had no idea what to expect but we were given 6-8 slices of cake and allowed to take them home after (so much for that pre wedding diet!). We then were able to meet with her, look through a portfolio of cakes, choose the one we wanted, and they delivered it the day of the wedding! Awesome experience and to top it all off - the cake was beyond delicious!

We choose Susie to do our wedding cake as she was a vendor that our venue recommended. We provided her with a photo of the design we wanted and she executed it perfectly. The cake tasted great, it was not dry at all and tasted just like it did at the tasting months ago. Most wedding cakes I have had at weddings are not great but Susie really delivered on taste and we were very happy.

We have been working with Susie since I was a child. From my christening cake to my wedding cake. She blew our minds with our wedding cake. I could not imagine going to anyone else other than Susie Scrumptious for special occasion cakes!

Susie made us the most delicious and beautiful cake exactly as I had dreamed. Our venue packaged included our wedding cake and recommended we go to Susie first for cake tasting as they were the best. We loved tasting all her cakes and had the best time ever doing so. Susie and her husband were really great people and gave us lots of extra cake to take home. We ended up upgrading to a better quality sponge with a more complex design than our venue package offered and it was very reasonably priced. I gave Susie a photo of the cake I wanted exactly and on the day it was EXACTLY the same as the photo, if not more beautiful. The cake was fresh and moist and delicious. I would definitely use them again for other events in the future! We decided to get the vanilla three tier cake with white chocolate truffle filling and fresh strawberries. I don't usually like fondant, but after trying theirs which is fresh and made by them daily, I was blown away and we decided on that. I will be back for our future events and birthdays etc. I loved our cake so much and we even saved the top tier and froze it for our anniversary. Thank you again, Susie! :)

WOW!! First it started off with the tasting where my hubby and I tried like 10 different cakes (they serve huge slices too!!) and of all of them, we picked one that we never thought we would. Coconut! We don't even like coconut or so we thought. Then the next thing was we wanted a very specific, customized cake, just like the one we presented in the picture to them. They gave us a great price and guaranteed that exact cake. When I tell you they delivered, they DELIVERED BEYOND MY DREAMS! It was exactly like the picture we gave them!!!! From the design, to the size, to the colors, to the very small details, it was PERFECT!! Everyone loved the way it looked and of course tasted. We are dying for our 1 yr anniversary to eat it again!

The cake was exactly what we asked for and tasted great. They also made our groom's cake, which was equally amazing. We love their coconut cake and have now ordered it on two different occasions for birthdays, etc.

DELICIOUS AND BEAUTIFUL! These are the two words which described the magnificent wedding cake Susie made for my daughter's wedding. The entire experience starting at the wonderful "cake tasting" to the serving of the cake at our wedding was PERFECT. To begin with, the selection of cake flavors and fillings are incomparable. The cake was so delicious that we decided to eliminate the dessert offered by our caterer as part of the package and served wedding cake only. Instead of their dessert, we allocated that money to an additional station for our cocktail hour. This wedding cake was TOO YUMMY to serve with any other dessert! Although Susie has many design options, my daughter had a specific cake design that she had seen in a photo. I sent this to Susie and she was able to execute this design EXACTLY AS SHOWN. It was the same down to the petals on the intricate flowers. We chose not to use fondant (although Susie's fondant is exceptionally good) and she was able to decorate with buttercream that was equally beautiful and delicious. Often, after a four course meal, guests are too full for cake - - - - but at our wedding, almost everyone had to eat it because it was soooo good! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Susie for your wedding or any other special occasion cake. Susie is a professional and you will have the perfect ending to your wedding if you have one of her fabulous and delicious cakes. Susie and her daughter are the BEST! We loved the coconut cake but every flavor is luscious, decadent, and mouth-watering!

Our wedding cake was stunning, and more importantly… beyond delicious! They do cake tastings every Saturday where you can try about 15 flavors, and they serve you ENORMOUS portions with plenty to bring home. We sat down with Susie to look through pictures of designs and our cake turned out better then I could have imagined. We had a lot of vendors disappoint us, but this was not one of them. Highly recommend… you can't go wrong! Thanks Susie!

Susie was amazing!!! She completely recreated my vision for my cake. I was blown away when I walked into my reception and saw the cake. As for the cake, it was DELICIOUS!!! We had guests asking for second pieces and other than the top layer to take home there was no cake left at the end of the night!!! My husband was disappointed about this because he wanted more!! Susie is a fabulous baker and I will definitely use her in the future for other events!!!

