Excellent cake and service

Our wedding cake looked great and tasted delicious! We appreciated that they put the cost of the tasting toward the final cost of the cake and that they worked with us to adjust their standard cakes to ensure our cake had multiple flavors but with a consistent white color and the texture we wanted. Additionally, they reached out before the wedding to ensure that the order was correct and were very helpful on the day of the event with the loading of the cake into the car. The top two layers of our 3-tier cake did start to lean a bit despite being displayed indoors, but we think this is because it was out of the fridge for 3-4 hours.

Best Cake!!

We've been big fans of SusieCakes for years and it was a no-brainer to get our wedding cake from them. Even after loving their cupcakes and cakes for so long, our wedding cake still exceeded expectations. Everyone LOVED the cake and it was so good that even people familiar with SusieCakes were surprised to hear that's where we got our cake. We ended up getting 2 layers vanilla, 1 lemon, and 1 marble. The ordering process and communication was easy, quick, and clear. We did the tasting and the price went towards our cake which was amazing. Absolutely loved our cake and highly recommend SusieCakes to everyone!

Susiecakes - Bay Area

This is a review for the Susiecakes in Lafayette. I have never been a fan of wedding cake but I LOVE Susiecakes desserts so I knew I had to have them for our wedding. We chose a 3 tier marble cake and a dessert table with mini cupcakes and mini cookies. They caused me a bit of stress because they told me they couldn't deliver when I reached out but when I went to place my order, I found out they would deliver. The cake was incredible. Our guests LOVED the cake and the dessert table. The cookies were so good. They were easy to work with and transparent about their pricing. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Show stopper

This cake, I have never been to a wedding and heard so many people raving about the cake. Everyone loved the cake, it looked amazing and I am so so happy we used a local bakery to complete our special day!!! Absolutely knocked it out of the park!!

The Best Wedding Cake Hands Down

Suzie Cakes has always been one of my favorite Los Angeles baking institutions, so we knew working with them for our wedding would be the icing on the cake (pun intended). From the tasting to the final product they were an absolute dream and we can’t wait to return each year on our anniversary for a celebratory slice.

Cake cake cake

We ordered a 4 tiered wedding cake from SusieCakes. The cake was absolutely delicious! We were able to make each layer the flavor that we wanted. The people working at our local SusieCakes were so amazing to work with! They were so nice and always accommodated us when coming into the store. They made sure that our cake was exactly what we were wanting. They were so easy to work with, and made the cake tasting and selecting process so simple. We heard so many good things from our guests about how good the cake was. My husband and I go to SusieCakes often, and will continue to use them in the future for all of our dessert needs!

Best. Cake. Ever.

I booked SusieCakes Laguna Niguel for my wedding cake, and I still have dreams about how amazing the cake was! Stacey, our celebration specialist, was so kind during the tasting, as well as calling to confirm details and ensuring a perfect product. Our cake not only tasting great, but looked amazing! The best decision we made

We absolutely loved working with both the Marina and Marin locations for SusieCakes to arrange our tasting and their delicious cakes and cupcakes at our wedding! From the beginning, we loved every bite of the cakes and every inch of the sweet treats were gone by the end of the wedding. We have been to tons of weddings with cakes that go uneaten and our guests just raved about how good dessert was! This was the easiest and most cost efficient decision we made!

Loved our cake

Susie cakes was a must have for our wedding. The staff were so nice and accommodating to our specific delivery time. The cake tasted amazing and looked exactly what we wanted. And you know you are getting exactly what you pay for. Best part is since it is a chain/local bakery, you can go in and get a slice of your wedding cake whenever you want! No need to custom order for an anniversary if you were like me and had guests eat every last slice!

Most delicious and beautiful cake!

If you want a beautiful, inexpensive, AND delicious cake, go with Susiecakes! Seriously, my friend who normally eats paleo, walked around my wedding telling people how good the cake was and convincing more people to have some. It's THAT good. I loved our tasting. The staff was so kind and we got to try SO MANY OPTIONS. We also had so many options in terms of how many flavors and combining with what frosting. I loved that.

We ended up doing two flavors: Vanilla Celebration and Marble Cake. Both were a HUGE hit. I ate the leftovers for a week afterwards and LOVED every second of it. Can't recommend Susiecakes enough! Also, it was SO MUCH CHEAPER than the boutique cake shops, and to me, it tastes better. It was a no brainer hiring them!

Simple and delicious!!

