Incredible

5 stars simply is not enough. Sugar exceeded every expectation and was truly phenomenal. Even when they took short breaks, our guests were literally waiting on the dance floor for them to play again! Our wedding was the most fun night of my life, thanks to Sugar. Every single guest raved about how incredible they were and I couldn’t agree more. People are still talking about how much they loved the band 2 months later. The playlist was perfect and they were incredibly fun and classy for our black tie affair. The dance floor was packed from the first song to the last. Everyone demanded an encore! Best night ever. Thank you, Sugar!

Everyone Loved Sugar!

Sugar has a great reputation in New England but they exceeded every expectation at my daughter's wedding reception - everyone was raving about them! They had the perfect playlist and performance for this black tie affair, reading the room perfectly and delivering a fun, on-point performance. We added a couple extra pieces (horns) that added a classy touch. Communication leading up to the event was clear and efficient. I give Sugar my highest recommendation!

Awesome band - highly recommend for a fun wedding!

Our guests are still talking about how much fun they had with Sugar! The band is very talented, brought a lot of energy to the evening, handled emcee duties to keep the night moving and fun and were flexible with timing around speeches/meals. They played a couple of requests but otherwise took charge in playing all of the songs that they know would work great for meals and then dancing and they kept the dance floor full all night! Marcy was great to work with too! Would definitely recommend them for a wedding - or any event!

We can't say enough good things about Sugar! From start to finish, they made our wedding unforgettable. Their selection of songs was fantastic, keeping the energy alive and everyone on the dance floor all night long. Marcy was an absolute joy to work with—so responsive and helpful throughout the planning process, ensuring everything went smoothly. Sugar seamlessly handled music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, each with the perfect vibe.

One of the most special moments of the night was our last dance together after all our guests had left. The band made it incredibly memorable, creating a magical and intimate atmosphere that we will cherish forever.

Highly recommend!

We had sugar at our wedding a couple of weeks ago and we could not have been happier! They were so easy to work with, and even learned two songs that were important to us. Even the hot and humid weather didn’t keep anyone off the dance floor, it was packed the entire night. They had such great energy and were so fun!

"THIS BAND IS INCREDIBLE" was the statement of the night, Sugar's performance blew our guests away. Marcy was a pleasure to collaborate with leading up to wedding day, even allowing us 2 custom songs that meant so much to us for our first dances, and their performance day of was spectacular. Everyone, and I mean everyone, was on the dance floor until the last song.

Fantastic wedding band

We are so incredibly happy with our decision to hire Sugar for our wedding. They were one of the first vendors that we booked right after we had the venue and date set because having good music was a big priority to us. They sounded incredible and had really wonderful energy. Marcy was a great point person and was very responsive with communication leading up to the wedding. They were professional, organized, and did a really phenomenal job.

Amazing experience!

Sugar performed at my daughter’s wedding in December 2021. The wedding had been postponed due to Covid so it was a long time coming. The dance floor was full the entire night. It felt like a concert. All my guests commented about how great the music was. If you want a night to remember, make sure to have Sugar as your band. Marcy and her members were very professional and read the room perfectly.

Phenomenal!!

This band is incredible. So accommodating, so professional, so TALENTED! These superb musicians lit up the entire ballroom with their vibe and their energy, they easily kept us on our feet all night long. Friends are family are still gushing over their performance, we are too! Highly recommended!!

Best part of our whole wedding

When I first got engaged, we reached out to SUGAR to ask for their available dates for the following summer. Essentially, we would choose a date around their availability. We had been to 2 weddings that they did, and love following them perform locally at events and bars, and we are SO glad we had them be a part of our wedding day. Months later and our friends and family are still raving about the band. They kept everyone dancing all night.

During the planning process, I was extremely pleased with their communication. They came out to the space ahead of time to check with the electrical capability, and were wonderfully responsive, encouraging, and professional in every interaction.

We hope our friends will copy us for their own weddings so we can have the pleasure of experiencing them perform again soon!