Two words: Coconut cake! Our coordinator saved the top of the cake for us to freeze, but we ate the whole thing within the five days after the wedding! Susie knows her cakes, and the tasting is lots of fun!

Susie's cakes are one of a kind! No chocolate or vanilla here! Our wedding cake was two different flavors, Decadence and Coconut! Decadence speaks for itself as it is the most decadent cake you will ever eat. And people who hate coconut loved our coconut cake! Susie has an awesome cake tasting on Saturdays where her husband serves up 15 different cakes and entertains you for a few hours. Then you sit down with her tell and show her exactly what you want. And then your cake shows up on your wedding day. She's an awesome vendor and we will never buy a cake from anywhere else. Thanks Susie!

As soon as we entered Susie's, we felt at home. Her husband is the one who does the cake tastings on Saturdays, and he is so much fun to talk to and makes the experience very enjoyable, plus their many, many flavors of cake are the best around! I have never had cake this good in my life, and they are willing to make anything you want, just bring in a picture. The cake tasting is free and you go home with tons of to go boxes with cake for later. Our cake was 3 tiers, each one a different flavor. I highly recommend the key lime cake with raspberry filling, yumm!!! Perfect for my wedding!

LOVED LOVED LOVED! Our wedding cake turned out absolutely beautiful AND it was deeeeeelicious! All our guests were so impressed, we couldn't be happier with what Susie and her daughter did for us. Worth every penny for the quality and taste, I don't think we could've found any better. Susie treated us like family, not just clients. We went to one of the FREE cake tastings she has every Saturday and tasted almost every flavor she makes, after the tasting she took the time to sit down and ask us what we wanted, drew it out for us and gave us ideas, which is exactly what we needed. We felt confident that our cake was going to be spectacular and it was!!! Thank you so much Susie!

Susie's made our cake for our wedding on April 6th 2013 at the Weston Hills Country Club. one word... WOW!! We had sampled her cake at a wedding show and the taste blew us away. Never tasted cake so good.

The sample display was awesome and we walked into our appointment and said we would like that one. After some great cake tasting we ordered it and had a great experience with her.

She is a wonderful and sweet lady with a great team. I highly recommend her. The cake was delivered on time and was great!!!

YUM YUM YUM. That's all I can say. They are the sweetest people and Susie sure knows how to bake. My guests ate it all! So good. Go for a Saturday tasting and see for yourself! She's an amazing designer, and so patient. I changed my mind several times and she didn't mind at all, made the most creative grooms cake! Love it!

I wanted a beachy wedding cake for my South Florida wedding. Susie Scrumptious delivered a completely gorgeous 3-tier cake with fondant icing and white chocolate seashells all over. We added a beachy bride and groom topper and some bright flowers and it was totally perfect. It took my breath away. My parents picked the coconut flavor cake. It was very tasty, moist, and kept the beachy theme going. (Although it was a little bit too sweet for my taste - I'm a dark chocolate lover and was more concerned about the appearance of the cake anyway). OH, and she delivered this amazing cake with only 2 weeks notice, since my parents decided to switch vendors at the last minute. She even met with me a few days before the wedding to make sure the look would be what I wanted.

Our cake from Susie Scrumptious Sweets was exactly what the name says, SCRUMPTIOUS!! We ordered an ivory 3 tier dotted pearl cake with cascading blue orchids and it was so beautiful!!! The cake not only looked beautiful but it was absolutely delicious!!! We ordered the key lime cake with fresh raspberries and coconut cake. Our guests told us that it was the best cake they had ever had at a wedding. I highly recommend Susie Scrumptious for any cake needs.

Susie is absolutely amazing. She worked with me to create a cake that was everything I wanted and dreamed of. The cakes they make are absolutely delicious. So many people complimented me not only on the appearance of the cake but how delicious and moist it was. She truly is an artist with cakes and she exceeded my expectations. I provided a picture of how I wanted the cake to look, and it was flawless! Looked exactly how we wanted it to. It also tasted amazing! We had vanilla cake with dulce de leche in the middle, all of our guests commented how amazing the cake was! I wish I lived closer to Susie's scrumptious sweets so I could use her for other special events!! We could've have been happier!! Amazing job Susie! Thank you!

Our cake was minimalistic yet elegant and thanks to Susie, the cake was delicious! We didn't even wait to freeze the top layer for our one year. We ate what was left after the honeymoon! They have tastings on saturday's with heaping portions so everyone can have an opinion. We had two different flavors, one was butter rum and the other was a champagne that was DELICIOUS! Even when the number of guests exceeded our initial estimate, they accommodated us without a fuss.

