Perfect for our small wedding!

We originally weren't planning to have any sort of cake at our wedding because we opted for small desserts, but Karen from Old Glory Ranch (our venue) recommended Sugar Shack Bakery for a "baby cake" to cut. This 5-inch cake was perfect for us and was completely customized from a list sent to you on your choice of cake, filling, and frosting. JoAnna was friendly and was able to get our order put in less than a week in advance, and we love the cake!

Gluten Free Dessert Bar

We had the most delicious desserts at our wedding consisting of several different types of mini cheesecakes and decorative pies! ALL GLUTEN FREE. I was in heaven. My husband and I went back during our honeymoon in Wimberley for some sweets, and I will be going back to visit for more tasty treats in the future.

Yummy and has lots of options!

We had a 6 inch cake for us and had a variety of flavored cupcakes for guests, including gluten free flavors. They were so yummy, my hubby and I took a to-go box of some on our honeymoon. So moist and yummy, even for week after the event!

Wimberley, TX served as a destination wedding site for us therefore we weren't familiar with the local businesses. Boy, did we luck out with Sugar Shack! The cake selection was deep and wide, the level of professionalism balanced well with the small business feel but most importantly the cake was beautiful and delicious. It rivaled anything we would have shipped in from "the city". Thank you, Sugar Shake, for adding sparkle to our special day with a gorgeous wedding cake and stellar service. Monica was able to create exactly what we envisioned for our wedding cake and cupcakes! They were not only beautifully decorated but had amazing flavor!! We needed some gluten free cupcakes too, and my goodness they were wonderful!!

The Sugar Shack Bakery produced exactly what I asked for from miles away!! The only communication after stopping in for breakfast one day was through emailed photo ideas and phone calls, and they nailed it! They created 5 beautiful cakes for us that we loved and matched the theme of the wedding perfectly!

Sugar Shack Bakery provided all of the desserts for our dessert buffet at our wedding, and they ALL went over SO WELL. We had a medley of pound cakes, texas whiskey cake, lemon bars, brownies and three types of cookies (the sugar cookies were decorated in our wedding colors and looked gorgeous). They are so reasonably priced and a pleasure to work with. But most of all.....DELICIOUS!

Sugar Shack Bakery was our number one choice when we were looking for our Wedding and Grooms cakes. We each had very specific ideas of what we wanted and how we wanted it to come out. They met, and exceeded our expectations. As the bride, I was looking for a cake that was bare of most frosting and primarily covered with fresh fruit. They did a great job, and it was exactly what I saw in my head. My groom created a comic book cake with almost no fondant just as he dreamed it. Overall we were thrilled. Our cake was so good we only had 9 pieces of the groom's cake left when the wedding ended! Folks loved the taste as did we! They are a sweet choice if you are looking for a bakery!

Truly beautiful cake. We enjoyed looking at it almost as much as we did eating it. The cake ball Texas flag was a huge hit, luckily we were saved a couple because they were gone in a matter of minutes. No complaints at all, very professional but still easy to talk to, gave great feedback and made what we thought was kind of a wild idea into a tasty reality.

Sugar Shack did an exceptional job with our cakes! We originally planned to have only a wedding cake, but I decided a few months prior to the wedding to surprise my husband with a grooms cake. She worked with us on pricing to make sure it fit our budget and was flexible to add the grooms cake. On the day of the wedding, I was amazed at how beautiful the cakes turned out. She was on time and did a great job with decorating as I requested. I would highly recommend working with this Bakery!

We were very pleased with the outcome of our wedding cake! The design was just what we wanted (2 tier, square, with a few succulents and texted white frosting). The taste of the cake flavors and filling we chose were incredible! I could not get enough of the traditional wedding cake (almond flavor) with lemon and blueberry filling between the two layers. So good!! The chocolate with raspberry filling was also delicious! The succulents were from our florist and arranged very nicely. The option tree stump cake plate also fit really well with our overall theme. I would highly recommend sugar shake bakery for any special occasion or just to treat yourself!