A highlight of the night!

SUGAR was amazing!! Everyone was on the dance floor all night having a blast, singing along, and kept telling us SUGAR was the best wedding band they’ve heard! They’re so lovely and wonderful to work with and have a fantastic selection of songs. Look no further because you’ve just found your wedding band!

Hands down BEST wedding band!

As soon as I got engaged, I reached out to Sugar to play our wedding. I love their energy and ability to get everyone on the dance floor each time I see them perform. Music and dancing were some of our top priorities for our wedding, so it was an easy decision to book them!

Marcy was great to work with and always responsive. I had a few questions and changes leading up to the day. She made it very easy and never made me feel any stress. Not only did the band perform at our reception, but we were also able to book the acoustic guitar for our wedding ceremony. It was beautiful!!

I highly recommend Sugar to anyone looking for great music, great service, and most importantly great people at their wedding or event! They made the evening into the party I was hoping for. Thank you.

My wedding guests have been RAVING about Sugar ever since my wedding. Many of my guests have even traveled to see them again since. They are absolutely incredible musicians and people. We had the perfect wedding day thanks to their professionalism and talent.

AMAZING!! SO glad we picked Sugar!

I cannot say enough!!!! Sugar absolutely made our wedding, and our family/friends were out on the dance floor before it even got dark out. Every single person was having the time of their lives and kept raving about our band throughout the night and even still, months later. They were professional, communicative and responsive leading up to our big event. And, day of, they absolutely rocked it! I’m so glad we chose to move forward with Sugar and we can’t imagine our day without them. We chanted “one more song!!!” At the end of the night, and then played one last final song for us before we were Forced to close down the place. By the end of the night, it looked like we were all at a concert with our favorite band. I can’t say enough!!!! You will not regret booking them and look no further :) I wish we could do it all over again!!

The highlight of our wedding

Working with Sugar was one of the best experiences of our wedding planning. Marcy was incredibly responsive and easy to work with, we used them for the ceremony (a classical guitarist), trio for cocktails, and the full band (we added an extra horn) for the reception. All three pieces were highlights of the wedding, and we highly recommend, but Sugar as a full band was way, way, way above what we’d even hoped for. From their opening they had our crowd out and dancing, brought so much energy to the evening and left everyone wanting more. They nailed our two special request songs (which were offered as part of their quote): Lizzo and Robyn. The songs were executed tightly and sounded like they’d been part of their (extensive) songlist for years. If Sugar happens to be available for your wedding... don’t waste time, book them and thank us later.

September Wedding

SUGAR was hands down the best band and I am so glad I chose them for my wedding! Marcy was so responsive to emails and was so easy to work with. The dance floor was always packed when they were performing. My guests had a wonderful time and were raving about how good the band was. The BEST Wedding Band!

We were lucky enough to get Sugar for our wedding band and were lucky that they became available on our wedding date. We booked them without seeing them previously perform, based on a recommendation from a friend and seeing all of the great reviews. They were one of the best parts of our wedding! They were flexible in accommodating our song requests, adding music for our ceremony, and feeling the crowd out to keep everyone dancing. Their music appealed to both the younger and older crowd, which meant the dance floor was packed at our wedding and everyone seemed to be having a great time. I would highly recommend them for any wedding or event!

We could not have been any happier with our decision to have Sugar as our wedding band. They are the best. After seeing them perform for the first time years ago, we knew immediately we’d want them at our wedding – long before even being engaged! We were ecstatic to learn they were available for our day. Coordinating with Marcy was exceptionally easy – the band couldn’t have been more professional, reliable and an absolute joy to work with. They’re unbelievably talented and cover every genre in the book. They know how to keep the party going - there wasn’t one song the entire night that the dance floor wasn’t full. Our family and friends still rave about the amazing time they had at our wedding dancing the night away thanks to Sugar. If they weren’t Sugar fans before our wedding, they are now! We couldn’t have been happier with our decision to hire Sugar for our wedding. We were fortunate to be planning a wedding 14 months in advance and were thrilled that Sugar was available. They were easy to work with, listened to our concerns about music and volume that would appeal to guests in a wide age range and delivered on our every expectation. We’ve heard numerous comments from our guests about how much they loved the band. We asked them to learn two songs for us, one for the father daughter dance and one that my husband really likes, and they knocked it out of the park. We’re looking forward to the next time we’ll be up in New England so we can catch them at the Newport Blues Cafe or one of the other places they play.