Susie and her husband Wilt are so friendly and we loved going to our tasting and having wilt there making jokes and making us feel like family. The cake was amazing and it was so delicious. We would highly reccomend Susie's scrumptious cakes to any bride. The cakes from susie's are to die for!!!

Suzy did a great job, our cake was scruptious and beautiful. We had an almond cake with amaretto chocoloate truffles and everyone loved it. Would be happy to recommend Suzy for any occasion!

We had Susie's make our wedding cakes and a groom's cake. The wedding cakes were one large cake on top and then 4 tiers of mini cakes on a stand in different flavors. The groom's cake looked like a Honda Element and it looked so amazing that my new husband didn't want to cut the cake...that was until he tasted it! Susie's cakes not only look amazing, but they taste even better! The flavors we chose were almond, decadence, coconut, carrot and chocolate chili. No one at our wedding could decide which flavor was the best one and I have to agree.

Is it wrong that I wanna get married again just to have another one of her cakes? LOL

Susie's is great. Not only is there a tasting every saturday afternoon, but they will work with you to make sure the cake you want is the cake you get, plus their cakes are amazingly good. All of my friends use Susie's for their weddings, bridal and baby showers, and birthdays. I have already ordered my first anniversary cake and I will not go another birthday without a cake from her.

As part of our wedding package the wedding cake was included. At the hotel they don't actually make the cakes you get to chose from two vedors. Susie's was one of the vedors. From the moment we walked into the bakery you feel at home and welcomed. Any given Saturday afternoon you can stop by and have a free sampling of all the delicious flavors there are to taste, and let me tell you they are all delicious. We went with a simple marble flavor for all the layers to be safe, and as I was going through the many pictures I brought and the many photo albums Susie said "why don't you tell me what your thinking" so as I described my perfect wedding cake she started to draw it without photos and then said, "Oh there is one like you are thinking in this album here, and one in this other album here." The cake was delicious and as I had gone through the planning process thought I wanted fondant because of the look but, the way Susie does her cakes she can make buttercream look just as perfect and it tastes good, so who needs the yucky taste of fondant?

Susie was very professional and easy to work with. I loved that we were able to sit at a cake bar and taste her yummy treats. We liked her so much, that she created our rehearsal dinner cake as well.

For my wedding cake, I went with Susie's Scrumptious Sweets in Sunrise. It ended up working out perfectly because she is the baker at The Westin Hotel where I had my reception. I am so pleased with the way my cake turned out. My husband and I didn't want a traditional wedding cake. We both had fallen in love with a Mad Hatter cake. We found a picture of it online, printed it out and took it to Susie. We asked her if she could do it and she said yes. Well let me tell you, when I walked into my reception room and saw my cake I had a smile on my face from ear to ear. It was perfect!! She had it looking EXACTLY the way the picture looked. Everyone was talking about the cake all night long. And of course it was delicious!! You can go on the weekends to her store in Sunrise and do a cake testing. They do it every weekend and you get to sample some of the best, most delicious cakes ever! Also, check out her website so you can see all of her work she has done in the past. She really is very talented and has made some amazing cakes. I am so glad I went with Susie's Scrumptious Sweets. I recommend them to everyone for any occasion!

Absolutely amazing cakes!! Flavors like no other cake I have ever experienced and cake out exactly as I was dreamed. I even had a grooms cake done in a shape of a Big Green Egg smoker for my now husband and was absolutely perfect. I even had a guest try to open it thinking it was real (drinking had not yet occurred haha).

The wedding cake was the one thing the groom cared most about. Since he is from Argentina, it had to be a Dolce de Leche cake with buttercreme frosting. I found a picture of a cake we loved, emailed it to her, sent her a sample of the color we wanted and she nailed it!!! It looked as good as the picture and smelled amazing. Made you almost want to skip dinner and go right to cutting the cake. Susie delivered the cake to the venue herself in ample time before the ceremony even started so the florist could decorate the table. When it came time to cut the cake ... Wow!!! The slice was beautiful and tasted AMAZING!! I would not hestitate to hire to Susie to do your cake. She came highly recommended to me.

the only reason why i'm not giving susie's a perfect 5.0 is because i had asked for white philanopsis orchids on my cake, and instead got neon pink orchids. i'm not even sure what happened, how this got mixed up, but i contacted susie directly afterwards, and she apologized and offered to refund the delivery charge, which i thought was nice.
that aside, the experience with them was great. the cake tasting was really fun, we got to try all the flavors we wanted, then we met with susie to finalize the details for the cake and delivery.
both her and her husband were very nice and professional, and their cakes are the best tasting wedding cakes in south Florida as far as i;m concerned. their fondant is home made, and completely delicious. their prices are very affordable.
Despite my mishap, i would definitely use susie's cakes again for upcoming events.

