I knew the wedding cake for my son's wedding was going to be good, but WOW! It was one of the best cakes I have ever had. The cake was a butter flavor with a Bavarian crème filling and buttercream icing. From the cake tasting to the delivery on the day of the wedding, Vilma and George were extremely professional and you could tell that they wanted to make your special day even better with their delectable creation. Working with Vilma through the process was like having a close friend make our cake. I am already looking forward to having a piece of the first anniversary cake they will be making for my son and daughter-in-law!

We were referred to Sugar Hill Cakes by our wedding planner. It was the best cake tasting experience and cake service for our wedding. I enjoyed working with Vilma from the start. She took my (semi-crazy) idea and confidently ran with it. The cake tasting was the most enjoyable part of wedding planning. One of my Best Decisions in Wedding Planning
One of the best decisions I made when planning my wedding was to choose Sugar Hill Cakes for my wedding and groom's cakes. They're communication was excellent, they delivered from Buford, GA to Glen Ella Springs in Clarksville, GA. Not only were both cakes beautiful, they were absolutely delicious. There were numerous guests who said this cake was the best wedding cake they had ever tasted. I had a four tier wedding cake and a two tier grooms cake and both arrived perfectly to the wedding venue. The wedding cake was still delicious one year later on our one year anniversary. Our family continues to order cakes from Sugar Hill for family celebrations. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this vendor!

Due to the pandemic, it has been a difficult season all around, especially for small businesses in the wedding industry. We are so thankful for Vilma and George at Sugar Hill Cakes for their flexibility, hard work, and genuine care that they poured into giving us such an amazing wedding cake! They had quick response times and great communication, which was very helpful during the planning process. We loved how they offer a wide variety of awesome flavors and unique designs. Also, we were very impressed by their professionalism – On our wedding day, they delivered and set up our cake early. Everything was perfect, even better than what we envisioned. The design held up all evening and the cake was beautiful and delicious! They even went above and beyond to give us a complimentary gluten-free cake for our family members who could not eat the main cake. We really appreciated their thoughtfulness. Our guests constantly tell us how our cake was one of the best wedding cakes they have ever had! It was wonderful to work with Ms Vilma & Mr George! They both were very accommodating during the planning process. We were planning the wedding during COVID which could have been difficult, but they both made the process easy & safe. The cakes were amazing! We couldn’t decide on the flavors we tasted, so we got them all! We had red velvet, lemon, strawberry champagne, almond wedding & marble. All were so good & moist. It melts in your mouth good! I would highly recommend Sugar Hill Cakes!!!

I loved coordinating the cake design and final decisions with Vilma. She is VERY personable and makes you feel like you’re placing an order with someone who already knows you and has a vested interest in your wedding. The cake looked phenomenal and tasted sooo good! All parts of my experience with Sugarhill Bakery were exceptional! The cake tasting was the best one we went to! Vilma had all her flavors available to try and they are ALL so delicious! We chose to make each tier a different flavor! She spends all the time you need to design the perfect cake! Questions were always answered fast through email/weddingwire or phone! The flowers on her cakes are gorgeous and she has mastered making the butter cream on the outside look so smooth that it has the look of fondant but with the better taste of real icing! This was by far the least stressful vendor we had which made wedding planning easier! Cannot recommend Sugarhill bakery more!

My experience with Sugar Hill Cakes was wonderful. Velma was very informative about the styles of cakes, the flavors and the different fillings. My daughter and her fiance decided on a square 3 tier wedding cake with raspberry and lemon fillings. The cake was moist and delicious. The Bride wanted to surprise the Groom, so we also ordered a groom's cake with an outdoor backdrop and added a King of the Hill figure on top that my daughter had purchased. My daughter just ordered their one year anniversary cake!