As a wedding planner and coordinator, I had the opportunity and pleasure to work alongside Sugar for one of my client's wedding. What a GREAT band! Leading up to the wedding, Izzy and Marcy were both very responsive in communicating about the timeline. Then, on the day-of the wedding, they were on time, efficient and courteous during their set-up, they were high-energy and kept the dance floor full the entire evening! One of the VERY best bands I've worked with in all my years. Can't wait to work with them again. I will be recommending them with 5 STARS!

Hiring Sugar was probably the best decision we made throughout this whole wedding planning process! Our venue told us about Sugar and that weekend we want to Block Island to listen to them and we booked them just a couple days later! Their interaction with the crowd was what really sold us. They played both oldies and newer songs and put their own twist on them. They just seemed so happy to be there performing for everyone! Marcy was always so responsive to my emails and they were very flexible wit our requests. In addition to their long song list, we were able to request two additional songs that they would learn to play at our wedding. All of our guests had so much fun dancing and singing along to Sugar. I wish I could hire them for every single party I throw in the future! I highly recommend them for any event!!

We had Sugar for our wedding and I cannot say enough great things about them! They were always very responsive with answers to questions, agreeable to plays songs we requested and knocked it out of the park the evening of the wedding. From the very first song to the last, people were dancing and could not get enough of them. We have become huge fans of their's and now follow them around where they are playing. Cheers!

Our top priorities when planning our wedding were band, booze, and food. We wanted to have a party. We were able to get the booze/food part secured through our venue, so when looking for a band, we knew we had to find a group that would get our guests on their feet and dancing the entire night.

We had seen Sugar perform many times throughout the years in Block Island, and knew that they were the band for us. Once we found out they were available to travel to Tarrytown, NY on our date - we got excited, and for good reason. Throughout the (extremely stressful) wedding planning process, Marcy and Izzy went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, and answer all of our many questions/requests (we had a lot).

The sound and professionalism they brought the night-of was incredible. We had them play during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. We also added the extra horn section (trust me...worth every penny). EVERYONE was on the dance floor the entire night - from the youngest cousin to the oldest grandparent.

Sugar truly made our night special, different, and fun, and we thank them very much for that. We would highly recommend them to anyone.

While planing our wedding, our main priority was entertainment, as soon as we got engaged we knew right away we wanted Sugar Band! We actually picked a wedding date based on Sugars availability. We had seen them so many times and they never disappointed. Their high energy gets the crowd up and dancing all night long.

Marcy was wonderful to work with leading up to the wedding. She put me at ease, was very organized and accommodating to our high demands. We had the 8-piece band for our 6 hour reception.

On our wedding day Sugars enthusiasm and talent really showed. They did a phenomenal job at reading the crowd and were able to know what song to play next to keep everyone dancing, while also taking into account the songs my groom and I loved. After our last song of the night our guests were chanting “one more song!”

All of our guests who knew of Sugar were excited for their performance and guests who didn’t know who they were, did after our wedding and some went on to become Sugar groupies! All of our guests still talk about how much fun they had at our wedding.

Sugar is the perfect band for a mixed crowd because they can play a little bit of everything! Our wedding was such a fun time and Sugar played a huge role in our happy memories. If you are looking for a talented, high energy band with a huge song list then, I highly recommend Sugar! They will turn your wedding reception into the best dance party of your life.

