I could not recommend Carrie and Ganer enough! From the get-go, Carrie was so sweet and personable. She makes a genuine effort to get to know each couple, and offers a complimentary engagement session in Bowling Green upon booking. When COVID-19 did its thing and completely changed our plans, they were so flexible and helpful with rescheduling with us, and they did a beautiful job photographing our tiny family wedding! I’ll recommend them to all of my friends for years to come! -

I don’t have enough kind words in my vocabulary to describe Sur La Lune… Carrie and Ganer are just absolutely wonderful people in every sense of the word! Looking through our wedding photos for the first time transported me back to those moments on that day even though it was weeks later in my living room.
Carrie’s artistry is perfection! She’s so detailed oriented and every photo is absolutely incredible! The angles, the lighting, the posing, the backdrops, the candids, BAM, nailed it! I literally just shared our entire wedding album with my family and friends because everyone deserves to be touched by the joy Carrie and Ganer captured on our big day! Every photo is so authentic, and we couldn’t be more thankful!
Our wedding was held on my family’s farm in Edmonton, KY. My family and I created our little wedding venue from scratch and Carrie and Ganer were able to capture EVERY DETAIL! When you spend so much time putting together your day, it’s so important to have thoughtful, meaningful, BEAUTIFUL documentation of all the details and little moments most might miss. Along with this, my husband and I are really free-spirited, easy going, and family oriented, so it was extremely important that our wedding photos captured the essence of “us” on our big day. Carrie did the prep work necessary to make sure they were able to capture all the important parts of our day, big and small, and it means the world to us that we get to look back on them whenever we want! She took the time to get to know us as a couple and truly understand our vision for the day.
I can’t wait for more of our next big life events to happen for a lot of reasons, but also to have an excuse to work with Sur La Lune again! Even our guests were like, “wow they were everywhere and so freakin’ kind!” - Kindness is important y’all!
Thank you again Carrie and Ganer! I’m sorry this has taken me longer to write than I’d hoped (life, man)! I still owe you those bottles of wine and I can’t wait to see you guys again! 💕 -

Our 2020 COVID wedding with Sur La Lune Photography
We had a COVID wedding and I don't think our very special day could have been captured better by anyone. Carrie and her husband gave us the gift of those memories forever with her beautiful photography. She's truly gifted. -

Hiring Carrie (and Ganer!) was easily one of the best decisions we made during the wedding planning process. Carrie is a master at her craft – her photos came out looking AMAZING while also capturing the joy and authenticity of the day. The “formal” portraits are perfect for printing, etc. and but the candids were (in our opinion) the real keepsakes. We now have about a thousand (if not more, Carrie and Ganer do not skimp on the number of photos) of all our favorite people meeting, hugging, and dancing the night away, which is truly priceless. So, if you’re looking for a skilled photographer with a photojournalistic style, hire SLL.
But beyond that, we loved working with Carrie because she is also a truly delightful human. She provided useful guidance about her process from the beginning, regularly checking in with us before the wedding and answering questions about timelines and details. She made our engagement shoot feel fun and playful, despite neither of us feeling particularly comfortable in front of a camera in our normal lives. Carrie was also one of the few photographers we found in the Nashville/Bowling Green area who seemed open and comfortable with diverse and/or non-traditional weddings. On the day of, she handled wrangling our sprawling, interracial families with aplomb, rolling with the punches all day long. After the wedding, our friends and family remarked not just on how much they loved the photos, but also on how they had enjoyed meeting and spending time with Carrie and Ganer.
In short, these folks are worth their weight in gold; our only regret is waiting this long to write a review.

From the beginning, she was such a sweetheart and we knew we wanted to hire her immediately! After our initial emails, Carrie suggested we set up a Facetime call with her to 'meet' and it instantly put me at ease! I knew she would be the perfect person to photograph our big day - she is so engaging, funny and such a joy to be around! Our families and friends loved her and thought she made the day flow so smoothly! We just recently received our photos back and to say we love every single one of them is an understatement. Carrie is so talented and really captured our big day even more beautifully than I could have imagined. She works her butt off to get every shot you could think of..she was running around all evening! Carrie and SLL are the best! -

Thanks isn’t enough to express how grateful we are that Sur La Lune came into our lives. I remember when we were researching photographers for our engagement ceremony - I was honestly quite nervous about photographers in the Bowling Green area and their openness to capturing intimate moments during a Pakistani Muslim engagement ceremony at a mosque. Not only that - this was a first for our small community, with two of the oldest kids in the community deciding to commit their lives to one another. When we saw your page and the work that you have so lovingly captured, there was no more fear or hesitation. We could see the love and light radiating through your photos - regardless of the subject’s backgrounds, religious beliefs, or whom they love. When it came time for the engagement our nerves melted away when Carrie and Ganer greeted us with their smiles and excitement. For two people feeling self conscious about taking “couple-y” photos, we felt at ease and had so much fun working with you all. The pictures that day captured the whirlwind of excitement and love we were feeling that day. And you two went the extra mile to document the moments our community was sharing in the newly built community center of the mosque - it was the first time the mosque hosted an event like this and we are blessed to have beautiful pictures that remind us of that milestone in our community’s history! I remember telling Carrie that we were committed to having you be our wedding photographer after the heartwarming and amazing experience we had with you at our engagement. Both our families were so impressed, not only with your work, but your ability to connect with people - through and outside the camera lens. At our mendhi ceremony Carrie and Ganer got all the colors, the glitter, the intimate moments within and between ceremonies. We became the stars of our ownBollywood movie! Usman and I would see Ganer’s smile and Carrie's pleased expression after getting a good moment and we were reminded of how you both have become more than photographers to us - we value your friendship and our door in DC/wherever we end up in the future is always open to y’all! As we went through the pictures from the religious ceremony at the mosque/nikkah, the number of “awws” as we went through these photos can not be counted. Usman and I remember like yesterday the days we would go to that mosque - it was a second home to us and our community helped build it from the ground up. I am so so grateful that we took those pictures in the spot we used to read Quran in weekend classes together. At the wedding ceremony, Carrie, Ganer and Rachel captured the glamorous, beautiful reception that was the perfect way to celebrate our marriage with our family and friends. First of all, having Carrie and Rachel over at the house was so much fun. Usman and I were in our element - we felt like models in those Pakistani bridal magazines haha. Or even better, we felt like royalty. You all were so sweet and took the time to pay attention to details while laughing and enjoying the moments with us. As for the event itself - Wow. Every photo, every look/smile/dance move/pose - wow. We were as blown away as we were when we first saw the venue all done up for the first time. I've said it so many times, but again, what Sur La Lune does is art. And we aregrateful to be a part of what you do. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Sanaa & Usman -

Staci Sent on 05/07/2017We were so happy to find Sur La Lune photography for our wedding in Springfield Illinois. We fell in love with her crisp and bright wedding photos and were not disappointed. Carrie and her husband were very responsive to my emails and kept me calm before the wedding day. They did a great job handling wedding portraits and kept us smiling (which was important to me!) I would definitely recommend! -

Aside from jaw dropping photographs, they kept a journal of all of our details in order to keep in line with our vision, were very involved in helping to schedule and proffering ideas so our time would be used most effectively, they were very courteous in keeping us on the schedule, and very polite and involved with all of our guests (especially who they call our VIPs). We felt extremely supported when Carrie showed up to our rehearsal just to ask detailed questions and make sure she had access to get all of the shots we wanted. What friendly people and what extraordinary photographs they produce. Would highly recommend to anyone.