Susie's Scrumptious Sweets did a fabulous job on our wedding cake. It came out exactly how I pictured it and I absolutely loved it. Susie was extremely accomodating, helpful and patient with me, especially when I completely re-designed the cake for a second time. She and her family run a superb operation and I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting a gorgeous cake that tastes great!!!

Our wedding cake was absolutely beautiful, and more importantly... delicious!

They host an awesome cake tasting on Saturdays where Susie's husband lets you try numerous cake and filling flavors. There is no shortage in these samples... in addition to what you try on site, you will go home will HUGE slices of every flavor you want! After the tasting, we were sold. We had never tried cake so delicious before! We sat down with Susie and discussed designs. I had brought some photos that I shared with Susie. She understood my vision and delivered my dream wedding cake.

We planned to save the top tier of our cake to enjoy on our one year anniversary, but we couldn't resist... it was gone the very next weekend after our wedding!

Hands down, this is the best cake we have ever had! From here on out, Susie's Scrumptious Sweets will be our go-to place for cakes for future events.

Susie's cake tasting is like NO other!! It's a real big event, that is what sold us. All her flavors are DELISH and it was hard to choose. We choose white chocolate and strawberry filling. Yum yum yum! I would def recommend using Susie's her cakes are outstanding.

Cake tasting was never this much fun! The place is clean nd beautiful, with Susie's husband running a "Cake bar" every Saturday afternoon where you can try all their amazing flavors. Dates fill up fast, and Susie's work is well-known. You think it up, they can make it into a cake-very talented.

Our cake was AMAZING and we had numerous people say it was the best they'd ever had. But for a three-tiered cake for 100 people, we paid 750. And it was a fairly simple design. I don't know what cakes should cost, so perhaps this was reasonable. All I can say is that after tasting the cake, we knew we HAD to have ours from Susie's, no matter what.

The only reason they didn’t get an A+ is because her husband is a little rude and it took a while to get an actual bill from them when we changed the amount of people it had to feed. We were recommended Susie’s by a co-worker. They go there all the time for cakes and used them for their daughter’s wedding. They offer complimentary tastings every Saturday. Their “tasting” consists of Susie’s husband giving you a list of the cakes they offer and giving FULL slices of each one. They have all cakes baked and ready for you to try. They were telling other couples which ones were allowed if they were with certain venues. Since they don’t work with our venue, we were allowed to choose anything we wanted. We looked at the choices and chose 13 different cakes to try. They give you boxes to take all of the slices home with you. We ended up with a 4 tier square buttercream cake. The flavors were amazing. Dulche de leche, chocolate kahlua, almond and the top tier for us… chocolate chili. After your tasting you sit down with Susie and go over the cake options. They arrived on time to bring the cake to Gleneagles. They provided us with a box for our top tier as well. They tell you if you end up having to cut the top tier they will provide you a free one on your one year anniversary. We took ours home and cut into it with the family on Sunday. We can’t wait to get another one a year later, even if we have to pay. The cake was moist and delicious. We are still getting compliments on it. Yum!

The cake was good, a little on the dry side, everyone said they loved it. It was beautiful with my flowers decorated inbetween the layers. The cake was also included in my package at the reception.

Our wedding cake came out exactly as we envisioned and asked for. Very pleased. We picked "decadence" as our cake flavor and it was absolutely mouth watering! I also ordered the groom's cake and my husband was so surprised at how life like it looked (XBOX). Susie & her husband make you feel so welcome. I will definitely be going back and order more cakes!

Susie's was one of the approved vendors at my venue so I went to a cake tasting at there location. I love that they have a car bar set up so you can taste all the different flavors. We fell in love with the white chocolate and ordered it for our wedding. I orginally ordered one design, then called in to revise the design slightly. When the cake was delivered, they used the orginal design. It wasn't a huge issue but if you want something changed I would call a couple days before just to remind them to do it. Our guests raved about the quality and taste of the cake. It was a huge hit!

Susie's Scrumptious Sweets was one our 2 choices for our venue. We went with SSS because the cake was much better. We enjoyed the Saturday tastings that they offered. My only issue was that the initial cost we were given was different than the final one when we had 15 less people. Susie told us she didn't have a price written down, which she must have written on a different sheet but didn't put it on our order when we initially came in. No big deal, but it was annoying that we had to pay more. We also weren't told when the final payment was due and had to rush over in an hour so that we didn't get a basic flavor. Overall, the cake looked great, tasted great and was well received. My fiance wants to order cakes from them again even with the minor issues.