There are many great cake decorators but the decorations are only the beginning. A truly great cake has to taste even been than it looks. Sugar Hill Cakes makes the best cakes I've ever had in my life. And that's saying a lot with the grandmother I grew up with. I've never had cake that tastes like a Sugar Hill Cake. We shared our idea with Mrs. Vilma and she brought our ideas to life. Not only did we get something better than we were imagining, we also got a cake that tasted amazing! I was very sad when I learned the top tier of our cake was cut up at our wedding therefore my husband and I weren't going to experience the tradition of eating our cake a year later. On our first anniversary, my husband surprised me with a replica of our top cake tier. He had contacted Vilma and, being the sweet and amazing woman she is, she made this for us free of charge. Amazing experience from start to finish. We will be using Sugarhill Cakes for every occasion to come.

Vilma is hands down one of the sweetest people I've ever met. I went into the cake process not really caring about having a special cake or anything, but after meeting her and working to design a cake together, I left super excited to see what our cake would look like! Vilma told me that she puts all her love into everything that she does and I tell ya - it really shows! The cake was absolutely BEAUTIFUL, just like she promised. Our initial design was going to include ribbon. However, after not liking the kind she found, Vilma was honest with me on how she doesn't think this will look right. So we put our heads together and came up with an alternate design that was actually probably more beautiful than the original would've been anyway! All flowers on my cake were edible sugar flowers and, just as importantly, everything tasted great! We went with alternating layers of vanilla bean and french vanilla (my husband doesn't eat chocolate). We used her homemade strawberry and raspberry fillings, also alternating. Not only have we received compliments on how beautiful the cake looked, we've also received compliments of how great it tasted and how it didn't taste like "boring wedding cake". We are so happy that we went with Vilma for our cake. She is just such a sweet woman to work with and delivers top notch results with love.

Vilma and her husband were WONDERFUL! They were so creative and took our abstract ideas and really made them something amazing. We had a short engagement (4 months) but I managed to completely change my colors a month into planning and Vilma's response was simply, "no problem, I will send you a new draft tonight!" And, again, it was perfect!
Since I have a gluten allergy, our grooms cake was gluten free while our wedding cake was gluten-filled and our guests said both tasted delicious. The pictures of us cutting our cake were stunning, the cake and frosting was tasty and the process of designing/ordering the cake was a breeze. Overall, it was the perfect wedding cake scenario - thank you to Vilma for her cakes!!

We had the pleasure of meeting Vilma when we were looking for our wedding cake for our special day 6/10/17. Vilma is awesome at what she does and is extremely willing to deliver exactly what you want. Vilma's cake are not only delicious but they are made from scratch and the taste proves to be superior to all the cakes from the fancy bakeries we visited. Vilma worked with me to create the cake that was in my head and I know that was a challenge. But all of our guests loved each flavor we offered. We used Sugar Hill Cakes to make both our Bridal and Groom’s cake.
Vilma was so amazing! She really did a fantastic job on our cakes. They were both beautiful and so very very delicious! We had so many compliments that I lost count.
We can't say enough good things about her. She is so nice and easy to work with. She really cares and gives the small budget cakes as much time and love as the bigger budget cakes. She was also accommodating to our limited and out of the normal hours schedule. She took her time and listened to us as we tried to express what our actual visions were for each cake. She then followed up and did everything as promised. I never had to check on her or worry if something would go wrong. She delivered and set up both cakes at our wedding venue. I didn't have to do anything. She was very professional.
I have already recommended Vilma & Sugar Hill Cakes to a coworker whom used her for her wedding. She was very happy as well. I will continue to recommend her to anyone that is looking for a caring professional to make that special cake.

She worked with me to review options for my wedding and to make them as affordable as possible. I believe her when she says she truly wants to make her clients' occasions as nice and special as possible.
The only reason I chose a different vendor was because my fiancé preferred donuts to cupcakes along with our wedding cake and Ms. Vilma does not make donuts. Otherwise, I would have used her services and enjoyed more of her kind and friendly spirit. No words can describe how pleased we were with our cake and cupcakes.We had red velvet,vanilla bean, mocha chocolate and lemon and the flavor was amazing. My planner recommended Sugar Hill Cakes as an option for my wedding. When I first met Vilma, I loved her spirit and most importantly her cakes. And to top it all off, the price for what she provides is great!! The day of my cake tasting appointment, she had prepared fresh cakes the night before and the morning of the tasting for me and my guests to sample. They were absolutely delicious!!! I had the hardest time deciding on the flavors as they were all so good. Vilma is so creative and accommodating. She did not have a red velvet sample available on that day so she invited me back for another tasting closer to the wedding to make sure I liked the flavor. While there, she told me about a new vanilla bean flavor she had and I ended up changing one of my layers (I didn’t taste it, I just trusted that if she said it was good then it would be)…and it was AMAZING!! I can’t say enough good things about Vilma. If you are in the market for a baker (for any occasion), I highly recommend Sugar Hill Cakes. You will not be disappointed!!!