My husband and I just wanted a simple two tier cake and we found that here. Who would have thought that we would choose a confetti cake for our wedding cake, but we sure did and it was the best cake we have ever had. So yummy! SusieCakes was great to work with and not only did we receive a beautiful simple wedding cake, but it was delicious! We look forward to re visiting for future anniversaries just to taste the cake again! Yummy!

The most delicious, unique cake!

We only did a small cake for cutting for our November wedding. SusieCakes took a paint swatch from our color scheme to make the most beautiful yellow ombre cake! We had a marble chocolate chip cake, and it was incredibly delicious and affordable. Our guests loved it!

SusieCakes was already my favorite bakery in LA so it was pretty obvious that I was going to choose them to do my wedding cake as well. If you're a buttercream fiend like myself (and dislike fondant), then nothing beats SusieCakes. We ended up getting a three-tiered marble chocolate cake, along with an extra sheet cake of the same flavor for our venue to keep in the back to make sure there was enough cake. They were able to match the style of cake we wanted exactly, and it was obviously incredibly delicious. No joke, we had at least 10 people tell us after the wedding that it was the best wedding cake they've ever had - moist, dense, sweet - exactly what good cake is supposed to be!

We used SusieCakes for our wedding cake and it was great! Working with Molly was absolutely a breeze, she designed an amazing cake for us and recommended an awesome sparkly cake stand to go with it! Delivery was on time, pricing was reasonable and everyone said the cake was delicious (oops.. I never actually got a moment to eat it! Luckily I've had that flavor so many times I know exactly what it tastes like). Couldn't possibly recommend SusieCakes and Molly more highly. We also ordered mini cupcakes which was great!

We used Susie Cakes for our wedding cake and dessert table. The staff at the Woodland Hills location is so kind and responsive. Best wedding cake I've ever tasted. Not to mention affordable!

After going to a couple tastings at "couture" bakeries, SusieCakes was a breath of fresh (non stuffy) air. Their tasting set up was so cute and I love how we could mix-and-match between cake and frostings. They were incredibly easy to work with and delivered exactly what we wanted, both from an aesthetic and taste perspective. Our guests raved about the cake - we barely had any left over! Great quality for an affordable price - we love Susiecakes!

We worked with SusieCakes in Sacramento for our Wedding on 8/4/16, but the Sacramento store closed.

But, Susie had the Lafayette location take over our dessert bar for our wedding. They got everything to Vizcaya on time and everything. The Cupcakes, cookies and the small cakes were great.

If you ever want something different for a wedding instead of a big wedding cake, try out SusieCakes as they were perfect to what we wanted and all of our guests enjoyed it a lot.

We would highly recommend SusieCakes to everyone for any event.

When my husband and I were looking for wedding bakers, we couldn't have been more excited to find out that SusieCakes has a location in San Diego! We live up in the Bay Area and have loved SusieCakes for many years now. The pricing was incredibly reasonable and the taste was fantastic - a real value! We had a 4 tier cake + half sheet + additional desserts (molasses cookies, brownies, Susie Nutties). We ended up having quite a bit of cake leftover (~160 guests) because the caterers put out the cookies and dessert trays out early so guests ate that first. We had Luscious Lemon and Chocolate Peanut Butter as our layers. We added those extra desserts a bit last minute since my mom thought the cake was not enough. Holly from the Carlsbad location was a pleasure to work with and was so accomodating to all of our changes. I would highly recommend SusieCakes to any engaged couple!

These cakes are DELICIOUS!!! We are not doing the traditional 3 tier wedding cake for our reception. We were hoping to just have a cutting cake to compliment our other selected desserts. Couldn't think of anyone better to create our delicious cutting cake than Susie Cakes! They have such a variety of cakes and frostings to offer. It makes the compromising much simpler. Can't wait to dive into our cake!

One of the things we liked best about SusieCakes was their ability to match the theme of the invitation to the cake. My daughter's wedding cake was beautifully and safely packaged as it needed to be transported about 20 miles away by a friend. It arrived in perfect condition, and looked wonderful. I also joined my daughter and her fiance for a fun cake and frosting tasting session before the big day, and we were treated so well at SusieCakes.