The cake tasting was a fun experience. Susie's quality and flavor surpassed all others. The only reason I didn't give all 5's was because our cake was included in our wedding package and I felt like I was inconveniecing Susie's by asking questions or requesting designs I was looking for. I was told the idea I had wouldn't work which I appreciated the honesty but there was no real option for the look of the cake. I had no idea what it would look like until the day of. The cake was amazing and beautiful so I had nothing to worry about after all.

Wedding cakes can be pricey, but these ones are so so good. Susie's has many delicious cakes and they can be made to look unique and beautiful. Different shapes , icing decorations and/ or flowers. Probably whatever you can imagine can be done. call and as when thier taste testing times are. my husband and i went and tried a bunch of cakes. all were lovely. go hungry so you wont get full before you finish tasting ;)

I was a little uncomfortable when I met with the staff. My mother-in-law actually thought they were rude. But I gae them my idea for the cake and they loved it, did not raise the price, and executed it perfectly. My cake was the most amazingly beautiful cake that I, or anyone at my wedding, ad ever seen! It also tasted INCREDIBLE. I was incredibly happy with the outcome!!

Her cakes are truly amazing. They taste great, they have the greatest tasting bar around, and they will do special requests in terms of flavors and designs, including baking a family recipe, like they did for us. Their coconut was to die for. However, they are a little lacking in customer service. We ordered our groom's cake, shower cake, wedding cake and all birthday cakes along the way. The cakes always tasted great (except the groom's cake was a little dry), but when it comes to design, you have to be very specific or you might get an interpretation of what they think you want. Thankfully our wedding cake came out just as ordered, that was not the case with the shower cake, which they did attempt to fix, but with a hint of attitude. My personal opinion is that in the customer service world, the customer is always right. In any case, the cakes are so tasty, that I would still recommend them. Our guests raved about the coconut cake.

Overall service was ok. I think I was expecting a little more than I received. Our cake came with our package from our wedding hall. However my husband and I upgraded. Having never ordered a cake before we thought the vendor would always add the wedding cake top into the number of people invited. However we did not have enough cake seeing that there was a 2 tier cake and one of the 3 tier was fake. Some of our guests would've been without cake so our wedding top part was cut up. Both my husband and I paid extra for cake and never got to try it at our wedding NOR take home the top for our one year anniversary. Being that this location has worked MANY MANY times with our wedding hall and they have dealt with wedding cakes for many years I feel they should've known to include that on top of the number of people receiving cake at our wedding.

The cupcakes and cake looked fabulous and tasted just okay. Everything was dry. We also ended up getting one of the wrong flavor cupcakes at our wedding which was not good at all. I had people who needed that specific one that I did not get and if people had allergies that could have been REALLY BAD!

I was locked into using Susie's based on my wedding reception venue contract. I met with them twice before the wedding and both times I was very unimpressed with their service and professionalism. We had an appointment for a tasting and were there for >2 hours because we had to wait around to follow several people who had appointments after ours. It felt like we were tossed to the side because they already knew they had our business. On the day of the event, the cake did appear to be there on time and everyone who tried it said they liked it.

The cake was delicious, and I went for a tasting on a Saturday with my fiance. When I called to make the appointment, the woman answering the phone was Very rude. Then when I got there, it was a free for all with the owner's husband cutting Huge slabs of cake- per person- for a tasting. (very odd, it's like they were getting rid of it) You can only taste the flavors that Susie made that day, and No, the woman in which I made an appointment with did not warn me of this. They have over 20 something flavors and combinations but this lack of communication and organization really irked me. Then I waited to speak with Susie and she had no price points, examples, check list.. nothing. She instructs people to look online because everything has gone digital. I need the options in black and white and priced out. Also, I never even tried the flavors of cake that I wanted for my wedding cake. Since the cakes I did try tasted good, I might consider to order something for a birthday or holiday, but unfortunately not for my wedding.

Terrible do not recommend

I had a terrible experience here. I did a cake tasting and requested a color, one item, and told Susie to take care of the rest. She requested a picture which I sent. She then charged my credit card for nearly $2k and didn’t know what to do. She wanted me to leave my credit card which is completely insane. Then when a family member picked the cake up, I got a red cake without the ONE item I requested. When trying to communicate the error, Susie was completely unwilling to fix it and didn’t agree that this was on her. She wanted to make the blame a mutual thing which was extremely unprofessional. I would never recommend this place to anyone looking to get a cake for a special event unless you want to argue with a store owner while already under stress. I wish I could give 0 stars.