The Sugar Shack in Wimberley was one of the recommended bakerys given to us by Old Glory Ranch. We found the staff to be talented, accommodating and professional with no unwelcomed surprises. Not only was the wedding cake fabulous, we also opted for a gluten-free sheet cake that delighted the guests with this dietary need.

Thank you Sugar Shack for creating such a sophisticated cake that was also delicious. The Raspberry filling was a big hit.

Sugar Shack Bakery made a small, two-tier cake for my wedding and it turned out beautifully! Monica was very easy to work with and responsive. We live out of state, but stopped by the bakery when we were in the area and did a cupcake tasting that we took to-go. (We also grabbed some other baked goods and they were delicious!) Although I only ate the piece that my husband fed me for the photos at the wedding, I was very happy with the flavor. As for the decoration, I sent her several pictures of simple designs that I liked and she did exactly what I wanted – lined texture around the bottom tier and white dots all over the top tier. It was adorable! We’ll definitely stop by there next time we’re in the area.

AMAZING!!! As most brides, I had envisioned what I wanted our cakes to look like, but what Monica did with those ideas just blew everyone away. The grooms cake looked just like a drum of his and he was completely surprised. 2 weeks later and everyone is still talking about how great everything tasted. Everything was almost too pretty to eat :)

Monica was so sweet and easy to work with. We had such a great time during the cake tasting and she made the entire process so much fun. We ordered 175 cupcakes instead of a traditional cake. Everyone loved all the flavors we had available. (5 different flavors)

While I did not deal with Sugar Shack directly, all I can base them on is their final product. Which let me assure you, was OUTSTANDING! My family handled taking care of getting all of this sorted out, but I heard nothing but good things. I know they were on a pretty tight timeline given that we decided to have the cake made pretty last minute. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted but I had a few pictures for ideas. They were able to take all of those and turn them into an outstanding cake. I hope that everyone can have a vision for their wedding cake and have it seen through by Sugar Shack like they did for me!

I would recommend this place all day long to anyone needing a cake, or pies for that matter, for any occasion. They are very knowledgeable and accommodating. I wanted a cake that wasn’t too decorative on the outside, I wanted just a little something so it wasn’t just a white cake. Man did they deliver! Gold was a color used a lot in my décor so they dusted the top of each tier is a gold dust/glitter that looked amazing!!! It was exactly what I was looking for! On top of that, the inside of the cake was anything but simple :) I love lemon so they did a lemon cake for a wedding (not your standard wedding cake flavor :) ) but used a different filling in each tier to spice it up. Everyone loved the cake and everyone was sharing with each other to taste the 3 different varieties: blueberry, raspberry, and lemon custard. Amazing people and AMAZING cakes!!!

Sugar Shack Bakery was awesome!!! The cake that I tasted at my tasting was the same quality of cake that showed up to my reception!!! I loved Sugar Shack Bakery!! Their cake is amazing and was just as good on our wedding day as it was the day of the cake testing! The look was everything that we had asked for and the cake balls turned out amazing! I am looking forward to ordering a small cake from them again for our one year wedding anniversary! So GOOD!

Sugar Shack was great! There were many things I had trouble making a decision on, but they were very flexible and patient. I could email them as often and any time I needed and they were very quick with their response. The cake was delivered and set up wonderfully. It was absolutely delicious!! Not only does Monica make a beautiful cake, but they are delicious! I have had so many dry, tasteless wedding cakes in my life, and was very impressed when I visited the Sugar Shack for our sampling. All of our guests raved about the beauty and taste of our cakes. We have decided to return every year for a special anniversary cake to enjoy

Sugar Shack was amazing for me every step of the way. I suggest going in for a cake tasting and asking for recommendations based upon flavors you know you like. I did a brides cake, grooms cake, and three dozen cupcakes for my Texas Hill Country wedding and couldn't be happier with all aspects of the process and end result. I highly recommend this business as I am a picky woman.