We attended our cake tasting in San Carlos, CA (excellent experience) but the Menlo Park, CA created the cake and delivered it as it was closer to our venue. I had several conversations with both locations and ALL Susie Cakes employees were professional, helpful,and tried very hard to provide excellent service. The cake was beautiful, the delivery was punctual,and we received so many compliments on the taste and appearance. They also provided wheat free cupcakes for our gluten sensitive guests. SusieCakes did a great job with our wedding cake. We originally wanted to use the store closer to our wedding site but they didn't deliver on Sundays. That store recommended we use their San Francisco location and we were very pleased with all we encountered. From the friendly staff and generous taste testing we attended to the detail on our wedding cake and on time delivery, SusieCakes was great. I barely got to eat my wedding cake, but it was delicious and moist. Only thing was that the "white" on the cake is not true white. We were disappointed on our wedding day with this detail, but later realized this is the "white" we saw on our tasting.

We adore Susie Cake's funfetti cake and knew that we wanted them to create our wedding cake!

They created exactly what we wanted and the price was incredible. We had tasted cakes costing up to $800 that didn't taste nearly as amazing as Susie Cakes!!

We purchased ours from the Calabasas location and my bridesmaid drove it up to Solvang. It was amazing!!!

The first thing I learned about wedding cakes- They are ridiculously expensive. Like, $800 to feed 70 people cake and I'd need to purchase an additional cake to feed the remaining 10 guests? Are you fricken out of your mind?

Enter SusieCakes. I called them up, their quote was at least half the cost of other bakeries. So I decided to do a tasting.

I live in San Carlos, so we went to the San Carlos location to do the tasting. The cake was good, the price as right, sold. We didn't go anywhere else. They transferred our information to the Lafayette location (yay for chains!) which was closest to our venue.

Alicia, the asst manager was so incredibly helpful and accommodating, especially since I was concerned about the cake being delivered on time and the fact that it comes in a box that we have to remove ourself (it was the simplest idiot proof box ever, so that was a waste of stress).

I sent her a pinterest photo of a cake I liked and mailed her a color swatch so they could match the icing to the bridesmaid dresses. They did an excellent job. Of course the icing was buttercream so it was delicious and SO THICK. The cake we chose was marble with chocolate filling and vanilla buttercream frosting. It was so rich and tasty. They delivered it on time, which honestly was my biggest worry of the day, and they did a wonderful job in replicating the pinterest photo.

If you want a delicious and affordable, deliciously affordable if you will, wedding cake, then I suggest you consider SusieCakes. It's been almost two weeks since our wedding and I'm still eating leftover cake. I call that a success.

SusieCakes did a great job with the cake for my wedding this June! My husband and I live in Northern California but were getting married in Orange County, so we tasted cakes at SusieCakes' Menlo Park shop and they seamlessly transferred all our information to the Costa Mesa location. When we tasted, they gave us lots of options to taste and showed us many photos of different designs they can do. Alexis at the Costa Mesa store handled all the information well and called several times to confirm our request before the big day. Our cake looked lovely, and most importantly, tasted amazing! We had lots of guests telling us it was the best wedding cake they'd ever had. SusieCakes wedding cakes might not be quite as fancy and intricate as some wedding cakes are, but they are certainly more delicious! I'd definitely recommend them!

We used SusieCakes in Lafayette for our wedding cake and dessert bar. We had the best time tasting desserts, and the delivery was right on time! The cake itself was delicious! Two tiers of celebration cake on bottom and chocolate marble on top - yum! We also had 4 types of mini cupcakes (red velvet, coconut vanilla, peanut butter chocolate, and mocha), mini whoopie pies, and 7 layer bars. The red velvet, coconut vanilla, whoopie pies, and 7 layer bars all went so quickly - definitely the crowd favorites! We're preserving a slice of our celebration cake for our 1 year anniversary, hopefully it tastes okay - if not, we're heading back to SusieCakes and buying a fresh slice!

The Portofino Hotel included a wedding cake in our package, and we could choose from either Susie Cakes or Torrance Bakery. We knew Torrance Bakery was well known for the decoration of their wedding cakes, so we assumed that would be the right pick. But after a really disheartening tasting experience at the Torrance Bakery (we were SO unimpressed with any of the options!), we decided to try Susie Cakes instead. We're so glad we did! It was such a great decision. The bottom line is that if you want a cake that TASTES delicious, go for Susie Cakes. If you want a cake that LOOKS super decorated, go for Torrance Bakery, but keep your expectations low on the taste.

We lucked out because their "Susie Blue" icing color (which is actually more of a light green) was one of our wedding colors, and it looked absolutely perfect with the white pearl piping along the base of each layer and flowers placed by our florist. And the taste was DELICIOUS. We had three layers of perfectly moist cake, each one with a different filling. We can highly recommend the coconut filling with the vanilla cake! All of our guests loved it.