My husband and I have seen Sugar perform numerous times and decided long before we were engaged that we didn't just want them, we needed them at our wedding. When the time came to look for venues we based our search around Sugar's availability. Luckily the starts aligned and we booked them for our September 2016 wedding at Jonathan Edwards Winery. Marcy made the pre wedding process so easy and was always responsive to our emails. Fast forward to our wedding day. Sugar ROCKED!! We new we were in for a special night when after our first dance all 200 of our guests flooded the dance floor for the next song. Seriously, everyone was on the dance floor and it continued that way until the end of the night when everyone started chanting, "one more song, one more song". Our guests are still raving about our band over a month later. Our wedding wouldn't have been the same without Sugar! Book them! You won't regret it.

We had first heard of Sugar through a friend that had heard them perform at a local bar. After some research and looking at the reviews, we went to the Wind Jammer to hear them play. They were AMAZING and had the whole bar up and dancing the whole night. We chatted with Izzy and Marcy after the show and were convinced that night that they would be perfect for the wedding. Working with them through contract negotiations, song choices, and logistics was made pretty easy by how responsive Marcy is. That night, they were the one thing that truly made our wedding. Everyone can't stop talking about how amazing they were and the dance floor was so packed all night people were dancing on the carpet. We can't thank them enough for making our night the best!!

We had Sugar perform at our wedding this past June and they did not disappoint. We still get compliments from our family and friends! They have such a great combination of both new music and oldies that really got everyone out of their chairs. This band really made our reception come alive! We highly recommend them and continue to see them perform when they are local.

My wedding would not have been what it was without SUGAR. I first heard of them when a friend asked me to check them out for her own wedding.... But we soon realized that this was the band for us! Fast forward to our wedding on block island at the spring house... And it was magical. Everyone couldn't stop talking about how amazing our band was! The best part was... I never gave SUGAR a full list of songs. We gave them a few songs that would be nice to hear and then an overview of what we didn't want our music to be like. I told Marcy to feel out the crowd and do what they do best! Not a single person was sitting. We danced from 8pm-midnight, it was truly magical, I would recommend everyone to have SUGAR at their wedding/event!!! I wish I could do my wedding over again just to relive that night!!! Hands down, SUGAR is what you need to make your wedding what it should be. Inquire with them!! Have fun!!

Sugar is the BEST band ever!!! Our wedding guests never sat down. They all asked where the band was from and wanted them to do an event for them. Our photographer had Sugar at their wedding 10 years ago and she told me that they were awesome then and at other weddings she had done in the past. We did not need another review we were sold. You will not be disappointed you will be ecstatic . Hire them for your wedding or next event!

Sugar is the best band in the area, hands down! They have a huge repertoire from oldies to current music and they are just soooo good! You have options with the number of players (and therefore $$) and the songs you want them to play as well as for how long. I arranged my entire wedding around Sugar's availability because I absolutely had to have them. Everyone has been talking about the band ever since the big day and the experience from my initial conversation with Marcy was top notch, no complaints. So easy to work with and so professional. Cannot say enough good things. If you want a good band you need Sugar!

BOOK! Amazing... made my wedding perfect. Everyone was on the dance floor- my friends, my parents' friends, everyone. Guests have still been talking about the band, weeks later, saying that it is the best band they have ever heard at a wedding. Compliments all around. They were also very reliable and accommodating, when we needed them to learn our wedding song that they did not already know. And another special song for my parents (for the Mezinka, a Jewish tradition)... just gave them the sheet music and they performed it perfectly. Sugar is Amazing!

One word: WOW. They made the wedding. Totally beyond anything I was expecting. It's true you get what you pay for, and if you want a memorable, and more importantly FUN wedding for a bunch of people that love to dance, I don't think you can go wrong with Sugar. They are better than many of the bands I looked at from NYC and Boston, and you won't regret hiring them! I could keep going, and going, and going (like our guests on the dance floor....) but I'm going to just tell you to STOP LOOKING because you've found the band for your wedding!