Vilma is incredibly talented and super sweet!! Vilma's cakes are beyond delicious! She is knowledgeable and professional and her love for her craft shows through her work. I had found a picture of a cake that I loved. It was extremely technically challenging, but Vilma dominated it!!
The cake required special molds and Vilma tracked them down and ordered them specially for our cake. We had a different flavor for each tier. The trim was gold and the cake was royal purple. It was STUNNING.
Between the consultation and the wedding day, Vilma provided us with sample pictures of the trim and mold to make sure that we were happy. I know she has many clients, but she made us feel like we were her top priority. She was so reasonable with her pricing and worked within our budget.
Vilma always has a smile on her face, she makes you feel at ease. She is not afraid of new or challenging projects and everything she bakes is delicious and filled with love. I cannot thank Vilma enough for her hard work.
To this day, people have been talking about how amazing our cake was!!
I recommend her to everyone!! She helped make my wedding so special and, despite the difficulty of our cake, Vilma never made me feel worried or stressed. Thank you Vilma!!

Vilma is the most caring, and loving baker! She went above and beyond, and even bent backwards for our wedding cake and we absolutely appreciated, loved, was amazed etc... by what she did. Firstly, her consultation is very professional, even though she bakes out of her house. There were 5 different cakes and 10 or so different fillings and frostings to try and we were given lots of options to personalize our cake. Her technical ability when it comes to flowers and other sugar decor is exceptional. She made sugar flowers that looked completely real. One month after booking her, she made us a "mock" cake so that we could see what the color and texture would look like. When we changed the color, she made us another one to confirm. A month before the wedding, we changed the design of one of our tiers. All of this was greeted with a simple "sure, no problem!" by Vilma. Absolutely flexible, price wise and design wise. Absolutely friendly and very talented. Our cake was delivered on time and in one piece. Nothing more could have been asked and nothing more can be said. she is the BEST!

Mrs. Vilma is a perfectionist. If she doesn't like the cake she throws it out to make a new one. They are perfect for her customers. She is very friendly and professional. We are so glad we used her for our wedding cakes!

Let me start by saying I'm glad that everyone else has had exemplary service from Vilma and that they didn't have the nightmare situation that we did. First, we made the long trek to her home after she told us that she didn't have a vehicle and we had to come to her for the tasting and she wasn't particularly flexible with the time even though we had to come to her. The tasting went well as we described what we had in mind and if she felt it was reasonable (a cake for 100, 75 cupcakes, and a grooms cake for 25 ppl) which she agreed to. We were always clear about what we needed and at no point did she say that she could handle the order. We were a month out from the wedding when we confirmed our order (My wife's mother passed during the engagement so we had to put wedding stuff on the back burner). Anyway, the week before the wedding Vilma's husband calls my wife and fusses at her saying we wanted too much (I guess a Fleur De Lis on the cake using a stencil was too much) and his wife can't make the order and that they were cancelling on us. He was extremely unprofessional and flat out rude. My wife wanted to speak with Vilma to thank her for her help and apologize for the misunderstanding but he wouldn't even let my wife speak with her. My wife called me immediately with the story and sounded so devastated and surprised because we are 10 days away from our wedding and they cancel with no previous indication and her husband who we never even communicated with calls my wife and talks down to her. He could have at least called me if we are bringing husbands into it. I called them back because I was furious at how he spoke to my wife and the way in which they handled the situation but of course they didn't answer. That was two years ago this month and though we got passed it, we can't forget one of the worst parts of our wedding preparation. I hope she continues to serve her clients properly, transparently, and completely as it appears she has been since then.