The cake arrived on time and looked perfect. And our experience with the cake specialist, Lucy, was fantastic. We had a really enjoyable tasting experience with her, she was quick to respond to all our emails, and we even saw her out on the town the night of our wedding and she was as sweet as can be. We loved our experience with Susie Cakes so much that we're ordering a copy of what we had at our wedding to enjoy with family this weekend for Easter!

We got a small two-tier cutting cake and sheet cake for our wedding. SusieCakes was easy to work with, very reasonably priced, and so delicious! Everyone raved about the cake, and multiple people asked where the bakery was so they could go get their own baked goods! It was also beautiful. We will definitely be getting cakes from them for many future events!

Susie cakes provides the most amazing, fluffy, delicious cakes on the market! They easily beat any of their competitors. They are open later than most bakeries and take orders over the phone. The celebration cake was the perfect addition to my birthday. It is my absolute favorite and I cannot imagine having a birthday without one of Susies Cakes! They also have some delicious pies (as we learned over thanksgiving). The packaging includes instructions to keep the cupcakes fresh.

We had gone back and forth on having an actual wedding cake, but decided we would go for it! I honestly didn't do a ton of research but had gotten cakes at SusieCakes before, so knew that their cakes were delicious. I emailed with Molly as we were planning our wedding from Europe and she was prompt in responding and helpful in going through all of our options. We set up a tasting when we were back in SF for a week and got to try literally all of their combinations of cakes. SO SO GOOD!!! The hubby wasn't able to come to the tasting (so a lucky friend got to come!) but Molly sent me home with FULL slices of the ones that I liked so he could try everything.

Ultimately, we decided on a red velvet, three-tiered cake with cream cheese frosting (along with a sheet cake to cover the rest of our guests). Basically to die for! I wasn't super picky about what I wanted the outside of the cake to look like and was surprised by all of our options with the cream cheese frosting (who knew they could make cream cheese frosting look like fondant!). We didn't want any crazy design, just something that looked classy and simple. I had looked at some pictures when we went in for the tasting and Molly sent more afterwards of ones. The whole process from start to finish was easy. I didn't even research any other bakeries as there was no need. Their prices were much less than I expected for a wedding cake and the cake was absolutely delish! They also delivered the cake to our venue in San Francisco.

We have the top tier in the freezer, which I CANNOT wait to have! Fantastic service and a fantastic cake!! I would definitely recommend SusieCakes!!

Susie Cakes was the only choice for our wedding cake. I absolutely adore their “Celebration Cake” and loved that there was a pop of fun with the funfetti on the inside. We also opted to have sheet cakes of peanut butter & chocolate and red velvet with cream cheese frosting. The celebrations specialists were friendly, gracious, and wonderful to work with. I would highly recommend for weddings and any other occasion!

Being the ambitious bride and experienced baker that I am, I decided long ago that I was going to bake my own cutting cake. Nothing special, a 2-3 layer vanilla funfetti cake with vanilla buttercream (the first cake I ever made for my, now, husband).

Fast forward to 11pm the Thursday before our wedding, in the last minute wedding craziness, I forgot to bake the cake.

Enter SusieCakes & online ordering. At 11:15pm the same Thursday, I was able to order their Vanilla Celebration Cake and get it delivered to my parents' house on the morning of wedding day.

On the day of, the cake was delivered as promised and was just as delicious as it was beautiful.

Thank you SusieCakes for coming to my rescue and being my last minute wedding vendor!

We'll have to keep coming back on our anniversary to get a slice of that cake :)

Ordered our cake over the phone, provided a description of what we wanted.

Arrived at our venue to find they had delivered exactly what we had imagined and more. The cake was delicious and extremely fresh. Bakery even provided information on storage and a cake knife/server.

Some may say the prices were abit high but overall we found it great value for money and cannot fault there cakes or service.

We knew we wanted a simple, but delicious cake for our wedding in August. I already loved SusieCakes based on eating their cupcakes and cookies previously from the SF location. We had already done one cake tasting that turned out to be a disaster & the cakes were $$$$. Enter SusieCakes - we came up to the Marin location to do a tasting on a super rainy day. Julie sat with us going over what we liked in terms of flavors, styles, etc. We tasted a bunch of options and talked about sizes/prices. What I liked best was there was no pressure to make a decision - they are super flexible with timing and you can continue to change your order up until pretty close to the wedding.This was really helpful for us as we had a moving target for a guest count.