Sugar is absolutely amazing!! When we first got engaged, we saw a few Sugar band members play at Red 36 in Mystic. We immediately fell in love and knew we wanted them to play at our wedding. And in our search for wedding venues and dates, we were only interested in dates that we knew Sugar was available to play. We also saw the whole band at Esker Point this past summer and they were great then too. We decided on a Thursday wedding, which is a bit odd but it was a small wedding and Sugar was amazing!! Our guests raved all night, and still rave months later. They learned our first dance song and played all our requests. I don't even think they took a break all night! They made our small wedding feel bigger because everyone was dancing. Absolutely fantastic and talented group of people. Everyone was so sweet (and they are all stunning too by the way). By far, Sugar was one of the best parts of our wedding and we can't wait to see them again!

Sugar is THE best band in the area. They have amazing energy, song list, voices, instrumentals etc etc etc

They also play music in the background during cocktails and were the MC for our reception. They worked seamlessly with our vendors and made sure the flow of the evening was smooth.

Their song list is robust - they have songs from all genres and for all ages. Their voices are incredibly powerful. I did not get enough time on the dance floor!

Marcy was easy to work with and coordinate all the details with. They are flexible and even learned songs for us!

I highly recommend Sugar for your wedding - they change the vibe and energy of the night :)

MY husband and I had seen Sugar on a number of occasions while we were dating and just engaged. We always had a great night out when they were playing. We were hopeful our guests would love them but Sugar truly blew EVERYONE away with a great night of music and dancing. Marcy and team were so patience and accommodating during our wedding planning. We bounced song after song off them and they were open to all ideas. They actually learned our first dance song just for us making the night even more special. We had the acoustic trio perform at cocktails followed by the full band at the reception. Marcy did a great job MC'ing and rolled with an ever-changing itinerary. Even almost 6 months later people compliment us on having the best wedding band they'd ever seen. We simply cannot recommend this crew enough, professional, entertaining, modern (is it wrong to say gorgeous too?!) Sugar is the whole package!

Sugar is an AMAZING wedding band. The singers are all out of this world and they play great music. My dance floor was packed at my wedding. They are also really easy to work with, responding to emails quickly and accommodating any special requests. Also, this may seem silly, but my parents were concerned about how loud the room would be, and they were the perfect volume. People on the dance floor were having a blast, while people at the bar could carry a conversation without yelling.

Sugar is AWESOME. We had seen them many times at the Spring House where they play in the summer and knew that they would be the perfect band to help us celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary with friends and family. They are not cheap, but worth every penny. Marci was great to work with, managing the band and the lead singer. You need to reserve early as these guys are popular. They will work with you to customize your song list and be flexible to whatever your favorite songs are/needs are. I can't recommend them enough. Everyone is still talking about the party and the amazing band.

If you are planning to have a party on Block Island, I would highly recommend renting a house for the band as it is a lot cheaper than getting 9 hotel rooms.

Our wedding guests are still talking about how amazing SUGAR was at our wedding in September! They were so helpful through the entire planning process, and answered of all of my questions and gave great advice with the timing, setup, specific songs etc. At our reception, SUGAR created the most fun atmosphere, where guests of all ages (and dancing abilities!) felt comfortable and excited to dance. They started out with an instrumental jazz ensemble for our cocktail hour, creating an elegant and relaxing mood, and came out with a bang after dinner for dancing! SUGAR kept everyone on the dance floor until the very end of the night, and our guests enjoyed every minute of it! The members of SUGAR are all so amazingly talented, and we are in awe of their individual performances, and the band as a whole. We can't thank them enough for helping to make our wedding so incredibly special, and we look forward to attending one their local shows very soon!

Besides being a talented band, they were willing to work with some challenges to provide music on the beach. (E.g., there was no direct road to the site; there was inadequate power and we therefore required a generator which they arranged).
They played the genre of music we requested as their playlist is very extensive.
They are an excellent band and they were very easy to work with.