My husband and I had a great tasting experience and found the staff to be really professional and helpful. We opted for cupcakes in various flavors and also ordered a small round cake for us to cut and serve. We picked up the order ourselves and really appreciated the care they took in packaging everything to ensure smooth transport to the venue. The cakes were soooooo delicious and our guests really liked having variety. I absolutely recommend Sugar Shack Bakery to those with dessert/catering needs in the future.

Peggy and her team are amazing!!

They did the brides cake and the grooms cake and both turn out PERFECT.
They were able to deliver the cake the day of and all communication during the preparation leading to the wedding was nothing less than professional.

The Sugar Shack Bakery did an amazing job on the cupcakes for my wedding reception! Not only did they offer a large variety of flavors (So that everyone could have what they wanted) they also offered to deliver the cupcakes and set them up before the ceremony so that we didn't have to worry about it. I reached out to them several times during the planning process and was always contacted right away with the answer to any question I had.

Overall, the cupcakes were delicious and the service was exceptional. I would recommend the Sugar Shack Bakery to anyone who asked. Great people and great cakes!

The Sugar Shack Bakery took time to help create the perfect individualized cake for my wedding. We didn't want two cakes, so we decided that the middle layer of the three layer cake would be chocolate and would represent the Grooms portion of the cake. Everyone at the wedding LOVED the chocolate cake and thought it was very original and practical.

It was a pleasure to work with the Sugar Shack for my daughter's wedding. The cakes were beautiful and tasted amazing. Our guests raved about cakes and icing. They also accomidated our request for heart shaped cookies iced with monogram that were individually gift wrapped for each place setting at the tables. They were beautiful and delicious!

Peggy is so sweet!! Our cakes were amazing!! Mine was a vanilla cake with almond flavoring and almond cream cheese icing, and my husbands cake was double chocolate with chocolate cream cheese icing!! I LOVED working with the lovely folks at How Sweet It Is! I was having to plan my wedding from 4 hours away. This could have been really stressful if I hadn't had such AMAZING vendors! I have heard nothing but RAVE reviews from my guests about the cakes. We had three cakes (and some pies from Wimberley Pie Company) and the Chocolate sour cream cake was to DIE for. My hubby is already talking about going back to Wimberley just to get another cake so we can each have a whole piece. ;0) Thank you amazing ladies for being fabulous!

Although the cakes didn't turn out exactly as we had planned they came back out and did everything they could to try and satisfy us. Great customer service and they did it all with a smile. Cakes tasted great and were a great value. We had three of the naked cakes in different flavors and there was some confusion on how they were supposed to look. In the end, everything worked out great.

We ordered a cake, cupcakes, and pies for our wedding. The cupcakes and pie were a huge hit!! The cake was a teeny bit dry, but it was a later wedding and outside. There were sections that were still delicious. Overall, everything looked perfect! Guest were delighted by the variety of deserts offered.

We did a desert table for 120 people and everything was a hit! My wedding cake was the best and the cupcakes and cake balls were amazing! My favorite part was how well decorated all the desserts were just like I asked! My cake table was also set up very well with all the cake plates I set out the night before. Loved sugar shack and would recommend them to everyone!

My wife and I visit Wimberley at least once a year, and we fell in love with the cakes at Sugar Shack. They are seriously the most delicious we have ever tasted, and we couldn't wait for everyone to get to enjoy them. There are cheaper options to be had, but for beautifully decorated and delicious cake, sugar shack is hard to beat!

The price, service, and most importantly the cake was all excellent. The carrot cake is the best we've had. Custom requests should be thoroughly drawn out/explained, especially if made last-minute, but this ought to be expected and should not be weighted much against the overall value of the Sugar Shack. They were very helpful and we loved the tasting that was scheduled for us, surely a highlight of the wedding planning process.