Leading up to the wedding I emailed Julia probably like 20 times debating flavors and size of the cake. She was always really helpful and patient with me. The cake was delivered with no issues the day of the wedding and looked perfect. I didn't get a chance to eat it at the wedding, but the guests liked it and we ran out. Cut to the next day when I found out the caterers didn't end up serving one of the sheet pans. We cut it up and served with our brunch where it was promptly devoured. We now have our top tier sitting in the freezer for our one year anniversary and I love that I can also go to one of the locations and order a fresh layer just in case.

Definitely a great option if you are looking for a simple, delicious, affordable cake with minimal bells/whistles. It was absolutely perfect for us.

This is for the Susie Cakes in Marin County.

I had been going to Sweet Things in Tiburon my whole life, but Susie Cakes cupcakes taste so much for fresh and homemade.

We got cupcakes and small cutting cake for our wedding. We got mini cupcakes and regular cupcakes, in several flavors (all yummy!). They were wonderfully flexible to accommodate us. Julie thought we might like their seasonal cupcake flavor, so contacted us to see if we wanted to add it to our order, and we did. Also, we got married on a Sunday, so they couldn't deliver to our venue, but they coordinated with our caterer to get them delivered to them the day before. Even a day old the cupcakes were absolutely delicious!!

Susie Cakes created our dream wedding cake for our August 2013 wedding. We provided them with some pictures and a description of our vision, and they truly brought it to life. Our cake was not only beautiful, it was DELICIOUS! (Not always the case with wedding cakes!) The staff at this store even provided us with "sample tasting" boxes so that we could share our selected flavors with our families. So thoughtful! SusieCakes is soooo yummy! I ended up getting cupcakes and a small cake from the Menlo Park store for my wedding and I'm so happy I choose SusieCakes over any other bakery. I ended up having two tastings with SusieCakes and they were so responsive to my emails. At my first tasting, my husband wasn't able to come so they offered to send me home with some cupcakes for him to try. And they were soooo nice to my 2.5 year old neice who tagged along for the tasting. I couldn't ask for a better combination of delicious cupcakes and cake, friendly and attentive service that definitely went above and beyond expectations, and reasonable prices. I will definitely be getting all my special occasion desserts from SusieCakes from now on, whether it's a small birthday or something bigger!!

I would go back and book Susie Cakes again if I had the chance! They are so affordable for starters, and our cake was delicious. It was such a good deal the cake was dense and moist and their frosting is to die for. Their manager literally saved the day though because I completely forgot to pick up the cake!!! She drove it down to the rehearsal dinner for me! talk about going above and beyond for their customers. Truly, I have nothing but good things to say about susie cakes baking ability and their willingness to keep their customers happy.

We had Susiecaes bake our wedding cake and we are still getting compliments on our cakes!! We opted for the coconut pineapple cake and red velvet, both of which were loved by our guests. The cakes were moist and delivered timely, and perfectly decorated as discussed. The prices here are very competitive vs the typical weddin cake bakeries....if we could give 6 stars, we would!!

Susie Cakes was Fantastic. We showed them a picture and they duplicated our cake perfectly. There price was very reasonable especially when we were on such a tight budget. After everyone was done eating there cake at the reception, I went around asking our guest what they thought…EVERYONE LOVED IT!!!! Everyone said our cake was very unique and different. The majority of guest said that they would have never thought about having a cake that taste just like a Reses Pieces and Andes Chocolate. If you are on a budget and want a really good cake, go to Susie Cakes. Our cake was made for 200 guest, which included a 3 tiered cake (each layer was a different flavor), a full size sheet cake (one flavor), and a half sheet cake (one flavor). So in total of 5 different FLAVORS!!!! Price: around $700

We went with SusieCakes in Newport Beach after our previous baker had to close her business. We were not disappointed! At the tasting there were full sized cupcakes!

They do deliver but do not set up. We just had a small cake and a cupcake tower so our venue handled the set up for us. The delivered early and everything looked great!

They use real ingredients so the cake is heavier than some other bakery cakes, but it is just as good!

They are very professional and on top of things. We had 4 different flavors and all were loved. Their Red Velvet is to die for and I love their vanilla with strawberry icing. If you visit their store try a whoopie pie or a peanut butter cookie pie-they are also amazing!

Contact Kim at Susie Cakes for a special tasting! She is professional, fun and outgoing! Susie has THE BEST cake I have ever eaten. The cake is all made from scratch. No fondant or artificial ingredients. This is all natural, pure deliciousness! I promise! The red velvet is yummy, but my favorite was their coconut chocolate and the mint chocolate. We got our cake from Susie Cakes in Calabasas. We got red velvet sheet cake and a 3 tiered wedding cake which was to die for. People absolutely loved the cake and even got seconds. I am a foodie/fatty. Their cakes are simple but perfect. We tried other places in Camarillo which were more $ and came highly recommended but were not impressed. People that visited outside the country loved the cakes so much they wanted to open a chain outside the US. Go there and let the cake do the talking. Simple perfection.

