Our April wedding
Chef has shown professionalism from the first consultation. He was patient even after we changed the menu more than once and had to make adjustments to the catering number.
His presentation was exceptional, and the food was delicious.
Months after our wedding, we are still getting compliments on the food that was prepared and the setup at the wedding.
When we had problems with the venue, on the day before our wedding, Chef was able to step in and help us to find a solution so that everything could run smoothly.
He was even considerate enough to provide a customized wedding gift for us.
I would recommend his services to anyone who needs a cater, and I wouldn't hesitate to use his services again.

Magnificent Christmas Turf dinner

My event was a office party and Surf and Turf certainly delivered an excellent experience as promised.
Everything was on point. Service was great, the team was very professional and they were very flexible and worked with me to bring out the settings exactly how I wanted it.

Outstanding catering service!!
Durren and his crew catered and bartended our wedding and needless to say, from the cocktail hour to the dinner, everything was amazing! We had never really had much “Jamaican food” so when we were planning our wedding, we just left it into the caterers hands and he got to decide what would be best. A lot of the food, we had never had before but every single thing we had was absolutely amazing. The mannish water was the best soup we have ever tasted and the jerk chicken was beyond delicious. So many of our guests loved the snacks at the cocktail hour so much, they didn’t think they were going to have enough room for dinner. Personally, we almost wanted to stop taking pictures so we could go eat all of the food, just kidding :) but that is how good it was! The bartender kept the drinks flowing and asked us specifically what he should hold onto for us to make sure we had our favorite drinks. He even showed us some epic dance moves during the reception! The involvement was incredible! Durren and his crew made sure us and our guests were served and taken care of the whole night and we were so excited for this experience to try new things and loved every minute of it. Thank you Durren and everyone at Surf and Turf for making our night even more special.

Durran was responsive, professional and easy to work with. The food was so good, so good. The presentation was A+ and the taste was A+++. I had a tough crowd at my event and everyone commented on how good the food was. You will not be disappointed.

Surf and Turf was hired for my wedding in October 2020 with just 15 guests and achieving what they did was no easy feat. The 15 guests that were catered to were very picky eaters and to see each person leaving nothing on their plates from the food that was served was so satisfying. Surf and Turf was simply, awesome. The meals were timely and done to precise order. They are very accomodating and again, just to reiterate how much we enjoyed the food: the meals were sublime! I'm still surprised as to how affordable their mouthwatering menu selections are - and with catering being such an important part of such a special day, I was very pleased with how Surf and Turf delivered perfectly.

Amazing food
My event was totally last minute however, the caterer took the initiative to make it happen. Totally appreciated that. A1 service, delivery and set up on time and they always kept in contact. Not to mention the food was amazing, all the guest wanted to know who catered. Will definitely be using this caterer in the future.

An Excellent Caterer
My husband and I booked Durren and his team at Surf and Turf Fridays to cater our wedding at Devon House on January 12th. Durren made the process very easy for us, especially as overseas clients. We primarily communicated via email and his responses were always timely and thorough. He was also very accommodating and flexible with our last minute changes. On the day of our wedding Durren and his team were professional, punctual, pleasant and attentive. Based on his instagram pictures I had a strong feeling that he would cook delicious authentic Jamaican food and he did not disappoint. We had a buffet for our cocktail hour and a 3 course plated meal for dinner. All the courses tasted great and the presentations were creative and tasteful. It was an absolute pleasure working with Durren and we cannot thank him enough for all of his hard work. I highly recommend this company if you are looking to have great food and great customer service.

The wow factor for me is that I was concerned on the day that my children would not have eaten because they are picky eaters but Durren delivered. My son - five years old had my meal along with his. My nephew said aunty I lovved the food. My girlfriend who is also a chef said the fish was excellent and well seasoned. My guest were well pleased and Surf and Turf created that WOW factor for us. They arrived and set up immediately, arranging the items in such a beautiful way.
The layout was beautiful, the explanation of each food item was informative and their demeanor was welcoming.

Surf and Turf is a pleasure to work with! They arrived on time, conducted his business with minimal intrusion and professionalism. They were friendly, upbeat and very accommodating! The food is excellent and always presented so artfully. Everything was set up on time, and the food was packed in the fridge and the kitchen cleaned as if no one had been there. I didn’t even need to clean afterwards and I am very fussy so that says a lot!

Good communication but his staff is not great-THEY TOOK HOME MY WEDDING CAKE!!
I saw Surf and Turf had good rating here so I decided to use them. The Chef or Owner is a great person, very responsive, very professional however I took away a few stars because of the staff.
1. I paid for a certain portion of food to be served and if there are left overs or people ask for extras, they should be allowed to have it. I originally had 108 guest in total but only 97 showed up. That leaves extra serving but my brother complained that when he asked for additional serving the staff said no and removed the food from the line - What did I pay for?? I literally went to the tent to see them eating and told my brother to forget about it. I could hear one staff in the back 'A wha dem a duh up yah?'
2. MY WEDDING CAKE WAS TAKEN BY HIS STAFF- After the cake cutting, I asked if they could cut and serve the cake, I'm still surprise as to the tiny slices I saw being served to the guests. Not even a full slice was placed on the dishes. I had a 4 tier cake to serve 160 people-I had 97 guests. They barely served the guests a full slice, I took home the two top layers(I only wanted 1 top layer). I remember my cousin saying the cake was done, I thought that was not possible. I later found out that the coordinator took the left over cake from his staff and placed it with the other 2 layers in a box and his staff went back to take the cake out after the fact. The cake was 2 flavors, MYSELF & THE GROOM STILL HAVEN'T EVEN GOTTEN A FULL SLICE OF THE BASE OF MY CAKE!! I spoke to the owner of Surf and Turf after the fact and he explained what happened on his end but the coordinator took the cake from them and placed it in the box and his staff still went and took it out. There is just no excuse for that.
3. His service staff serving food spilled on to the buffet station - when my aunt asked her to remove or clear it - the staff ignored her, it was another staff that went to clear it for her- absolutely unacceptable.
Because of this I would not recommend SURF AND TURF!!