We have always loved coming to Wimberley and getting breakfast and sweet treats from Sugar Shack so it was an easy decision who to use for our wedding. We only did cupcakes and cakeballs and if it tells you anything, there were only two cupcakes left at the end of the night! Some of my friends said they had 3 cupcakes and wanted more. It's really nice that you can choose any mixture of flavors and amount you want. We had a really good variety for people to choose from and everyone couldn't stop talking about how good they were. I think the price was very fair and they used my cupcake wrappers that I bought from Amazin and set everything up at the wedding as well. It was nice not to have to worry about the setup and there was no takedown because there was nothing left!

our three wedding cakes were absolutely beautiful, Monica and Sugar Shack Bakery did a fantastic job! The cakes were exactly as we wanted, delivered to the Plant at Kyle in time (and safe!), delicious and fresh, and simply gorgeous. We had a "naked cake," a rosette cake, and a textured cake - each one was special and tasty. I am so pleased to have had the Sugar Shack Bakery to cater our cakes for our wedding. All we had to do was send them in our pictures and do a little cake testing and that was it! They had our cakes perfect and on time on the day of our wedding! They were so beautiful and the taste was amazing. The only thing I would have changed would be that they left us with a "take home" box. Other than that it was perfect!!

We worked with SugarShack for our wedding cake. We initially weren't interested in a cake, but after my mom ordered an armadillo cake for our engagement party that was one of the best cakes I've ever had, we changed our mind. We went with a very plain white icing cake, and armadillo toppers. Working with Sugar Shack was great. While I have to say the engagement cake tasted better, the cake was gorgeous and the toppers were just perfect.

Overall good experience. Had a difficult time speaking with cake decorator by phone but quick response to emails. Good price. Got a tasting to go for a small price (?$10) since the bakery was busy the day I wanted a tasting but there were descriptions about the cake options. Monica was awesome! Very friendly and hospitable. She was very willing and happy to bake a bridal and groom's cake for my wedding on Christmas eve! Also, she was extremely responsive and available. The red velvet I chose was delicious and the triple chocolate is a MUST! Sugar Shack is such a gem!

Their cakes are wonderful. I was very upset that the "real strawberries filling" was so minimal that most guests later told me they thought it was just pure icing filling. I didn't taste the strawberries or see but one or two per piece and from what I'm told from my friends later, they did not either. When you pay extra for "real strawberries"... it is with the expectation of having just that. Not sure why the rationing but it was very disappointing. Looks like I just got white on white cake. Not what I wanted. Again, their cakes are awesome. Clearly just disappointing on the filling issue.

Sugar Shack Bakery provided cupcakes for our wedding. The ladies were great to work with and they did a great job setting up the day of the wedding. It was nice to not have to worry about getting this organized myself. The cupcakes were slightly dry by the time we had them, but they had been sitting there for about 4 hours. I am happy with my choice! I think they provided a great service for the price!

The cake was delicious and the owner was so kind upon us doing our cake tasting. She was willing to work with us on our budget and gave us options we loved. We never felt rushed. My Mom was the main person in contact with the bakery but had issues getting a hold of someone so that she could pay for the cake. She called several times and wasn't able to get a hold of someone to figure out the best time to go.
Other that that, we loved working with Sugar Shack for our wedding!

We had heard such great things about Sugar Shack that it pains me to write this review. From the very beginning things were rocky. We had an appointment for a tasting and when we showed up, the woman we were supposed to meet with wasn't there. She had forgotten about us and didn't tell the other staff. So we ended up having to wait for her to rush over, and had a very impromptu tasting. We were a bit irritated right off the bat, but the taste of their cakes made up for that in a hurry. We showed them a picture of the cake we envisioned, which depicted a worn, leathery brown/yellow baseball. We were assured it would be no problem to replicate this cake.

I don't know where the communication breakdown happened, but when we first saw the cake (walking over to cut it during our reception), I almost lost it. The cake definitely looked like a baseball - but bright white. It looked like a 10 year old's birthday cake. We were so extremely disappointed. The flavor, once again, was astoundingly good. The design however was way off the mark.

When we got home the next day, the first thing I did was email Sugar Shack and ask what happened - and it's now been 10 days and I have not received a response. I sadly cannot recommend Sugar Shack to do any custom work for you. Their cakes taste fantastic, but the customer service and design aspect were highly lacking.

price we ended up paying was different then what was quoted at tasting. Didn't get my cake stand for wedding cake, may have been miscommunication on our end? Not sure. Groom cake was good very moist..