We used Susie Cakes for our wedding earlier this month for our wedding at the Sunset Restaurant in Malibu. We had to plan our wedding completely over the phone/internet because we live out of town. We had a wonderful experience working with Li and Alanna at Susie Cakes. Li even made sure she bought Snickers in order to get the coloring just the way we were hoping for! We had a 3-tier cake with differnet flavors on each and they were ALL wonderful. Our guests had so many compliments on both how pretty the cake was but also how wonderful it tasted. My husband and I are not the biggest cake fans, but after eating a Susie cake we have changed our minds. Their pricing is also very reasonable. We would fully recommend Susie Cakes.

Working with Susie Cakes was one of the easiest (and most delicious!) parts of the wedding planning process. We worked very closely with Brooke and she was incredibly friendly and helpful. She always answered our questions in a timely manner and went the extra mile whenever possible. We wanted a dessert table at our wedding so we opted for a few small cakes (two 6" and one 9" - red velvet, celebration, and chocolate) and a bunch of mini desserts like cookies, whoopie pies, 7 layer bars, etc. The guests LOVED our dessert table and even told us that the red velvet was the best they had ever had! If you want to have delicious treats that your guests will love and an amazing customer service experience - I'd highly recommend working with Susie Cakes!

Okay, first of all.. Susie Cakes baked goods are DELICIOUS. Oh my goodness, their buttercream frosting is to die for. Second, they are so kind and helpful. I got a 2 tiered cake for my wedding, and it was so tasty and beautiful! I also had a vintage-themed wedding and did an old-fashion pie bar with pies from Susie Cakes. Typically they do personal mini pies for weddings, but I wanted big pies. They also usually do only 2 pie flavors a month. After meeting with the manager, however, they totally accommodated my needs and let me choose 4 flavors of pies that they made specifically for my wedding. I ended up ordering 16 pies and nearly all of them were eaten. My guests are still talking about the pie, and my aunt said she wants to fly to California just to have their cake again! Super helpful, super nice, and scrumptious goodies!

From the moment my fiance and I scheduled our tasting appointment, I felt completely at ease with the wonderful staff at Susie Cakes! Allison was so great and professional to work with and completely captured the theme we were going for to compliment our beach wedding. The cake samples were AWESOME and it was difficult to narrow down which flavors we wanted for our 3-tiered wedding cake. Allison took diligent notes and my wedding invitation, which really encompassed the overall them and colors from my wedding. The staff is incredibly friendly, responsive and flexible. I can honestly say that my husband and I were blown away when we first saw our cake, which was DELICIOUS...we received rave reviews from our guests as well (a few of whom aren't really fans of cake in general!). I couldn't be more pleased and will definitely work with Susie Cakes again for other special occasion cakes down the road. I highly recommend Susie Cakes to any bride looking for a creative, professional, flexible and cost efficient bakery to create a beautiful masterpiece of a wedding cake!

Best bakery cake you will ever have!!! The red velvet is outstanding. We served 170 people and the cost was so reasonable with delivery. Our guests were going crazy for the cakes. We had 6 different round cakes, chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting, lemon, marble, white cake with strawberry frosting, tropical coconut & red velvet. There's a few different locations in California, but we went to the shop in Newport Beach.

Susie Cakes also does wedding cakes and this is who we chose for our wedding cake vendor. They make a delicious red velvet cake, as well as other flavors, and are very flexible as to your ideas for the design of the cake. They don't work with fondant or any artificial ingredients, so your cake tastes delicious and looks beautiful!

I knew that I wanted to purchase my wedding cake from SusieCakes because her cakes are delicious and because I wanted to support her since she was involved with the Junior League of Los Angeles (which I've since quit). I'd emailed the Calabasas store about wedding cakes since it's closer to my venue, but didn't actually make an appointment for a cake tasting. Anna Bell let me know that I could do a cake tasting closer to my home in Brentwood or at any other store if it was more convenient & still order from them (lower delivery charge since closer to venue).