The choice in music was the most important part to our wedding. We knew that we wanted a band and after seeing SUGAR, we knew that they would deliver everything that we were looking for. They cover all eras of music which had everyone, including our 80 year old grandparents, out on the dance floor. From the moment that they started playing until the last note of the night, all guests were on the dance floor. Even a year after our wedding, our guests still talk about how wonderful the band was.

Marcy and Izzy were very easy to work with through the whole planning process and helped us every step of the way with our song selection. They were very professional in all aspects, from the planning to the night of our wedding.

SUGAR performed at our wedding in Westerly, RI a couple of months ago, and we could not be happier about our decision to hire them. We used their solo guitarist, Eddie, for our ceremony on the beach, the jazz trio for our cocktail hour, and SUGAR's 8 piece band for our reception. All were fabulous!

Not only is SUGAR an extremely talented band, they are a pleasure to work with. The band contact, Marcy, was incredibly responsive and accommodating throughout the booking process and during the months and weeks leading up to our wedding. We chose a playlist of songs beforehand (SUGAR has an extensive and diverse song list), and SUGAR played exactly what we wanted to hear all night! Also, when our speeches/toasts ran a little long at the reception, SUGAR played through one of their scheduled breaks to make up for time lost!

Our family and friends were on the dance floor the entire night - SUGAR really helped set the tone for our wedding. The band members are lively, fun, and amazing artists, and they do all genres extremely well. SUGAR truly made our wedding a night to remember...our guests - young and old - were raving about them. I cannot say enough good things about this band. AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING! We first saw SUGAR at a wine festival a few years ago that they play at every year. Before I was even engaged I said, "I want this band to play at my wedding!" They are very professional and extremely talented!!

From the moment they started playing, everyone was up dancing! At the end of the night everyone was chanting for them to play "One more song!!"

If you are thinking of having a wedding band, Sugar is the absolute best choice. Sugar was absolutely incredible. In fact, a lot of our wedding guests sent us emails about how they were the best band they'd ever heard play at a wedding!! We can not put into words just how grateful we are to them for providing us with such a wonderful party. When we began talking about our wedding, the main thing we wanted was a big celebration with lots of music and dancing -- Sugar completely created that for us.

If you've already seen Sugar play locally, you probably don't need any encouragement. For those who haven't seen them, this isn't just another wedding band. These are fantastic musicians playing phenomenal arrangements to perfection. The energy they bring is unbelievable. Our wedding had about 170 guests, and Sugar kept them dancing and having fun the entire night. We've gotten a lot of "best wedding I've ever been to" comments from our friends, and inevitably "your wedding band was amazing/awesome/the best ever" is the next thing they say. This band…. There are no words to describe how insanely talented these people are. I had a very diverse crowd at my wedding- older family members, my parents coworkers, my younger friends, but everyone, EVERYONE got up and danced when Sugar started playing. Seriously, the whole wedding rushed the dancefloor when it opened up for everybody, and it stayed full until they had to kick us out. Yep, they turned my wedding reception into an all-ages dance party and it was AWESOME. For days and weeks afterwards, family friends, coworkers, out of town family members were contacting us to rave about how wonderful the music was and how they haven't danced that much in years. My biggest fear was that the wedding wouldn't be as fun for the guest as it would be for me, but Sugar took care of that and we all had a blast. Sugar had a great set list and a remarkable range. Marcy also did a great job emceeing for us and working with a surprise guest (a mermaid!) They are on the pricier side but that is because they are completely, amazingly, (maybe magically?) talented. The band was very easy to coordinate and communicate with. They were absolutely fantastic.

Sugar provided all the musical entertainment for my wedding, and to say they were amazing is an understatement! We had a guitarist for the ceremony, jazz trio for the cocktail hour and dinner, and then the eight piece band for the rest of the night. My guests are still raving about how much fun they had. It was also very telling when those guests whom we thought would leave early stayed until the very end, and they were even out on the dance floor most of the night. If you want your guests to have the most amazing and fun time at your wedding, hire Sugar. They're worth every penny!
