This is the second event I used Sugar Coated Bakery for any it was just as perfect as the first. The cake was amazing our guests couldn't stop talking about it and it tasted delicious as well. Marisa is the best so easy to work with great suggestions and accommodating. See you at our next event. -

I have used Sugar Coated Bakery for my wifes baby shower and now I went back for my sons 1st birthday party. As always everything went perfect. Marisa is a pleasure to deal with and she does the most amazing work. I will use them for every event that I do and recommend them to all my friends and family. -

What can i say the Cake Design, taste and costumer serice at Sugar Coated Bakery was amazing. I just want to say THANK YOU SOOO MUCH. The cake looked and tasted amazing. It was more than I would have imagined it would turn out. You and your husband were so sweet and courteous throughout the process. From my wife, myself and the entire families we want to thank you for making our baby shower day special with your beautiful cake you made. Thank you again and not only will you be seeing me again for many things but I will recommend you to anyone I know.

I met with Marisa to design my son's first birthday cake and when I got to her shop, it was this adorable, colorful, beautiful bakery. I felt like I was invited for tea in Candy Land. Very fun and friendly as she is. She is sweet and professional and knew exactly what I wanted. She made my experience everlasting. -

Every year, my friends and I have our holiday get together starting at the Sugar Coated Bakery Gingerbread Class. We are all 50+ adults and sometimes our 20Ish daughters too. We all have a great time. Everything is provided for us and when we are done we have a pretty decoration (if it lasts long enough before its eaten). I personally have never had an occasion (yet) to order their beautiful cakes. But I have had occasion to eat them. The quality of their products and the professional, friendly staff will make your occasion one to remember! -

Marisa made my daughter Alyssa's Sweet 16 Cake and sweets (cookies, pretzels, rice crispy, marshmallows and cupcakes). She did an AMAZING job. Me and my husband were browsing through different cake vendors for our wedding and we came across sugar coated. We fell in love with their cake designs and decided to have a tasting consultation. Marisa and her husband were very sweet and welcoming! We had samples of each flavor and they all tasted amazing. We decided to have each tier of our cake with a different flavor. The end result was more than we could ever ask for. It was beautiful and delicious! All of our guests loved it! -

Sugar Coated created the perfect wedding cake for our special day. When I first spoke with Marisa I had no clue as to what I wanted. With a few questions asked, she knew right away what we would like! When we saw the cake it was everything we could hope for and more! Both she and Giovanni are true artists in their craft and the intricate details they put into the cake amazed not only my husband and I but our guests could not stop gushing over it! On top of it, ironically the trimming my flowers matched the cake! -

Very helpful and thoughtful. They help you come up with designs to fit what you are looking for. They give you very professional opinions and are very honest. Sugarcoated bakery has been my go to place for years. They have done specialty cakes, cookies & cupcakes for various events of mine (engagement party, bridal/baby showers, Christening and most recently my daughters birthday. They are very accommodating and give you exactly what you ask for if not better. I have never had a bad experience at Sugarcoated and plan to continue going there for my specialty cakes needs! -

I have to say that finding a baker was very difficult for us. I heard about Marissa through my aunt. When we consulted with her, she was enthusiastic and had great energy. She helped us select a cake design that was simple and elegant. She customized it to fit our colors and tastes. We had a last minute change and she was so flexible with that. We had a sudden increase in attendants and she never got flustered. The cake was gorgeous and oh so delicious! Sugar Coated ROCKS! -

Marisa has made 2 cakes for us, for my daughter's birthday & her christening. Both were outstanding in design, quality & taste. If I were getting married (again) I would most definitely choose sugar coated to bake our cake. They are beyond good!!! Marisa of Sugar Coated Bakery designed cupcakes for my daughter's alice in wonderland themed birthday party. From our first contact via email Marisa was prompt with her responses and informative. She welcomed pics and ideas to help her create the perfect cupcakes. She was helpful and a pleasure to speak with over the phone. Se was also exceptionally accommodating concerning my daughters peanut allergy and assured me that would not be an issue. Her shop in Brooklyn is adorable and girly and equally welcoming. The cupcakes Marisa created were phenomena! They were very detailed and you could tell Marisa put alot of effort and had fun in creating them. They were a huge hit with everyone. The children felt very special being able to pick any of the beautifully designed cupcakes for themselves. Marisa choose great favors and they were all delicious! I would highly recommend her to anyone, and will be returning in the future. -