I took my parents out to see the venue the week after we booked it (at the end of the year), and decided to swing by SusieCakes in Calabasas since we were up that way anyway (my husband doesn't do sweets). Despite not having an appointment (NOT recommended), Anna graciously accommodated us for an impromptu cake tasting. I decided that day on cake flavors (marble, red velvet, lemon), a cake design, and on the mini dessert bar (which really seemed full-sized!), but decided to wait before placing an order till we had a better idea of our numbers).

Toward the end of February, Anna gave us a heads up that cake prices were going up, but that she'd honor the price previously quoted if we ordered/submitted payment info by the end of that week (dessert bar prices were remaining the same). We super appreciated that, as the cake price was going up $110.

Ordering was very easy and Anna was very patient & communicative, and helpful when I realized that I'd forgotten about a cake stand about recommending the proper size for the cake. I do wish that the third party delivery company was able to provide a more specific delivery time than the window, but I get that that's how deliveries go. All was delicious & got rave reviews!

Brace yourselves; I didn't want cake at my wedding. I don't really like it....Then I tried Susie Cakes.

We wanted them to cater small treats for our dessert table and went for a tasting to the Brentwood Location. Hannah was so bubbly and gave us plenty of time to eat and ponder. The cake was the best cake I have ever had. Must haves: 1. lemon bars (a must if you like citrus), 2. susie's nuttys. Our cake was three tiers: marble cake with coffee buttercream, chocolate cake with mint buttercream and vanilla cake with coconut butter cream. They are so customer service orientated and have a delicious product. And with locations all over Southern CA, there is no reason not to order you cake from Susie Cakes.

Susie Cakes made our wedding cake and it was delicious! We had a 3 tier cake and a sheet cake. The flavors were amazing and guests raved about it! The simple ruffle design on the cake was exactly what we wanted. If you like moist cake, buttercream, and a variety of flavors then try Susie Cakes. Everyone at Susie Cakes was super friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend them!

We had the red velvet wedding cake (3 tiers) and it was very delicious. Many of our guests said it was one of the best wedding cakes they ever had.
Before you order your cake, make sure you schedule a free wedding cake tasting appt. They will let you try all kinds of flavors in their store at your appt. We got ours from the Newport Beach location. Delivery charges are expensive so we had someone help us pick it up.

I elected to serve a dessert bar and a small wedding cake at our reception. I selected mini cupcakes which were the perfect bit size treat and whoopie pies which were everyone's favorite (try them, they literally melt in your mouth!). Our wedding cake was red velvet and BY FAR the best red velvet cake I have tasted (and I tasted a ton of red velvet cakes during the tasting process).

The Susie cake staff were incredibly professional and sweet before, during and after my tasting. Placing my order was easy and they were wonderful at accommodating a last minute delivery the day before the wedding. There are several sites and all are amazing and adorable! A tad pricey but you're getting exceptional quality for the price!

Absolutely delicious. I'm still eating it over a week later.

Got our wedding cake from Susie Cakes in Studio City and I LOVED it. I waited 6 months to get this cake and I'm still enjoying every minute of eating it lol. The cake was delivered in a timely manner and was decorated perfectly and, of course, it tasted delicious. I will say, we almost didn't go with them during the tasting because (to me) the cupcakes they gave us to taste were a little dry, but their actual cakes were entirely different. Make sure you taste an actual cake! They were also the most affordable of all the cake places we tasted at (by like $400) on top of being the most delicious. Oh, and instead of making you save the top of the cake to eat in a year (kinda gross), they'll make you a whole new top on your 1 year anniversary! So glad we went with them.

SusieCakes makes the most delicious cupcakes and, as a result, I had to have their cake for my wedding. They do not do fondant but if you are looking for taste over appearance this is the way to go. I had different flavors for each layer plus a groom's cake and all turned out wonderfully. I asked them to add my wedding logo to the cake from my invitation and it came out wonderfully. They do not need significant notice and are very accommodating.

Great experience overall! A great alternative to a wedding cake (and WAY more flavorful). They delivered without any issues to a venue that was a bit off the grid. We got rave reviews of them. The one thing that made us a bit sad was they discontinued a flavor of icing that we loved. It made my husband a bit sad that they wouldn't bring it back for us, but what are you going to do. Would definitely recommend them to anyone.

We ordered the 3 tiered stacked cake with buttercream frosting on the outisde. We then added sugar flowers that we bought online. The result is pretty, but the buttercream had a lot of dimples in it and wasn't smooth as other buttercream cakes I have seen. It wasn't an especially cold or hot day. They charge $100 for delivery, which I thought was expensive, but the red velvet and lemon flavors are delicious.

The cake tasted delicious nothing but compliments from all our guests. The only reason i rated a 4 star on flexibility is because they were unable to do some of the designs on cakes due to the better tasting frosting. I am so happy that we chose to change the design a little to accommadate this great priced cakery.

This cake was absolutely delicious. We got the chocolate with coconut filling. Even the FROSTING was delicious! The price was also several hundred less than what other places were charging. They don't deliver on Sundays, and my wedding was on Sunday. For an additional $25, they opened the bakery just for us and had the cake delivered. We're glad we went with SusieCakes for our wedding cake. One problem was that they charged us for a monogram, but there was no monogram on the cake. But that's it.

Susie Cakes in Menlo Park did a beautiful job on our cake! It was delicious and everyone was talking about it! We ordered a 3 layer for the traditional cutting and then 2 sheet cakes for the hotel staff to cut and serve. Easy - time saving - money saving. Great idea and perfect outcome!!

They are flexible and easy to work with. Excellent service and everyone is very nice. All cakes are buttercream. Their cakes and desserts are too sweet for most Asian palates.

I used the Brentwood location and got a 3-tiered round cake with a sheet cake that fed about 100 people total.

My fiance' and I KNEW we wanted red velvet cake, and Susiecakes has consistently been one of our faves through the years. So it was a little strange that that I totally forgot about them as I was going around town checking out all of these bakeries that specialize more in wedding cakes (none of whom were impressive to me taste-wise), when I finally remembered... duh, I need to check Susiecakes to see if they do wedding cakes?!!

Julia is the manager I dealt with at the Brentwood location, and they did a great tasting - we were able to try all of the cakes and various icings in tiny spoons, so we could imagine all of the possible pairings.

All of the flavors were great, but again, we settled on red velvet for the top and bottom layers, a vanilla/white cake with their strawberry icing filling for the middle layer, and we also did a chocolate sheet cake in the back as a more budget-conscious way to have a groom's cake (he loves chocolate) and to also provide our guests with one more flavor. I worked with Julia during our one simple meeting to select which design best fit our theme, and it was perfect and exactly what I thought I was getting in-person.

The only con I have is re: their delivery. They use a delivery "service," and that service was only available for certain hours each day, so that caused some stress for me with a tight venue timeline on the day of. But my wedding coordinator was able to take the cake out of the box and set it up with our topper, no problems.

The absolute best thing about this cake? I've lost count with how many people have told us it is THE BEST wedding cake they have ever had, including from one friend who used to make cakes for a living. So moist, fresh, flavorful, and delicious! The hubby and I have enjoyed leftovers every day for over a week now, and it is still DIVINE! Long live Susiecakes!!!

SusieCakes was a dream to work with! We had a really negative experience when we first started looking for a cake vendor, so it was really nice to work with such a professional business.

From the beginning, the wedding specialist (Li) was wonderful, and arranged a fantastic cake tasting for us. She was really open to our ideas and gave us some great options for our day. We ended up with a small, 6-inch cake for cutting, and then lots of regular-size and mini cupcakes, as well as these adorable heart-shaped tarts and a mini dessert bar (with lemon bars, brownies, cookies, etc.!) The pricing was really reasonable, too, and even less than we had budgeted initially, so I was really pleased.

The cutting-cake turned out beautifully, exactly what I had wanted, as did everything else. The only weird thing was that we had been told that the flavor for the tarts was going to be peach, but afterward, everyone told me how great the APPLE tarts were! What? I didn't get to try anything until the next day (leftovers!) and there were no tarts left, so I have no idea!

Everyone loved the variety of dessert options and thought that they were all delicious and beautiful. Plus, Li was so helpful during the process, allowing me to make (many) changes to the original order. SusieCakes is wonderful and I'd recommend them to anyone!

Picked out 9 gorgeous various cakes from Susie Cakes for my wedding, and so glad I did.

They were responsive, polite, professional, and arrived on time for my wedding. Coudldn't ask for more.

Only thing was they are pretty inflexible on customizing their normal cakes... ie can't put strawberries on, etc. But they had so many options for customizing your cake otherwise, it all worked out.

Cakes all tasted FRESH, fantastic, so flavorful.

Suzie Cakes created the most delicious wedding cake I have ever tasted! We ordered 3 different kinds of cake...all frosted to look alike. The red velvet was a favorite. It was beautifully iced just as we'd hoped. The only drawback in ordering from Suzie Cakes is that they do not deliver on Sundays, which was our wedding day. They boxed it safely and we refrigerated it overnight so it was easy to transport and had no problem. Yummy!