This is my 5th or 6th cake from sugar coated the prices are amazing and I love how they incorporate their ideas with yours and you end up with a perfect masterpiece. I got my Sweet 16 cake from sugar coated and it was absolutely amazing! It tasted great and she made it exactly how i wanted it! Other girls at my party wanted to know where i got it from so they can get their cake for their Sweet 16 from the same place. Our event was a First Holy Communion party for our daughter. The whole experience was extremely pleasant - from the initial meeting at the shoppe to the pick up on the day of the party. Marisa was able to dedicate her time during busy season to conduct our appointment where she took the time to listen to what I wanted and was able to point me to 2 or 3 pictures that she had in her book of previous work. She then sketched out a design that was so pleasing that I actually took a picture of it and showed it off to friends and family. We were able to taste test different cake and icing combinations. She also provided me with specific instructions for transporting the cake out of state where the party would be. I had specific questions that she was able to follow up on and provide me with accurate and precise recommendations of how she would handle. The day of pick up, she was ready at the time we agreed and was able to help me load my car. So this was all the experience of dealing with Sugar Coated.
Now for the cake itself- it was absolutely stunning. It was exactly what we had sketched out on paper during the initial appointment. The cake held up excellent throughout my party where it was on display. The cake tasted amazing. The cake was light and not too sugary and the icing was the right touch of sweet and complemented the cake well. We had 2 tiers (1 red velvet with cream cheese and 1 chocolate with nutella and strawberry). After the party I had several people call me asking about the cake and where I got it. I highly recommend Sugar Coated. -

My cake for my baby shower was absolutely beautiful. Marisa, from Sugar coated does a great job! We spoke before about the design and when I saw the cake at my Shower it was even better. Loved loved it! The filling was very good i choose Oreo with one layer of chocolate cake and one layer white cake. I would recommend and use again.

Getting our wedding cake from Sugar Coated was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Our cake was absolutely amazing. If you want your wedding to end on a sweet note, Sugar Coated Bakery is the best way to go. If I could give her 6 stars, I would. Not only was it the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, but it tasted unbelievable as well. Marissa and Giovanni are truly a cake genius, and the cake was definitely a work of art. Everybody loved the cake, and it looked so wonderful in the setting. Numerous people approached me during the night to tell me how beautiful it was. My sister in law actually used her for her wedding cake and grooms cake as well this past June. As well as my other sister in law using her for the Rehearsal Cake. Both of them were very satisfied and their cakes turned out amazing as well. She has a real attention to detail. Her designs and expertise seems to extend past wedding cakes too! This past August I actually used her to design a cake for my daughter Emily's 10th birthday party, she used her theme summertime and flip flops---- yet another success and I will definitely be using her in the future! Not only do they create the most beautiful cakes, but they are also beyond delicious!!! It is the perfect combination. We have been using Sugar Coated for the past 5 years and the end results keep getting better and better. My wedding cake was a dream come true... I love it as much today as I did on my wedding day! Sugar Coated in Brooklyn is the place to get your cake! Our wedding cake was fabulous! Marisa even made sugar calla lilies for us! They have tremendous flavors (caramel icing?? Who does that? lol) and even custom made Grand Marinier icing for us!!! Check them out, seriously. You can't get better than this. -

the best cake I have ever had in my life! Marisa is the sweetest and easiest person to work with. Most of our communication was through email but she is easy to get a hold of and had an awesome response time. Thanks to another bride who told me at Marisa at Sugar Coated. I honestly wanted to use a local (Brooklyn) baker for convenience, and obviously one that was not a complete rip off. I did everything with Marisa via email, and she did a phenominal job. The cake was exceptionally moist, tasty, and the decor blew my fiance's mind away! We could not have asked for a better cake! We highly recm'd her to all brides!!! -

After contacting multiple cake vendors for my wedding, my husband and I decided to go with Sugar Coated bakery. As soon as we walked through the door to this colorful pink bakery, the owner had a delicious tasting waiting for us! The chocolate ganache frosting was divine! The owner was able to custom design something to fit our budget and the actual cake surpassed my expectations. People still talk about my wedding cake! Hopefully we can use them for our next event! -

I have worked with this bakery twice in the last two months and each time the service and finished products were outstanding. The guests were always impressed by the design, quality and especially the taste. As a customer I feel I was treated with respect and consideration especially for my budget. Marisa is extremely helpful in helping figure out exactly what we were trying to convey in the cake idea. This was for my husbands 30th bday party and she and her husband made an amazing Comic cake with a Hulk fist coming through it. We used Mrisa for our wedding as well and always a pleasure to work with. My sister also used her for her sweet 16 and everyone loved what they did for her too. Marissa from sugarcoated was great to work with, it is obvious that she is very professional and knowledgeable as soon as you meet her. I ordered my groom's cake from her (a UFC octagon as my hubby is a huge fan) and he absolutely loved it! The one thing I do have to say that Marissa impressed me with more than anyone was a week before the wedding I called her and was about to cancel the whole thing because of how over budget I was. I still owed a few hundred dollars and didn't think I was able to make it and was even going to forfeit my deposit. Marissa worked with me on the price because she knew how much I wanted this for him and even talked about how expensive it is to pay for a wedding (she herself is getting married). She lowered the price at the last minute to accomodate me and I was able to afford the cake. I will repay her by getting more cakes from her and always recommending her because she is a true professional. Anyone else would've kept the deposit and told me to take a hike but she showed compassion and worked with me. That was a very honorable thing for her to do and I have told so many people what an angel she is.
As it turns out my ladies also ordered the cupcakes for my bridal shower from her and they were also perfect! I highly recommend sugar coated and their tasty treats. -
